Post-CES 2020 - All Of The Best Gear For Apple Users

**Smart Home Automation**

When it comes to smart home automation, there are many exciting options available. One popular choice is a smart thermostat that can learn your temperature preferences and adjust the heating and cooling accordingly. This means you don't have to keep heating up water all day when you're not home or in bed, which can be a significant energy saver.

Another option is a level smart lock that can be installed easily, even if you're not comfortable with electrical panels. This lock can monitor your rooms and provide you with detailed information about energy usage around the house. It's also incredibly convenient to install, making it a great choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home security system.

For those who want to keep their existing door hardware, there's a smart lock that can be installed entirely within your door. This level smart lock is hidden from view and features a massive LED floodlight that can be turned on and off manually or scheduled in advance. It also works with Apple's HomeKit, providing an added layer of security and reliability for your home.

**Smart Cameras**

In the world of smart home cameras, Arlo has made a name for itself with its low-pro cameras. One model, the Pro 3, features a massive LED floodlight that can be turned on and off manually or scheduled in advance. However, one major drawback is that it doesn't support HomeKit out of the box, although this may change in future updates.

**Wireless Charging**

At CES 2020, there were several exciting new wireless charging options available. One notable example was a charger that could charge multiple devices at once, including an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. What made it particularly unique was its modular design, which allowed you to remove all the charging components and lay them flat when not in use.

**HomeKit Integration**

One of the biggest highlights from CES 2020 was the introduction of HomeKit integration into several new smart home products. One notable example is the August Wi-Fi door lock, which features a sleek and compact design that's significantly smaller than its predecessor. The batteries are still housed in the front of the lock, making it easy to replace them when they need to be replaced.

The August Wi-Fi door lock also integrates seamlessly with Apple's HomeKit platform, providing users with a secure and reliable way to control their home security system from their iPhone or iPad. With its slim design and intuitive interface, this lock is sure to become a favorite among HomeKit enthusiasts.

there's a lot going on here a lot of power in this tiny little box so you can always take this with you jumpstart any of your gear power up your phone's per hour power up your USB a devices fire up anything else I get camera or laptop you really have a lot of options and of course it comes in several different colors in those AC or those jumper cables are included in the BA one of the most unique homekit products we saw this year was the Wemo react this is just a small in wall switch but you can't actually control your devices with this instead it can control your other devices so for example a wireless charger have this plugged into the wall plug your wireless charger in here and then whenever it detects that it's charging your phone you can trigger it to turn on a light or the inverse we're gonna have a lot of fun coming up with ideas on how to use it now we have the STM charge tree STM stands for smarter than most and that's true here instead of the usual multi point where I was charges that we see this thing goes up instead of out so you can charge three devices at once including your phone there on the front a second phone or set of ear pods on the bottom and then an Apple watch here on the top it's a great unique design speaking of chargers this is the new suteki 108 Y multi charger so if bits here on the palm of your hand but instead of just one output for your Mac it actually has four outputs there are two of USB C ports and two USB a ports the USB C boards one of them can do 90 watts of output perfect for your MacBook Pro and the other can do an additional 18 for something like your iPad pro alongside it and then of course you get two USB ports for an iPhone and your Apple watch really charge everything as fast as possible there's no way we could wrap up CES without talking about the bridge Pro Plus this thing has conquered the headlines with its innovative design it's all aluminum body really great keyboard and the inclusion of a trackpad all the same time for the 11 inch and 12 29 inch ipad pro's supports multiple gestures for things like opening up the dock or app and opening up a cap expose and of course there are hot corner options to go into the corner to jump to your home screen or whatever actions you program them at according to glass touch pad so it feels really great to move around on just as apples to on the MacBook Pros themselves productivity users are going to be stoked moving on to the smart home again philips hue is announcing a several new products in their lineup first is the appear this has sharp triangular beams going up and down and of course it's boards all the multiple colors that hew supports with all their other colored bulbs so a really great accent and functional piece for the outside of the house aside from on the house products we have new-path lighting in the form of the econ ik this is a traditional pathway in a new size it's very easy to install just connect to a cable they were also introducing new power supplies and extension cables you can connect even more of these things together they do support all the colors just like the other products they are really great especially a lot of paths to light up and you're looking for a really great easy way to do that that can integrate with other smart home platforms including apple's homekit finally we have the lily excel this is a larger more powerful spotlight than you had in the past you can see Lily hiding in the corner over there on the left it's a very small spotlight and the lily XL is a very similar just takes on a larger design and outputs a whole lot more light so you view a bigger accents that you want to get or a larger house that you need to light up then this is definitely something to check out when it comes to wireless chargers there is one that everyone needs to keep kind of on their radar that's the Nomad base station pro and what's unique about this other than the fantastic build quality the metal body the leather on the top is it actually is using free placement technology called free power and you can essentially place your devices anywhere you want on top of the service and they're going to continuously charge move around and will charge the whole time they're not gonna keep beeping at you every time they reconnect it's so much more effortless than any other wireless charger out there and this is just the beginning as that free power technology takes off we're gonna see and other form factors and other designs so this three top doesn't work for you you wants me a little bit smaller or maybe a little bit bigger just keep your eyes out and hopefully down the line we're gonna see additional models coming out that same technology that just makes wireless charging so much easier and stress-free of course if you want something a little bit more modular then check out the base links from skosh basically this is a large charging device that is completely modular you can build it to your exact specs based on what you need to charge whether you just need to add additional USB C and USB a ports whether you want wireless chargers whether you need one or two or more Apple watch with magnetic charging pucks or if you need like we have here at the far left this vertical charging stand to charge larger electronics like tablets or readers they can all be plugged in around back and again this is completely modular so you just pick up the pieces that you need Lowell does a you know a kit version with a couple different pieces included and then you can go from there build on add your own or just use a peaches the pieces individually it comes in white or black though the white version is going to be an Apple store exclusive starting off if you want a more compact all-in-one charger though check out the new air Omni from pitaka basically it charges everything in terms a six devices all the same time there's a wireless charger up front for your phone the wireless chargers to the left for your air pods or ear pods Pro an Apple watch magnetic charging puck that is MFI certified there in the center that works both up and flat so it supports nightstand mode and there's a charging dock in the back for charging an iPad in either USB sea or lightning versions and there are two additional outputs there on the right-hand side for plugging in other USB devices lagron is out with a new innovative home kit product this year which is drivi a-- a new smart home kit device that basically turns your electrical panel into a smart electrical panel letting you turn any of your devices off from anywhere or at least monitor their energy usage there's a lot of different applications for this but the easy one to kind of highlight the beginning and being able to turn off your hot water heater whenever you're not around so if you're going out to town for a weekend or for a week or on vacation you don't need to keep heating up that hot water the whole time you can just turn that off and not worry about it you can also at least monitor all of your rooms and see how much energy you're using around your house it's even fairly easy to install so if you're comfortable enough with your electrical panel you're comfortable enough to install this if not have a professional handle it another unique home kit application is a level smart lock this is a smart lock that is hidden entirely within your door you never have to see it on the outside so you can keep your existing deadbolt and hardware that you already have and add some smarts by putting this right in the middle the battery itself is housed inside of the deadbolt so you can open the door pop this out replace the battery without having to get into the door every single time and it's gonna last a long time this is only blue - so you're gonna get extended life out of it instead about one of the Wi-Fi versions that go through battery a whole lot faster and like we said it works with apple's homekit so you know that it's going to be secure and safe and reliable for your home so you're looking for a minimalist door lock this is definitely one to check out in the world of smart home cameras Arlo has quite a name for itself in the new philately candidates are low pro three is pretty shocking it basically takes a similar body of the are low pro three and adds a massive LED floodlight right to the front so you can turn this on and off manually from within the app or you can schedule it to turn on and off when a text motion and just add sensitivity adds own and more with it Arlo smart platform unfortunately it doesn't support homekit out of the box though Arlo has been good about adding homekit support to previous cameras along the way now we have another wireless charger here these wireless charges are perverse here at CES 2020 but this one has another unique aspect to it so yes you can charge your iPhone you can charge your air power to charge your Apple watch there on the top but what is unique is that when you're done you can pull all of those things off and lay the charger flat and of course it powers up over USB C so very modular and easy to bring with you when you're hitting the road home kit had a big year this year at CES and that includes the new abode outdoor indoor smart camera so this camera does work with home kit it does the only abode product that works completely standalone you don't need the Gateway to actually use this you can use it by itself or you can use it with the gateway the camera is fairly small those are a few different mounting options depending on what you prefer it can be hardwired using the existing controls or the existing wires from a doorbell or you can mount it anywhere you want indoor or outdoor with just a standard magnetic pivot head all in there and just plug into the wall because like any other camera so you a few different options with this and it works complete with home kit and hopefully in the future home kits secure video finally for our list of our favorite apple focus gear is the updated August Wi-Fi door lock so this August Wi-Fi smart lock is 40 some percent smaller than the previous generation by volume it is significantly smaller significantly thinner and fits closer to the door it's more pronounced oh you can tell when it's open or closed much easier than you could in the past the batteries are still housed in the front so it's really easy to open up and get into those batteries and replace them out when they do need to be replaced it more as akin to a door knob at this point which makes it kind of scream turn me when you know someone is in your house they're not exactly sure what to do so makes it a little bit easier to tell what is going on with this and the best part is it integrates with Wi-Fi completely into the door lock itself so you know that August connect hub to get Wi-Fi access and just like the previous generation it works with apple's homekit so what do you guys think this is a lot of gear there was a ton of Apple stuff at CES so he really had to be picky about what we included as our favorites let me know what you thought
