**Unlocking Your HTC Device: A Step-by-Step Guide**

If you're looking to unlock your HTC device and gain more control over it, you've come to the right place. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of unlocking your device using a toolkit and custom recovery.

First things first, we need to get started with the toolkit. So, click "OK" and then navigate to the Windows Explorer. Locate the toolkit folder and double-click on it or right-click on it and select "Run as Administrator." This will ensure that the process is completed safely and efficiently. Next, click on "Install HCC drivers" and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Once the installation is complete, we need to register with HTC Developer. Click on "Register at HTC Dev" and follow the prompts to create an account. Make sure to enter a correct email address, as it will be used to send you a link to activate your Dev account. After registration, open a web browser and click on the skip ad link. Enter in all of your information for your registration, including your email address.

Once you've completed these steps, your device will need to be restarted. So, turn off your device and then turn it back on by holding down the volume down and Power buttons simultaneously. Keep holding them until you get to the fast boot screen. Then, push the volume down button to select recovery mode. Finally, tap "Power" to enter recovery mode.

Now that we're in recovery mode, we need to install a custom recovery image. So, navigate to Clockwork Mod and touch the "Flash" option on your device. Make sure that USB debugging is enabled again. Click "OK" and wait for the process to complete.

Next, we need to flash a custom recovery image. To do this, open up a Command Prompt window and type `fastboot reboot recovery`. This will boot your device back into fast boot mode. Next, navigate to the C:\toolkit\data\SU directory using the Command Prompt. You'll see the Super SU zip file inside there. Copy it over to the root of the device's storage by navigating to `internal storage` and copying the file.

After copying the Super SU file, unplug your device and turn off your phone. Then, turn it back on by holding down the volume down and Power buttons simultaneously. Keep holding them until you get to the fast boot screen. Push the volume down button to select recovery mode, then tap "Power" to enter recovery mode.

Now that we're in recovery mode, we can install the Super SU file. Navigate to `Install zip from SD card` and choose `zip from SD card`. Scroll down to the Super SU .zip file and hit "Yes". The installation process should complete quickly. Once it's done, navigate back to the recovery menu by clicking "Back" on the bottom of the screen.

Next, we need to reboot the system to complete the unlocking process. So, navigate to `Reboot System` and click "Go". Click "OK" to confirm the reboot. After a few seconds, your device should boot up with a custom recovery installed. Congratulations! You've successfully unlocked your HTC device.

have the AT&T version of the one then click on the toolkit here click the download link you actually need to download WinRAR so you're going to click on this link here and then download the latest version for your version of Windows then install it connect you're going to rightclick the toolkit hit extract ract files then click on C drive and click okay and click on Windows Explorer the and the toolkit folder and double or right click the actual tool kit itself hit run as administrator yes and then we're going to click install HCC drivers and click go click okay okay once that's done we're just going to follow this list here at the left so we're going to go register at HTC Dev so click that and click go click okay going to open up a browser and click skip ad at the top and enter in all of your information for your registration for HC developers um make sure you put a correct email address cuz after this is done it's going to send you a link that you need to check your email click on the link in order to completely activate your Dev account then on the device you're going to want to pull down the notification hit settings scroll down to developer options turn them on and then then tap USB debugging and make sure that it's on click okay then you're going to click get token ID click go click okay and then your device will reboot into fast boot mode when it does close this First Command Prompt and the second one should appear looking like this so then you are going to right click and hit Mark and we want to copy just this so contrl C and then contrl V it into notepad now if you for some reason which happened to me before get bootloader the word bootloader in front of here kind of like it's written here you need to manually go in and delete the spaces and the word bootloader and the parentheses all in front of each of these lines so that it looks just like this it's just identifier token star with all the carrot marks end carrot marks and these lines of code written exactly as they are with no spaces okay next we're going to select submit token ID and hit go then click okay then click skip add and scroll all the way to the bottom and put in your identifier token here so again make sure it looks just like it does here no boot loader none of that in between it Etc you're going to copy all that paste into here hit submit and wait for it to send send you your unlock code via email okay after that we're going to click um well we're going to go to our mail and download the unlock uncore code. bin file save that to our desktop then click unlock Bootloader hit go click okay it's going to ask you to choose your unlock.bin we're going to go to our desktop and we're going to select this one here click open at that it's going to ask you to confirm the warning just hit volume up and then power to select yes the phone will erase itself when this happens um but then it'll boot up you'll have to go through the setup process okay then go to settings go to Power scroll all the way to bottom and turn off fast Boot and while it's still plugged in we're going to flash a custom recovery image so we're going to go to clockwork mod touch the one that I want to use Flash uh on your device make sure that USB debugging is on again and then click okay this First Command Prompt is going to show up and boot your phone back into fast boot mode just like it did before so wait for it to boot once it does can close this command prompt and wait for the next one it will Flash the recovery you can then close that okay so after we flashed the custom recovery on there we've checked to see if the recovery exists we're going to um root the device now I tried to do this with the toolkit and it just wasn't working properly so we're going to do it manually by going to our C drive then the toolkit then data then SU and you'll see Super SU zip file inside there um we're also going to plug in our device obviously and mount the storage we're going to take the Super SU file and copy it over to the root of the device's storage so just inside internal storage and not inside any folders and we can close that close that and unplug our device
