Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Review - Better Than AirPods Pro

**A Closer Look at Samsung's Galaxy Buds Pro: The Ultimate Wireless Earbuds**

Sometimes I have my AirPods Pro on for about five hours straight and I didn't feel any discomfort of any sort. The kind that you sometimes get with prolonged use, but they're not the kind that make you forget that they're even there. Something that happens to me when I have my AirPods Pro on. The best part about the Galaxy Buds Pro, though, is active noise cancellation. The kind that actually works when you put these on. It can get rid of background noise or the hum from a heater. You'll still hear the noise on the subway but most everything else will be drowned out.

For someone who travels a lot or at least used to noise cancellation buds, this small size is perfect because you can just throw them into your backpack instead of having to lug around a big pair of headphones and they'll do the job of drowning out the sound of a baby crying nearby. I'm so glad that Samsung finally got it right. Now aside from active noise cancellation, there's also something called intelligent ANC (Adaptive Noise Cancellation). This basically means that if you start talking, maybe you're at a restaurant and a waiter comes up to you, it'll switch to transparency mode and once you're done with it, it will switch noise cancellation back on. You can also set how long you want it to remain in transparency mode.

Of course, noise cancellation is only half the job done. What about sound quality inside these small buds? Is an 11 millimeter woofer for richer bass and a 6.5 millimeter tweeter for richer treble overall. They sound great with a good balance between the two, which is something that's very important to me. There is also a 360 degree audio setting that mimics multi-directional surround sound, which is pretty cool. The other day I was listening to Angelbert Hamerding's "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and while I could hear the vocals on both ears, I could hear the drums on one side and then the trumpet solo in the other.

For gamers, there's also a Game mode that reduces audio latency so you can hear those gunshots as fast as you can pull the trigger. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro have three microphones: one on the inside, two on the outside. There's also windshield tech that blocks out ambient noise, so people on the other end of the call can hear you better. I recorded a video using these buds as a microphone and another Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra to see how I sound.

Samsung is promising five hours of playback with ANC turned on in my tests, I got close to that number. You can charge the buds by popping them into the case for an extra 13 hours for a total of 18. In terms of charging speeds, a 30 minute charge will get you 13 minutes of playback. Speaking of charging, you can charge the case by plugging it into a charger via USBC or by plopping the case down on a wireless charging mat.

The new Galaxy Buds Pro are available in three colors: Phantom Violet, Phantom Black, and Phantom Silver to match the newly announced Galaxy S21 series. They're available starting today on Samsung.com as well as other retailers. This is where it fits in with the rest of the Galaxy Buds family.

**Is the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Your Gadget Match?**

If you're an Android user looking for the best noise cancellation buds that you can buy in the market today, look no further. I've got them right here. The Galaxy Buds Pro are it and they deserve the Gadget Match seal of approval if you're willing to spend the $200 for them, I say go ahead. They're worth it. But if you're an iPhone user, I'd spend extra on Apple's AirPods Pro. They're just as good and allow you to seamlessly transfer between Apple devices like your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. But if those are not important to you, then sure, Samsung's new Galaxy Buds Pro are a cheaper alternative that are just as good.
