The Exclusivity of the Porsche Design Mates RS: Is it Worth the Premium?
Perhaps you're looking for some exclusivity in your smartphone, and there's no better way to achieve that than with the Porsche Design Mates RS. This phone is a masterclass in design, featuring a logo on the back that's both stylish and recognizable. The Mates RS takes its cues from the Porsche Design Made 10, which already impressed with its sleek design and premium feel. But does this phone live up to the hype?
The Porsche Design Mates RS features all the best bits of the P20 Pro, combined with some unique touches that make it truly special. The body is designed to be slim and comfortable, with a wonderful curve around the sides that makes it easy to hold. It's also surprisingly light, despite its premium feel. The rear panel boasts a mirror finish that's both reflective and super attractive – yes, you'll get lots of fingerprints, but it's worth it for the look alone. But what really sets this phone apart is its camera system.
The Mates RS features the same triple lens camera as the P20 Pro, with a 22MP black-and-white sensor, a RGB sensor, and a pixel telephoto lens. It's one of the best smartphone cameras on the market, offering incredible image quality that's hard to beat. But what about the display fingerprint sensor? This phone boasts not one, but two fingerprint sensors – one on the back and another built into the screen. The idea behind this is cutting-edge technology, but in practice, it can be a bit hit-or-miss. You'll need to register your fingerprint carefully to avoid issues with the sensor.
The Mates RS also features some impressive storage options, including 512GB of internal space that's simply astonishing. But at what cost? The phone itself is surprisingly pricey, with a starting price that's twice as much as the P20 Pro. Is it worth it for the additional storage and camera upgrades? That's up to you to decide.
But even if money is no object, there are still some downsides to consider. The display fingerprint sensor can be finicky, and the phone's design may not appeal to everyone. And let's not forget that the P20 Pro already offers a similar camera system – does it really need an upgrade? But if you're willing to pay top dollar for premium design and materials, then the Porsche Design Mates RS is certainly worth considering.
What sets this phone apart from its competitors is its attention to detail. The packaging is beautifully designed, with a folio case that provides excellent protection for your device. And when you take it out of the box, you'll find a selection of travel charges and accessories that make it feel like a luxurious addition to any home or office.
Ultimately, whether or not the Porsche Design Mates RS is worth the premium depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you're looking for an exclusive design experience with incredible camera capabilities, then this phone may be the perfect choice. But if budget is a concern, there are certainly more affordable options available that offer similar features and performance.
One of the most impressive things about the Mates RS is its ability to keep cool under pressure. The phone's cooling system is designed to dissipate heat quickly, ensuring that your device stays at a safe operating temperature even during intense gaming sessions or video editing tasks. And with up to 512GB of storage, you'll never have to worry about running out of space for your files and apps.
But what really sets this phone apart from its competitors is its attention to detail. The design team behind the Mates RS has clearly put a lot of thought into creating a device that's both functional and beautiful. From the subtle curves of the body to the premium materials used throughout, every aspect of this phone feels designed with the user in mind.
So if you're looking for an exclusive smartphone experience that combines stunning design with incredible camera capabilities, then the Porsche Design Mates RS is certainly worth considering. It may come with a hefty price tag, but for those who can afford it, this phone offers a truly unique and luxurious mobile experience.
