for the C6 the the Grand Sport came out in 2010 and it was basically the C 6 Corvette was released in 05 and it was basically like a big refresh to the car because you know the the C6 was 5 years old at that point and the Grand Sport what it was was basically the Z06 body with just an updated uh regular Corvette underneath uh but you know pretty severely updated new interior and a lot of different stuff so you know there was a lot of speculation that would Chevrolet do a Grand Sport for the C7 generation maybe a lot of people thought they weren't going to do it at all and most people thought you know if they were going to do it it's going to be a while because you think for the C6 the C6 came out in 05 Grand Sport came in 010 yeah 010 in 10 5 years later um so the C7 generation probably wasn't going to get one if at all until like maybe 18 19 at the earliest the absolute earliest you know here we are 3 years after the C7 release and we have a Grand Sport confirmed now and that is just really really cool because the Grand Sport is just like the old version is the Z6 body but an updated regular Corvette underneath and as you guys know one of my beefs with the Z6 was the cooling issues and quite frankly I'm not a fan that it has a supercharge to begin with I'd much prefer an naturally aspirated co6 so this is like the answer to everything that I've been wanting this is like a dream come true this car um it has all the looks and every all the great stuff about the co6 but not the engine which I wasn't necessarily a great fan of um and as I'm getting ready to search for a new car this has thrown a total total curveball into the mix here that is really really something cool so um yeah I'm excited to hear some more information about it but I assume that's what it's going to be I mean that that's what it is basically in the little press release they did I'm sure there'll be some little details added in as time goes on in the car action the nearest production but what we know is that it will be a 2017 model year now the order banks for Corvettes uh for the next model year usually happen around late summer so I would expect to be able to order this car sometime in
