Tearing the R32 Apart + GT3 Gets Louder!

**The Journey to Refine the GT3 R**

As we embark on this project, I decided to take a more low-key approach with my color watch, allowing the car's design to take center stage. The R32 is already a stunning machine, and I wanted to focus on refining its details rather than making any bold changes.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that there were some imperfections in the paint job, particularly around the panels. These small issues needed attention to ensure that the finish was smooth and even. To address this, I began sanding away at the affected areas, using a high-quality sandpaper to feather out the imperfections. The goal was to create a seamless surface that would showcase the car's sleek design.

As I continued working on the R32, I discovered a few other areas that required some attention. There was a small ding in the door, which needed to be filled and sanded smooth. To fix this, I applied bondo to the affected area and made sure it was level and aligned with the rest of the bodywork. Additionally, there were a couple of spots where fiberglass had been used, and these areas needed some touch-ups.

After completing these repairs, I took a step back to assess the car's overall appearance. While the repairs were successful in addressing the imperfections, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was still off. It wasn't until I discovered that the car came with dummy OPF material as a compromise for the US market that I realized what was causing the issue.

The OPF material was designed to quiet the engine and reduce emissions, but it had an unintended consequence: it muffled the sound of the exhaust system. Determined to fix this, I set out to remove the dummy material and reveal the true nature of the exhaust system.

With the OPF material gone, I was able to restore the car's original sound profile, which included a deeper, more resonant tone. This transformation was nothing short of remarkable, and it quickly became clear that the removal of the OPF material had been the key to unlocking the GT3 R's true potential.

**New Headers, New Life**

As I continued working on the R32, I decided to take advantage of a new opportunity: installing stock headers. The original plan had been to use JCR's headers, but due to unforeseen circumstances, these would not be available in time for the Smoky Mountains trip. With some quick thinking, I managed to find an alternative solution – a set of genuine Porsche headers.

These new headers were the perfect opportunity to breathe new life into the exhaust system. By removing the dummy material and installing the stock headers, I was able to restore the car's original sound profile. The result was nothing short of astonishing: the GT3 R sounded more vibrant and energetic than ever before.

**The Sound of a Well-Refined Engine**

One of the most satisfying aspects of working on the GT3 R was hearing its engine roar back to life. As I took it for a spin, I was struck by the sheer excitement and enthusiasm that the car's new exhaust system brought to the table. The sound was deeper, more resonant, and full of character – a true testament to the craftsmanship and attention to detail that had gone into building this machine.

**The Importance of Details**

As we continued working on the GT3 R, I realized that it was the little details that truly made the difference. From the carbon roof (which, unfortunately, wasn't possible for me to implement) to the carbon mirrors and front axle lift – these subtle touches were what set this car apart from its competitors.

The addition of a carbon roof would have undoubtedly added a touch of elegance to the GT3 R's design, while the carbon mirrors would provide an attractive break up in the car's sleek lines. And as for the front axle lift, it was an intriguing idea that I had considered – although not entirely practical.

Despite these minor quibbles, the end result was a car that truly showcased its potential. With each tweak and adjustment, I felt like I was getting closer to unlocking its true personality. And when I finally hit the open road, the GT3 R's performance and handling were nothing short of exceptional – a testament to the hard work and dedication that had gone into building this machine.

**The Final Result**

As we brought the project to a close, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. The GT3 R was more than just a car – it was an extension of myself, a reflection of my values and priorities. And as I looked at its sleek design, I knew that every detail had been worth it.

The final result was nothing short of stunning: a machine that not only performed admirably but also looked the part. Whether cruising down the highway or pushing the limits on the track, this GT3 R was a true marvel – and one that I would be proud to drive for years to come.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enall right guys welcome to today's video grant has been down here for over the weekend he's about to leave before he leaves i want to give him a quick ride in the chaser he's a little too scared to ride in the skyline no no no no you said i would be scared and i just agreed with you so yeah it still scares me a little bit okay we're going to the chaser what is this oh the pressure washer washing yeah we're getting the outside of the doors painted so uh pressure washing them before they get painted i don't know why like even though this guy lines faster i feel like i was more excited to get rid of this because you're a chaser boy chase i'm a jzx boy i'm excited so i haven't even filmed it making more power yet either so me and jamie turned it up on the street i have no idea what it's making on the dyno how much more boost is it running so before it would make around like 28 pounds then it would fall off to around 22 up top now it holds 28 pounds my butt dyno would probably predict it's like it's around 7. it's crazy and it looks like a show car yeah i love it and it's so good and it's cool it's pretty good it's like a stock turbo crazy makes the best noises dude oh this happened so good dude it's nice little comfy cruiser it rides like a stock vehicle i oh my god dude she's good it's good over the past couple months you guys have heard me dollars managed for free and lastly i want to give a massive thank you to wealthfront for sponsoring this video and supporting the content that we do now back to the shop my god this is ignorant third gear is spicy it's so long it just keeps going oh my god i love the gearing on this car it's good it's like second you're like okay it's pretty fast third you're like it's good top and third you're like so you're gonna let up the gas but a lot that's how my brain works too i start lifting yeah dude it's so drivable and it didn't like light up in third gear either no it hooks yeah so it's crazy dude i had to wear a dead hook second before because we had a little bit more boost per third now spin second a little bit yeah but it's still manageable are you ready we'll do a little two three yep let's go all right that was four this thing is good bro dude i can't believe how good the traction is dude he said let's do a 2-3 tj said i'm a because i never click four don't listen to tj i care a lot about what dj thinks all right i kind of do too that was for you tj if you watch this because i said my video before and he goes fourth gear you never play fourth gear he watches all the videos well fourth gear in this car is long yeah fourth gear is spicy launch speed yeah oh it's okay yeah it's an on off switch once you get rolling she drives good fine yeah what trans 154 it's so smooth i know oh this is so good i don't know that i've been in the car as a passenger for any poles i'm not gonna lie red line i think it's around like 78 there we go i get nervous driving other people it's okay oh god yo you know what it feels right i'm trying not to say the l word but it's very l dude it's crazy it's so straight too you might even go as far as to say it's linear yeah is that the word you guys use down here yeah they hate it when we use that l dude up up top from the passenger it starts like oh god when's it gonna stop that's what i said like second in the beginning of third is fine for my body and then the top of third is like whoa it almost feels like it's building torque as it continues yeah it's crazy like instead of being flatlined torque it almost feels like it keeps on making more and more steam as you climb sounds so good i love it i just can't get over 235's bro in the back is that what it is yeah with six degrees of camber one more do the top authorities i know crazy that was fun you know what i love what for once in my life even though it's in your car i get to watch you be a little scared all you do is make me scared constantly i get to see it and it made my weekend i'm glad i'm glad that made your weekend one of the final upgrades for the s15 leading into driftweek was a new shifter setup the old shifter setup that i had didn't have a reverse lockout and on the bmw's because reverse is passed first and over a little bit farther to the left what happened was with the right-hand drive car i kind of shift like this and i was getting stuck in the reverse gate which was making me miss gears and sometimes would even happen going from third to second so i went ahead and i got an irp chassis mounted shifter and what's cool about this you'll see it has a little lockout here has a button on top so all the way over the left you have first second and you can't get stuck in that reverse gate because you have this little actuator here but when you press the button on the top of it you'll see it'll slide in and then let you go over to that reverse gate so what i actually do with it too you'll notice on both sides so i guess in theory you could mount it either way but i created a fifth and sixth lockout so i basically have one two three four and i can't even go over to the fifth and sixth gate so i can never miss shift now i press the button when i'm on the street i can go over in a fifth in a six and then back to my four speed so kind of cool neat little setup and i like how it has a button on top feels real nice and high end with the trim and boot on it too you can also barely see it so it doesn't have a crazy aftermarket look to it all right shifter test here we go um yo this thing all right ready for one two three yep a little bit damn knocked up the fronts yeah i was trying to see when i was hitting the brakes the steering was turning a little bit so you might just want to make sure nothing's loose this will probably be your last reminder in a video to get your tickets to the lz drift party that we're having at englishtown it's gonna be fun it's gonna be chill all the homies doing some driving doing some hanging out some partying this thing's ready to go it's about to leave in less than 24 hours i'll have the ticket link in the description and the flyer is right up here mike don't forget to put in the video please thank you bye now you guys may have noticed that i haven't been driving the new gt3 much now that might not be a huge surprise since i didn't really drive the gt3 rs much in florida we just have straight roads so there's not a lot of satisfaction out of it that combined with the fact that i haven't been really happy with how the car sounded i was really waiting on headers to come in because it just kind of sounded mundane without them but i got a solution and i'm going to do that today because this car is going up to the smokies and i got to sound cool for the boys the smokies in the gt3 nonprofit organization does a run up there for cystic fibrosis so in the middle drift week i'm going to be flying out to atlanta and taking this thing up in the smokies but we got to give her some love today first more compound updates uh we are repainting all the doors in the building that kind of faded green so you can see that going on behind us i photoshopped as a bunch of different colors and nothing really looked good so i think we might as well just keep it tied in with the roof on another note i think i said in the video i ended up selling the pajero mini to duarte uh he didn't like the red so he had it wrapped pearl white look how good it came out his buddy jonas from garage wraps came by and did it we got to talking and that's what kind of inspired me to wrap the r32 so jonas is actually here today removing the wrap from the r32 i loved it it was iconic it was a cool vibe and there's a good chance that i might go back to something some of that at a future point in time but i want to enjoy that car on the street like three or four years ago i loved having the flashy like drift car pulling up to the gas station or starbucks and getting all the attention now i just kind of want to low key and enjoy my rb28 that makes 800 horsepower to the wheels so we're gonna go with a little bit more of a low-key color watch him do the thang we're working on the r32 right now i'm going through and smoothing out all the panels more or less there was just some some imperfections in the paint that we want to go through and cover up before we wrap it in enzotec um just because enzotek is a very high gloss finish it's the closest to paint wrap has gotten so far so we just want to make sure everything's smoothed out so we're going through sanding everything that you would be able to see through um right here there's actually a ding in the door so we're going through and we're going to throw bondo over it make sure it's all level and and lines up with the body gap front door handles the same thing there's a couple more spots with fiberglass that we're going to be going through and touching up but i won't be doing that myself that'll be someone else so um so more or less just making it look all making it look all good i knew the car sound cooler jcr's headers won't be in time for the smokies so i happen to find another set of stock headers so now i have the confidence to delete the dummy material from the opfs so this right here is what's taking all our sound away and i'm trying to see if i can chisel it away it's not a cat i don't even know if we have opfs in the us i think this might be like a fake opf material i don't really understand but it's getting chiseled out it would be easy they said look at that oh that's why it doesn't sound good yep dear epa and karen's watching this video i wanted to make it crystal clear we still have the factory catalytic converters i think twice before you go to the comment section looks beautiful look neochrome yeah to be fair i do have neochrome bolts on this car so yikes let's see what she sounds like i'm gonna need a little warm up before i can rub it it definitely made a difference it got so much deeper yeah i feel like you know now we do catalysts after this this is b3 these cars catalyst i did it on my other gt3 not the move they get they get like ear piercing vq rats kills the sound of the car cats are key not on a lot of things but on these we like the cats if you know you know friends don't let friends ride around without d-nib tires step your game up boys so i did just confirm this is not an actual opf this is dummy material that they put in the u.s spec cars uh just so they don't have to redevelop the headers and they can use the same stuff that they use over in europe um so serves absolutely no purpose other than quieting the car down and making it sound dumb now let's see if it sounds better yeah would not recommend where long sleeves next time mignon are like breaking out from that stuff lesson learned yeah let's go see what sounds all right let's see if we notice the difference just cruising seems about the same sometimes got a little bit more rasp up top yeah oh yeah it's going to be good i'm excited to hear this thing not going off the trees it still sounds a lot different than the previous generation but yeah all right i'll give her a good old rip rooney um i got a happy face it sounds very good it fixed it it got rid of the like it sounded muffled up top before and there was no excitement of pushing the car past a certain rpm i've found that excitement back in my heart now and i'm excited to drive this car in rage in the smoky mountains he's spicy good girl as you guys know i didn't spec this car out there's three things that i would have added if i was to inspect this car out maybe four i would have changed the real color but three things i would have done a carbon roof which i obviously can't do now uh i would have done carbon mirrors which i can do now and i would in front axle lift which doesn't make financial sense so when i got the car i ordered these from porsche of naples and we're going to figure out how easy it is to swap these onto the mirrors they look nice break up the car a little bit save some weight that was terrifying when y'all are wondering why you can't catch me in the mountains dude the grams we're saving here insane yeah yeah so alongside that little head of yours you better not put that in the video mike and we're gonna have a problem guys the video is over i hope you enjoyed it make sure you
