**Comparing the Apple iPhone 10 and 10s to the iPhone 10R**
The main difference between the Apple iPhone 10, iPhone 10s, and iPhone 10R is the screen. The iPhone 10 and 10s feature a dense display with 326 PPI, while the iPhone 10R has a slightly lower resolution of 458 PPI, but still provides a crisp visual experience. As for the display quality, the LCD screen on the iPhone 10 appears to be less desirable compared to the OLED display on the iPhone 10s and iPhone 10R.
When it comes to text, the difference is noticeable, particularly with video content. On the other hand, when watching videos, the difference may not be as significant due to the advancements in screen technology. However, the LCD display does have limitations in terms of contrast ratio and color accuracy compared to the OLED display on the iPhone 10s and iPhone 10R.
The iPhone 10's 3D Touch feature is a notable omission from the iPhone 10R, which means that users will not be able to take advantage of features like peek and pop previews or quick action shortcuts. Instead, the phone relies on Haptic Touch for lockscreen shortcuts and Control Center shortcuts. This change may be disappointing for some users who relied heavily on 3D Touch.
Another notable difference between the iPhone 10R and its predecessors is the thickness. The iPhone 10R measures 8.3 millimeters in thickness, making it one of the thickest phones since the iPhone 5c. In contrast, the iPhone 10s has a more manageable thickness of 7.7 millimeters.
The bezels on the iPhone 10R are also more pronounced compared to its siblings, with the phone's bezels measuring around 4 millimeters in thickness. This may be a minor issue for most users, but visually, it may not be as appealing as the smaller bezel design found on the iPhone 10s and iPhone 10.
Apple's dual-camera setup is also a notable difference between the three phones. The iPhone 10R features a wide-angle lens and telephoto lens combined into one camera housing, which allows for real optical zoom and portrait mode with inanimate objects or animals. In contrast, the iPhone 10 lacks this feature, relying on digital zoom instead.
The glass used on the front and rear of the iPhone 10s and iPhone 10R is stronger and more durable compared to the glass on the iPhone 10R. Apple claims that the glass used on its flagship phones is the most durable available.
The design of the phone is also worth mentioning, with the iPhone 10 and 10s featuring aluminum bands that can make them slippery to hold. The iPhone 10R, on the other hand, features stainless steel frames and tougher grip, making it more confident in your hands. Unfortunately, Apple was slow to release first-party cases for the iPhone 10R at launch.
Lastly, the water resistance of the phones is also a notable difference. The iPhone 10s has an IP67 rating, which means it can withstand being submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. In contrast, the iPhone 10R has a more limited IP67 rating, which allows for only 0.5 meters of fresh water submersion for up to 30 minutes.
Overall, while the iPhone 10R shares many similarities with its siblings, there are also some notable differences that may be worth considering before making a purchase decision.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enin this video we'll consider the various ways that the iPhone 10r is worse than the iPhone 10s using an LCD display on the 10r has obvious cost benefits but since it has a backlight contrast ratios aren't as good and it suffers from backlight bleed now it's still a very good LCD display but the OLED display on the iPhone 10 has perfect black levels in no backlight so no backlight bleed now the iPhone 10 R is technically a Retina display but it features a much less dense display as far as pixels are concerned with 326 PPI versus the iPhone 10 and 10s 458 PPI I have to admit I do notice the difference especially with text with video I don't notice it as much although the LCD display is obviously not as good with contrast ratio and color as the OLED display now here is potentially the biggest downside for the iPhone 10 are for me 3d touch which is great I use it all the time as you can see right here allows you to peek and pop in preview websites or URLs or whatever the case may be it also is supported within apps directly and you can use it to invoke quick action shortcuts on the home screen like that now with the iPhone 10 are yeah you don't get 3d touch at all it's just non-existent so there's no peek and pop previews and there are no quick action shortcuts on the home screen if we try it basically puts you in the wiggle mode it just doesn't work at all which is disappointing they do have what they call a haptic touch which is basically a poor-man's 3d touch for lockscreen shortcuts and Control Center shortcuts you here's something that may surprise you the iPhone 10 and 10s are 7.7 millimeters thick the iPhone 10 R is a whopping eight point three millimeters thick and it's immediately noticeable this is the thickest phone since the iPhone 5c which also quinces identity was a phone with many different color options but yeah this is a much thicker phone than the iPhone 10s so just keep that in mind the most obvious difference that sticks out initially when comparing the iPhone 10 and 10 asked to the iPhone 10 are are the bezels you can really see the difference between the two bezels here the bezels on the iPhone 10 are are obviously a bit thicker I say it's about 4 millimeters versus 2 to 2.5 millimeters for the iPhone 10s and 10's Macs it has no real bearing on usability but visually it isn't as appealing as the phone with a smaller bezel Apple's higher in phones feature dual camera setups a wide-angle lens and telephoto lens combined into one camera housing and this allows for things like real optical zoom 2x zoom using the telephoto lens and it also allows for portrait mode with inanimate objects or with animals which is nice right with the iPhone 10 are you miss that zoom because the device lacks the telephoto lens so yes you can still use things like digital zoom but you know that's not really zoomed at all and unlike the iPhone 10's portrait mode on the 10r only works with people the glass on both the front and the rear of the iPhone 10s and 10's Mac's are comprised of stronger glass that Apple says is the most durable that same glass is used on the front of the iPhone 10 are but on the rear yeah that's apparently not as durable so don't drop your phone one of the things that I love about the iPhone 10 and 10 as are this thing that still bans not only do they look great but more importantly they provide you with a level of grip and a level of confidence that you simply don't get with aluminum bands like the ones used on the iPhone 10 are my iPhone 6s used to always slip out of my hand because of those slippery aluminum bands which caused me to want to use a case more often with the iPhone success and I think the same would probably be true for the iPhone 10 are if there were any first-party cases available at launch now Apple appears to be releasing a clear case for the iPhone 10 R and that may actually be available by the time you watch this video but at launch there were no first-party cases for the 10r which is super weird and for most people this won't be a huge deal but there is less water resistance with the iPhone ten are compared to the iPhone 10s the ten are features an ip67 rating which means you can be submerged in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes with the 10s you get up to two meters of fresh water submersion for up to 30 minutes let's not get it twisted the iPhone 10 R is an amazing device but it's not the iPhone 10s but with that said I would consider very few of the after mention features to be absolute deal-breakers the iPhone 10 R is still a very good value you get the same processor you get the same wide-angle camera you get face ID and a lot of the other functionality that's associated with the flagship phone what about you thumbs up if you agree let me know what you think down below in the comments this is Jeff with nine-to-five Macin this video we'll consider the various ways that the iPhone 10r is worse than
