to the car so hopefully by the end of this video we will have the s14 back up and running but we still just have to get everything else bolted onto the engine the turbo kit you know fuel lines everything so we're still working on that but right now we actually have brent over here kind of diagnosing some things on the hatch little hatch you know yeah right in this car they have a special connection we do i kind of like this car a lot we all have a special connection this this trio right here me brent in the hatch yeah drove it all the way down to florida back in the day two years ago and uh that's when she went her first nine second pass and it was her only nine second pass at bradenton motorsports park it was uh twice it did it that was awesome yeah that was a good time but she's been sitting for a little bit i think the last video was when me and emilio took this thing out and then we just tried to drive it around it overheated the drive didn't go so well but i ended up parking this car back in this spot it drove here fine i backed it in shut it off and then i actually tried to fire it up a few weeks ago and it wouldn't start whatsoever and i had no idea why and i spent a couple days diagnosing everything on this car and i could not figure out why this thing wouldn't start it came down to the injectors not firing i even waited to get annoyed light kit off amazon because i was pretty sure that's what it was because i would spray some brake cleaner into there and it would fire over so then i eventually ordered a noidlight kit and what a noidlight kit does is it's this little light right there that plugs into the injector plug when you crank the car over you'll see light coming through that to make sure that the injectors are pulsing that it is sending voltage to the injectors it is not doing that so when you crank the car over the noid light does not light up at all which is telling us the injectors are not firing and i have changed the distributor i have checked all of the sensors like the crank position sensor you know making sure that the rpm is being read and i've tried different ecu's whole bunch of stuff but i gave up on it i could not figure it out and we've been so busy i haven't had time to uh figure out why she isn't running since brent has some extra free time he's going to see if we can get her all fired up here yes sir so we can dive in and uh i'll diagnose everything i'm sure we'll get started i'd say how about it i mean i i literally spent two solid days trying to figure it out and i couldn't find it so i guess we'll see how long it takes sprint to do it i know if anyone can figure it out it's him but i'm curious to see how long it's going to take him i know he's going to do it but let's see how long it takes him i'm going to feel real dumb if it's just like one little wire and he's like oh there it is that'd be that'd be cool but i don't know but we'll see whale she's just about put back together here good thing i got this whole thing put back together all by myself wyatt was out eating mexican food with the whole fam and uh i stayed back with uh dawn and run and we actually got put back together ourselves without with help i'm going for the i'm going for the funnel this feel right here dude that's a steep drop there buddy look didn't miss one all right you ain't flowing yet go higher now yeah give me that salt baby no i ain't going higher i have not spilled one drop yet i'm going for a perfect core no funnel no i said it with confidence as long as no one sabotages me it's in the bag oh that's golden look at you look and one drop boom all right guys we got everything put back together oil is in the only thing we're missing right now is just the alternator and then we gotta bleed the clutch if all goes good but we're gonna give her a first fire up right here and then also put uh some coolant in it but we want to hear it run first before we go too extensive on all that and uh yeah i think we're good to go let's give her a fire oh she's dead yep she did all right well guys i got some really sad news we tried to start the 240 on the old trusty jump box here and she's been getting weaker and weaker over time and it's been in the back of the truck it's been rained on the gauge right here doesn't work anymore and uh after letting it charge for two days straight it didn't have enough juice to even get one crank on the 240. so unfortunately the og jump box is uh gonna have to go she needs to be replaced we need a new one and as you guys know our jump boxes are very important to us because we need to use them a lot so i think we just uh overworked her over the last year and it's really unfortunate to say but she's gone she has no more life left yep rest in peace mac tools jump box he served us well well yeah sounds so good oh yeah we got it i think i see a leak we do have a leak right there all right we got her fired up but we had a small leak there's this billet plate on the front of the engine that relocates our oil filter and we had a piece of plastic from like a wiring harness it accidentally got caught underneath when we tightened that back onto the new engine so it was kind of holding it up cause a small leak but we got that fixed now and we should be good to go so we're going to lower it back all the way down and fire this thing up again what you thinking brent i'm not sure yet but i'm going to try to clean the mold off got the ecu out yeah yeah i did try both computers that i had and i didn't have any luck yeah the other one see that all kinds of issues once you're done there let's give her a flip yeah it is pretty i noticed that too i could see that there was like mold growing on the circuit board there yeah it's cleaned off or something just start with the basics and then kind of work from there yeah this is super weird it doesn't send a pulse with yeah it doesn't make any sense you i traced that wire all the way down to the paint on the computer and i could make the pull slight light up with the power probe and i know the injectors had power to the hot side yep so to me it came down to the ecu itself or whatever the ecu needs to see to tell the injectors to go to send that signal to them but you the thing is you changed that as well yeah i tried the distribution i mean by some chance that one could be bad too you know it's it's happened it has happened but it's super weird because the distributor has the cam sensor in it right yeah cam position sensor yeah but i mean i'm getting like when i crank it you know i'm not getting codes for that you know it will throw codes it will tell you stuff just got to keep reverse engineering until you figure it out that's it hayden still has not put his shirt on since the pool i got sunburned all right shirts are not going back on if you see one in there cutie is she dripping tell me to shut her down everybody cute now cuties you'll make me sad you mad i'm gonna be sad yeah cheated on me did not so boys alternator get that clutch bled cool and the s14 is back yeah coolant she's ready to go again and go rip and hopefully this clutch stop will alleviate all our issues yeah prevent that issue from coming back we don't know if it's gonna completely fix our issue or not but hopefully it will we know we got a lot of life out of it before it did that though yeah so we should be good at least for one solid rip yeah burn out if it blows up again at least we mission accomplished yeah you know if she blows she blows but if we can put on a show then you're the master yeah we got some cool rigs going on they are still trying to solve the issue i'm kind of happy they haven't found the issue yet but i'm obviously kind of sad but i literally spent two full days trying to figure out what this issue was on the hatch and i would have been a little upset if they came and just figured it out right away but now brent are both trying to figure out why it is not firing on the injectors and uh yeah they've been at it for a little bit now it's definitely a pretty serious issue it's weird we don't know why it's doing it everything seems to be working as it should be it almost seems like it's coming down to something in the computer um and like i said we've tried two different ecu's in the hatch i don't know she just doesn't want to run tonight she doesn't like florida anymore i don't know what to say but i have faith in these guys i think they can get it figured out so we'll see if we can get the hatch fired up by tonight or not where are we at on our tom three quarters almost there three quarters of the way you want to tell everyone what happened what the issue was we had a little tick and then we decided to when milo got in town we just said you know what my let's just look at it because i was going to run it anyway and then that's a good thing when the valve cover off and you we seen the keeper was halfway out so that's a bad sign so if we would have tried to make a pass it would have died it would have dropped that valve right away yeah and we found one that was broken in half and then we found one that would take it apart it was broken half oh dang yeah yeah so these are the keepers right here that hold the valves in place this one is intact and then this is another one that's split into two right here which is not good at all so if tom attempted to make another pass they probably wouldn't have made it even past the burn out no with how bad that was that way so they're standing up forward trying to get her knocked out so what we're doing is we're just re-changing all of the retainers and keepers all of them just just because it's just going to go through every every one of them yeah and yeah especially with how old it is when you see all those others that have issues you might as well just go through them all yeah it seems like a lot of people are having keeper issues right now not only us but just a lot of people thank you that's it that's it r.i.p harness i can figure out it was something serious yeah i they're in there deep so we dived in and i found that uh there's a bunch of corrosion inside of here and a bunch of oil both both distribution plugs that are underneath the intake manifold which is pretty common on this on all civics but uh yeah i just think this harness is so brittle and so beat up that this is not gonna come back around yeah it's definitely yeah seen better days yeah hatch has been due for a makeover for a while now it really has and we have some stuff to really make it killer so we might as well make a killer yeah and quit horsing around with all the old junk because i mean the same injector plugs that we're having trouble with one time you had trouble and it melted the engine down and we don't need to do that for some sort of thing so yeah well dang dude yeah it just got us we just need some parts i think if i had another harness or a little more time to test some things it's kind of hard climbing in and out with crammed quarters but whatever it's so fun trying to chase down some issue you spend like good like three hours on this yeah at least then yeah yeah at least i know it's nothing i missed because i swear i went through everything i literally sat down and just i was like i'm gonna figure it out because normally when i put my mind to it i'll eventually solve it i could not i didn't know what it was i uh you know i got the mold off the ecu i wouldn't clean it all uh we do have sparks so really just getting the injectors to squirt we need something out of these here we got something something looking like at this point at least to get it back up and running as is we'll need a different engine harness just to be sure that there's nothing wrong with the one that's in there because i mean i've hacked this thing up and done all kinds of stuff over the years it's pretty hacked and uh kind of made things work but probably start with a new harness and uh probably a fresh ecu that we know works and kind of go from there yeah and uh work our way back so uh yeah yeah that's it that's it that's it that's what we got hatch is not gonna be running for a little nope we tried though i appreciate it yeah that was fun i really believed in you it was fun working with fong dude i was i was really thinking you guys were just going to go in there and it would just fire up in the next like 10 minutes you know there's uh it was a it's a pretty good bug what can i say we got some this is alternator wire now you know it all welded up so you can see it sits right underneath there then we have that nice little fill cap that goes around his itb so he can fill it up easily no more crack no more ready for its first pass down here in florida very solid too i put a strap around her you know like two bracket on this side and two oh yeah just keep the vibration off of it nice should be good oh yeah man don't fong's getting loaded up right now and we're all getting ready to head out here in a minute it's gonna be sweet well guys we have spent this morning getting everything loaded up getting ready to head to the track because we have a test day at the drag strip today we have tom's car right here brent has his bully he's not running the bully but jamie has a civic we have angel supra and we're going to be bringing the s14 and the route to see down just to get set up for this weekend we're not going to be racing any of our cars at the drag strip we do have the freedom civic but it's still not 100 as you guys saw and we just did not have the time to go through that thing uh the s14 should be all good to go we got everything put back on there we got coolant in there we just have to top off the trans fluid which we will be doing on the trailer once we get down there we have just been rushing trying to get everything put together but we are just about there so i don't know what kind of clips and stuff i filmed throughout yesterday last night and as of right now but you know i said i was gonna try to put a daily video out there for you guys so i'm just gonna cobble all these clips together
