MID-WEEK 180 - F1 Testing _ Jaguar iPace _ RS4 Launch Control !

Welcome to Petrolhead: Midweek 180

I'm glad to be back at home this week, as the horrific weather conditions in the UK have forced me to reschedule my work plans. The bonus of that is I get to catch up with some F1 testing, which is always fascinating. For those who haven't seen one of these before, this is my midweek update where I bring you news, views, and information about upcoming reviews, all filmed in one take.

I'll start my timer so back to form again. Last week was a huge success, with Francois Ji's first comment well done! Let's see if someone can beat that this week. First comment this week, I will give you a shout out next week. Where are you, and what are you doing? That was our eighth Malou Man, right channel name, watching the midweek 180 at 4 a.m. at work having a coffee. So, where are you right now on what are you doing, and I'll give you a shout-out next week.

Last week's question was basically would you spec the auto part facility on a new car? And I actually can't repeat some of the comments that were put in. The basic kind of summary would be no, and a lot of people said if you did spec it, basically means you can't drive and shouldn't be allowed to be driving the car in the first place or if you did spec it, the only way you'd use it is to try and impress your passengers. If you tuned in on Friday for my RS4 review, I actually do use auto park, so have a look at that if you've never seen it work before.

This week's question is basically seeming as the F1 testing has started this week, what your predictions are for this year's F1 season? Both in terms of the teams and the drivers. My gut feeling is Mercedes and Ferrari are going to be strong. I think that's probably quite obvious. I'm pretty sure the Red Bull car is going to be very good as well. The design looks really good, and I would hope as a McLaren fan that with a better and more reliable power unit in the back and a good chassis, the McLaren car is going to do well.

Now, let's have a bit of a chat about F1 testing. Obviously, a few more cars have broken cover this week. McLaren released their car, and it looks nice. I love the orange; it just needs some more sponsors on it really badly. But obviously, I had a bit of an incident from the first day of testing and with the Lancer coming off due to a wheel coming off. The amusing story I saw in there was apparently the car was so unused to going around the corner that fast that basically the wheel just gave up and fell off.

Now this quick story I do want to cover is, and it kind of came out after I'd filmed last week's midweek 180 unfortunately but Porsche's announcement last week that they're going to stop making diesel variants of their cars which I think is a great shame. They're going to focus on basically petrol and hybrid. I don't feel ever driven a diesel Porsche, I've driven the V8 Diesel Skn, and this is a phenomenal car. I know it's a bit sad that we won't have those beautiful diesels anymore.

The latest news on F1 is that my upcoming film for next Friday will be testing launch control with an RS4 to see if you would do 4.1 seconds. You need to tune in to Friday to see how I got on, and I think you'll be impressed anyway. I'll leave you at that; I'm gonna get back to watching a bit of F1 and see on the next film guys.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys and welcome to petrol ped and welcome to this week's midweek 180 well as you can see I am at home again this week I wasn't meant to be but due to the horrific weather conditions were having in the UK at the moment ie there's a small dusting of snow on the ground the country's come to a standstill and my plans for work this week have to change so the bonus of that is it means I'm at home and I can get to catch up with the f1 testing which is very interesting anyway if you've not seen one of these before this is my midweek update where I bring you my news views and information about upcoming reviews all filmed in one take I put 180 seconds in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen and that's it a very simple format so without further ado let's get cracking with this week's midweek 180 I shall start my timer so back to form again last week was a Francois ji first comment well done Nate let's see if someone can beaten this week first comment this week I will give you a shout out next week where are you and what you're doing that was our eighth Malou man right channel name you are watching the midweek 180 at 4 a.m. at work having a coffee amusing story i saw in there some of the press was apparently the car was so unused to going around the corner that fast that basically the wheel just gave up and fell off so the other thing is halo I don't it looks great but I think we will get used to halo and over time we'll just just wonder what the fuss was about now this quick story I do want to cover is and it kind of came out after I'd filmed last week's midweek 180 unfortunately but Porsches announcement last week that they're going to stop making diesel variants of their cars which i think is a great shame they're going to focus on basically petrol and hybrid I don't feel ever driven a diesel Porsche I've driven the v8 diesel skn and this is a phenomenal car I know it's basically an Audi engine the new Panamera Diesel 4s is brilliant as well so in a way I think that's a shame I think it's gonna maybe damage McCann because McCann a lot of people who buy McCann s by the diesel version but it's not just one of what your thoughts would be on that actually last little bit about Geneva in the cars I'm looking forward to I pace is the next car I'm really looking forward to seeing I pace up close and personal and I'm getting very excited about Geneva starting to plan what I'm going to be doing I've even bought extra batteries for my video camera this week to get ready and then the next video which is Friday at 6 o'clock is the rs4 collaboration film and that brings me to the end of my time I'm getting really good at this the second round myself on that one so yeah Friday's film is the RS for collaboration video I have to say a huge thank you to anybody who sent in questions I got overwhelmed seriously overwhelmed I had probably about a hundred or so suggestions and comments and questions for the film and I've done my very best to kind of get as many of those covered I had a real problem editing it because the the initial cup of the film was way way too long and the film's still probably a bit too long to be honest but it's a good one so and you need to tune in on Friday at 6 o'clock for that and that brings me to the end of this week's midweek 180 anyway I hope you've enjoyed this if you have done so give me a thumbs up comments below we're always welcome and don't forget follow me on social media follow me on Instagram I put a lot of extra stuff on Instagram and Facebook in particular so come anyway I will see you on the next film guys which is this Friday at 6 o'clock for the rs4 collaboration film I managed to find launch control to test whether or not you would do 4.1 seconds you need to tune in a Friday to see how I got on I think you'll be impressed anyway I'll leave you at that I'm gonna get back to watching a bit of f1 and I'll see on the next film guys anyway you take care drive safe I'm off to watch some more f1\n"
