**Enabling Edge Lighting Plus on Your Galaxy S8, S9, and S9+**
A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon an amazing feature called Edge Lighting Plus that can enhance your smartphone's display. This feature is only available on specific devices, including the Galaxy S8, S9, and S9+. If you want to try it out, you'll need to have one of these devices and download the Edge Lighting Plus app from the Galaxy app store.
However, if you're unable to download the app or it's not available in your region, don't worry! You can still try to download it using an APK and sideloading it. I've left a link in the description below on how to do this, so make sure to check it out. Once you manage to get the app installed, you'll be taken directly to the Edge Lighting settings.
**Edge Lighting Options**
When you open up the Edge Lighting Plus application, you'll see several options for effects that can be applied to your screen. You already saw basic multicolor glow and glitter, which were added with the Oreo update on the Galaxy S8 and S9. However, there are a few more options available now, including fluid Boomerang, galaxy loop, and celebrate.
Let's take a closer look at each of these effects individually. **Fluid** is a single line that wraps around the entire edge of the display. To see it in its full glory, make sure to go into the width setting and set it all the way to wide. Also, adjust the transparency to its lowest setting so you can see the effect clearly. You have the option to choose the color of the effect, so I've selected green as the best color for this video.
**Boomerang Effect**
The Boomerang effect is another cool feature that changes and goes back and forth around the outside edge of your screen. To try it out, simply go into the color setting and select the green option, which we'll see in action now. This effect adds a dynamic twist to your screen, making it stand out even more.
**Galaxy Effect**
The Galaxy effect leaves a sparkly trail around the outside of your screen, giving it a bubbly look. You have options for color and transfer, as well as a loop option that will continue to cycle through different effects. There's also the Celebrate option, which adds some festive sparkles to your screen.
**Tips and Tricks**
One neat trick with this app is that when you're in the settings menu, you can swipe down in the middle of the screen to hide the bottom bar. This allows you to see the full effect without having to apply it to the screen. Additionally, you'll notice that some notifications won't work properly with Edge Lighting Plus, such as Gmail and WhatsApp notifications. To fix this, simply tap on the notification or swipe down to open it in a different app.
**Using Edge Lighting Plus on Your Phone**
To use Edge Lighting Plus on your phone, go into the settings of your device and select Display. Then, scroll down to the Edge Screen option and select Edge Lighting Plus. From here, you can adjust the settings to suit your preferences. You have options for when the effect should appear, including "Screen On," "Screen Off," or both.
**Conclusion**
That's it for this article on Edge Lighting Plus! I hope you found this information helpful in learning how to use this amazing feature on your Galaxy S8, S9, and S9+.
