The Recent S4 Update: Moving Apps to External SD Card on Samsung Galaxy S4

There are a lot of improvements in the recent S4 update that came on the Galaxy S4, and I feel one of the most important things about this update is that now you can move the apps that are in the internal storage to an external micro SD card. Not every app is movable, but you can move quite a few of them.
I'm going to show you how to do the same now. This is my Galaxy S4, and it has got the S4 update. The first thing that we'll do is let us look at the storage that's available. I hit this, and as you can see, my internal storage is 13.8 GB. Let's write it down.
I have a 16 gig SD card, out of which 2.6 GB is occupied. For this procedure to work, you need to add a Micro SD card. I would suggest using a fast SD card, such as a class 10 SD card. To move the apps, you just need to go to the settings and locate the 'More' Tab. Go to the application manager, and here you'll find all the apps.
You just need to swipe to the right, and this shows the apps that are running on the SD card. For example, 3D Mark is running from the SD card, and these are the apps that can be moved. One thing you need to be very clear about is that for big games like Modern Combat 4, only the application portion will get migrated to the SD card, not the whole game data.
For example, if you see this is 1.88 GB, only this portion what do you say? The application portion is just going to get migrated to the SD card, not the SD card app. So, this 1.87 GB that is residing will be staying on the internal memory. It's a thing with the developers, so don't expect all the game data to be migrated to the SD card.
Let's move some of the apps for example, let's migrate this Adroid and this 8.7 MB should be migrated to the SD card. You just hit this, and it will move it to the SD card that's moved, and we go back. It gets check mark, and also let me move this ever note.
Let's move that to the SD card, and that's moving again. So, not every app can be moved. Let's also move some of the other apps. Let's also move one of the big games, as I said Modern Combat 4 is a pretty big game with 1.95 GB. But again, the major part 1.87 GB that's the SD card app.
This won't move only the application portion will get migrated to the SD card, not the whole game data. So, it's not the ideal solution but yes you can move some of the apps so it's moving and again it can take some time for big apps. Let's go back again as you can see we moved a couple of apps 1 2 three four apps.
Now let me get out of this and let's go to the storage. If you noticed, yes we did get some free space internal storage earlier as we noted was 13.08 gigs now it's been reduced to 12.92% gigs now it's 2.78 gigs. So again not uh you can't move the whole big games on the m SD card as of now but again uh only part of the application made core application can be moved to the micro SD card.
Again, not every application can be moved so this is how you move apps from the internal memory to the SD card on the Samsung Galaxy S4.
