**Shark Works' Masterpiece: The 11/10 Porsche GT4**
It's hard to deny that the Porsche GT4 is an exceptional car, and when anyone gets behind the wheel, it's clear why. With its impressive handling and performance, it's a truly wonderful car in the corners. However, Shark Works thinks they have the answer to making it even better, and we're here to find out what they've done.
One of the areas where Shark Works has made significant changes is by leaving the suspension alone. This decision is not only a wise choice but also a testament to their understanding of the GT4's exceptional handling capabilities. There's no need to tamper with something that's already perfect, and we're grateful for it. The engine, on the other hand, was a point of contention among enthusiasts. Shark Works has upgraded the 3.8L engine to provide an extra boost of power, bringing the total output to 420 horsepower.
**The Engine Upgrade**
One of the key areas where Shark Works focused their efforts was in upgrading the engine. They've added some character to the 3.8L unit, making it a more exciting and responsive drive. The new gearing system is also noteworthy, with changes made to the ratios from third through to fifth gear. This tweak has allowed for a shorter blip between gears, giving the driver more control over the car's performance. The engine now produces a delightful sound as you downshift, with the revs picking up speed in a thrilling display of power and agility.
**Lightweight Flywheel and Differential**
Another area where Shark Works made significant improvements was by adding a lightweight flywheel to the car. This not only reduces the overall weight of the vehicle but also gives the engine a more pronounced character. The upgraded differential, complete with a limited-slip system, provides even better traction and handling on the road.
**The Road: Angeles Crest Highway**
Shark Works chose an ideal location to test their masterpiece: Angeles Crest Highway, a stunning stretch of California State Route 66 that winds its way through the San Gabriel Mountains. The highway is renowned for its picturesque views and challenging driving conditions, making it the perfect testing ground for the GT4. As we set off on our journey, we were accompanied by a group of motorcycles at the petrol station, adding an extra layer of excitement to the drive.
**The Verdict: An 11/10 Car**
After spending time with Shark Works' Porsche GT4, I'm convinced that they've managed to create an 11 out of 10 car. The engine upgrade and new gearing system have made a significant difference in the driving experience, while leaving the suspension alone has been a wise decision. The addition of a lightweight flywheel and upgraded differential provides even better handling and performance.
One aspect that initially raised my skepticism was the use of just three gears instead of the full final drive option. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked on the road. The blip shift system is still present, but with more generous ratios between gears, making for a smoother and more enjoyable driving experience.
As we made our way back to Los Angeles after a day of driving on some of the most breathtaking roads in California, the sun setting over the mountains, I couldn't help but feel that Shark Works had truly outdone themselves. The car is not only a joy to drive but also an exceptional machine with character and charm.
The road, too, proved itself to be an incredible testing ground for the GT4, offering spectacular views of the darkening peaks and a sense of tranquility in the evening air. As we drove back into the city lights, I couldn't help but feel that this was one of the best driving experiences I've had all year.
Overall, Shark Works' Porsche GT4 is an exceptional machine that checks every box for performance, handling, and style. The addition of their unique tweaks and upgrades has elevated the car to new heights, making it a truly unforgettable drive.

say a 10 out of 10 car so how'd you make an 11 out of 10 car shark Works thinks they have the answer so where do you start with making a GT4 better well they've left the suspension alone which is a very good thing I think because there's just no need to touch that at all it's a truly wonderful car in the corners as we know if we were looking for things to change well the engine obviously it was what that does means that on a really tight twisty road you can use first and second predominantly in the sort of that plane of the gearbox and on a road like this you can use third and fourth and third becomes much more useful cuz it's that much closer to second gear and you don't have to do the the Z slightly awkward second or third shift I never really mind it I quite like going across the
