The iPhone 4: A New Design and Features to Expect

If you're wondering what's going on with the next-generation iPhone, we've got some exciting news for you. The pictures that have been leaked so far show us a pretty cool design. The current iPhones are very rounded all over the place, but this new design is more of a square, almost industrial look. We like it a lot and think it's going to be a good change of pace. The iPhone 4 is expected to be roughly the same size as the current model, but it will be thinner and have a much better screen.

The screen itself looks to be about the same size, possibly around 3.5 inches, but with twice the pixel density. This means that instead of the current 320x480 resolution, it will be 960x640 pixels. The reason for this change is so that normal apps can scale up easily without looking too small or too large on the new screen. For example, if you run an app on your iPad, it might not fill the entire screen properly because of the different shape of the device. But with this new iPhone, all you need to do is make the pixels bigger and the app will fit perfectly.

Another rumor that has been circulating is about the case and availability of the iPhone 4. There have been reports that Verizon may be getting a new iPhone, but so far, no official word from Steve Jobs or Apple. It's unlikely that we'll see a Verizon iPhone at WWDC, which is where Apple usually announces their latest products.

The operating system is another area where we're expecting some surprises. The iPhone OS 4 has been in beta form for a while now, and we've had several betas to test it out. While there's not much that can surprise us at this point, there are bound to be a few special features that will make the iPhone 4 stand out from its predecessors.

We're expecting some new apps and features that take advantage of the front-facing camera on the next iPhone. For example, IAT (iPhone Apps Tuner) is rumored to work with the new camera, which would be a great feature for taking selfies or recording video calls.

Finally, there's speculation about the Apple A4 CPU, which might be used in the iPhone 4. If this is the case, it will definitely be an upgrade from the current processor. But we'll have to wait and see what Steve Jobs has in store for us at WWDC.

WWDC Predictions

As I mentioned earlier, I've got my predictions about the next-generation iPhone and other Apple products that might be announced at WWDC. Since we're not expecting anything too groundbreaking, I think it's safe to say that the iPhone 4 will be a solid device with some exciting features.

One thing that I do expect is for Apple to show off its new operating system, which has been in beta form for a while now. While there's not much that can surprise us at this point, there might be a few special features or apps that will make the iPhone 4 stand out from its predecessors.

Of course, we're also expecting some news about other Apple products, including new MacBooks and possibly even an iPod. But for now, it looks like the iPhone 4 is going to be the main event at WWDC. Let's hope that Steve Jobs has something amazing in store for us!

is where Apple usually and that's their big event of the year um it's usually where they announce the I phone the next iPhone they also usually announce a few other things so I'm going to go ahead and everybody has heard about the iPhone I'm sure you guys know most everything about it so I will leave that to the end I actually try to focus on some things that hopefully you know I I haven't heard a lot and I I think that uh could be pretty true um so guys the first thing I'm looking forward to and this kind of might seem a little odd is an iMac refresh um now iMac was was refreshed I believe in October of last year and it was totally redesigned and you know I don't expect that it will be a major redesign but if you look at um the MacBook the white plastic MacBook and iMac were refreshed at the same time last year well the white plastic MacBook was just tweaked a little bit it now it has the same specs as the entry-level MacBook Pro um I expect we might see a little bit of something with the iMac um you know we might see a little bit more RAM maybe a little bit bigger hard drives Maybe maybe tweet processors um I don't expect guys it would be a huge overhaul I mean I imagine the case will be the exact same but I wouldn't be surprised if we see a few smaller things considering that I'm actually looking forward to getting an iMac here before too long that's actually I'm kind of looking forward to this um so if you're interested in iMac I would absolutely get a minimum wait you know until after WWDC they don't announce it go ahead and buy one but otherwise you might want to be a little cautious um another one the MacBook Air I we've heard the MacBook Air needs to be refreshed and refreshed and refreshed and I expect that we will finally see it now um you know the MacBook Air really there's not a whole lot of point to it now guys I mean it's I mean yeah it's extremely thin I me if you've never seen a MacBook Air I mean it is really cool how thin it is but that's about all it has going for it um you know I mean the M the uh the MacBook Pro is only slightly thicker but it's got a better design in my opinion and it's much cheaper and it's got better specs so right now the MacBook Air really needs to be upgraded um with some you know core I3 Core i5 um ultra low volt ultra low voltage processors um you know maybe some solid state drives that aren't don't cost you know $10,000 or whatever um I don't know if we'll see a case redesign for it it is like I said guys I mean very thin and I mean literally I think they could keep that case for you know 10 years if they wanted to I don't see computers like all a sudden just you know being way thinner than that but I do think that we will finally see some sort of upgrade to the MacBook Air um now the next thing would be the Mac Pro the Mac Pro of course is the Big Daddy the you know the big computer the top-of-the line Mac you can get and it needs are refresh pretty bad right now um so I expect we will go ahead and see a multitude of new things we'll probably see some of Intel's new hexacore processors um and of course because the MacBook I mean sorry the Mac Pro is pretty powerful and it can run two processors that would be pretty impressive you know to see a couple of hexacore processors um you know there's a lot of other things guys you know I mean the case design I like the case design it's really good but if you look back the Apple has used that pretty much exact case design for years and years and years now so it's still good and you know I mean there's not it's not like there's anything wrong with it but I wouldn't be surprised if they tweak it they you know maybe like remove the top handles and maybe they keep it from being giant I don't know guys but um I do expect that we will see at least some sort of Mac Pro refresh I don't know exactly what we will see but I think we will see something um now guys the last thing would be the iPhone 4 iPhone HD iPhone 4G I really still think it's the iPhone HD but um so anyway guys obviously we're going to see this guys this has been leaked and leaked and leaked and leaked and leaked I mean no one should be surprised at this point to see it um um let me just go ahead and show you guys if you don't know what's going on I'll give you guys a brief refresher of what all we know about it um so of course we literally guys we see these prototypes I'm not I'm not joking actually we've seen these prototypes on a daily basis um since Gizmodo got their hands on one um you know we've seen the case we've seen um different colors we've seen um the screen we've seen the full prototypes we've seen some that work I mean guys it's it's been ridiculous um about the only thing we actually haven't is a normal iPhone 4 that actually runs um OS iPhone OS 4 um but so if you guys don't know what's going on it's going to be a new design um the pictures that we've seen all the pictures see it's a pretty cool design um it's it's going to be a lot squared off you know the the current iPhone's very rounded all over the place it's going to be more of a square almost a little bit more of an industrial design I like it a lot guys um so it's going to be roughly the same size in the footprint it's going to be a good deal thinner and the fact that it's like I said guys a lot more squared off you can really tell that a lot more um it's going to have a much better screen um the screen looks to be about the same size I believe it's going to be 3.5 in maybe give or take a very very slight amount but it should be almost the same size screen it's going to literally have be twice the pixel density so instead of being 320 by 480 which is what all the current iPhones and iPods have always been it will be 960x 640 um the reason they did did this guys I'm almost positive is that it's going to be very easy for your normal apps to scale up so when you consider like the iPad you know when you run an iPad an iPhone app on an iPad it blows up but it's kind of of course the iPhone and iPad are shap differently so it's not going to fill up the whole screen well a normal iPhone or iPod Touch app right now will go ahead and work perfectly on the next iPhone because all I have to do is just get bigger it will fit in the exact same size screen all do is pixels just have to get bigger so it should be really good for that um guys there's a bunch of other things about the case of it of course we know we've heard Verizon iPhone rumors although recently you know actually just this morning Verizon was saying we don't have a we're not getting the iPhone in the immediate future so guys I wouldn't expect to see a Verizon iPhone come out in WWDC um I do expect we probably will see a Verizon iPhone you know maybe a little bit F further on in the year um heard a lot of towards like the end of the year this where a lot of people have been saying so we'll have to see about that um now guys one thing the only really thing I can see about the iPhone 4 that would be surprising people would just be the operating system of course we've seen iPhone OS 4 um there's been betas out I believe on the third or fourth beta don't quote me on that but we've had several betas out already um you know people have been testing them out there's not a whole lot that they can surprise us with but I do think that there will be a few special Fe features um just like you know like when the iPhone 3GS came you know they added a couple of things such as a compass and some stuff I expect we will see a few iPhone 4 specific apps such as IAT that works with the front-facing camera on the next iPhone um so guys the iPhone 4 um we know about everything we're going to know about it I don't expect I don't expect anybody when they when Steve Jobs goes here's the next iPhone everybody's going to go I mean everybody will know but there hopefully will be a few small things um you know of course it runs the Apple A4 CPU maybe it's the exact
