iPhone 7 Q&A 18 different Frequently Asked Questions Answered

The iPhone 7: A Review of Its Features and Drawbacks

One of the notable features of the iPhone 7 is its lack of a headphone jack, which has been a contentious issue for many users. The phone comes with an adapter that can be used to connect headphones, but this can be inconvenient and requires users to carry it around. As one user pointed out, "I would have loved to have the 3.5 mm headphone jack but that's not there, but apple is giving you this converter for free in the box so yeah looks like everybody is going to move to Bluetooth headsets and stuff."

The audio quality of the iPhone 7 via earphones has been a point of contention among users. While some have reported good sound quality, others have found it to be lacking compared to their Android phones. One user tried using their Bose QC35 headphones with the iPhone 7 and found that the sound was good, but they noted that this is not an ideal solution.

Another concern for many users has been the charging time of the iPhone 7. According to one user, "it didn't charge fast and after 80% it charges really really slow." They also noted that using a larger charger, such as the iPad Air 2 charger, can help speed up the charging process, but it's still not as fast as their Android phones.

The Truecaller feature on the iPhone 7 has also been reported to be lacking compared to its Android counterparts. One user installed the app and found that it did not work properly, showing who was calling only when they went to the app itself, rather than displaying a pop-up notification in real-time. This is in stark contrast to their Android phones, which often provide this feature.

Finally, some users have reported hearing a hissing sound during calls on their iPhone 7. However, as of now, it seems that Apple has fixed this issue with the latest OTA updates. One user played Asphalt8 for 15 minutes and did not hear any hissing sound, suggesting that the problem may be related to the phone's stress levels rather than a hardware issue.

In terms of overall usability, users have reported that they need to adjust their habits in order to fully utilize the iPhone 7's features. For example, one user noted that they need to charge their phone every night and remove it from charge in the morning, as opposed to simply plugging it in and waking up with a partially charged battery.

The iPhone 7 is an interesting device that offers many of the same features as its predecessor, but with some notable improvements. However, its lack of a headphone jack and slow charging times are drawbacks that may not be ideal for all users.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is ranit and I have been using the iPhone 7 for the last couple of days and I've been posting about it on uh Twitter regarding my experience and stuff but still I was getting a lot of question from you guys so I asked you guys to post your common questions that you have regarding the iPhone 7 this is the iPhone 7 guys not the plus uh so I got a lot of questions so I have taken down 18 of the most common questions that I was getting regarding the iPhone 7 and I hope that I'll be a to answer those common questions in this video so let's get on with the same and the first question that I got was from uh pratish and he's asking Apple markets the iPhone 7's display as the best one how do you compare it with the iPhone 6s display and it's Androids counterpart yes Apple says that again the iPhone 7 has the best display they always say that the latest version of iPhone always the best but Frankly Speaking I didn't find a huge difference uh it's slightly brighter I would say than the iPhone 6s but again even the iPhone 6s was also easily visible in direct sunlight and this is also the same so I don't see a huge difference in the screen quality in terms of if you compare it with iPhone 6s to the iPhone 7 but again uh when it comes to Android I would certainly say that Android phones like the Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 have a better display for example the Galaxy S7 with its amulet Quad HD display is really more crisp particularly in fine text you can notice that because the display on the iPhone 7 is still sub 720p it's not a Quad HD or even a full uh HD display so yeah apple says it's the best but I feel uh Samsung with their Galaxy S7 uh with their Amor displays and even LG with the LG G5 IPS panel those are better displays in my opinion uh next if we move to uh the second question uh this is from fisel he's asking is it a good upgrade from the iPhone 6s uh I would say the two huge improvements that you would see moving from the 6s is in terms of the camera the camera has really improved I would say the rear facing camera particularly in artificial lighting conditions and low lighting conditions has improved tremendously and even the front-facing camera has improved great the front- facing camera is actually a 7 megapixel shooter so again if camera is your very high priority I would say yes it's an improvement but again if you can if you're not very picky about the camera then I would suggest wait because the form factor is again still uh like uh the old iPhone 6s not a huge difference yes we have the new button home button which is actually not a button uh it has that taptic engine but again uh I feel uh the feeling is a little bit weird I'll talk about that in another question so anyways let's move and uh this is I got from bat he's asking is the Apple A10 chip that's the Fusion chip can be considered the fastest uh system on chip tilled uh I would say yes it's a fast uh chips at the uh Apple 810 Fusion that is being used on the iPhone 7 and the 7 plus and I was looking at some Benchmark results and in single threaded operations it's actually faster than the Intel chip that is used on the MacBook Air so it's really fast I would I wouldn't say the iPhone 6s was slow when I used it and that's the same case with the iPhone 7 I didn't notice any lag or whatever uh but but I generally browse some websites in the desktop mode and yes I could notice that they loaded a lot quicker on the iPhone 7 so yes definitely the A10 Fusion chip is the chip to go but again even the iPhone 6s I didn't notice any lagginess like that that's the same case with the iPhone uh 7 but again if you just go by the benchmarks yes the A10 Fusion chip especially in single threaded operations is really fast and now the a A10 Fusion chip is actually a quadcore chip that is being used on the iPhone 7 and the 7 plus uh let's move to the next one uh this is by Amy he's asking is the memory management better than the OnePlus 3 particularly the iPhone 7 plus as it has the 3 GB of RAM as I told you I don't have the iPhone 7 plus this is the seven that I'm using it has 2 GB of RAM and in terms of RAM management I didn't bother about it I didn't have to worry about it most of the applications that you use throughout the day are in Ram I wouldn't say a fixed number but the last 7 eight apps that I was continuously using were in memory so it's not like I noticed RAM management issues on the iPhone 7 even with the iPhone uh 7 that has 2 GB of RAM so RAM management is done very well next question is regarding camera and this is by n he's asking iPhone uh can it beat the Galaxy S7 camera in display and uh whatever display yes I would say the S7 display due to the AMOLED is a lot more vibrant and rumors are that iPhone 8 might move to AMOLED technology uh but in terms of camera I won't give a total verdict as of now because uh my wife has the Galaxy S7 and a couple of days ago we were in a restaurant with some friends and I was just taking some casual shots with both the uh Galaxy S7 and the iPhone 7 and particularly in low lighting areas I felt uh some of the shots were better on the iPhone 7 uh though uh the shs looked brighter on the Galaxy S7 but when I was looking at detail the iPhone 7 had a lot more detail I will try to do a in-depth comparison between the camera performance uh between the S7 and the iPhone 7 again stay tuned for that I'm going on a holiday and I'll take a lot of snaps side by side and there we can have a clear picture but I feel the iPhone 7 was a little bit more accurate in terms of uh what do you say detail and naturalist and artificial lighting uh let's move to the next one uh this is by Vera he's asking how how is the speaker on the iPhone 7 will it compare with the vibe X3 the vibe X3 actually had dual front firing speakers and stereo speaker so in terms of stereo separation the vx3 had good stereo separation and it also has that Dolby Atmos so it give that virtual surround experience that you get on the ybx3 uh again the good thing is that on the iPhone 7 also it's stereo speakers but the implementation is a little bit different uh one of the main speakers is here on the side and the second speaker is here on the year piece uh so I don't get that pure studo effect that I get on the vbx 3 uh but again in terms of loudness I have to say apple has done a fabulous job it's even more louder uh than the yx3 uh so kudos to Apple because it is a water resistant phone and getting good speakers on the water resistant phone is a difficult thing for example the Galaxy S7 uh as its water resistance speaker quality is average but that's not the case with the iPhone 7 the speaker quality has actually improved uh if you compare it from the iPhone 6s uh brilliant and loud I would say it's clear and loud uh this is by Sid he's asking is the iPhone 7 2 GB Ram model better than Galaxy S7 4GB RAM and uh RAM management uh I would sadly say yes the iPhone 7 uh has better RAM management compared to the Galaxy S7 with the Galaxy S7 after 67 apps I do notice quite a bit of reloading of apps that's not the case uh with the iPhone 7 uh so yeah I would give the edge to the iPhone 7 in in terms of RAM management uh let's move to the next one uh this is by Joseph he's asking does the iPhone 7 support fast charging sadly there is no fast charging or even wireless charging on the iPhone 7 and I feel this is one of the biggest bummers that I faced uh moving from an Android phone to the iPhone 7 and the charging speeds are simply not that fast I didn't time it but it takes over 2 hours uh slightly over 2 hours for the iPhone 7 to charge which is actually pretty pretty slow compared to many of the Android phones for example the OnePlus 3 with its Dash charger can charge in just 1 hour and many of the Samsung Galaxy uh S7 phones or whatever can charge in one and a half hours so fast charging is simply not there on the iPhone 7 and that is one of the biggest bummers that I have with the iPhone 7 uh let's move uh this is by uh Jagdish is asking is the camera comparable to the S7 camera and what's the screen on time for the iPhone 7 regarding the camera as I told you I have to do a lot more comparison I feel in low lighting uh the iPhone 7 has more definition but again I will try to buy hopefully in the next week or so next 10 days I'll try to post a dedicated video where I compare the camera sample shots with the S7 and the iPhone and uh you were asking about the screen on time sadly regarding screen on time apple does not make it very easy to judge the screen on time for example if I go to the battery and uh I don't know if you can see I'll try to zoom in uh it's on uh it's it's at 48% right now and it's been 18 hours of the charger and it says that the usage is 5 hours so still I have about 48 hours but again this is not the screen on time uh I would say roughly the screen on time it's difficult to calculate because you have to total up everything Apple makes it a hell of a job to get the S so values but I would say uh screen on time might be uh what I was getting on the OnePlus 3 that's between 4 to 5 hours uh on a typical day I would say uh let's move to the next one this is by shush he's asking is it better to upgrade from the iPhone 6s 64 gigs to the iPhone 7 128 uh gigs I would again uh say that if uh you are not happy with the camera performance of the iPhone 6s then you can have a look at the iPhone 7 uh but else if camera is not your highest priority you're okay with the camera on the iPhone 6s then I don't see a uh what do you say big reason to upgrade to the iPhone uh 7 in my Frank Opinion uh let's move uh this is by anul he's asking heating issues on the iPhone 7 and the 7 plus again I didn't notice any heating issues uh I've been using this uh for the last four five days I even did some gaming asphalt8 for about 15 minutes it does get a little bit warm but not hot so nothing like any heating or stuff like that that I noticed this is by Tas he's asking Note 7 or the iPhone 7 plus uh your answer which one will be your pick uh which is the best between the two Tas does nothing like like the best it comes down to personal preference again both are very different one runs on Android one runs on iOS uh I would say the strength of the Note 7 is the S Pen so think if you are going to use the S Pen uh one thing that I noticed with the iPhone 7 plus is that it's a lot more bulkier compared to the Note 7 even though uh it is having a smaller screen the iPhone 7 plus compared to the Note 7 the Note 7 just felt a little bit more comfortable in the hand compared to the iPhone 7 plus uh but again the iPhone 7 plus has the dual camera setup uh which I feel is good if you take a lot of photographs you can easily zoom in without losing a lot of uh details so end of the day it comes down to personal preference iOS versus Android and uh think if you're going to use that S Pen but in terms of inhand feel I felt that the Note 7 was uh better uh let's move to the next one this is by Akash camera comparison with the OnePlus 3 there is no point it'll beat the uh OnePlus 3 camera easily I would say uh this is by nikel he's asking how's the new iPhone home button actually the new button it's not a physical button uh it's a capacitive layer when the phone is switched on you have that tap Teck engine you can actually set the sensitivity of the home button and the fingerprint scanner is also embedded and it's fairly fast so again it is not of what do you say real button so I would say the feeling is sort of a mix between a physical and artificial button it's sort of weird I would say but after 2 3 days you sort of get used it but still if you give it to somebody else uh and they use this phone uh the button will feel a little bit uh weird I would say it doesn't feel real to be frank they have three settings but I tried every setting uh it works but it doesn't replicate the real feeling of a physical party uh next is this is by jit he's asking how is the life without the 3.5mm headphone jack how much a person will miss it if he doesn't have any Bluetooth earphones sound quality via earphones more improved uh yes the iPhone 7 and the 7 plus don't have a headphone jack so what apple is doing is they are giving you this adapter this is a lightning to 3.5m uh adapter and it has a dark to builtin and I did test it with this one and the audio quality VI this one is actually really good so Apple didn't skim on the dck that is there in this so uh audio quality is fine I would say but again you have to carry this along and I feel most of the time you'll just forget about this so you can be stuck uh and again uh if you lose this apple is going to charge you $9 for this uh converter so personally I would say I would have loved to have the 3.5mm headphone jack but that's not there but apple is giving you this uh converter for free in the box so yeah looks like uh everybody is going to move to Bluetooth headsets and stuff I tried it with my Bose qc35 and the sound was good yeah is this the idealistic solution no I would have loved to have the 3.5 mm headphone jack but sadly it's not there but you're getting this converter uh let's move uh this is by Amy he's asking how how long does it take to charge and by charging uh with the iPad charger does it charge faster uh Amy I didn't time it exactly but it was slightly over 2 hours for me to charge it fully actually uh after about uh it actually does not charge fast and after 80% it charges really really slow so I didn't time it but it was around two OD hours I don't have the I I have the iPad mini and I tried it with the iPad Mini charger and it didn't make any difference but I've heard that uh if you charge it with the iPad air2 charger that are bigger Chargers it can charge a little bit faster but again don't expect it to charge as fast as uh Android phones it's that's one of the biggest cons that I have with this uh iPhone 7 for example with most of my Android phones when I got up in the morning 7 7:30 I put them to charge and I'm good to go by 8:30 8:45 pull out and I have about 90% charge but for the iPhone 7 uh I'm noticing that I have to change my habits I have to put this phone on charge at night and I remove it from charge in the morning because if I do it with my regular schedule it simply won't charge fully uh let's move to the next one uh this is Again by Amy an interesting question he's asking is the true Coler working properly as with the iPhone 6s it was having problem uh Am Me True caller works I installed but it's not working properly whenever we get a call True caller simply does not pop and shows who is calling only when you go to the True caller app it shows who is calling so I don't like that functionality on Android uh when when you use True caller when you get a call you just get a pop it in real time and it shows who's calling but that's not the case with the even the iPhone uh 7 that's one of the cons I would say if you rely too much on uh true that was the problem with the iPhone 6s that's the same with the iPhone 7 also and this is the last question this is by Tas he's asking is the hissing sound noticeable during the calls atas to be frank I didn't notice any hissing call uh sound whatever while taking calls or even after gaming uh some people were saying that you get that hissing song when the phone is stressed I played asphalt8 for 15 minutes and then also I didn't hear any hissing song but again I also got two otaa updates and I somewhere with the latest OT update Apple has fixed that hissing sound so as of now I'm not getting that hissing sound so these were 18 of the common questions that I was getting on the iPhone 7 again stay tuned to my channel I'll be posting a lot more videos on the iPhone 7 and also an in-depth review in the next couple of weeks so again guys I hope this uh video was helpful and if you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel hit that subscribe button thanks for watching this is ranit and I hope to see you in my next videohi there this is ranit and I have been using the iPhone it's not working properly whenever we get a call True caller simply does not pop and shows who is calling only when you go to the True caller app it shows who is calling so I don't like that functionality on Android uh when when you use True caller when you get a call you just get a pop it in real time and it shows who's calling but that's not the case with the even the iPhone uh 7 that's one of the cons I would say if you rely too much on uh true that was the problem with the iPhone 6s that's the same with the iPhone 7 also and this is the last question this is by Tas he's asking is the hissing sound noticeable during the calls atas to be frank I didn't notice any hissing call uh sound whatever while taking calls or even after gaming uh some people were saying that you get that hissing song when the phone is stressed I played asphalt8 for 15 minutes and then also I didn't hear any hissing song but again I also got two otaa updates and I somewhere with the latest OT update Apple has fixed that hissing sound so as of now I'm not getting that hissing sound so these were 18 of the common questions that I was getting on the iPhone 7 again stay tuned to my channel I'll be posting a lot more videos on the iPhone 7 and also an in-depth review in the next couple of weeks so again guys I hope this uh video was helpful and if you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel hit
