OnePlus 8 Pro - Everything We Know...
The Future of OnePlus Cameras: A Five-Megapixel Color Filter Camera
The fourth camera on a smartphone is quite interesting, as it's a five-megapixel color filter camera. This technology allows for better low-light performance and more detailed images. While we don't know exactly what this new camera will do yet, rumors suggest that it will enable features like a new night portrait mode, 3-HDR video, and cinematic effects.
OnePlus 8 vs OnePlus 8 Pro: Camera Comparison
For the OnePlus 8, you won't be getting cameras quite at the level of the OnePlus 8 Pro. The primary camera on the OnePlus 8 is a 48-megapixel camera, accompanied by a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a two-megapixel depth sensor. Both devices will have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand, the OnePlus 8 Pro has an improved camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a two-megapixel depth sensor. The OnePlus 8 Pro also features a more advanced telephoto lens.
Performance and Internals
Both devices will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, along with the X55 modem to enable 5G connectivity. This means that both phones will offer fast performance and reliable internet connectivity. For storage, both devices are available in either 128 or 256 gigabyte options, with UFS 3.0 storage. The OnePlus 8 Pro has faster LPDDR5 RAM, which should provide a smoother user experience.
Software
As expected, both devices will run on Android 10 with OxygenOS on top. OnePlus devices have always been known for their fast software updates and timely security patches. This means that users can expect regular updates and improvements to the operating system.
Speakers and Sound Quality
Both devices will feature stereo speakers, including one bottom-firing speaker and one in the earpiece. This design should provide a more immersive audio experience, with better sound quality and depth. The OnePlus 8 Pro also features a more advanced speaker setup, with dual drivers that should enhance bass and treble.
Batteries and Charging
The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a larger 4,510mAh battery, while the OnePlus 8 has a smaller 4,300mAh battery. Both devices support fast charging, including the OnePlus's 30-watt Warp Charge technology. The OnePlus 8 Pro also features wireless charging for the first time on a OnePlus device, with speeds reaching up to 30 watts.
Wireless Charging and Power Share
The OnePlus 8 Pro is set to become the first OnePlus device to feature wireless charging, which should make it more convenient for users who want to charge their phone without being tethered to a cable. Wireless power share is also expected to be supported on the OnePlus 8 Pro, although this will be slower at just three watts.
Pricing and Availability
The price of both devices has not been officially announced yet, but based on the features and specs, we can expect them to be priced higher than last year's models. The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to cost around £800-£850, while the OnePlus 8 will likely start at around £650.
Availability
Both devices are expected to be shipped out within a week or two of the official announcement date, which is set for April 14th. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- OnePlus has just confirmedthe official announcement datefor the OnePlus 8 series, and with around twoweeks to go to that date,we pretty much already knoweverything there is to know. What's up, guys?Saf here on SuperSafTV, and in this video,we're going to break downall the leaks and rumorsSuperSaf style. So firstly, it does looklike we're going to haveat least two OnePlus devices, the OnePlus 8 as wellas the OnePlus 8 Pro.There's also some rumorsthat there may be a OnePlus 8 Light, but we don't know too muchabout that device as yet.But we do know quite a bitabout the 8 and the 8 Pro.And initially, if we lookat the front of the devices, from all the leaks and rumors that we see, they do look pretty much exactly the sameas the OPPO Find X2 series. So we've got curveddisplays, minimal bezels, with a punch out towardsthe left hand side. Now, this is kind of expected, because OPPO is a sistercompany for OnePlus, and we've seen this many times beforewhere OPPO announces something newand then those features eventually dotrickle down to the OnePlus series. And this is not necessarily a bad thing, because the Find X2 Pro currently hasone of the best displays in the market. So the OnePlus 8 Pro is goingto have a 6.78 inch display. This is what OnePlusare going to be callinga Super Fluid AMOLED display, and that is because it's going to havea 120-hertz refresh ratewith a Quad HD+ resolution. Now, having used the Find X2 Profor the better part of last month,I can tell you that this is areally, really nice display. It's very smooth, it's very sharp, the colors are great, thebrightness is also on point. So I'm personally not disappointedthat this is making itsway to the OnePlus 8 Pro.Now the OnePlus 8,although it's going to lookvery similar from the front,is going to be a 6.55inch Fluid AMOLED display. It's going to have a Full HD+ resolutionwith a 90-hertz refresh rate.So still a high refresh rate, but not quite on the levelof the OnePlus 8 Pro.Both devices are also going to havean in-display optical fingerprint scanner, like we've seen from OnePlus before. Now, some of you guys may be disappointedthat we have a punch-outnow, and not a pop-up camera, giving the full screenexperience that we sawon the OnePlus 7 Pro aswell as the OnePlus 7T Pro,but it looks likeOnePlus may be doing thisbecause the OnePlus 8 Proat least is going to havean official IP68water-and-dust-resistant rating.By having mechanical moving parts,it does make getting anofficial IP rating difficult. So this may be one of thereasons why they've done this.I'm not too sure. What do you guys thinkabout the punch-out?Is it something that you don't mind,or would you have preferred a pop-out?Definitely let me knowin the comments below. Now, although the OnePlus 8 Prois going to have that official IP rating, the OnePlus 8 is not going tohave that official IP rating. So it's still probably going to bepretty water and dust resistant, except it's just notgoing to have that ratingto keep that price lower. Now, this takes us onto the build and design. So both devices do havecurved glass from the front, and curved glass from the backas well, with a metal frame. And from the back, realistically speaking, these do look quite similar to what we hadon the OnePlus 7 Pro last year.So we do have a center cameramodule on both devices, and we're also going to begetting a few new colors. So on the OnePlus 8 Pro,there's going to be a black,a blue, as well as a green. With the OnePlus 8, there's goingto be a black also, a green,as well as a glow color, which is a bit of a multicolorsimilar to what we've seen on the Note 10,but this is going to havemore of a matte finishcompared to that glossyfinish on the Note 10.Now, let's talk a littlebit about the cameras. So the OnePlus 8 Pro is goingto have a quad camera setup, whereas the OnePlus 8 is goingto have a triple camera setup. Now, let's initially talkedabout the OnePlus 8 Pro,because this is where the camerashave taken a bit of a leap forward, and some of the cameras are once againquite similar to the Find X2 Pro.So the primary camera isa 48-megapixel camera. It's Sony's new IMX689 sensorwith an f/1.8 aperture. It's quite a large sensor size. And this time around, the ultra-wide camerais also 48 megapixels,it's got an f/2.2 aperture, and it's using Sony's IMX586 sensor. What's interesting, isthat this is the sensorthat was used in the primary cameraof the last year's of OnePlus devices. So this is now being usedfor the ultra-wide camera. So definitely a welcome improvement here. Now, with both of these cameras, although they are 48 megapixels, you are going to be using pixel binningand you will be shootingat around 12 megapixelson a general basis. And for the third camera on the 8 Pro,it is going to be a telephotocamera with eight megapixels, and this is going to givethree times optical zoomand up to 30 times digital zoom.So it's not going to be on thelevel of the periscope zoomthat we've got on the Find X2 Pro.And finally, the fourthcamera is quite interesting, because this is a five-megapixelcolor filter camera. Now, what is exactly going to do,I'm not too sure at this point in time. But we have heard rumoredthat there are going to besome new features, such asa new night portrait mode,3-HDR video, as well as cinematic effects. So I'm assuming this new camerais going to help towardssome of these new features. Now, for the OnePlus 8, you'renot going to be getting camerasquite at the level of the OnePlus 8 Pro,so you're going to have aprimary 48-megapixel camera. There's also a 16-megapixelultra-wide camera,as well as a two-megapixel depth sensor. Both devices are going to havea 16-megapixel front-facing camera. And speaking of theperformance, the internals, you'll be pleased toknow that both of theseare going to be powered by theQualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, along with the X55 modem to enable 5G.And for storage, both devicesare going to be availablein either 128 or 256 gigabyteoptions, with UFS 3.0 storage. So this is going to be super fast. Now for the RAM, they'reboth going to be availablein either eight or 12 gigabytes of RAM,but the OnePlus 8 Pro is goingto have faster LPDDR5 RAM.For the software, as expected,Android 10 with OxygenOS on top.OnePlus devices, in my experience, some of the fastest devices out there. So I've got no doubt that thisis also going to carry on hereon the new OnePlus devices. For the speakers, both aregoing to have stereo speakers. So there's going to be one bottom-firingas well as one in the earpiece. And for the batteries, the OnePlus 8 Prois going to come in witha larger 4,510mAh battery, versus the 4,300mAhbattery on the OnePlus 8.Both devices are going to supportOnePlus's 30 watt Warp Charge. So this is very, very fast charging. It's not quite on the level from OPPO,with their 65 watt SuperVOOC 2.0.But what's interesting isthat the OnePlus 8 Pro,finally, for the firsttime on a OnePlus device,is going to have wireless charging. And what's even more excitingis that this is going to be30-watt wireless charging. So it's going to be very, very fast. Now, OnePlus have traditionally saidthat the reason they've notgone with wireless chargingis because it's just not going to beon the same speed as wired charging. But it looks like they'vemanaged to figure this outwith wireless charging technologygetting better and better, and this is very exciting. It's something that I definitely do misswhenever I'm using a OnePlus device. There's also going tobe wireless power share. So being able to reverse wireless chargeusing the OnePlus 8 Pro,although this is going to bepretty slow, at just three watts. This also indicates to me that OnePlusare likely to be introducingsome wireless earbudsthat you can wirelesslycharge on the OnePlus 8 Pro.Again, this is just me guessing, but it seems to be quite likely. The OnePlus 8 however,is not going to be gettingwireless charging, unfortunately. Now, what about pricing and availability? So with these new featuresand the official IP ratingand things like that, the price is of course going to be highercompared to what we had last year. There's no real definitivepricing out as yet,but I'd expect the OnePlus 8 Proto come in at around800 to 850 pounds maybe. This would put it more in linewith some of the flagshipsthat it's competing with. And the OnePlus 8, I would predict, will be coming in at around 650 pounds. That's my guess based on thefeatures that it's come in withand comparing it to last year's models. In terms of availability, theyare likely to be shipped outmaybe a week or two after theofficial announcement date, which is On the 14th of April. And of course, as soon asthe announcement is made,I'm going to be doing lots ofcoverage here on the channel,SuperSaf style. So make sure you do subscribeand hit that bell iconso you don't miss any of that content. What do you guys think of the OnePlus 8and the OnePlus 8 Probased on these current leaks and rumors?Definitely let me knowin the comments below.I hope you enjoyed thisvideo and found it useful. If you did, then do hit thatthumbs up button for me.Thanks for watching. This is Saf on SuperSaf
