Welcome to Scene Through Glass: A Car Week Retrospective
As I settled into my hotel room in Dallas, Texas, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relaxation wash over me. I had just flown in from Monterey and was looking forward to a night's work before heading back to San Francisco. The flight had given me the perfect opportunity to reminisce about what was an unbelievable week at car week. I must admit, I had some idea of what to expect, but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer intensity of the event.
The Week That Blew My Mind
Car week blew my mind in every way possible. It was truly an experience that left me utterly speechless and wanting more. As a spotter, I have to admit that I wasn't as keen on covering all the ground as I would have liked, but there were just so many incredible cars on display that it seemed impossible to do justice to each and every one of them. However, I did get to see some absolute showstoppers, including my personal favorite, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
A Ferrari That Left Me Breathless
I'll never forget the day when I was driving down the road and a Reggia came past me. Suddenly, it turned around and headed straight for me! My heart skipped a beat as I quickly turned around to get a better look at this incredible machine. The exhaust note that emerged from its tailpipes was unlike anything I'd ever heard before – it sounded like an actual F1 car! I followed the Reggia for about 15-20 minutes, and let me tell you, it was truly an all-out orgasmic experience.
A Unique Driving Experience
But the highlight of my week came when Phil took me out in his Ferrari 166 B eta. What a unique experience that was! We had to wear those silly pig hats as part of the drive, but I'll never forget the thrill of cruising around in such an historic Ferrari. From now on, if I'm compiling a list of favorite cars, the Ferrari 166 Beta will definitely make it.
Special Mentions: The Black Maserati MC12
A special mention has to go to the black Maserati MC12 that was built for Michael Schumacher. What made this car truly unique was the two little scratches on its paintwork – caused by none other than Schumacher himself! The owners have left them in, of course, as a testament to their beloved driver's heritage.
A Ferrari That Stole My Heart
But my favorite car of all of car week might come as a surprise to you guys. It was the 250 Short Wheel Base that me and the Strad Man found. Since then, we've been led to believe that it's actually a replica or restored car, but I don't care – it's one of my dream Ferraris, for sure! What made this car so special was the fact that it was just left alone in the car park amongst the other standard cars, like a Ford Fiesta. It summed up car week perfectly – these incredible multi-million-dollar pound cars were everywhere, and yet, here was this humble little Ferrari just chillin' with the rest of them.
Conclusion
That's my take on car week, folks! I hope you've enjoyed this retrospective, and I'd love to hear from you in the comments below – what were your favorite cars from the event? "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enjoining us on today's coach trip Cody AKA Dr M3 forgotten how quick this thing is hello one and all welcome to scene through glass you joined me looking very relaxed in a hotel room in Dallas Texas I've flown straight here leaving Monteray and car week behind me I'm here for one night's work before I head back to San Francisco and today's flight really gave me the chance to reminisce and look back on what was an unbelievable week at car week it blew my mind I kind of had an idea of what to expect but I didn't know it was going to be that insane I am literally in love I am now going to go every year it's going to be a firm fixture in my diary I I don't care if you're getting married Sith I'm going week but it really was that freaking good but as a spotter I actually wasn't that good it was great to hear that you guys enjoyed so many of the videos I loved making them but there are a ton of cars that I didn't see blue laughs p1s Salam andrin 918 as you guys kept telling me I was missing but it was that kind of week where there was so much going on you simply couldn't cover all the ground however I did see some cars that I absolutely love so what I thought I would do was go back and pick out some of my favorites from the 2016 car week now whilst they're absolutely Mega machined I personally have never had a big thing about kerig eggs however one day when I was driving down the road and the regera was coming the other way I had a minor heart attack I quickly turned around and gave Chase and I have to say it was one of the coolest sites of all of car week next up we have a car that didn't make it into any of my videos actually but it was the Ferrari 430 scooteria I was driving along one day when it came past me and I was like oh that's cool a scud and then as it drove past I heard the most outrageous exhaust noise ever I'm not entirely sure what exhaust the guy put on the car but it basically sounded like an actual F1 car I followed it for about 15 20 minutes and it was literally an all orgasm oh my God can you hear this thing it's an F1 car it is an F1 car I have no idea what exhaust pipe is on it it's obviously a scud Ferrari F430 scooteria and it drove past me I turned around to hunt it down and oh my God it is so worth it this thing sounds incredible what now the first a car was always going to be a special day however it was made even more special when Phil took me out in his Ferrari 166 beteta what a truly unique experience made even more unique by the fact we had to wear those stupid pig hats but I will never forget such an awesome awesome time as going out in the passenger seat in such a historic Ferrari now I'll always try and include a La Ferrari in any list of favorite cars that I'm compiling and the one that was basically satin black at me auctions definitely has to be the one that makes this list always cool to see a LaFerrari that's not red to see one in such a unique color made it even that more special one of the coolest things about car week was meeting lots of different people and one of the coolest people I met was the strad man and that meant meeting his Lamborghini Gallardo what an awesome car and the perfect car to drive around monway hunting supercars in that manual gearbox really came into it own when we were hunting down that P1 we are hunting super cars now this insane now before car week I reckon I'd seen about two bagani huas in my life and now feel like I've seen about 70 there were so many hanging around montere but it was so cool whilst in my mind there's still no Pagani Z they are awesome looking cars and in particular the crazy bare carbon one with with red wheels and red touches that I saw with the strap man sticks out in my mind because it was such a surprise now seeing any P1 is always a pleasure but when it's the first hyper car that you see on the roads of car week it's always going to stick on your mind so the blue P1 had to make this list I can see I can see it my first hyper car on the road of car we now whil it's a bit controversial I personally love the 488 and this a tech tune one for me was the dream I can't think many places around the world where you can see 250 GTO being thrashed around the track so seeing them at Laguna sea taking the infamous Court screw really did make the main weekend of car week a little bit more special my favorite one the blue and yellow delivery number 12 GTO yes it sounds like from a famous Ferrari racing car to a famous McLaren racing car and the F1 GTR longtail that was on display and one the spirit of the quail award at the quail was really breathtaking and the thing that blew me away about it the most the sound when that thing started up I actually thought I'd broken my eardrums and my microphone now this list is getting on a bit so a couple of special mentions just quickly have to go to the black Maserati MC12 which was built for Michael schumacker what was very cool about that car is it had two little scratches on the paintwork which schacker caused and the owners have left them in the paintwork they could have polished them out but they left them in because obviously shumaker's Heritage is so special also the Ferrari 330 P4 the only original P4 left in the world on display at the Pebble Beach Concourse was really a special thing to see that one blew me away however we have to move on to what was my favorite car of all of car week and it may come as a surprise to you guys that it was actually the 250 short wheel base that me and the strad man found now since finding it we've been led to believe that it's actually a replica or a restored car but I just simply don't care Not only was it one of my dream spec Ferraris of all time it's also one of my dream Ferraris of all time but the thing which made it so special was as I said in the video at the time there were three sort of hyper cars or supercars at least parked outside the hotel whilst this car was just kind of left left alone in the car park amongst the other standard cars I a Jeep Wrangler and it just summed up car week for me the fact that these incredible multi-million dollar pound cars were just absolutely everywhere and a car that is personally very special to me was just left as if it were a Ford Fiesta not the Ford Fiesta on special and there we go my favorite cars from the cars that I saw at this this year's car week as I said at the beginning I'm very aware that there were tons of cars that I missed so if you were at car week or if you were watching FS sport following Alex penfold on Instagram whatever and saw cars let me know what your favorites were in the comment section below I hope you've enjoyed this kind of summary video give it a thumbs up if you have and make sure you subscribe for all the videos still to come today at car week I'm headed to Laguna SAA Raceway oh my God shave my head and call me Susan there's only a bloody laugh here as well fire but we're working\n"
