The Lotus Evija is a three-cylinder supercar that's making waves in the automotive world. As soon as I got behind the wheel, I knew it was special. me immediately which was legitimately i will tell you legitimately martin i bought this four hours ago um and i said um how much do you want uh it's about 10 grand less than they were new maybe a little bit more yeah um and then it had oh so you've got a bargain it had 50 yeah got a bargain so i got probably whatever the numbers are in your country i got about 20 off the new price but it is a brand new car so you got all the warranty all or whatever so it's sat in storage since someone bought it it's never been thrashed off it about four hours ago um but no that that's it so that's that's it man 70k that's exciting what is the car for those of you wondering this is what i know so far martin probably knows more the gi yaris it's a yarism name but only a bit of its yaris it's all-wheel drive turbocharged manual 200 kilowatts in-line 3 turbocharged inside it's actually a nice car i don't know if this is a carbon fiber roof i haven't looked at all the nerd stats the back half of it is kind of based on a corolla is my understanding and the way they made this car was they modified a yaris probably inspired by our yaris videos i'm just saying well the timing's right there they would have seen them hilton yes um so uh they basically got a yaris modified it probably copied us and then re-engineered that to make that let's have a look underneath never owned a car this new or fancy before i don't know i'm saying this about a toyota yaris but it's like i i i don't know i'm a bit i don't know what to say let's have a look under there martin 3 cylinder 200 kilowatts that's crazy oh look at it that's it's got a little red thing on it that's cool that's cool it's so new it says turbo one i've never had something with a vacuum line that's supple dude it's got supple vacuum lines and martin right yeah that's the like skunk works of of toyota look at it dude all the turbos on the back of the engine like a euro car or is it yeah it is wow man electronic throttle what else cost is the electronic throttle that's new martin you can sit in it if you want injection i can what you can sit in it it is yours did i give you the key bonnet's so light aluminium bonnet what do they weigh like a ton and a bit um they weigh more than a mini no they weigh more than an up it's fat it's oh my god but it's got new car smell yeah i've been in new cars i've never owned one yeah martin two doors golf gti front-wheel drive there's a two-door golf r but that's a two-liter engine but also this is little three three cylinder 1.6 left it's like a big three cylinder yeah with the turbo on it and people are already going crazy with these things aren't they like they're already making big power and new car means i can just like drive it and thrash it i don't have to buy a spare engine dailying the super turbo yes because there's semi-slicks on super gramps and the e30 is just wild to daily so i can daily this dude i can daily this thing yeah it's like god doesn't have aircon it i assume it does mountains cars these days mate they're fantastic car with aircon and a turbo and you don't have to pull the aircon off to have a turbo i know amazing um let's go for a drive yeah let's go martin it's already got castrol edge oil in it by the looks of things professional castrol edge look at that unreal man that's amazing cool i'm so keen let's drive it yep let's go all right martin first ride you never driven one of these either no i've never driven one just seen it with the tracks and heard that they're good well just plant it oh wow whoa is that real noise yeah yeah i think that's got a real growly weird kind of noise it sounds like it's coming from the back i don't know if it's got a fakey sound actor thing but it's it sounds like it's coming from the back but three cylinders always sound kind of angry don't they a little almost a little diesel yeah yeah far out that's fast that's three cylinder that wait that says is that normal hold on oh my dash just now it's sport my dash just lit up red now is it louder well i don't know but i gather that now that's like a different booster and what happens if you plant it again oh it's just yeah there's way more intake that's cool you got a little boost setting thing down there i'm just hitting the wipers on the wrong side and that's normal and then you've also got a track mode which i won't do because it probably turns off lots of your business safety stuff but i'll leave your sport on yeah it feels good man and just like nice analog stuff digital in the middle but nice analog gauges elsewhere yes and i'm really talking the gearing's good like that's a good second gear sitting at 40k an hour and give a little stab up to the speed limit and away you go yeah that's cool man super responsive and you can hear the turbo whistling too yes which is pretty cool unlocking that oh dude i can't wait proper filter on it all right give it a bit martin oh it's gonna hit up display oh that's great man the brakes lots of your business safety stuff but i'll leave your sport on yeah it feels good man and just like nice analog stuff digital in the middle but nice analog gauges elsewhere yes and i'm really talking the gearing's good like that's a good second gear sitting at 40k an hour and give a little stab up to the speed limit and away you go yeah that's cool man super responsive and you can hear the turbo whistling too yes which is pretty cool unlocking that oh dude i can't wait proper filter on it all right give it a bit martin oh it's gonna hit up display oh that's great man the brakes are so good cool i get it i totally get it i also get the limitations small two-door car useless if you want to put six people in it so there's a lotus yeah so the lotus this is like the good bits of a lotus but i actually like that because it's a small car which is mad for around town yeah easy to park easy to you know deal with not huge on fuel all that all those good things but goes real fast anyway we'll learn more about it um and then at some stage uh do some mods in a little while i don't know if that'll be next time or in three months who knows just drive it for a bit yeah my thing is like always if you can take it to a track or go do something yeah it's like the average internet thing is just throw everything at it but with a car like this it's so good already yeah has done a great job um you know and like the looks aren't for everyone they're not they're not for me to be honest but it's from certain angles it looks fat certain angles that looks rewind 20 years and get a stock tour to echo yes and it's the same car yeah you can find it it's coming a long way it's freaking yeah take it to a trailer i will gladly accept this gift of your uh of your doing thank you and well done
