The Motorola Moto Z 4 is a new smartphone that has been announced by the company. The phone features a 48 megapixel camera sensor, which utilizes quad pixel technology to produce high-quality images. This technology gives the phone the ability to capture photos at 12 megapixels, even when the camera is set to the highest resolution setting.
The 48 megapixel camera sensor is not the only feature that sets this phone apart from other devices on the market. The Moto Z 4 also has a 25 megapixel camera on the front, which uses quad pixel technology as well. This means that both the front and back cameras can take high-quality photos, making it a great option for those who want to capture memories with their phone.
In addition to its impressive camera capabilities, the Moto Z 4 also features advanced software capabilities. The phone's camera app has several features such as auto smile capture, which takes a photo of you when you smile, and smart composition, which helps to improve the composition of your photos by adjusting the framing and focus. These features make it easy for anyone to take high-quality photos with their phone.
However, there are also some drawbacks to using the Moto Z 4. One of the main issues is that it only comes with one Android update at a time, meaning that users will not receive updates as frequently as they would on other devices. Additionally, Motorola has only promised two years of software support for this device, which means that users can expect to see security updates and new features for about two years before the phone is no longer supported.
Another issue with the Moto Z 4 is the presence of bloatware from Verizon, which can take up storage space on the phone. There are also some weird games installed on the phone, such as Pet Rescue Saga, that may not be appealing to everyone.
Fortunately, the Moto Z 4 does come with a number of positive features. The phone has a large battery, which Motorola claims will give users two days of use on a single charge. The phone's battery is also very fast, thanks to its 15 watt turbo charging capabilities. This means that users can quickly recharge their phone when they are out and about.
The Moto Z 4 is available in several different colors, including grey and white. It can be purchased exclusively from Verizon, but it will also be available on other carriers such as Best Buy and Amazon. The phone's price varies depending on the carrier and the specific model that you purchase. For example, the phone can be purchased for $240 or $10 a month for 24 months if you are on Verizon.
However, there is also an unlocked version of the Moto Z 4 available, which will set you back $500 starting June 6th. This unlocked version comes with the 360-degree camera module, which allows users to take high-quality photos in 360 degrees. However, it's worth noting that this feature may not be as useful for everyone, and some users may prefer other features such as sound boost.
There is also a bundle available for the Moto Z 4, which includes the 5G modem from Verizon. This bundle will cost $140 and will give users the ability to take advantage of Verizon's 5G network. However, it's worth noting that this feature is only currently available in small pockets across the US, particularly in Chicago and Minneapolis. As such, it may not be as useful for everyone.
Overall, the Motorola Moto Z 4 is a solid smartphone option that offers a number of impressive features. While it has some drawbacks, including its limited software updates and bloatware from Verizon, it's still a great choice for anyone looking for a high-quality camera and advanced software capabilities.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enmotorola has a new phone and it's called the moto z4 which is the fourth entry into the Z series which is the one where you can attach moto mods to that adds different functionalities to the phone but so far on paper that phone isn't really exciting me particularly because the MSRP is $500 and there's a lot I feel like that's missing especially when you look at competitors like the Asus zenfone 6 however the only reason you might want to look at this phone is if you're on Verizon as you can buy this phone for 240 dollars on a 24 month contract or $10 a month that's a pretty great price but let's take a look otherwise in terms of design you're getting more or less what we've seen before with his classic moto camera bump over here's moto logo and the pins that allow you to attach moto mods and that stays secure magnetically there's a mod like the JBL sound boost that enhances the sound that comes out of the phone is also a camera mod that enhances the camera capabilities is 16 different lots to choose from and that really is the selling point or the differentiator for the Moto Z series now over on the front you're getting a six point four inch full HD plus OLED display looks pretty crisp we haven't been able to really test brightness yet because it's overcast and getting dark here but we will do that for the full review to see whether it gets bright enough to see in broad daylight and as you may have just noticed in that little demo screen there is an in display fingerprint sensor that's why there's none on the back so we haven't again tested this yet but they've said that this should give you pretty good performance as similar as the fingerprint sensor that we've seen before on the back of previous moto phones so that's gonna be looking forward to it of course you can see the display is expansive really slimmed down the bezels on the top and the bottom there is a notch over here they're calling it the micro notch and it's basically a teardrop notch as other phone makers have called it you're getting a twenty five megapixel camera over there other than that you're getting a USB C charging port at the bottom along with a headphone jack now the headphone jack is kind of important because you know most of us know the headphone jack is just basically gone from a lot of phones but Motorola even took it out of previous moto Z phones the z2 and z3 didn't have it but they brought it back because I guess people didn't like that they took it out so it's great that they're listened to consumer feedback and brought that headphone jack back it is Gorilla Glass 3 on the back in the front and the back has an etched matte feel to it that's the type of glasses are using and it really doesn't feel like glass on first impressions but it does feel nice and overall I think the phone feels pretty sturdy it's I like the size a lot it fits pretty perfectly in my hand and I'm able to reach all the sides pretty well but again I do have larger hands so that may vary based on your hand size I guess all right first things first when you hear 500 ala phone you're likely thinking lesser performance this phone has the snapdragon 675 processor with 4 gigs of ram and yes it would have been nice to see the snapdragon 855 like we have seen on the similarly priced Asus zenfone 6 however we've also used a snapdragon 670 on the pixel 3a and have had pretty flawless performance really so I think you can expect more or less excellent performance out of this phone maybe on the higher tier gaming apps you might struggle a little bit but otherwise you shouldn't really expect too many issues with performance on this phone again in our brief impressions it's been fine but we'll be doing a longer-term testing to really see how it holds up and finally you getting the same core moto features that you've come to expect for most moto phones for example twisting the phone to launch the camera app or chopping twice to turn on that flashlight as well as one button navigation and the three-finger swipe down for screenshots those are some of the core features there are a couple more available but that's just the only additions that Motorola has added to the software the in display fingerprint sensor may be a flashy feature but the real highlight here is the 48 megapixel rear camera combined with that 25 megapixel front camera now Motorola is using a feature called quad pixel technology which is basically pixel binning combining pixels to give you the ability to collect more light which should end up in a nice lowlight photo and there's a night vision mode to complement that that stacks the images together again moving noise and things like that to just overall give you a better photo not dissimilar from things like night sight on the d2 pixel 3a which is a $400 phone or fall base night mode so the 48 megapixel sensor basically when you go into the camera settings you'll see that when you choose the 48 megapixel mode you're basically getting a 12 megapixel photo 48 megapixel quad pixel technology gives you a 12 megapixel photo which is pretty standard on most phones now there are different options you can choose from there's the 36 megapixel image which will then give you a 9 megapixel image resolution because of that quad pixel technology and so on so again you're not getting that necessarily the huge file size really high resolution 48 megapixel photo it's using quad pixel basically all the time so you're just getting a 12 megapixel photo that should ideally be better because it's using this quad pixel knowledge 25 megapixel camera on the front also has the same quad pixel fitting technology and there are a couple of AI features that motorola has added into the camera so there's auto smile capture so you just have to smile and will capture a selfie as well as a mode that basically gives you smart composition where it'll you'll point the camera at a subject and it'll tell you maybe shift it to the left a bit because asking that the better option for the for a better looking photo in terms of software that's the last tenant that we've sort of have to hit there is some bloatware from Verizon that we can see as well as some weird games like Pet Rescue saga you know but otherwise you're getting a pretty close to stock Android experience unfortunately motorola has only promised with one Android diversion update at the moment so your this phone is going to only get Android icky when that comes out in August and we don't really know if it'll get the next update so that's kind of the problem with this in terms of why it's not an Android 1 phone like the recently announced one vision that phone will get updates for three years whereas this one will only get updates for about one at least version update this will get bimonthly security updates for two years motorola has added their biggest battery ever to a z-series phone now it's not as big as the Moto v5 or the Moto G 8 power which has a five thousand milliamp hour battery but it has a thirty six hundred million power battery and Motorola says that should give you two days of use so definitely do testing on that to see how well that holds up but it seems safe to say that that's probably a good idea of what to expect and there's also a 15 watt turbo power charging so you can charge your phone pretty fast and again we'll be doing more testing on that to see those exact numbers this phone is available in grey and white and also is available exclusively on Verizon in terms of carrier partners you'll also be able to buy it from Best Buy bnh and Amazon so there's a couple of different pricing options for the Moto Z 4 from Verizon you can get the phone again for $240 or $10 a month for 24 nice feature I guess if you're into 360 degree photos but otherwise it may not be the mod that I would be interested in something like the sound boost where you can boost up the speakers that are playing music from this phone might be have might have been a better bundle option but whatever at this point you can only get the 360 moto mod bundle with the Moto C 4 and also there will also be a bundle for moto z4 along with the 5g modem onto from Verizon and that will cost you hundred and forty dollars now that moto mod the 5g moto mod won't work with the unlocked version at the moment it will later on so you just have to keep that in mind if you also want the u 5g modem on you should really remember that it's only really available 5g that is Verizon's 5g that is only really available in Chicago Minneapolis at the moment and even then it's in very small pockets so the rollout will take some time who knows at that point next year might be a better time to buy a 5g phone as you might
