Apple Launches The New iPad and Apple TV

The New iPad: A Revolutionary Display and More

In what was announced as the "big deal" at Apple's event, the new iPad comes with a retina display that boasts an incredible 2048x1536 resolution, making it roughly double the density of the current model. This translates to over 3.1 million pixels on the screen, providing a viewing experience like no other. The human eye can't notice the difference between individual pixels at this distance, which is why Apple has dubbed it "Retina Display." Those who witnessed the demo in person were reportedly impressed by the snazzy visuals.

Compared to its predecessor, the iPad 2, the new device is slightly thicker, but that's about all there is to change. The camera on the rear of the new iPad has been upgraded to a 5-megapixel sensor with full 1080p video capture capabilities, while the front-facing FaceTime HD camera takes care of video chatting needs. The A5x processor, not to be confused with the quad-core processors found in some Android devices, still delivers impressive performance and graphics rendering.

Apple has also brought its Full EyeSuite to the iPad with the introduction of a new iPhoto app that's available now for $4.99. This universal app is designed for both iPad and iOS devices, offering a range of tools and features to manage your photos like never before. Other software updates include a revamped iMovie that can handle 1080p video editing, as well as other Apple apps that will be updated in the near future.

The new iPad will go on sale starting March 16th, priced at $499 for the Wi-Fi model and $599 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular version. The latter includes support for 4G LTE connectivity on AT&T and Verizon networks, as well as mobile hotspot capabilities that can connect up to five devices simultaneously.

Another notable announcement from Apple is the updated Apple TV set-top box. While it's essentially the same device as its predecessor, it now features a new user interface and supports 1080p video playback. The Apple TV will also begin shipping on March 16th for $99, available for pre-order right now.

The iOS updates mentioned earlier are expected to arrive shortly, with iPhoto being available today at $4.99 and other apps following suit in the coming days or weeks. Expect detailed reviews from our team once we get hands-on with the new gear.

As you might expect, there's already buzz among tech enthusiasts and Android fans about what this means for gaming on the iPad. With the new display and 4G LTE connectivity, it could be a game-changer (pun intended). Stay tuned to Technobuffalo for all the latest news and impressions of these exciting new devices.
