The Mountain Everest Max: A Revolutionary Gaming Keyboard Experience
For years, enthusiasts have been asking for a customizable gaming keyboard with advanced features and sleek design. The Mountain Everest Max has finally arrived, and it's a game-changer. This numpad has four LCD buttons that can launch frequently used programs or apps, making it an invaluable tool for anyone who wants to streamline their workflow.
The software integration of the Mountain Everest Max is impressive. Users can visually see the customization options on screen with just the press of a button. The profiles tab allows users to cycle through different lighting effects, adjust the speed and animation direction, and customize each lighting zone around the keyboard. This level of control is unmatched in any other gaming keyboard.
One of the standout features of the Mountain Everest Max is its key bindings system. Users can configure what each key does, from simple shortcuts to complex macros. This feature allows users to tailor their keyboard to their specific needs, making it an ideal choice for professionals and gamers alike.
The display dial tab offers a range of customization options, including setting up screen savers, changing the clock format, and adjusting the color of the dial. Users can also disable certain keys if they're not needed for their workflow. The only drawback is that the lighting effects in real-time are somewhat slow and laggy, but this doesn't detract from the overall experience.
The Mountain Everest Max is available in three different configurations: the Everest Bare Bones, which includes the keyboard without key switches and caps; the Everest Core, which includes the keyboard with switches and caps but none of the other modules; and the full Everest Max configuration, which includes all the modules and features. The latter option comes at a price of $270, which may seem steep to some, but it's hard to deny the value of what you're getting.
The Everest Max is more than just a keyboard – it's an experience. It's a testament to the power of innovation and design. With its customizable key bindings, advanced software integration, and sleek design, this keyboard is sure to revolutionize the way we interact with our devices. Whether you're a gamer, professional, or simply someone who wants to take their workflow to the next level, the Mountain Everest Max is an absolute must-have.
In conclusion, my only criticisms of the Mountain Everest Max are minor. The milled effect behind the keys and around the brushed aluminum could be smoother, and the software's animations could be more polished. However, these are small price to pay for the level of customization and control offered by this keyboard.
Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Mountain Everest Max. It's a game-changer in the world of gaming keyboards, and it's an absolute must-have for anyone who wants the best. If you're looking for a keyboard that can keep up with your fast-paced lifestyle, look no further than the Mountain Everest Max.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys i'm random frank p and today's video is the highly anticipated review of a keyboard that i showed off the prototype for a few months ago from its initial kickstarter phase and it's finally here you can all stop asking now we're gonna be reviewing the mountain everest this is the max version with the modular add-ons and that's one of the really cool and great things about this keyboard is the fact that it is modular it's customizable it's really really unique so in this review we'll go through it all my thoughts and opinions pros and cons that they delivered they follow up from their promises all that good stuff in case you're interested in picking up the mountain everest so first up when you get it in you'll immediately start to get pumped because i have to say they did a fantastic job the overall packaging for this everest max version and that's not really something that i often spend too much time on or even mention you know the packaging materials during a review because often it's completely irrelevant or just a thin cheap box but here you could really tell all the time they put into this keyboard just right from the jump you open it up and you'll have the everest right there waiting for you and it's core layout underneath that is the included magnetic detachable wrist rest which is nice and has this soft rubberized touch to it then underneath in its own drawer are the other accessories and add-ons that let you obviously you know build the keyboard up to your liking again usually i just gloss over packaging and reviews but it's so apparent that mountain just put a lot of time thought and effort into this to make the experience the best it can be for us consumers and that does not go unnoticed inside the first box you get the accessories which contains a keycap and keyswitch puller the other escape key since the stock one on this is that nice metal version your magnetic add-on feet and the five other cherry switch offerings you can use either you know test out or put into your keyboard so that's hot swappable so here you can sample some see what you like more underneath that they have their manual you know the startup guide and then into the goods the next box contains the media dock which i know most people were psyched up about myself included and rightfully so because this module has dedicated multimedia keys and that multifunctional dial for changing things like lighting different profiles macros showing the time your cpu usage and info and it's color matching as well really love this stock the next box is a detachable numpad for those who just can't live without it and this as well can go on either side of your keyboard but the main feature of this are those four lcd buttons we see up top like something from the elgato stream deck so we have four of those integrated here and then the last box is our cable it's a two millimeter braided usbc cable and they also include a usb c female to male extender inside the box for you then from there the option is yours to completely configure this keyboard however you want to your liking you can build it all up to its everest max version maybe just use the media dock if you want to keep it at that smaller compact layout or just change up the size which you have this configured so maybe you're a lefty you want it on that side or you want to free up some space on the right side of your keyboard so you have more room for your mouse on your desktop you have that option to configure this however you like and that ladies and gentlemen 94 gentlemen is the beauty of a modular keyboard like this so for a quick closer look at the modules here the media dock is greatly improved from the prototype version that i had thankfully with a nice tactile scroll and better buttons here this is like i said before just gives you that on-the-fly control of switching profiles which is between macros the lighting effects the brightness all can be dialed here you can have just a picture on there have it be a clock show your pc info so on then for the numpad again the additional keys for those spreadsheets and those four lcd screens can be programmed to do whatever you want you can switch up the icon as well to whatever you want inside the software make these things launch games programs websites anything but even at its core tkl layout the everest is legit all black brushed aluminum finish on this unit looks really nice it's available in that gunmetal gray like i showed in the prototype as well and while the milt finish in the middle looks unique visually i'm not the biggest fan of that but in terms of build though for the aluminum top plate it's really solid no flex or creakiness and even when it comes to the attachments and stuff particularly with the numpad once you slide it on there is going to be you know some slight wobble assuming you pick it up like this but again that's natural because it's not built actually onto the keyboard it's naturally just going to have a little bit of flex but you can obviously come to expect that not too big of a deal but i will say the actual magnets that they seem to be using here uh to attach it to either side with those little pins do seem to be improved they definitely feel a bit stronger now before we move on believe it or not there's still some physical things that i want to go over first is a usb passthrough on the back side and this really isn't out of the ordinary it's always a nice inclusion but what's really awesome and we've yet to see anywhere else is the fact that you don't need that additional usb plug that goes into your pc which takes up two slots and the usbc cable here to power the keyboard is removable take that steel series take that razor take that corsair this means if you want to use your own custom coiled usb-c cable that you might already have you can and it will still power the modules plus still power the usb passthrough all just with the one usb then lastly before we move on in terms of rgb we do have per key lighting and a strip that goes around the entire keyboard for some slight underglow on your desk and the rgb even extends to the numpad it can be configured via the dock like i showed you or take it a step further and customize it inside their software i'll show you in a minute i will say the rgb isn't the brightest that i've seen but it's really not a big deal you still see it it's still apparent it's just not the brightest like i said i will also point out the led lights they use in here don't produce that cool white um it definitely has that slight pinkish tint to it as you can see but this is a pretty common problem with a lot of led lights in the keyboards like this but i did want to point it out and then underneath the set of abs keycaps by the way they do have a pbt set available at checkout for just 30 dollars more we have cherry red switches in this unit that can be swapped out to your liking and just having that hotspot capability on a keyboard like this with as many features as it already has is just huge included is that puller like i showed you just squeeze the top and bottom clips on the switch and just lift up it's that easy then for a closer look at the pcb you can see it is a three pin hot swap here so if your switches have five pins those two extra plastic feet on the bottom you can easily clip those with some wire cutters and it'll fit into here just fine and then an issue that often plagues keyboards is annoying and loud stabilizers but mountain actually clipped and lubed every single unit manually so when they got them in they clipped them they looped the stabilizers so now we're gonna have a much much better sounding and feeling stabilizing result which is just awesome i just have to say it's really refreshing to see a keyboard like this seemingly come out of nowhere with this company from mountain and give us all these great features and capabilities with the modular add-ons hotspot pcb still the rgb lighting usbc usb passthrough and then factory lube switches as it is just really really great so we'll do a sound test now with these cherry red switches in this unit again i didn't swap them out with other switches because you know it was this is just what i got stock so it would make sense to you if you also get the cherry reds with their factory loop stabilizers okay so in terms of sound quality yes it sounds like reds on an aluminum plate like we've heard before from companies like corsair and stuff but the stabilizers obviously vastly improved from most other keyboard companies out there but the thing that i noticed right away was it wasn't even so much the improved sound but the stabilizers felt a lot more it's gonna sound stupid but stable they felt more just solid very very minimal rattle to it like physically to the touch uh just very impressed here so then when it came to my time you know putting it to the test and really just you know gaming with it seeing how it felt and while i'm more familiar and kind of used to the cherry speed switches and then the corsair opex linear switches going back to reds really didn't bother me too much but again they also do offer the silver speed switches so you could have that option at checkout but yeah everything's been great again i didn't really necessarily use the numpad as much because i don't really use a numpad as it is when i'm gaming or editing but that media dock definitely comes in clutch just for you know whatever you want to use it for whether it is switching up the lighting having it as a clock whatever you want it's very very cool they have that here built-in media keys is always a necessity i think but i will say for the numpad having those four lcd buttons is going to be a huge advantage no matter what you're doing even just having it launch certain you know programs or apps that you frequently use is really cool because it's done at the press of a button you visually see it there on the screen it's a really great integration that i've been asking for from other companies for years now and everest is the first to deliver and then into the more boring aspect of reviews i know it's the software but here obviously it's going to be important to when it comes configuring some of those certain keys and the lcd buttons and stuff and for a company i just like launched this this is pretty impressive it's laid out very nicely if your profiles tab your lighting tab which you can go through and cycle between the effects change up the speed the animation direction and stuff the custom effect is where you can go in and change up each of the lighting zones around the keyboard set it to a certain color and stuff like that if you want to really customize it key bindings is where you can go in and really start to configure what each of the keys do you can change it up this is where you can also go in and change what the actual lcd buttons do so here's where you can sort of change it to that function as well as changing up the image it's going to be displayed on those lcd keys so all done here through key bindings macros is going to be obviously for creating those macros then you have the display dial tab you can turn the different menus on and off if you don't want to use all of them or have them on there do things like have it set to a screen saver so you could change you know whatever that little logo is you can put your own logo there or just a certain image on that that'll show up after like 30 seconds or so you can also change the color of the actual dial so it's stock yellow you can make it blue or do whatever you want even change the clock from analog to digital then the last settings tab is going to be for checking for updates as well as changing your actual keyboard layout and disabling some of the keys for like windows key and stuff like that but all together very good my only real complaint about the software is that the actual lighting effects in real time are kind of slow-ish and laggy uh but honestly it's not a big deal because you still understand what the effect is so starting to wrap this up i do want to say first that there are three different ways you can buy this first is the everest bare bones which is you get the keyboard but without key switches and key caps so if you already have your own you don't need to pay extra if you're going to swap them out then there's the everest core which is the actual keyboard with switches and caps but none of the other modules for 150 and then with the modules with everything all built up it's 270. that's definitely a bit pricey admittedly yes but also you take a look at everything you're getting here the technology the customization to swap it up add the modules wherever you want plus all the great features that i mentioned numerous times throughout with the usbc usb passthrough hot swap switches loop stabilizers everything that you're gonna want a keyboard to give you this has for 270. yeah it would be great to see a little bit cheaper um but i assume this wasn't really cheap to make and there's nothing out there like this so they can they can do that they can charge that and i think all things considered it's a fantastic keyboard like i said before it's just really refreshing to see a company come out of nowhere put every other gaming keyboard company to shame really and deliver a really great final product because that's the thing with it being an initial kickstarter people were concerned but is it ever going to come out is this actually a real thing yes and it's better than 99 of the gaming keyboards out there right now my only two kinds if i could like i said sort of bring up some um i'm not the biggest fan of that milled sort of um effect you know kind of like behind the keys and stuff around or inside the brushed aluminum and if the software could maybe make those animations a little bit smoother that'd be cool but not a big deal at all so yeah that'll wrap it up for my review of the mountain everest max hope you all enjoyed i know i'm loving it i have a lot of feeling you guys are gonna too if you want to check it out i'll put a link for you in the description down below if you like this review give it a big thumbs up show your support feel free to follow
