of horrible gray weather a lot of rain and wind we now have some blue skies and sunshine again yeah very very nice especially because today is the day that we take out this nissan gt-r nismo this is a going to show you around it we're going to talk about everything that is different on a nismo compared to a regular gtr and then we'll take it for a drive towards the ultraman for an automan blast so the nismo is the ultimate gtr as i said but it's basically the ultimate gt-r for the track this is a white car a beautiful metallic white and i have to say i quite like it i'm not the biggest fan of white cars but the contrast with all the carbon fiber bits all the red accents on this nismo kind of works so at the front we've got a lot of carbon fiber carbon fiber front bumper down here all this with little red accents on the splitter as well a gtr logo and of course the nismo logo right there now on later cars the bonnet was also carbon fiber this is a 2015 car so it's got a regular bonnet it also has some different wheels nismo wheels very cool wheel kind of retro and these are 20 inch with behind that brembo brakes now i don't know if this was only available on later cars or it might have been optional on this as well but carbon ceramic brakes were available and they were actually the biggest carbon ceramics ever fitted on a japanese car 410 millimeters at the front these are regular steel brakes brake pedal feels great performance is great but of course with steel brakes you do experience some fading when they get hot these tires dunlop sp sport max gt600 that's a long name uh they are it's basically as you can see it's a very sporty tire it's basically a cup two uh so it's a semi-slick for the road and you do feel that as you can see it's a bit damp still today but if you get the tires nice and warm they work really well 20 inch beautiful wheel at the front and then we've got a carbon fiber side skirt as you can see again later cars got carbon fiber roof as well so this nismo is around 20 kilos lighter than a regular gt-r but later nismos were up to like 41 kilos lighter and that's mainly because of those two components the bonnet and the roof i'm guessing so at the rear we've got a gorgeous rear bumper absolutely stunning with a lot of carbon fiber very intricate a lot of these like vents in there as well absolutely gorgeous we've got a gtr exhaust this is the regular exhaust nothing changes for the nismo massive tailpipes and then you've got a smaller one in there but those are huge of course the classic rear lights of the gtr and we've got a beautiful carbon fiber rear wing absolutely massive with an integrated braking light as well but look at those little that looks so awesome and the carbon fiber is absolutely gorgeous now open that up this is carbon fiber look at that that is gorgeous so that is super light and that does save a little weight but i have to say i absolutely love the way this thing looks i'm i i think you know a regular gtr it's cool but this this looks freaking mean as hell i love it absolutely awesome alright so let's take a look under the bonnet where oh that's not even spring loaded so think it should go there right yeah okay so 3.8 liter v6 twin turbocharged engine with 600 horsepower and 650 newton meters of torque which i think is 50 horsepower more than the regular gtr of 2015 hand-built engine by tsunami oyama only five people in the world were allowed to work on this engine or build the engine something like that these are freaking master craftsmen and this engine is phenomenal in regular spec it is a beast already but this nismo has the turbos from a gt3 race car and they spool up so quick they're a little bit bigger higher flow and the power delivery is just mega it also has a bigger fuel pump than the regular gt-r and it is linked to a six-speed dual clutch gearbox carbon fiber composite linked to a six-speed dual clutch gearbox which has been revamped for the nismo as well so the shifts are a bit quicker and a bit firmer a bit harder now on the inside we have another cool detail we've got these carbon backed seats gorgeous that saves weight as well so much carbon fiber on this car and then on the interior more carbon on the center console a beautiful alcantara steering wheel with a center marker in red and then we've got a red rev counter with a nismo logo as well these seats are actually super nice they are recaros and they are made specifically for this car they are perfect i just drove like two and a half hours in this thing and they are super comfy snug supportive man absolutely awesome all right so if we turn on the ignition you can see that we've got three rocker switches down here uh one is for the drivetrain so you can go to r or go to save or normal same goes for the traction control are off normal and we've got this one for the suspension so this car has three-way adjustable bilstein dampers specific for this car custom developed and it is very very firm the right is is quite harsh but it's so firm and the car is so rigid so they used a new type of bonding to make the body panels more rigid so it's like 10 more rigid the body and combined with those super stiff dampers and the newly calibrated steering which is very direct the car feels like a different animal it really does the the difference is massive compared to a regular gtr which feels more like a big gt a very fast big gt but this feels like a proper driver's car which is really awesome so we'll start it up you can hear those freaking clutch plates or whatever it is rattling when you start it up same goes when you put it in reverse and then put it in forward you can hear the gearbox which i really love there are a lot of mechanical sounds coming from this car and it just feels so nice all right so we've got a display right there so you can adjust all these screens to show you whatever you want so i think there are like 18 different things you can show turbo pressure engine oil temperature oil pressure this is a g-meter i mean you can you can do whatever you want so i set up this one with a couple of temps a couple of pressures g-forces and my throttle and brake input but the car feels it's very difficult to to explain it feels mechanical and software based at the same time so it feels very advanced but it also feels a bit old-school sometimes which is a very cool combination absolutely love that all right so we're going to go for manual for the gearbox no we're not because we're going to do a launch control so put that back in automatic no we'll put it back in manual for a sound check put everything in r a couple gears down second gear and you still have that very recognizable nissan gtr sound it is that v6 with those two turbos that make a very very specific sound the sound that you once you've heard it you'll be able to like pick it out of a line every time because it it does have its own sound now i do have to say oh the gearbox the shifts are very quick it is very quick and the experience is it's very visceral it's you can feel everything through your seat through the steering wheel as i said the response to the steering wheel is very quick so it's very direct it's a really cool experience okay so we're going to do a launch control quickly here i do think i still have some crap on my tires but we'll see yeah a lot of wheel spin so in these conditions it is practically impossible to get near the claimed 0 to 100 which is 2.7 seconds that is absolutely insane 2.7 zero to 100 i i'm guessing you really need hot tires hot road surface to be able to get close to that because right now i mean i think we've been able to do 3.2 3.4 or something like that not even close so when this car came out i think it was like twice as expensive as a regular gtr and at the time i was thinking well that's that's never going to be worth it yes it looks cool but what else you know but they've done so much to this car uh they also changed the upper links of the suspension they changed so much actually to make it feel as rigid and as direct as it does poor that is very nice and of course we've got that all-wheel drive system 300 it feels very very planted 315. that was a lot of space as well but man it is a quick car you do feel that you've got some drag from that rear wing even though nissan says that it provides 100 such a good job on that it's firm but still provides so much control and that is a really nice combo where is all this space coming from all of a sudden man it's empty today so let's try to do a quick 100 to 200. that should do it now we've been able to do a best measurement of around 7.3 seconds for this car which is very quick but that i mean it only has 600 horsepower i mean that's a lot of horsepower of course but so does a bmw m5 so the car weighs around 1700 kilos it is a bit lighter but i think to really appreciate this car it should be taken to the track because then that all that extra down uh the gearbox that has been revamped those turbos that spool up quicker that's when you're going to notice all that difference so it is a mega impressive car and it is a very intense
