The Unboxing of the Asus Transformer Prime: A Hands-On Review by Your Average Consumer
As your average consumer, I just want to let you guys know that this channel was made with the average consumer in mind. Today, I have an unboxing video of the Asus Transformer Prime, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on this device.
I got the opportunity to get my hands on a brand new Asus Transformer Prime from Staples, although it had been purchased by someone else just yesterday. Apparently, they found it too complicated for their kid and returned it on the same day, which means it didn't have the little plastic wrap on it that most devices come with. To be honest, I don't really care about the discount; what matters is that it's still brand new and ready to go.
As I began to unwrap the device, I was impressed by the sleek design of the box. It had a nice little cushion on top, which made it easy to pull out the contents without damaging anything. Of course, as soon as I took off the plastic wrap, I knew that this wasn't just any ordinary packaging job. The plastic was not as tight as usual, and that's when I realized that this device came with a special kind of protection.
Moving on to the specifications, the Asus Transformer Prime boasts a Tegra 3 quad-core processor and an 8.3 mm slim super IPS panel. That sounds like some serious specs right there! But what really caught my attention was the 8 megapixel camera and Sonic Master Crystal Pure sound reproduction. I'm not sure what kind of technology goes into creating those claims, but I'll be sure to put it to the test in my review.
As I continued to unbox the device, I noticed that it came with an optional dock, which I didn't have access to since I wasn't home at the time. However, I did get a chance to examine the warranty information and registration details. It's always great to see what kind of support the manufacturer offers, but in this case, I'm not sure if the lack of a dock is going to be an issue for me.
Now that I've finally unwrapped the device, let me take a closer look at it. The Asus Transformer Prime has an aluminum back, which I've heard can sometimes cause Wi-Fi issues. But so far, mine seems to be working just fine. It's definitely on the heavier side, similar to my iPad, but I don't feel any noticeable difference when using both devices.
As I powered up the device for the first time, I was greeted by a simple and unobtrusive interface. The power button is located on the right-hand side of the device, which I find to be a decent placement. There are also volume jacks, a USB port, and an HDMI port – but I'm still not sure which one is for the micro SD card slot. I'll just have to wait until I get my hands on it again to figure that out.
One last thing I want to mention before I wrap up this review is that the camera is definitely a major selling point for this device. The 8 megapixel sensor and 1.2 me Mixel camera are sure to take some amazing photos, but we'll just have to wait until my full review to see how it performs.
In conclusion, this unboxing video was just a starting point for what I hope will be an in-depth review of the Asus Transformer Prime. As your average consumer, I want to share my honest thoughts and opinions about this device, so be sure to stick around for more updates.
