The following are some important things to keep in mind when shopping for treats and goodies such as snacks. The things you should really look out for are vegetable oils added sugars and artificial sweeteners. It's always a good idea to look for a short ingredient list that doesn't include any of these things.
I'm going to show you some of the things that are in my cabinets in my fridge and the places that I found some of these healthy sort of snacks. First off, um this was a pretty cool find. The vanilla espresso almond butter and chocolate coconut peanut butter made by Wild Friends I found them at Fresh Market and first thing I did was I picked these up and I looked at the ingredient list. It was roasted almonds organic Agave organic vanilla espresso and sea salt so there you have it, you have a short ingredient list no um vegetable oils and no artificial sweeteners it's sweetened with agave which as you know is a natural low glycemic sweetener.
So that was a pretty cool find at Fresh Market. Then I have PB2, a lot of people are familiar with these. You get them in chocolate or just plain peanut butter. These are awesome in your protein shakes I know some people put them in their oatmeal but again if you look at the ingredient list it's just made with roasted peanuts sugar and salt. So there's sugar in it but when you go here and you look at the grams there's only one gram of sugar for two tablespoons so it's not full of um sugar, it's low of um sugar and it's a great little add-on to your protein shake.
Also, uh this here is granola. This is pretty cool because a lot of times people think of granola as a healthy snack but often times granolas have a lot of vegetable oils in them and added sugar. This one here is made by the company Food for Life um Ezekiel 49 they make like a lot of Breads and and things like that so um ingredient list is pretty short everything is sprouted organic, there's no added sugars and there are no vegetable oils.
This I found at the regular grocery store our Publix you can also look online um or maybe in Whole Foods. Lastly everybody loves potato chips on occasion these are from Trader Joe's and it's pretty cool because when you go and look at your ingredients you see potatoes olive oil and salt plain and simple no vegetable oils which is really hard to find nowadays.
So these I like to keep for the weekends, um for that little snack. So cool thing that I love to get here at Whole Foods uh this is actually a company Glazer Organic Farms they're made here locally but I know you can find them in a lot of Whole Foods. These are um little treats and snacks that are healthy, they're made from all raw organic ingredients like um organic raisins organic raw almonds organic dates so on and so forth.
You have to keep them in the fridge cuz they don't have a long shelf life cuz there are no preservatives in them. I have my uh glutenfree bread this is one of the best glutenfree breads that I've found it's made by Canyon Bak house and a lot of times people think that because it's gluten-free it's going to be healthy but again they typically have a lot of vegetable oils and soy in them um.
This is the only one that I found that does not. It has a short ingredient list and it has olive oil in it which is pretty awesome. Peanut butter and jelly is a snack that I like to enjoy sometimes and I found this sugarfree Jam it's made by Nature's Hol I found this at um Whole Foods and the cool thing about it is it's sweetened with Xylitol and xylol is a natural plant sweetener so it's it tastes really good and most jams are typically hard to find that don't have a lot of ADD sugar in them.
So this is a pretty cool one. Lastly, um ketchup Everyone likes to have ketchup in their house for their kids hot dogs hamburgers that sort of thing it's typically really high in added sugar this is sweetened with agave nectar so um it was something I think that I got at um Fresh Market or Whole Foods so really if you look it's out there, you just have to be aware what you're looking for.
