How To Cut Micro Sim & Make Nano Sim for iPhone 5 Free & Easy! Mini & MicroSim Convert to NanoSim
How to Make a Nano SIM Card from Your Current Micro SIM or Regular Size SIM Card Using Nothing but a Piece of Paper and a Few Tools
The new iPhone 5 features a nano SIM card, which can be a bit confusing for users who are upgrading from older models. If you're one of them, don't worry - it's completely possible to cut down your micro SIM or regular size SIM card to fit into the iPhone 5. In fact, this process is very easy and safe, as long as you follow the directions carefully.
To start, you'll need a few tools. First and foremost, you'll need a piece of paper with the schematics for the nano SIM card printed on it. You can find links to download these PDFs in the description section of this video. Make sure you print out the PDF in A4 8 1/2 x 11 format, as this is the standard size for most paper. Once you have your paper, set it aside and get ready to begin.
Next, you'll need a blade of some sort to cut your SIM card. You can use an X-Acto blade, scissors, or even a knife - just make sure you're careful and precise when cutting. Along with your blade, you'll also need a Sharpie or pen of some sort to mark the lines on your paper. Don't worry too much about this step - it's all part of the process.
Once you have all your tools ready, it's time to start drawing the lines on your paper. Use your Sharpie or pen to carefully draw the outline of the nano SIM card onto your paper, making sure to center it with the contacts facing up in that little diagram on the PDF. Take a moment to double-check your work and make any necessary adjustments before moving forward.
Now that you have all your lines drawn, it's time to cover your SIM card with tape. Make sure the tape is centered over the entire area of the card, and press down firmly to secure it in place. This will help prevent any stray pieces from falling off during the cutting process.
With your SIM card covered in tape, it's time to start cutting out the nano SIM card size using your blade or X-Acto knife. Don't worry too much about precision at this stage - you can always trim down any excess material later. Simply cut along the lines of the nano SIM card outline, applying gentle pressure as you go.
As you're cutting, remember that it's not a cutting motion - instead, try to press down with force to carefully remove the material from your paper. Once you've completed the cuts, carefully peel away the tape and inspect your work. You should see a small piece of paper with the nano SIM card outline cut out.
Now, take a moment to trim down any excess material that's still attached to your new nano SIM card size. This may include some plastic pieces or stray fibers - just use your blade or scissors to carefully remove them. With your nano SIM card complete, you should be able to see it sitting neatly on top of the paper.
The next step is to test fit your new nano SIM card into your iPhone 5. Simply insert the card into the device's SIM card slot and check that it fits snugly. If it does, congratulations! You've successfully converted an old micro SIM or regular size SIM card into a shiny new nano SIM card using nothing but paper and some basic tools.
Before we wrap up this tutorial, there are a few important things to note. First of all, the new nano SIM card is 15% thinner than its predecessors - so don't worry too much about that if you're upgrading from an older model. Also, be aware that your iPhone 5 may not have enough space for a nano SIM card at first, especially if it's already full with other data or apps. In this case, you may need to remove some of the existing content before you can install your new nano SIM card.
Overall, making a nano SIM card from an old micro SIM or regular size card using just paper and some basic tools is a simple but effective way to upgrade your phone without breaking the bank. With this tutorial, you've got all the knowledge you need to get started - so go ahead and give it a try!
