Answering Your #DriveTheWorld Questions

**Anton's Adventure: A Deep Dive into His Round-the-World Trip and Passion for Classic Cars**

---

### Introduction to the Video

Hello, everyone! Welcome to another exciting episode of "Scene Through Glass." Today’s video is a bit all over the place, but that’s because I’m currently joined by Anton in a stunning Jaguar XE 300 Sport. The occasion? It’s none other than the 70th anniversary celebration of Lotus Cars at their headquarters in Hethel. Amidst the chaos of planning his ambitious round-the-world adventure while managing his YouTube channel, Anton is here to give us an update and answer as many questions as possible.

---

### The Round-the-World Adventure

Anton kicks off by expressing how challenging it has been to balance running a YouTube channel with the extensive planning required for his upcoming 12-month journey around the world. Despite the hurdles, he’s excited to share updates and insights into this epic endeavor.

One of the key questions from viewers is about the route for "Drive the World." Anton assures everyone that a detailed route will be released on the Scene Through Glass website soon. He mentions that while some countries are already planned, more destinations will be added as the adventure unfolds. Additionally, he hints at creating a members section on the website where subscribers can access exclusive and in-depth updates about the trip.

---

### Exploring Lotus HQ

The excitement shifts to Anton’s visit to Lotus HQ for their 70th-anniversary celebrations. The event is a car enthusiast's paradise, with a display of classic cars, including a recreated Lotus Sunbeam from the Montecarlo rally. Anton gushes over the iconic "Jean and Todd" liveries, paying homage to Jean Todt and Jody Scheckter’s racing history. He also mentions how his friend Philip introduced him to classic Valley cars, reigniting his passion for these lightweight, fun machines.

A highlight of the visit is the attempt by Lotus to break a Guinness World Record: assembling 1000 cars in a convoy on their test track. Anton regrets not bringing his drone to capture the spectacle but is still awestruck by the sight of so many Lotuses lined up, ready to make history.

---

### Back in the Jaguar XE 300 Sport

After exploring the Lotus event, Anton returns to the Jaguar XE 300 Sport. He shares why he’s currently driving this car: his beloved 360 is undergoing servicing, and Ivan, another vehicle, needs some tweaks. The 300 Sport, being Jaguar’s most sporty model, proves to be a great replacement, offering a perfect blend of performance and style.

---

### Answering Viewer Questions

Anton dedicates time to address several viewer inquiries:

1. **Route Details:** A detailed route map will soon be available on the Scene Through Glass website, with more countries added as planning progresses.

2. **Collaborations with UK YouTubers:** Anton hopes to collaborate with fellow UK YouTubers like Paul Wallace and John Pulis during his travels, especially in countries he hasn’t visited before.

3. **UK Leg of the Trip:** The adventure will include exploring parts of the UK, particularly regions in the north that Anton has yet to experience.

---

### Drive the World Project

Anton provides an update on the "Drive the World" project, emphasizing it’s a massive undertaking. He plans to visit numerous countries continuously for 12 months, with each location likely only being a brief stop due to the extensive travel schedule. The journey will kick off in January 2019 and conclude by December of that year.

---

### Kickstarter Campaign Update

The discussion turns to his Kickstarter campaign, which has already surpassed its initial goal of £25k, raising over £10k. Anton expresses gratitude to his supporters, calling them his best friends for their generosity. He’s already planning how to allocate the additional funds to enhance the trip, including visiting new destinations and organizing exclusive car meet events.

Anton mentions a special perk for backers: access to Drive the World car meets in specific locations. These intimate gatherings will allow supporters to connect with him and other enthusiasts like Paul Wallace, Tony Pulis, and John Pulis.

---

### Emotional Investment

While discussing his preparations, Anton reflects on the emotional and financial commitment involved in this venture. He’s had to pack up his life, put belongings into storage, and sell many possessions to fund the trip. Despite the challenges, he remains committed to creating high-quality content for his audience, viewing the journey as both a personal challenge and a labor of love.

---

### Conclusion

Anton wraps up by thanking Lotus for the opportunity to attend their anniversary event and expresses hope that viewers enjoyed this video. He encourages everyone to subscribe for more updates and to share their thoughts on Twitter.

As Anton gears up for his epic round-the-world adventure, fans can look forward to a year of thrilling content filled with classic cars, new experiences, and unforgettable stories.

J double-double all up god I'm speaking quick on to I think I was excited for the Lotus activity will you be involving Wallace pjw and mr. jww or other UK youtubers in Drive the world I hope so I'm hoping that throughout the year I get to work with and collaborate with tons of youtubers not just the UK lot fundamental gonna be traveling to loads of countries I haven't been to before so hopefully I'll have to link up with youtubers in those countries and finally for now Adam Douglas has said will you be going around the UK of course there will be a UK leg where I want to explore all the areas and parts of the UK I haven't yep so mainly up north I've done very little up north I'm embarrassed to admit sin right let's let's leave health or for now get on the road or to a bit more about this car the 300 Sport and answer some more of your questions I don't think I consider a hot hatch so basically the the test drives for the my next car series which is effectively the my around the world car series starting next weekend so Tony now I've already recorded the first test drive and we've lined up a whole lot of others over the next week or so that we're going to be doing so yes stay tuned a lot become a lot clearer on that first test biggest fear is the fact that I'm literally packing up my entire life so yeah I mean moving out of my house putting the 360 into storage selling almost everything I've got to fund most of the trip I think you know there's been a bit of a misconception around the kick starter and certain elements of my announcement video that people have underestimated just how much I'm personally investing into this trip financially but also emotionally it's a huge commitment and a huge huge challenge so I'm very daunted by yet just how much I'm having to not give up but put on hold in order to go out and make a ton of video to a ton of content don't get me wrong it's amazing I'm going to be travelling around the world for a year that's going to be an amazing adventure but I'm doing it to make videos for you guys so it's not purely selfish a little selfish but not always giving it some okay so this is interesting if you head up to the Kickstarter page which unbelievably has now raised over 10,000 pounds I love you all by the way any of you that have supported the Kickstarter page so far you are my best friends you're incredible people and you're facilitating already I mean IG well if you don't know Kickstarter you only get the money if you hit your goal so once we get to 25k which was my goal that's when the money is taken from you and released to me but I've already started to plan how I would use this additional money that you guys have very kindly pledged we're going to some additional places that I haven't been to before and some other exciting stuff which are I am just having two T's right now but anyway you are amazing so if you go to that Kickstarter page there is a reward there for these sort of specific drive the world car meets so you can buy a ticket or access to these carvings so those are specific oh we got the pasta come on Sam 600 it looks beautiful it looks just glorious in the yellow what a hero I know what it's like to hug one of those in the motorways that guys are brave Helen oh yes so there were specific Drive the world copies that we taken place in certain locations around the year but above that of course I'm going to be attending as many sort of cars and coffees and things like that and I'll be announcing in advance through the scene through glass website where I'm going to be when you know any to the big car meets or car beds I'll try and get down to but if you want specific Drive the world seen through glass car meets we're going to keep them very small and specifically for the guys who have been amazing enough to school me on the Kingston John mod ball Paul Wallace and Tony Pulis Paul Wallace go spent I spent so much time with Paul in cars on long journeys I know I can do it Tony I would kill with it about half a mile and John would just beat you he would just always be making me do stupid stuff even make me jump on a plane to do bungee jump so I couldn't handle it so yeah Paul unfortunately you're the chosen passenger I there's a lot of travel because as I mentioned in the announcement video it's very is that twelve months and actually that long to get around the world so I'm not able to stay in places for that many days we're just a little frustrating but I guess there's day trip you should scale at the trip so yes I think maybe the maximum anyone city or town will be five days something and continuous trip yes it is one continuous trip I will leave in January the beginning of January 2019 and I will return full time the trip will end December 2019 it will continue for the whole 12 months that's it isn't it ok that's it that's what I said well there we go I'm glad you've answered some definitely not all of your questions I'm going to try and get back to the rest of you on Twitter to recap why I'm in this lovely HD 300 sport it's very kind of you lent to me by Jaguar because like I mentioned in the Vista heritage video with the i30 n I'm in need of wheels at the moment the 360 is still in having it serviced so you really need an update on that and Ivan unfortunately is just having a few tweaks to make sure he's still rode well because the old codgers are having a few man flu problems but he'll be back on the road soon so yes I've been needing cars to get around in and amazingly jag let me this after I saw it on the road though that looks like a good-looking XE I've always not the look at the neck see and the 300 sport is now their most sporty Exene it's been lovely it's been perfect I think it looks mega I hope you've enjoyed today's video thanks once again to Lotus 2 inviting me down to their 70th anniversary or a mega mega event and I hope I've been able to answer some of your questions give it a thumbs up if you've enjoyed it and make sure subscribe purple any more videos to comehello Anton Oh welcome to scene through glass now today's video is going to be higgledy-piggledy at best currently you join me in a Jaguar XE 300 Sport I'm in hell for lotuses 70th anniversary and I know I've got a ton of questions to answer about the drive the world trip turns out running a YouTube channel whilst planning a round-the-world adventure isn't that easy to do but anyway I'm here right now trying to make some content for yours so surely I'm gonna head inside to check out the 70th anniversary and then get back into this XE sport tell you why I'm in it and what I think about it and then try to answer as many of your questions as possible I love these little Lance prints look tiny they are actually went out in one at Belle classics not that long ago I'll try to put a link to that video below if I remember but yeah it's little cars and so much fun in terms of a sort of achievable usable classic that has a super lightweight fun little car now we are talking check out this Lotus Sunbeam from the classic rally Montecarlo firstly anything with rally lights I am loving but this is actually but the Jean and Tod liver on it I don't know this is the actual car from back in the day this is just a sort of recreation but Jean Todd obviously famously running the FIA these days and also Randy for iPhone or one team for many years but yeah classic valley cars thanks to my dear friend Philip have become one of my new obsessions I just think this thing looks apps he awesome it is which may be a rally car shouldn't be but yes just look at those Valley fog lights on everything these days many years ago I went to a carbon as she was Goodwood Revival and me and Paula's walk straight past a lotus contact ever since then the user has given me such a hard time for not filming that car so Lenny check this out we've got a minute the whole line there's a whole life you can relax now I filmed now this is pretty insane later today Lotus is going to be attempting to break a Guinness world record for the most low Thai lotuses in a convoy they're going for a thousand cars continuously driving in a convoy around their test track here that's where they're pretty lucky one of the few manufacturers that has a test track right next to their actual factory so these are all customer cars lined up close for miles you're not going out to sea I wish I bought my drone I'll be a thousand or so lotuses I'm gonna go with lotuses they're about 4 p.m. are going to take off in a convoy to try and beat that Guinness World Records pretty cool to see well what an awesome morning it is being down here Lotus HQ I I don't feel like I really showed you guys enough of what was going on there was lots of action on track now a display once there was old classic f1 stuff going on but I missed a lot of it and mainly I was nailing out in the car park looking at the customer cars that turned up anyway I'm now back into the Jag XC 300 and we're going to do a bit of driving around the local area so I can answer your questions and tell you about this car I'm talking about answering your questions let's knock off a few now kicking things off stewey Metcalf has said are you going to be releasing a route for us to follow for drive the world and where is the start line yes a very detailed route will be coming on the scene through glass website now if you haven't checked out the news seen through glass comm site go into it now there was a bit more information about drive the world more information than in my announcement video so I list off the countries that are currently included in the route but more to come and then close to the start of the actual drive the world adventure I'll be unveiling a sort of members section for the scene through glass website where we have to get sort of much more exclusive and detailed updates on drive the world Billy Henderson has said will you be
