A Fun Night In with Family: Trying Out New Recipes and Sparkling Tonic Alternatives

So I was thinking about trying out some new recipes with my family, and we stumbled upon this cookbook that has really cool recipes. My mom mentioned it to me while we were at the grocery store, and I thought it would be a fun idea to try something new. The recipes in this cookbook are supposed to be easy to make and require minimal ingredients, which is perfect for a busy family like mine.

We decided to start with some sparkling tonic alternatives that my friend had recommended. These drinks are basically soda alternatives made with natural ingredients and no artificial flavorings or preservatives. I was excited to try them out, especially since they come in fun flavors like cherry vanilla and ginger lemon. We ordered a variety pack of different flavors, including vintage cola, orange squeeze, and strawberry vanilla.

today my hair is definitely falling out of my workout bun and i need to finish my getting ready but i've got a really fun agenda for today and i thought that i would share everything that's going on so we're gonna have lots of coffee and a lot of fun today we um let's see what what is on the agenda first of all i need to you know vamp this thing up and you know you know put my best foot forward i also have been thinking about renovating my bathroom to match the closet a little bit more and that's because the closet is now painted and i'm going to show you how far along we've gotten with the closet because it's going to be 10 days from now that the closet is actually being installed so i'm going to give you a little progress update on how it's going so far and then hopefully in about two weeks we'll be able to give you an actual tour of the act well maybe longer because i still have to get the countertop in i'm just gonna give you updates i'm gonna share it with you and uh yes so if we have going on and all our fun projects so today i'm going to be showing you my closet um i've also got to run to restoration hardware outlet and the west elm outlet i'm hoping that i even though it's just been the weekend i don't know i don't know if they're gonna have what i'm looking for but i'm hoping that maybe they will have a round table for a project that i have coming up we're trying to get it done quickly and everything's on back order so i'm just gonna go see what they have in stock and see if i can somehow luck out i don't have much hope but that's not going to keep me from going so we're gonna head to restoration harbor outlet and there should be a really fun delivery today we're getting a rowing machine delivered and i'm really excited about that because supposedly that keeps you really fit and i'm i'm curious and excited to try it out so you're gonna get to see parts of our house that we've never never shown we actually are having it delivered down to the basement and that has never been shown on this channel so buckle up it's gonna be quite the ride today but first of all let me pull myself together and you know work a little uh hollywood magic on the space and uh the outfit and i'll be back cheers i am feeling a little bit more human and myself so i've been testing out a new uh hair curler it's a bigger barrel so i'm like well we'll see how this goes maybe i shouldn't be doing that while i'm videoing but uh yeah anyways hi hey what are you doing i hired you up here to help i want to go jump in oh did you have good phone calls yes you look really pretty we inadvertently match again that's funny well that's funny well there you go oh god we look like idiots drinking tweedleducks hey that's kind of true well anyways i'm gonna give them a tour of the closet too i know you guys are gonna love it yeah it's so amazing and i need to get to the rh outlet but are you going to be here for the eragoda yes okay perfect i'll take care of that okay that way we can go and shop and he'll be here for the delivery yes she shops better without me no actually i actually i am the grease on that i like make everything fast i'm like go go do it yeah no i am actually worried about shopping alone i'm afraid i don't want action you won't buy anything without me i was like go girl i'm gonna do it but i'm like no i'm only good no it feels great usually what she does she makes me go pay that way you don't feel the pain of it yeah i mean i still pay for it later but it still takes so yes you'll swipe and not think twice about it and i'm like ah but anyways did you want to show them the closet before you go okay you hold the camera and let me show them how about that okay you grab the camera okay i am done to show you the closet okay so we decided not to put the window in so i definitely that lighting is like crazy like okay let's do it yeah it's good once we get in here so i decided not to put the window in and that's because i want to really maximize the amount of storage that i can get in here because honestly i i just love clothing and i think i was going to want to have as much storage space as possible so it's not going to video as well and especially right now we have half the lighting done so it's going to feel a little bit dimmer to you i've actually put the lights on a dimmer because it's going to be really bright once all the lighting comes in wow that's probably driving the camera crazy yeah okay so this is about half the lighting that we're going to have when it's all finished so it's not it's going to be brighter and that's why i put those on a dimmer you show them the uh kelly wurstler lights yes look at those my word i love they're just glowing from here like oh they and i love that perforated little detail on them yeah i um also painted this out it well i didn't paint it i actually paid the painter because there was so much to patch there was so much work it wasn't something that i felt like i could get i'm not very good at sanding and getting that clean look on sheetrock especially with all the big holes that were in here before i showed you guys on the last friday with the baby when it had all the holes the electrician came in and put in everything and they were like 30 at least well and they ripped out the wiring system which leaves big holes massive holes those are hard to patch and go well i think when i would love to be able to diy everything that's just the honest truth but i think knowing what you're good at and when you're outside of your league is really important so for in here i did have my painter come this is in grant beige by benjamin moore and yes that's right i did base in my house but it looks so good it looks so good so good i love it so at the moment the outlets are with the white plates i want to um change those out for something so i haven't decided yet what that's going to be and i i don't know what i'm going to do yet i want to be pretty well and they're weird spaces just in case you're wondering because we are having the the built-ins put in and they'll be the upper ones are for lighting yeah and that lower one is for so there's something open space right here and um i wanted to be able to have an outlet there if i wanted it yeah so it's just an extra so i wanted to make sure once i get everything kind of done then i'll decide these other ones won't show they're gonna be covered up and that's where all the closet lighting is gonna actually get plugged into i'm very excited at the moment we put my dresser back in here uh jack's i i put all this stuff down in the basement so he wouldn't have to keep moving stuff and because we've moved it multiple times last week in and out of this room yeah and we'll see if he gets to come back in afterwards you know what i think is really neat are you enjoying having your own kind of area where i'm not constantly harassing you about yeah because i don't have to organize it then there's no shame i won't look at it i don't know what you're doing our relationship got so much better when i moved out of his closet yeah you know what i think is interesting that you did what is even if you didn't because people are asking all the time like how do i do it if i don't have a big budget yet or if i can't afford it yeah just getting that wiring out of here made such a difference even if you buy these little racks which they're not very expensive on amazon yeah i got these racks to give me temporary storage because i wasn't sure how long the distance was going to be between the paint and the electrician and then actually getting the install so i didn't want to like throw my stuff everywhere these were like are they like around fifty dollars i think yeah so really inexpensive from amazon and the funny thing is you're the worst you walked in and you were like wow we shouldn't have even spent money on the closet system i'm like because this was it looks cute this looks amazing already like if we didn't have the budget right now for that closet i would just stick with this i know it calls it you just don't get all the vertical swords yeah you lose a lot of space if i was going to leave it like this then i would install shelving yeah and just open you just said some open shelves yeah but yeah you could definitely i know i was like oh this is just getting where the wiring sometimes makes it look so mushy i mean you have a dresser and some racks in here it's so cool and uh jack just that was very sweet of you to do some laundry i noticed that you put that in here so he's got my stuff and i just need to put some of this i didn't want to put it away in the wrong place thank you but yeah i'm very picky about where i put things because that way helps me get ready faster um not because i'm you know ocd i'm not actually ocd no you're not i just know that it makes my life easier so yeah at the moment we've got the ikea dresser back in this is gonna be gone there's gonna be a lot of really beautiful drawer closing like handles and lots of drawers lots of hanging space so we're really gonna maximize the space which i think is just gonna be really beautiful and they don't have all the lighting on the top the one thing we did before any of this was that we actually took all the carpeting out i don't know if i even mentioned that before i don't think so we actually put the reclaimed flooring this was a pretty big decision a lot of people ask if it comes from the bathroom into the closet do they put the tile in they put carpet in floor hardwood i did not want to put my toes down on carpet i think it's just gross um pyramid i just did not want any carpet in the house other than on the stairs which i could just you know take out and replace at some point but um yeah i did not put carpet in here and i do not like to have tile in the closet i just find it to be so bizarre and i know if you're living in places maybe like in florida or maybe in parts of california there's places i know in the world where it makes sense to have tile in your closet because it's connected but for us in atlanta we've got hardwood everywhere so put the hardwoods in here which was a little bit of a treat but yeah no i think it's awesome the other thing that i did was that i painted the baseboards and the entire ceiling and every single thing in here is the one color yeah so when the system so the system has back doesn't have a backing on it okay so it's gonna look like everything is built in and you're not gonna notice the difference between the wood i literally color matched the wood to this color so yeah okay we are in the car and jack is going with me so we got this this rower from a brand called ergata but they actually delivered it really fast yeah i said it was taking like 30 45 minutes and it took like 10. yeah it was really quick so i did not go down there and see it because i was busy working on other stuff so i will get to see it with you guys later and check it all out and see if it's going to be cool but i'm excited about it i'll be honest with you i am so excited about it i'm gonna try it out tonight cool i love it make exercising fun and then you'll stick with it right so yeah we're gonna actually head to the rh outlet together yay so that should be fun we're gonna get ourselves into trouble most likely now the two of us together we get into more trouble together and man well i behave when i'm by myself but when we're together we're either gonna get kicked out or buy stuff yeah these are kind of the two options either way we're gonna be in trouble so yeah we're gonna head up there and uh probably play some really loud rock music that my husband hates and drive a little too fast in the car and have a gonna be giving it a try but i haven't tried those before so hopefully you got all the ingredients i hope so it takes me like nine hours at the grocery store they know because you were texting me while i was talking to them and i was like anybody else got someone who can't find anything in the grocery store like i go get a cup of coffee a croissant and then i make my way around what by the way wasn't something that i felt like i could get i'm not very good at sanding and getting that clean look on sheetrock especially with all the big holes that were in here before i showed you guys on the last friday with the baby when it had all the holes the electrician came in and put in everything and they were like 30 at least well and they ripped out the wiring system which leaves big holes massive holes those are hard to patch and go well i think when i would love to be able to diy everything that's just the honest truth but i think knowing what you're good at and when you're outside of your league is really important so for in here i did have my painter come this is in grant beige by benjamin moore and yes that's right i did base in my house but it looks so good it looks so good so good i love it so at the moment the outlets are with the white plates i want to um change those out for something so i haven't decided yet what that's going to be and i i don't know what i'm going to do yet i want to be pretty well and they're weird spaces just in case you're wondering because we are having the the built-ins put in and they'll be the upper ones are for lighting yeah and that lower one is for so there's something open space right here and um i wanted to be able to have an outlet there if i wanted it yeah so it's just an extra so i wanted to make sure once i get everything kind of done then i'll decide these other ones won't show they're gonna be covered up and that's where all the closet lighting is gonna actually get plugged into i'm very excited at the moment we put my dresser back in here uh jack's i i put all this stuff down in the basement so he wouldn't have to keep moving stuff and because we've moved it multiple times last week in and out of this room yeah and we'll see if he gets to come back in afterwards you know what i think is really neat are you enjoying having your own kind of area where i'm not constantly harassing you about yeah because i don't have to organize it then there's no shame i won't look at it i don't know what you're doing our relationship got so much better when i moved out of his closet yeah you know what i think is interesting that you did what is even if you didn't because people are asking all the time like how do i do it if i don't have a big budget yet or if i can't afford it yeah just getting that wiring out of here made such a difference even if you buy these little racks which they're not very expensive on amazon yeah i got these racks to give me temporary storage because i wasn't sure how long the distance was going to be between the paint and the electrician and then actually getting the install so i didn't want to like throw my stuff everywhere these were like are they like around fifty dollars i think yeah so really inexpensive from amazon and the funny thing is you're the worst you walked in and you were like wow we shouldn't have even spent money on the closet system i'm like because this was it looks cute this looks amazing already like if we didn't have the budget right now for that closet i would just stick with this i know it calls it you just don't get all the vertical swords yeah you lose a lot of space if i was going to leave it like this then i would install shelving yeah and just open you just said some open shelves yeah but yeah you could definitely i know i was like oh this is just getting where the wiring sometimes makes it look so mushy i mean you have a dresser and some racks in here it's so cool and uh jack just that was very sweet of you to do some laundry i noticed that you put that in here so he's got my stuff and i just need to put some of this i didn't want to put it away in the wrong place thank you but yeah i'm very picky about where i put things because that way helps me get ready faster um not because i'm you know ocd i'm not actually ocd no you're not i just know that it makes my life easier so yeah at the moment we've got the ikea dresser back in this is gonna be gone there's gonna be a lot of really beautiful drawer closing like handles and lots of drawers lots of hanging space so we're really gonna maximize the space which i think is just gonna be really beautiful and they don't have all the lighting on the top the one thing we did before any of this was that we actually took all the carpeting out i don't know if i even mentioned that before i don't think so we actually put the reclaimed flooring this was a pretty big decision a lot of people ask if it comes from the bathroom into the closet do they put the tile in they put carpet in floor hardwood i did not want to put my toes down on carpet i think it's just gross um pyramid i just did not want any carpet in the house other than on the stairs which i could just you know take out and replace at some point but um yeah i did not put carpet in here and i do not like to have tile in the closet i just find it to be so bizarre and i know if you're living in places maybe like in florida or maybe in parts of california there's places i know in the world where it makes sense to have tile in your closet because it's connected but for us in atlanta we've got hardwood everywhere so put the hardwoods in here which was a little bit of a treat but yeah no i think it's awesome the other thing that i did was that i painted the baseboards and the entire ceiling and every single thing in here is the one color yeah so when the system so the system has back doesn't have a backing on it okay so it's gonna look like everything is built in and you're not gonna notice the difference between the wood i literally color matched the wood to this color so yeah okay we are in the car and jack is going with me so we got this this rower from a brand called ergata but they actually delivered it really fast yeah i said it was taking like 30 45 minutes and it took like 10. yeah it was really quick so i did not go down there and see it because i was busy working on other stuff so i will get to see it with you guys later and check it all out and see if it's going to be cool but i'm excited about it i'll be honest with you i am so excited about it i'm gonna try it out texting me while i was talking to them and i was like anybody else got someone who can't find anything in the grocery store like i go get a cup of coffee a croissant and then i make my way around what vamp this thing up and you know you know put my best foot forward i also have been thinking about renovating my bathroom to match the closet a little bit more and that's because the closet is now painted and i'm going to show you how far along we've gotten with the closet because it's going to be 10 days from now that the closet is actually being installed so i'm going to give you a little progress update on how it's going so far and then hopefully in about two weeks we'll be able to give you an actual tour of the act well maybe longer because i still have to get the countertop in i'm rowing machine delivered and i'm really excited about that because supposedly that keeps you really fit and i'm i'm curious and excited to try it out so you're gonna get to see parts of our house that we've never never shown we actually are having it delivered down to the basement and that has never been shown on this channel so buckle up it's gonna be quite the ride today but first of all let me of points and it will tell you eight seconds till you speed up and then you speed up and there's more points okay and then at the end of it all it gives you your score it compares you against everyone i hated cauliflower of course i hated brussels sprouts too and now i can't get enough of them yeah so i think it's about how you cook them and getting a good recipe and so uh yeah i've been loving the recipes out of this so i'm definitely gonna be giving it a try but i haven't tried those before so hopefully you got all the ingredients i hope so it takes me like nine hours at the grocery store they know because you were texting me while i was talking to them and i was like anybody else got someone who can't find anything in the grocery store like i go get a cup of coffee a croissant and then i make my way around what by the way what is this i know i got something fun so haley was telling me about these like they're like soda alternatives basically they're sparkling tonics they're non-gmo they have prebiotics botanicals plant fiber it i thought it would really be fun well that's like this says does that really say it has nine grams of dietary fiber that's cool that is really cool i didn't even realize that so yeah so i tried the uh cherry vanilla which was this is from lollipop this is not sponsored we just actually try stuff like this all the time yeah this is just us being us hopefully the recipes are gonna turn out as good as they looked in the cookbook i can't say that my styling of that will be as good but but they'll taste hey there's a professional stylist that does left with the brussels sprouts brussels sprouts unbelievable right so good so really really good so we have a beautiful charcuterie we have some beautiful crackers and some a little bit of carbohydrates and starches but uh yeah i'm gonna pour this dressing is unreal it's so good i'm just gonna pour that right on top that's so cool i mean guys it's beautiful you were i was sitting here thinking i need to stop because this is so naughty and then i'm like no like this is really good wholesome food it's really good it's great so yeah definitely check out the first mess cookbook it the recipes in this are just they're just unbelievable they're so good they're so good everything we've had has been amazing so far i'm just blown away so yeah we're gonna have some dinner feed our kids
