A Look at the Upcoming iPhone: A Hands-On Review
Every time I say "brush gold," I meant to say "blush gold." It's become a bit of a running joke for me, and I've made a conscious effort to correct it. So, whenever you hear me say "brush gold," just know that I actually mean "blush gold." This color is one of the new additions to the iPhone 8 lineup, and it's definitely an eye-catching shade.
Next month, Apple will be releasing not one, but two new iPhones: the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 8. We'll be getting a closer look at these devices, and I'm excited to share my thoughts with you. To give you a better idea of what to expect, we have some models on hand that are basically just without the internal components.
These models are essentially what an iPhone will look like next month, minus the guts inside. They're also pretty good-looking people – yes, that's exactly what I mean! These models serve as an interpretation of what we can expect from Apple's new devices. Let me show you a few examples. For instance, here's my iPhone 7s Plus model right now.
This thing feels crazy compared to the previous generations. The 7s is only available in one size – the 7s Plus has a slightly larger screen and more internal components. On the other hand, we have three different colors for the iPhone 8: jet black, mirror-like silver, and this blush gold that's actually quite interesting.
The blush gold color is supposed to replace the new rose gold, and it looks... well, I'm not entirely sure what it's like yet. At first glance, it seems coppery, but I'm still waiting for my initial impression. The three colors on the iPhone 8 are quite different from those on previous models.
Moving on to other features, one of the biggest differences between the new iPhone and its predecessors is the glass back. We can see this effect in our model right here, but it's no longer going to be a metal back. So, what's replacing the metal? Wireless charging, of course!
Wireless charging has been a long-awaited feature for many Apple fans, including me. I've always dreamed of being able to just put my phone down and have it charge wirelessly – and now that it's finally happening, I'm excited to see how this technology will change our lives.
I actually did a challenge with wireless charging myself. For eight days straight, I used only wireless charging on my iPhone 7 Plus. It was amazing, and I think you'll be amazed too once you get your hands on the new iPhone 8.
Now, let's talk about the internal components of these devices. Apple has been adding an "s" to the previous model name every year – that's how we got the iPhone 7s Plus from the iPhone 7. However, this time around is different. We're getting a second-generation device with a glass back and new color options.
So, what can you expect from these devices? The main difference between the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus is that the latter has a slightly larger screen and more internal components. The camera on both devices will be the same as their predecessors. There's also a change in connectivity: we're getting lightning to USB-C or, rather, USB-C to lightning – Apple wants to get rid of those old ports.

Got this mirror likeOne the jet black one and then this blush gold whereas the 7s and 7s plusThey are the ones that look really similar to the iPhone 7 and iphone 7 plus. I even got one right hereSo this is my seven plus compared to the 7s plusAnd then we got an iPhone 7 compared to the 7 right here, 7sSo the first difference that you can tell and this is going to be a big thing on the 8's and 7s'sIs this glass back, you can see it on the 7s right here, but it's no longer going to be metalWhy is this? You've been waiting for it, I've been waiting for it, all my lifeI'm 20 and this has been a wish of mine for probably 10, no just kiddingWell no, the iphone has actually been for 10 yearsI've been waiting for it for a whileAnd you guys probably too. So basically what this allows you to do is just put your phone downAnd it'll just wirelessly charge no cables needed, and I actually did a challenge with thisI lived with an iPhone 7 plus for about 8 days using nothing but wireless charging, so it can be doneI did it a little bit early, and that's going to be amazingThere's so many phones and so many different names this year, so I'm just going to pick one phoneAnd let you guys know, so basicallyThe 7s and 7s plus are going to be insane, they're the second generation of the iPhone 7 and 7 plusYou know how Apple just adds an s for the next year. InsteadWe're getting that and the iPhone 8 so on the 7s you're going to get a glass backThis is hella' trippy compared to what we're all used to at least recentlyWith the iPhones being metal. Why is there going to be a glass back? Because we're getting the wireless charging and that looks awesomeSo on the side you're gonna get this shiny just edge it just looksIt's this shiny just edge that just wraps aroundAnd I don't know. I don't know. The sides I like it, I hope it's actually this shinyMaybe on just this new color mirror like silver one it looks good at the bottomWe're still going to get lightningBut the main difference is on both phones it's going to be lightning to usb c or wait, usb c to lightningThey're trying to get rid of the old usb port. You're gonna get the same camera on theSeven-plus that you see on the 7s plus and with the iphone 7s, dude there's so many namesI hope you guys are following along. How are they doing this it's crazySo I got an iPhone 7 here when I hold it up to the iPhone 8 it's a little bit biggerYou know nothing too crazy, but what's cool is on the iPhone 7 also going to be the 7s?It's a 4.7 inch screen, so if you're like me, and you want a bigger screenBut don't want to have to get a bigger phone on the iPhone 8 there's only going to be one size and this right hereIs the full screen experience. Picture this, it doesn't workIt's just a model having a full screen. How sick would that be, there's not even a home buttonWhich I kind of knew wasn't going to happen, they got rid of the headphone jack on the iphone 7There's no button on the iPhone 8 so how you unlock this is with facial recognition, that's rightJust look at your phone, and it'll know if it's you apparently it's more secure than a fingerprintI don't really kn- what okayI kind of know how that would go downBut that would be insane. Another thing that you're supposed to see only on the iPhone 8 because on the iPhone 7sHere doesn't have it is silence notifications. So when you're using your phoneYou know just like normal on the iPhone 8 and you get a notification since it knows your looking at itIt won't alert you how awesome is that?Notifications get to be notifications because when you're on your phoneYou see the alerts you know you can do your thing with it when you're not near your phoneThat's the point of a notification. That's going to be amazing and this is all going to go down in iOS 11So on the iPhone 8, you're getting iOS 11, and on the 7s iOS 11 is going downI'm interested to see what other things we get. like a front-facing camera upgrade seems like it's gonna happenThis all screen iphone with this blush gold, I like it, I like it. It's shiny, it feels goodSame buttons on the side you know your, your standard stuff, and then you've got a vertical camera on the backThis is a huge change over the 7sIt's gonna be the same kind of camera as before but on the 8 it's going to be vertical I'm guessing vertical videos is going to beA thing like snapchatVideo, just more on hereHow sick would it be, this is just an idea if all you had to do is hold your phone like this and it couldSomehow shift it around and give you vertical or horizontalVideo just with this camera that's something I'm thinking, but the iphone 8Glass at lastI'm just thinking right now since the 7s is going to be having glass on the back and on the frontSame with the iPhone 8It's gonna be drop city, I'm scared, I'm going to need a case, and I don't know if you guys rememberBut I got some iphone 8 cases earlier this year.
