**Unboxing and First Look: Roku Now TV Box**

The main device that caught my attention was the remote control, which is very light and has a sleek design. The controls on the remote include "me back", "home up down left right", "rewind", "play pause forward", and "star bar" as well as an app icon for the Now TV app. This remote also features a battery pack and a button that reads "Now TV".

As I powered on the device, it quickly booted up and displayed a screen with various apps available for download from the Roku Channel Store, which is similar to a Play Store. I installed the Vimeo and Facebook apps, as well as a few other channels such as CNET and kids' channels.

**Setting Up and Installing Apps**

To set up the device, I had to enter my Wi-Fi details and login credentials for my Now TV account. It was straightforward to set up, but it's recommended that users do this before ordering the device. The Roku Channel Store allows users to download additional apps, including popular services like YouTube and Netflix.

Upon browsing the app store, I found a variety of options available, including BBC iPlayer and my own Vimeo account. that anyway yeah do it that thumbs up bun and let's get straight to this unboxing so looking at the box initially now you may get a different version this is the release model that I've got here so it may be slightly different so I've got a now TV logo here powered by Sky themselves I'm just going to go ahead and open this up straight away so with a break these feel here and we can straight into the box to see what you get inside here so you've got the let's get started guide so that's these Quick Start Guide that you've got there the box is straight here very very light and I really like the look of this we'll come back to that in a second as well as do your more let's just have a quick look at what else you get inside the box and then we'll come back to those so you've got the AC adapter here so that's what's going to be powering the device and I'm just pulling that out here and pull that to the side now what else you've got in here you see some batteries here so those will be for do you moult we've also got HDMI cable in here now that's good to see that you've got the HDMI cable in here as well you know you guess HDMI cables for $9.99 these please the fact that this is all included in the package is absolutely great and you've got two triple A batteries and these are for the remote so two triple A batteries so the icons inside the box as well you've got the now TV box important product information so that's everything that you get in here now let's look at the box itself initially so it's got some plastics which will get rid of straight away and we'll have a quick look around the device so there it is it's looking very nice I really do like the design of it it's nice simple and clean so you've got the now TV powered by Sky logo at the top but you've got a small LED at the front nothing on the left and right the back is where you've got all the connections so you've got the HDMI connection you've got the a/v out as well which is quite useful and you've got the reset button as well as the DCN which is going to be powering that now at the bottom you've got some information here the wireless as well as the serial no and it's got this sort of rubber grip as well so you know when it is on your desk it's not gonna move around too much so that's the main device so let's have a look at the remote as well so one nice remote here is well very light so the controls that you've got here you've got me back you've got the home up down left right okay you've got the rewind the play pause forward this star bar and hearing that the app so this does have other apps so now although whatever apps you get on the device right now what we want you have a but you will be with a download additional apps as they get added and you've got the now TV button and at the battery pack so let's power this up and have a quick first boot up and look at what you get on screen so the device is and now all hooked up onto the screen and set up but it was pretty straightforward to set up all I need to do is put in my Wi-Fi details on my login details for the now TV account so you do need an hour TV account it's probably best just to get that set up but when you order this device so you're all set so having a look here so you've got all your apps on here so you've got my on our TV you've got Sky News iPlayer I've also installed Vimeo and Facebook YouTube available on here as yet anyway hopefully it'll come soon so you've got the roku channel store here this is a sort of like a Play Store so you know your app store so this is where you can get your additional apps on here and this is where I install a Vimeo and a Facebook from as well so you know you've got CNET here you've got channels some kids channels here as well so you know you've got a bit of variety it's going to quickly flip through here to give you guys an idea of the different sort of apps are available here now go back home and we'll just give it a quick test so I'm just gonna go on to BBC iPlayer you may not play an actual video because I don't want to be done for copyright but let's just have a quick look here at the BBC iPlayer app so this is just loading in real time so this is the sort of speed as well so this is the so first time that I'm putting that on so this is it I mean the Apple style looks very similar to what you see on the PlayStation 3 this is what I'm used to anyway so you've got all the lists of your different videos here said I'm not gonna actually play one on here because of copyright reasons but all we can do is we can head back home and I'll play something on Vimeo just to show you guys an example when you all just play one of my own videos on Vimeo so that shouldn't have any copyright issues whatsoever so just searching for some of my videos so here's a few videos that I've come up of mine will play one of my popular videos on here and just give you guys a quick example of how way go back so it's just retrieving the content right now and it is on HD so there we go so the remote control you can easily play pause it and that's what yeah now you've probably seen nothing me anyway so you're not going to show you anymore but still to actually pause it on it so that was my unboxing and first look at the now TV box now you've got a few apps on here as I didn't mention you don't have YouTube not you not got Netflix either but you know these may be coming on later on because it is an app store which you can download stuff on so hopefully we'll be seeing some of these soon but then again you have to remember that this is all under a tenner so you know including postage under tenner for these apps on demand on your TV so you're making your TV small probably well I think it's the cheapest option out there to make your TV a
