The Mac Gaming Experience: Debunking the Myths
When it comes to gaming on a Mac, many people assume that it's not possible to have a good gaming experience due to the limited game selection and upgradeability. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. As Chris from Daily Tech explains, "You don't buy a Mac as a primary gaming device," but rather for its style and design appeal. Those who do purchase a Mac are often designers, video editors, or individuals who value the aesthetic of their computer.
While it's true that Macs tend to be pricier than other gaming devices, this doesn't mean that they can't handle demanding games. In fact, Chris's 27-inch retina iMac with a 4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 32 gigs of RAM, and an AMD Radeon R9 Graphics card is capable of playing a wide range of games at high settings. To get the most out of your Mac's gaming capabilities, it's essential to know where to look for games.
The first step in finding decent games on a Mac is to expand beyond the Mac App Store. While the store offers some great titles, its selection is limited compared to other platforms. However, by exploring the Steam Universe, gamers can access a vast library of games with respectable graphics and gameplay. Chris mentions that he's been enjoying games like XCOM 2, Alien Isolation, and the latest edition of Home World, all of which are available on Mac.
When it comes to gaming on a Mac, it's also worth noting that some games are more demanding than others. While Chris's iMac can handle most modern titles at high settings, it may struggle with ultra-hardcore settings or games that require a lot of processing power. However, by playing in 5K settings whenever possible and optimizing the computer for gaming, users can still get an excellent gaming experience.
In addition to its impressive hardware, Chris's iMac also features the Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard, which are not necessarily designed for gaming but can still provide a great experience. To get the most out of these peripherals, users need to make sure that they're using them correctly. For example, checking the box in keyboard settings to use all F1-F2-Etc keys as standard function keys is essential for controlling volume and other functions.
Ultimately, the Mac gaming experience may not be as intense or demanding as some other platforms, but it can still provide a great deal of fun and enjoyment. By understanding what games are available on Mac, how to optimize the computer for gaming, and using the right peripherals, users can have an excellent time playing their favorite titles.

actually there's a decent selection of new games with respectable Graphics that are a lot of fun to play so some of the games that I've been having fun playing lately include XCOM 2 alien isolation and the latest edition of Home World along with World of Tanks and I also have some fun playing games that are a little less Graphics intensive like CS go or super hot now this iMac can play all of these games games really well but unfortunately it can't handle the ultra video settings on either XCOM or alien still on the iMac I do enjoy playing on 5K settings whenever I can and the other games that I mentioned all play flawlessly at their top video settings now the Magic Mouse and magic keyboard are not gaming accessories by any stretch of the imagination but honestly gaming with them is still a blast you will however want to make sure that you get a few things optimized including checking the Box in your keyboard settings that says use all F1 F2 Etc Keys as standard function keys which means you won't be able to control the volume using your keyboard while that setting's turned on also you're probably going to want to disable those hot Corners if you have them turned on because they can show up in certain games now as far as the games that I've already mentioned go XCOM 2 is really solid not only is there a surprising amount of replayability in the campaign mode but original movie that is cool now ever since the original commanding conquer came out man that makes me feel old I've been a huge fan of the RTS genre and home World deserts of kak is definitely a solid entry in that genre now if I could only pick one kind of game type as my favorite sort of game ever it would have to be online multiplayer games and World of Tanks is an excellent one what I really love about this game is that you really have to know what you're doing and there's really no Second Chances if somebody catches you from the side or something you're a goner and that's it so again
