tennessee and then we left this morning and we are actually making a stop over here at fuel tech we met these guys over at world cup a couple years ago and we've always wanted to stop by to come check the place out you can actually see behind me we did end up bringing the wagon and the router seat back with us so we're about seven inch hours away from tampa still but we're going to make a stop here real quick and check out fuel tech's facility we've been wanting to stop by here and uh hang out actually was here not too long ago so now it's our turn to check this place out yeah featuring wit looking homeless i make a lot of carbon stuff but i don't have my motor lids on you don't have all the carbon components yeah i'm all sold out but you know the guy who makes a shoe never has good shoes so we got the mr2 up in here mr two so this is anthony right here how's it going guys this is his mr2 and brown was talking to you when he was over here because you do some carbon fiber stuff is that correct yeah i've been doing stuff for the mr2s for a little while now and i do motor lids for the for the most part but my main thing is strength and lightweight so kyle heard that and we're going to get some stuff going yeah this thing's sweet man this installs the the toyota motor the 3s gt cj spec one so it's a gen 3. um i put this motor in a long time ago right when they were first coming into the country this thing's been running on a fuel tech for about 10 years now it was ft 300 and then we went ahead and put it on the 600. we fire this thing up and even have a custom splash screen so the thing turns on put whatever you want in there that's awesome got the switch panel so you can set up all your buttons and then i actually grafted scoops into the car right here so yeah yeah they're sheet metal and they're welded in i got i kind of got that cool from the older ferraris you know so i always like ferraris all right this is the man in charge right here this is anderson nice to meet you man and uh yeah so you're kind of lead operations over here at fuel tech yeah i'm actually founded the company almost 20 years ago and and been having fun for 20 years and let's say this way this is awesome so i saw this in brent's video this is about a twin turbo c8 corvette yeah we actually we thought in having this project going on since the there's no until now crack for the issue and gm is promising that nobody's going to crack so we thought it being like a aftermarket eco standalone let's try them to to to have this car diode so it was kind of a fun project the same time a challenge so we really really done this project like we dropped the enginee piston rods fabrication in eight days literally fine um we have a port injection so okay we actually installed a different intake manifold instead of the plastic and we had eight injectors a thousand cc injectors uh and methanol injection on that so that so we don't have intercoolers so this was a way actually to be able to to run uh to control the fuel without intercooler and cool it down then we actually run with the turbos the the fabrication was pretty simple because we pretty much used the stock headers we cut them before even the flange and do like a 90 90 90 in the tubes on top i personally love this position i know there is an other another not another great positions to install this on here mount but the way it looks from the outside is it's so crazy yeah it looks neat that looks wild and even looking on the back uh from the inside so we actually remove the cup holders and put the the fuel tank over there so the fuel tank is controlled right there in the little cup holder spot that's really cool yeah and we have here the so don't even need to mess up with the fuel cell or the the fuel lines we have a fuel cell here for methanol so nice this actually runs the port injection so we have the di still stock you don't have to even crack the stock computer the only thing we have to do is like some piggyback on the map sensor and map sensor to keep this the stock computer not going into limp mode but everything else is is working fine i'm same problem with everybody else like waiting on the clutches so the the clutch really cannot handle nearly like four pounds of boost but yeah they start to slip yeah you're going to see once you shift before more than three four pounds of boost on the gear shift it's flare some and come back but we dine on the car with uh 10 pounds it on fourth gear because the fourth gear has uh six clutch uh discs and they even even the other gears i only had uh the only had five so it it holds like 750 horsepower on the fourth gear but if you try to shift it will slip immediately you're a cold start so here we have all the the information i have we have additional or two sensors so we have boost uh rpm but you left what you write port injection fuel pressure uh injection time for the secondary battery voltage so we can even call we have individual egts per cylinder so we know every cylinder working fine you can come here and change the map but just a few i have a map for completely on running on port as well so we've been doing a lot of testing of how to run the engine itself sounds really good this is actually my first time in a c8 corvette yeah all our friends have them but i haven't got to ride in one yet is it thermal space like 30 000 oh you even have turbo speed on there that is really cool let's launch you ready i'm ready that took off pretty good though oh yeah i usually do that on drive shift itself it's awesome keeps four pounds right there man that's fast for only four pounds of boost i personally believe this is going to be a huge uh card platform to in the next few years if if like even the solution even not cracking the issue i'm very confident that you can run it safely you know what i mean yeah doing some tricks but running like part injection and that's fine you know what i mean yeah that was awesome thanks for giving me a ride that was sweet it's my pleasure yeah somehow even a 450 will take care of this but sure a 550 or 600 will do more especially data logging channels yeah do you have how is your data logging stuff here um i didn't know you guys at that time i was i never watched it before the night and then i started watching and then i met i mentioned with a few out one of those for the golf cart have a little dash on there and a little shopping cart well we've been hanging out over here at fuel tech for a few hours now it's super awesome to meet anderson thousand pounds unloaded drove to colorado with the trailer fully loaded that thing up drove all the way out to glamis california then drove another three or four hours to la and then drove all the way back to colorado and then all the way back to florida and it was like what seven thousand miles almost combined trip it was right around seven thousand with like all the around town driving and everything so and we had zero for an oil change zero issues the whole trip yeah yeah way way past due for an oil change for sure that probably just black sludge at this point but we had the one little mishap on the way coming back from texas yeah but other than that it has been a trooper no issues with the truck whatsoever um i don't know if i should even show this but the tires barely made it where's those cords at yeah tires are in need of replacement to be fair kyle did mention that we should probably put tires on it and we were planning to but we ran out of time because we got cut short with the little turbo on there but we did bring it along with so in case we have some extra time we will be tinkering on the chopping go kart as well so let me know if you guys want to see some more updates on this thing but yeah i don't really have too much else to say we've been beat traveling and we still got a lot of stuff to kind of get organized and figured out and then i got some parts coming actually for the hatch which should be the next video and a lot of you guys want to see more stuff on the hatch and it is getting the most important piece it has ever gotten and that's coming actually right now so the next video is gonna be about the hatch it's gonna be pretty cool but yeah i think i'm gonna wrap it up there i think we got enough stuff for today went to fuel tech guys were awesome it was awesome to meet anderson and hopefully we can get some stuff worked out with them but oh we're going to yeah we're working it out with them and it's going to be awesome to have them on
