**From Chalk Paint to Chic: A Living Room Makeover**
As we sat down with our host, who had been planning this living room makeover for what felt like an eternity, it was clear that she had put a lot of thought and effort into every detail. "So, some of it's wood, some of it's like plywood or particle board with a veneer on top," she explained, "point is we need to shift gears so the plan because I want a durable matte finish." With a flick of her wrist, the plan was set in motion, and the transformation began.
**A Shift from Wood Grain to Matte Finish**
The host's desire for a durable matte finish led her to choose chalk paint as the perfect solution. "I just won't get as much wood grain as I would have wanted," she noted, "but I definitely want to look black when you look at it and not just like a light wood table that has a greenish tint." With chalk paint on the agenda, the focus shifted from wood grain to a sleek, matte finish. The host's enthusiasm was palpable as she began to envision her new space.
**A Sunny Day Brings New Possibilities**
On the next day, the host and her team set out to bring everything together. "This is the day we're going to bring everything together," she announced, beaming with excitement. As they worked, the room began to take shape, and the host couldn't help but feel like a kid in a candy store. "I'm an overjoyed little kid right now," she gushed. The installation of the media bench was a highlight, with its sleek design and temporary setup.
**Layering Textures and Colors**
The host's love for natural materials shone through as she chose a loomed wool sheepskin to add a layered rug moment to her space. "I'm really hoping this rug is the one I like," she said, eyeing the new addition. The rug's simplicity belied its complexity, with a mid-century modern design that added a touch of sophistication to the room. As the host worked, her excitement grew, and she couldn't wait to see the finished result.
**The Final Touches**
As the project neared completion, the host couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. "I'm finally happy with the rug choice," she said, nodding in approval. The room had come together seamlessly, with each element working in harmony to create a cohesive space. The final touches ā art, accessories, and a stylish storage TV bench ā completed the transformation, and the host couldn't wait to share her new living room with her audience.
**A Living Room Redesigned**
The host's living room makeover was a true labor of love, with each stage of the process showcasing her creativity and attention to detail. From chalk paint to layered rugs, every decision had been carefully considered to create a space that was both beautiful and functional. As she looked around at her newly designed living room, the host couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and satisfaction. This was more than just a makeover ā it was a testament to her hard work and dedication.
**The Journey Continues**
As we bid farewell to this epic living room makeover, we can't help but wonder what's next for our host and her making home crew. With plenty of projects still in the pipeline, including episodes on patching walls and hiding unsightly storage, there's no shortage of excitement on the horizon. Don't be too sad, though ā more making home episodes are just around the corner, and we can't wait to see what our host has in store for us next.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is the day we are going to bring everything together so i am an overjoyed little kid right now welcome guys to my series about diying and styling and making over and making my new house feel like a home hi guys and welcome back to making home my name is kelsey and today is a very anticipated episode we are tackling my living room i don't know if it's anticipated because we all have a living room or because i've been like sneak peeking it but really trying to keep it a secret from you guys or just the fact that this has probably taken me like a year to film it's probably one of the longest makeovers that's ever taken place but we bring it all together today and i'm so excited so before we jump in i do want to mention that this video is sponsored by miele note aka my new best friend you guys know that i get a little indecisive when doing my makeovers and between my personal home the sorry girls project's going on there's a lot of ideas and it's been great to have mila note to help me organize and actually put those ideas somewhere visually because i'm a visual learner it's a great creative tool there's gonna be more email note later but let's just jump in so the first thing i did when i moved in was pull up the quarter round at the baseboards and installed a new more modern aesthetic trim but once that was done it's time to go find the perfect couch i'm on the hunt so luckily stores were open in the summer so i could go sit my butt on some options ikea is the affordable option but i would likely want to recover with a custom slipcover and who's ready for couch shopping day two somebody just yelled to me nice buns miss and i was like i'm wearing a dress you can't even see my buns all so uncalled for and then i realized they literally meant my buns guys i have good news i found a couch i honestly did not know if this day would come i feel like i've been looking forever online asking recommendations so you saw i visited cb2 eq3 west elm and we previously visited ikea article online also has some good options but i'm excited to tell you what i ended up going with the oma sofa at eq3 now eq3 i believe is a canadian company montreal based and their prices were extremely affordable pretty much all their sofas had like this little little cheat sheet and then it has on the back like all the configurations like you can customize each sofa but basically anywhere else like cb2 or west elm like most of them you couldn't make configuration changes and if you could they were really small options so i'm excited that you know i could pick the oma sofa and you know you can pick the fabric you can pick the size of the sofa whether it's a sectional or not the sofa i'm looking at like for the cheapest fabric sample starts at well also it's on sale so that's even better but it starts at 19.99 so 2 000 which i understand is a lot but like that's how much you're paying first hopefully let's be honest the final really bad news of this all is that it's gonna take six to nine weeks to get in that's like basically two months like i'm not gonna have a sofa until like october but you know what i think it's worth it to get something that i like with the fabric that i like with the sizing that i like and it's just a relief knowing that i've picked one but i do think i'm gonna need a temporary sofa anyways i'm excited i picked i made a decision it's a big day when i make a decision and i make a big decision because i'm very indecisive so i know i told you i was all excited about this couch but i actually haven't put in the order yet and i need to pick color so they gave me all these fabric swatches so that's what i'm going to do now also i want to confirm the size which is 89.5 inches and 36.5 deep hi guys um so while i wait for this couch i do have a temporary couch that my parents have lent me from their home it looks like this it is a straight up 80s 90s coach um and it is from the 80s 90s it's been in my family for a little while now um i used to actually love sliding down the back of it because it's kind of like a little slide if you're a toddler um so we're just gonna rock this for the next nine weeks while um while i wait for my couch good thing it's pandemic because i can't have any friends over is there a world where i could get you guys to help me swap the coaches so i can put it here thank you i wouldn't be able to move it by myself and i would obviously want to probably yeah well this one though oh no this one though yeah i know i really want to see it you know in its final position thank you can i give you this thanks for your help for waiting oh hold on that's all right thank you thank you have a great day you too wow that's an upgrade if i've ever seen one i think i did pretty good i think i did pretty good can't believe how long i've been waiting for this day looks good feels good can't wait to break it in i feel like couches are a little bit better you know once you like break them in a little bit but amazing honestly i don't know when i'm going to get to working on the rest of the living room because there's so many other places to work on like the loft and also the entryway is something i kind of want to get checked off before winter comes so i can hang out my hang up my coats but yeah i've been waiting for this i'm super happy and i'll talk to you guys in another nine weeks when i decorate my living room for you it'll be nine seconds hello looking like the toronto hipster that i wish i was okay today we are gonna go pick up i thought this was gonna be for the entranceway video but i just realized that this is gonna be the living room video we're gonna go pick up a side table and maybe get to work on some living room stuff there's so much to do around the house guys i don't know what order all these videos are coming out but the order of me is just overwhelmed so we're gonna go to a side table have a measuring tape okay and remember when it used to be summer like when did we how has it i'm overwhelmed i think i'm gonna need a coat it's that cold out let's go get a side table don't forget your mask i have one in the car um so she has some wear and tear including a chip on the corner there i really like the color it's like it kind of looks a little red on camera but it's not too red a lot is looking very red right now what is going on with my camera but it's like a nice walnut color um it's a big size too and it's gonna be a nice little accent piece my hair really does look really red right now and i kind of love it the fall is my season so i know i haven't really given you guys a good tour of the living room and i've been living with it for like i've had my couch for like a month or so really liking it and i just kind of like started to set it up like a living room so that i could actually just like live but there's a lot of things are going to change in here i honestly don't know if i'm going to keep the coffee table just because this is like a walk through area and having a large like kind of pointy coffee table isn't ideal but i do like it so we'll see it does have a green tone i don't know if anybody else sees that i do like green tones but not when it's supposed to be a wood tone you know and then obviously the tv is gonna go here these are my nightstands from downstairs again just getting the overall setup so that i can feel out the vibe i think i'm gonna custom build my own my own built-in here definitely need to swap out the rug i bought this place i bought this rug for my last place but i don't know my styles just changed or i don't know what i honestly don't know about the size like i don't know if it's the right size or if i should go bigger kind of depends i obviously like a layered rug moment i could do like a simple one underneath that goes really large and then another one just under a coffee table but all i'm saying is this is gonna go away oh and then of course this thing i picked up off of online secondhand i really really really really like it what do i have in here oh my god oh yeah it's a little banged up but i honestly really like it and kind of already was starting to style it my sister got me this coffee table book for my birthday and i think it fits perfectly in here but nobody puts any cups on it or anything you know is it still called a coffee table book if you put it on your side table i think i put this up in the in the front entryway makeover but really it's like it's the the light starts in the entry but then protrudes into the living room but i think it looks really good over top here i haven't wired it properly yet so it's um it doesn't work but um it's coming together i'm starting to feel good about it i need more side tables for this side but something i wanted to do that i've been itching to do because i feel like this window is very sad right now and i do have linens so i thought why don't we hang up a curtain rod so we can see like really how this is gonna look because it is super weird that the couch isn't centered under the window so i need to figure out how i'm gonna make that work for me okay jk i don't have a long enough curtain rod so see you later and just like that it is winter i found this chair on facebook marketplace and it was really close recently posted and a pretty good price so i raced over to grab it since i've been considering an accent chair for my living room i think if i get a smaller coffee table that actually could work but again i want to change the color but it is really comfy yeah i do like this chair um i thought it would be too big but i don't know maybe it is too big i need almost somebody else to come over and be like yeah it looks crowded in here you know also carpet samples are coming and on my couch i just have every single pillow that i've ever owned but let's swap out some of these that's much better ikea finally restocked the longer black curtain rod so it's time to frame this window with some hand sewn linen curtains that match the rest of my houses hand sewn linen curtains um obviously i picked up these at the thrift store a while ago i picked up like so many frames one day like one day i brought like bought 20 frames and i was just like i'll use these one day so i picked up these little guys i really liked how they were square i've been seeing a lot of square frames and i was vibing with them and i thought they would look cute kind of in that corner right there under this lamp fill up this weird gap between the side table and the curtains gray isn't really my vibe so i'm gonna take them apart and i'm gonna probably paint it black but the black i have is i think a pearl finish so i might add baking powder to it and make it matte i hate how everybody and their mom is doing this right now but you know when you learn a hack you learn a hack one january night i could not sleep then i found myself on etsy and rediscovered all the vintage rug accounts i got too excited that i had to come upstairs measure and place an order in legitimately the middle of the night a few short weeks later my package had arrived should we see how this looks that's a vibe we have a vibe so this is the vibe we got lots of kind of color and tones which is really cool it's dark which i wanted it's bigger so that it kind of grounds everything instead of just the coffee table being grounded i do wish it was a little bit longer so it could fit under the side table fully but it's really hard to find a rug that's a big enough size but then isn't too wide this way anyways i'm really happy with it welcome back to another adventure of buying strangers furniture today's episode nesting side tables so it's been a little while sometimes making over rooms is hard sometimes it's hard to keep your thoughts focused and you know i don't want to spend too much money i like to shop secondhand we're in the middle of a pandemic which makes it all the more difficult but i finally found a tool that helps me get and stay on track this is miele note folks we're talking about milano i actually saw a video by diy danny where she used a millinote to figure out her diy process and keep everything organized and as soon as i saw her use it in the video i knew that i had to sign up if you're like me you probably used a lot of different organization tools in the past and none have worked just perfectly but i really really love millino because they are a completely free form canvas it's very intuitive and on this canvas i can do anything from putting in so pics to create to-do lists to you know draw arrows so that i can keep everything organized and you can pull in links from websites then the photo's already there and then you have a link to something so you don't have to save like the image and then also save a separate link so that you don't forget what chair you wanted from a certain website it's just it's so smart why did i not have this until now and i can easily share my boards with the rest of my team for any feedback or if we're collaborating on a project together if you don't know to begin they have helpful templates for a variety of projects to get you started so now that i've discovered milano i'm using it to gather all of my thoughts bring in my inspiration pictures bring in photos of things that i've already pieced together or similar items that i've already collected for the space so that i can make sure that everything new that i'm purchasing or diying or upcycling is going to fit with the vision that i already have maybe if i did this earlier i would have realized that i wanted a light rug instead of a dark rug yes ladies and gentlemen i am going to be swapping out the rock it's not my fault okay i didn't have milano before no it's also just sometimes you need to see things in the space okay i'm not gonna be hard on myself i hope you're not hard on me because i'm not gonna be a hard on you if you need to take some time to figure out your design okay it's fine just gotta like try everything before we know what we love i'm dating i'm dating my living room furniture who wants to get married creating my living room project in meal note has really helped me focus my creative vision hopefully there's less insecurity about my decisions moving forward so give milano a try on your next creative project i know that you guys will like genuinely love it and you can sign up using the link in the description down below but that being said on my mood board design board here you can see that i was kind of toying with different coffee table styles either a waterfall edge style which i have been looking for online or a pedestal based style i just these are the two that are speaking to me and i recently found this one on kijiji uh let's go pick it up it's a little far away but i think it's worth it i've been looking for a long time and this one just came up before i could head out i needed to know where i was going but this address would not come up for me this place is about an hour away so i want to make sure i knew exactly where to go since i couldn't rely on google maps okay goodwood public school is that the road that yes okay that was like a 45-minute affair to figure out where exactly in the country i'm driving and also she wants 80 cash and um sorry i didn't want to go to the bank so one of those days y'all one of those days hi so no wonder it took me like 30 minutes of calling and texting her before i left to figure out where this place was because she gave me the wrong address she mixed up a number that's okay i got the table um i think it's gonna be perfect needs a little bit of an upcycle but it shouldn't be too difficult but more importantly um as i was driving here i went through a little town that might look familiar to some of you if you watch certain canadian sitcoms so uh let's go for a little tour back at the office with my new table my plan is to sand it down and then stain it a gorgeous black we will come back to this but also while in office i'm going to upcycle this already upcycled lamp from when we were on the drew barrymore show casual flex but i'm going to be painting it a dark brown color which you guessed it is left over from the toilet room so amongst everything going on i can't get my dream media console made because of the lockdown i can't get the wood and everything that we need to make it so i'm gonna make some kind of media under the tv shelf situation just to tide us over using things that we already have in the office aka lots of timbre this is my design um but there's this angled situation that we need to figure out which means that you know we need to fig we need to use our pythagorean theorem y'all and google like they literally just have like you insert your you insert your values isn't that crazy we are trying to we already know c squared so we're trying to figure out b so this is a c is 21.38 so a3 oh really oh which means that b equals 20.99 so let's see if that all adds up let's let's make a shelf thing shall we so my gold tv cabinet is closed storage with cane webbing doors and complements the color of my flooring i'm going to be making two shelves out of leftover timber but i'll be making it the exact size of what the future cabinet will be so it's the next day and um we've had a slight shift in plans we sanded it down tried staining it black didn't really hold also this is a veneer so some of it's wood some of it's like plywood or like particle board with a veneer on top so point is we need to shift gears so the plan because i want a durable matte finish the best thing to do is go with a chalk paint so that's the plan now and i think it'll look good it's still gonna be black i just won't get as much wood grain as i would have wanted but i definitely want to look black when you look at it and not just like a light wood table that has black green so painting we shall do it's so sunny out i can't get everything in exposure but our projects are done rachel's been helping me by the way you guys might have met her in our law fives episode but anyways this is rachel um and we're gonna go to my house and go to my house whatever this is so back in my house we kind of needed to take everything out of the living room to lay down my new rug but you may notice this chair yeah i know it's just ever slightly different from the last one that you saw this one i also thrifted online and it's a little bit smaller and a little bit more modern so i picked it up anyways back to the rug i'm really hoping this rug is the one i like natural materials for my rugs and this one is wool with a cool mid-century modern design and since this rug is so large and simple i'm bringing in a loomed wool sheepskin for a layered rug moment okay it's the next day and this is the day we are going to bring everything together so i am an overjoyed little kid right now and the first thing we're going to do is install this media bench looks pretty good for just like a temporary whipped it up thing am i right so i don't drink coffee but i haven't had my morning coffee get in although actually wouldn't coffee make it worse yeah now i just need to figure out how to plug things in like should i have not had this back line you know what i mean well i think i'm done with you a and kobe thanks kobe i will pull the rest of this together just hanging some art you know all the funnest thing all the finesse we're getting you out of here let's go it's letting your work what i knew that i had a feeling that's brutal dad don't look my dad's gonna be so disappointed me that's okay i'm an expert at patching now watch how to go do on the sorry girls wait is that episode oh i don't think that episode comes in it's coming soon how to patch a wall i feel like i need to actually cut this do i have a sauce of course i don't this isn't the star girls office oh my god you can see it we're just painting this today guys i'm not patching it until i get my new cabinet wait what if i don't even attach this to the wall this is freaking cool let's just do this i mean this would be the hardest thing i did all year this is why i bought this really expensive speaker so i can just hide it all i need a little basket with all my switch accessories okay let's hang some art how fitting that i hang up my 2002 sneaker drawing can you tell i'm low on art with my light bright peg case nails what do okay now i guess it's time for final touches i can't believe we're here after uh like a year like legitimately a year we had that old couch we've had like four different rugs in here final touch time baby it's finally final final touch time just like there's a whole nother meaning now like finally final touches i can't wait to get the closed storage tv bench in here i think we did a really good job on the temporary option and it has helped reassure me of the sizing but if you guys can't tell i don't like styling open shelving just for the sake of having open shelving we all have our weaknesses and apparently mine is chocolate and i'm so happy with my little living room i think this is definitely a hard space to decorate because it's just long and narrow and there aren't really specific zones but i think i did a pretty good job of making a living room zone i'm finally happy with the rug choice i know we had a different couple different iterations of chairs and rugs but it has all come together thank you guys for coming along with me on this very long journey and don't be too sad there still are some making home episodes to come we're not done yet but i'm glad to share the living room so i can stop hiding it from you guys in my stories on instagram and don't forget to check out milano in the description down below thanks for watching and i'll see you next time bye youthis is the day we are going to bring everything together so i am an overjoyed little kid right now welcome guys to my series about diying and styling and making over and making my new house feel like a home hi guys and welcome back to making home like this window is very sad right now and i do have linens so i thought why don't we hang up a curtain rod so we can see like really how this is gonna look because it is super weird that the couch isn't centered under the window so i need to figure out how i'm gonna make that work for me okay jk i don't have a long enough curtain rod so see you later and just like that it is winter i found this chair on facebook marketplace and it was really close recently posted and a pretty good price so i raced over to grab it since i've been considering an accent chair for my living room i think if i get a smaller coffee table that actually could work but again i want to change the color but it is really comfy yeah i do like this chair um i thought it would be too big but i don't know maybe it is too big i need almost somebody else to come over and be like yeah it looks crowded in here you know also carpet samples are coming and on my couch i just have every single pillow that i've ever owned but let's swap out some of these that's much better ikea finally restocked the longer black curtain rod so it's time to frame this window with some hand sewn linen curtains that match the rest of my houses hand sewn linen curtains um obviously i picked up these at the thrift store a while ago i picked up like so many frames one day like one day i brought like bought 20 frames and i was just like i'll use these one day so i picked up these little guys i really liked how they were square i've been seeing a lot of square frames and i was vibing with them and i thought they would look cute kind of in that corner right there under this lamp fill up this weird gap between the side table and the curtains gray isn't really my vibe so i'm gonna take them apart and i'm gonna probably paint it black but the black i have is i think a pearl finish so i might add baking powder to it and make it matte i hate how everybody and their mom is doing this right now but you know when you learn a hack you learn a hack one january night i could not sleep then i found myself on etsy and rediscovered all the vintage rug accounts i got too excited that i had to come upstairs measure and place an order in legitimately the middle of the night a few short weeks later my package had arrived should we see how this looks that's a vibe we have a vibe so this is the vibe we got lots of kind of color and tones which is really cool it's dark which i wanted it's bigger so that it kind of grounds everything instead of just the coffee table being grounded i do wish it was a little bit longer so it could fit under the side table fully but it's really hard to find a rug that's a big enough size but then isn't too wide this way anyways i'm really happy with it welcome back to another adventure of buying strangers furniture today's episode nesting side tables so it's been a little while sometimes making over rooms is hard sometimes it's hard to keep your thoughts focused and you know i don't want to spend too much money i like to shop secondhand we're in the middle of a pandemic which makes it all the more difficult but i finally found a tool that helps me get and stay on track this is miele note folks we're talking about milano i actually saw a video by diy danny where she used a millinote to figure out her diy process and keep everything organized and as soon as i saw her use it in the video i knew that i had to sign up if you're like me you probably used a lot of different organization tools in the past and none have worked just perfectly but i really really love millino because they are a completely free form canvas it's very intuitive and on this canvas i can do anything from putting in so pics to create to-do lists to you know draw arrows so that i can keep everything organized and you can pull in links from websites then the photo's already there and then you have a link to something so you don't have to save like the image and then also save a separate link so that you don't forget what chair you wanted from a certain website it's just it's so smart why did i not have this until now and i can easily share my boards with the rest of my team for any feedback or if we're collaborating on a project together if you don't know to begin they have helpful templates for a variety of projects to get you started so now that i've discovered milano i'm using it to gather all of my thoughts bring in my inspiration pictures bring in photos of things that i've already pieced together or similar items that i've already collected for the space so that i can make sure that everything new that i'm purchasing or diying or upcycling is going to fit with the vision that i already have maybe if i did this earlier i would have realized that i wanted a light rug instead of a dark rug yes ladies and gentlemen i am going to be swapping out the rock it's not my fault okay i didn't have milano before no it's also just sometimes you need to see things in the space okay i'm not gonna be hard on myself i hope you're not hard on me because i'm not gonna be a hard on you if you need to take some time to figure out your design okay it's fine just gotta like try everything before we know what we love i'm dating i'm dating my living room furniture who wants to get married creating my living room project in meal note has really helped me focus my creative vision hopefully there's less insecurity about my decisions moving forward so give milano a try on your next creative project i know that you guys will like genuinely love it and you can sign up using the link in the description down below but that being said on my mood board design board here you can see that i was kind of toying with different coffee table styles either a waterfall edge style which i have been looking for online or a pedestal based style i just these are the two that are speaking to me and i recently found this one on kijiji uh let's go pick it up it's a little far away but i think it's worth it i've been looking for a long time and this one just came up before i could head out i needed to know where i was going but this address would not come up for me this place is about an hour away so i want to make sure i knew exactly where to go since i couldn't rely on google maps okay goodwood public school is that the road that yes okay that was like a 45-minute affair to figure out where exactly in the country i'm driving and also she wants 80 cash and um sorry i didn't want to go to the bank so one of those days y'all one of those days hi so no wonder it took me like 30 minutes of calling and texting her before i left to figure out where this place was because she gave me the wrong address she mixed up a number that's okay i got the table um i think it's gonna be perfect needs a little bit of an upcycle but it shouldn't be too difficult but more importantly um as i was driving here i went through a little town that might look familiar to some of you if you watch certain canadian sitcoms so uh let's go for a little tour back at the office with my new table my plan is to sand it down and then stain it a gorgeous black we will come back to this but also while in office i'm going to upcycle this already upcycled lamp from when we were on the drew barrymore show casual flex but i'm going to be painting it a dark brown color which you guessed it is left over from the toilet room so amongst everything going on i can't get my dream media console made because of the lockdown i can't get the wood and everything that we need to make it so i'm gonna make some kind of media under the tv shelf situation just to tide us over using things that we already have in the office aka lots of timbre this is my design um but there's this angled situation that we need to figure out which means that you know we need to fig we need to use our pythagorean theorem y'all and google like they literally just have like you insert your you insert your values isn't that crazy we are trying to we already know c squared so we're trying to figure out b so this is a c is 21.38 so a3 oh really oh which means that b equals 20.99 so let's see if that all adds up let's let's make a shelf thing shall we so my gold tv cabinet is closed storage with cane webbing doors and complements the color of my flooring i'm going to be making two shelves out of leftover timber but i'll be making it the exact size of what the future cabinet will be so it's the next day and um we've had a slight shift in plans we sanded it down tried staining it black didn't really hold also this is a veneer so some of it's wood some of it's like plywood or like particle board with a veneer on top so point is we need to shift gears so the plan because i want a durable matte finish the best thing to do is go with a chalk paint so that's the plan now and i think it'll look good it's still gonna be black i just won't get as much wood grain as i would have wanted but i definitely want to look black when you look at it and not just like a light wood table that has black green so painting we shall do it's so sunny out i can't get everything in exposure but our projects are done rachel's been helping me by the way you guys might have met her in our law fives episode but anyways this is rachel um and we're gonna go to my house and go to my house whatever this is so back in my house we kind of needed to take everything out of the living room to lay down my new rug but you may notice this chair yeah i know it's just ever slightly different from the last one that you saw this one i also thrifted online and it's a little bit smaller and a little bit more modern so i picked it up anyways back to the rug i'm really hoping this rug is the one i like natural materials for my rugs and this one is wool with a cool mid-century modern design and since this rug is so large and simple i'm bringing in a loomed wool sheepskin for a layered rug moment okay it's the next day and this is the day we are going to bring everything together so i am an overjoyed little kid right now and the first thing we're going to do is install this media bench looks pretty good for just like a temporary whipped it up thing am i right so i don't drink coffee but i haven't had my morning coffee get in although actually wouldn't coffee make it worse yeah now i just need to figure out how to plug things in like should i have not had this back line you know what i mean well i think i'm done with you a and kobe thanks kobe i will pull the rest of this together just hanging some art you know all the funnest thing all the finesse we're getting you out of here let's go it's letting your work what i knew that i had a feeling that's brutal dad don't look my dad's gonna be so disappointed me that's okay i'm an expert at patching now watch how to go do on the sorry girls wait is that episode oh i don't think that episode comes in it's coming soon how to patch a wall i feel like i need to actually cut this do i have a sauce of course i don't this isn't the star girls office oh my god you can see it we're just painting this today guys i'm not patching it until i get my new cabinet wait what if i don't even attach this to the wall this is freaking cool let's just do this i mean this would be the hardest thing i did all year this is why i bought this really expensive speaker so i can just hide it all i need a little basket with all my switch accessories okay let's hang some art how fitting that i hang up my 2002 sneaker drawing can you tell i'm low on art with my light bright peg case nails what do okay now i guess it's time for final touches i can't believe we're here after uh like a year like legitimately a year we had that old couch we've had like four different rugs in here final touch time baby it's finally final final touch time just like there's a whole nother meaning now like finally final touches i can't wait to get the closed storage tv bench in here i think we did a really good job on the temporary option and it has helped reassure me of the sizing but if you guys can't tell i don't like styling open shelving just for the sake of having open shelving we all have our weaknesses and apparently mine is chocolate and i'm so happy with my little living room i think this is definitely a hard space to decorate because it's just long and narrow and there aren't really specific zones but i think i did a pretty good job of making a living room zone i'm finally happy with the rug choice i know we had a different couple different iterations of chairs and rugs but it has all come together thank you guys for coming along with me on this very long journey and don't be too sad there still are some making home episodes to come we're not done yet but i'm glad to share the living room so i can stop hiding it from you guys in my stories on instagram and don't forget to check out milano in the description down below thanks for watching and i'll see you next time bye you\n"
