Xiaomi Mi Max Review - In-Depth Detailed Review

The Mi Max: A Review of the Large-Screen Mobile Phone

As I held the Mi Max in my hands, I was immediately struck by its sheer size. Measuring 6.4 inches on the diagonal, this phone is not for everyone - particularly those who want a device that can fit comfortably in their pockets. However, if you're looking for a phone that's perfect for media consumption, then the Mi Max is definitely worth considering.

The camera capabilities of the Mi Max are impressive, capturing macro photos with great detail. The daylight photos tend to come out quite well, and even though it has a low light performance, using the flash can still produce usable shots. It's no surprise that the reviewer mentions this as one of the downsides, but for those who want high-quality camera work, this phone is certainly capable.

Another feature worth mentioning is the audio quality. The loudspeaker may not be the loudest out there, but it's reasonably loud and sounds good to the reviewer. They also tested the headphone jack, which delivers clear sound with no annoying static or distortion. Furthermore, the phone supports wireless headphones, making for a seamless gaming experience.

Gaming on the Mi Max is surprisingly smooth, handling 1080p games without any problems. The reviewer experienced zero slowdown or choppiness during gameplay, and was impressed by the phone's ability to keep up with demanding titles like Mortal Kombat X and Real Racing 3. However, it's worth noting that high temperatures may arise after extended gaming sessions - although this is not alarming.

One area where the Mi Max falls short is in terms of thermals. While it does get warm when used for an extended period, the temperature never becomes alarmingly hot to the touch. The reviewer suggests that this might be a concern for some users, but for most people, it's unlikely to cause any problems.

Other notable features include the phone's 3.5mm headphone jack and its ability to support remote controls and microphones. However, it's worth noting that the phone does not offer 4K video quality, with only 30 frames per second being supported.

One of the most distinctive features of the Mi Max is its unique "MIUI" skin, which may not appeal to everyone. The reviewer mentions that some people will find the design and interface "iso-like," but this should be mitigated by downloading a global ROM version of the phone, which should eliminate any Chinese text or other issues.

Overall, I was impressed with the Mi Max - its large screen, good camera capabilities, and seamless gaming experience make it an excellent choice for media consumption. While it's not perfect, and some users may find certain features off-putting, this phone is definitely worth considering for those in the market for a new device.

Battery life on the Mi Max is also noteworthy, with the reviewer stating that it lasts a long time before needing to be charged again. This makes it an excellent choice for heavy users who don't want to worry about running out of power mid-day.

In conclusion, the Mi Max is a great option for anyone looking for a phone that's perfect for media consumption, gaming, and everyday use. Its large screen, good camera capabilities, and seamless audio experience make it an excellent choice - although some users may find certain features off-putting. With its impressive battery life and durable construction, this phone is definitely worth considering for those in the market for a new device.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys Chris here and welcome to my review of the xiaomi Mi Max this is a very large mobile phone that has a 6.44 in screen on it you can see the size of it it's not going to be a mobile phone for everyone using it as a standard phone you see it is humongous now bear that in mind when you're looking at this phone that it's probably a phone that's not going to actually fit in most Pockets I'm struggled to fit this in a jeans pocket you must have some pretty large Pockets to be able to take up all the size of this mobile phone here so the particular model I'm reviewing here has the Snapdragon 650 3 GB of RAM and a 32 GB EMC there are other configurations that have the Snapdragon 652 up to 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB emmc so let's have a look at their mobile phone in Greater detail so to quickly cover the design and build of the mmax I find that I can still access the power on button here with one hand and the phone feels relatively grippy there but of course in winter when my hands will probably be colder uh I do imagine it probably be a little bit slippery because it does have an alloy backing on it here we do have a fingerprint scanner on the rear me logo these parts at the bottom and top I'm pretty sure are plastic there and here we have a micro USB 3 Port microphone in here and the loud speaker now on the top we have a secondary microphone IR Blaster there and the 3.5 mm headphone Jack move to the upper left hand side that is our hybrid Sim which will take a Micro SD card or a SIM card in there and moving to the top there we have a 5 megap camera air piece ambient light sensor and proximity sensor and here are the home buttons which are back lit by the way we have back home recent apps and menu button right there and on the right hand side the power on and volume up and down of course so all in all the build of the mobile phone feels quite premium and the glass around here does have a 2.5d rounded edges so there's no sharp edge on there feels very nice in hand and overall I would rate this as a premium build and quite evenly distributed as well the weight of the mobile phone despite being a 200 g heavy it's not too bad it's not top heavy or anything like that it's quite balanced out quite well there now a very quick size comparison here is my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge here is a Galaxy Ace it's an old mobile phone very dated but you can see the difference there and it will clearly fit the S7 Edge within the mmax here and thickness of them both about the same and there you can see so that'll give you an idea if you can go to a store or something and have a look at the size of the S7 in here compare that to what the humongous MX is and then you can gauge if that's going to fit in your pocket or you can actually handle it so here's what this mmax screen looks like in the shadow here you can make it out quite well this is on Full brightness and I find that the 1080p display is a very nice display a beautiful display quite a nice one that show me have selected for this now a look and see what it looks like now in direct sunlight so now in direct sunlight I can just make out the app icons there and again the camera is struggling to pick this up but I'm able to see with my own eyes and make out exactly where things are and I would even be able to actually make a phone call and dial numbers yes I can see that fine now the tablet is running Mi ui7 they did announce that Mi UI 8 is coming and it would be on this phone but it's not actually ready in time there was a huge firmware update that did come out for this it apparently fixed a lot of issues with the wireless and you see here now it's running Mii 7.3.4 stable and I can report that I've had no problems with that whatsoever and that is a skin that is on top of Android 6.0.1 performance of the ROM really good and if you've ever used Mii you'll see that it does have a very ISO look to it it's the way it's themed as well with the icons and things and there is no app draw so it's all just in one that's the way it is so your widgets and then your apps all on the same screen here and you either like it or you don't really I don't find it to be too much of a problem now because I don't have the global ROM here there is a little bit of Chinese that pops up here and there this ROM of course Mii has a lot of extra features too and most of those are very handy ones too so if I just move over now sorry into the settings and just show you just a couple of the the features here that we have additional settings um a lot of them are sort of hidden away here in this menu like headphones you got a lot of different things you can you can change the remote buttons on here uh optimize the headphones as well battery and performance under power you can turn on battery profiles battery saver uh the schedule on and off is something that you normally see just on those mediate Tech phones but it's actually on this Snapdragon of course here and quite a handy little feature there now there is no way to control the performance like you can on the mediate Tech mobiles you can change that to high performance or balanced here there is no option there for that we have notification light system as well you can adjust that and there's a couple of other things on here like one-handed mode you could actually just trigger that from swiping from their home to the side I think it's done by like that here we go what Ed one-handed mode so that allows you to run at like a 4 in screen there and to that you just need to tap the darken areas around that and it goes back to the full screen now because this model here is without the global ROM on there there was some Chinese and other junky bloww applications on there luckily you can literally remove most of them there's still a couple of things that you can't um and they're Mi related like the Mi account and their other applications some of them are useful but to be honest I don't really touch or use those and they do have an integrated Security application that I guess is useful uh but some of it can nag you now and then you do get popup screens with Mii would ask you if you want to use the download Optimizer that they've got and really I think most of those things only really work properly if you're living in China now I'm just scraping the surface here with some of the little extras and things that the Mii does have another thing I do like that is quite handy is the fact that you can go along and hide notifications so if you're sick of seeing Clash of Clans popping up saying you are is ready your upgrades just been done your army misses you then you can actually just stop them so you can go along and say look I'm I'm really tired of seeing this music thing just nagging me all the time you will never see that notification again it's really handy now RAM use Overlook now the applications and see what is actually running when it comes to well there's all system amps sorry and under installed amps have a look at running you see there's a bit the in there and normally I find that you only have around about 1.8 GB free of that 3 GB that this particular model has on board remember there is another model the more expensive one that does have 4 GB but multitasking and everything like that switching between apps I found has been fast and Flawless and really I haven't had any lag or stutters or slauter and everything the Snapdragon 650 does perform really well and it feels like a flagship device to me I'll just quickly show you the performance of chrome hopefully I have enough battery while the battery just tends to go on and on anyway on this phone here so using the keyboard I actually opted to install Google's keyboard here because I found that the the stock one although you can select an English keyboard again this is because I don't have the global ROM did have some Chinese that would come into play there and it just annoyed me a little bit but having such a large screen here makes typing on it quite easy so you can flip that around into and portrait and even there I find just using my two thumbs is how I normally type using mobile phones to be really good and yeah it works nice because you do have all that screen space now the performance of chrome is just really good really smooth I haven't had any problems uh this is quite an image heavy website and it has adapted itself now to the mobile fit here and you going to flip that around yeah very good the touchcreen very responsive and clicking links and everything like that no problems really and you can of course go and request desktop site which I prefer because we have such a large screen here so here's a quick look at the benchmarks I did run on the mmax see ice storm extreme that's 3D Mark I stor unlimited the slingshot score that's a little low but I think still okay these scores and benchmarks aren't really everything but not too bad for the price range of this mobile the and 22 6.1.4 score and here's how it compares to other mobile phones so just a little bit under that of the hcc1 M9 and the OnePlus 2 again not bad I I can think for the price range of this there's are the details there of the score if you want to compare that to your own mobile phone and the geekbench 3 score and here are some 4G speeds now the network was running quite slow actually at the time I did this test those speeds are poor for a 4G connection you can get that with 3G almost but it does work 4G here well at Le where I am in Spain and I hope to later get better speeds but dependent on the network really and just to M information they're using CPU Z so you can see it is running the andrino 510 and finally the sensors on board I know a lot of people sometimes ask in the videos does the phone have a gyroscope well this one does it has a lot of sensors on board there you can see gyroscopes secondary sensors you name it it's got a lot there because I got my model straight from China before the global ROM has been released that's a ROM that will be in English and have Play Store on it I had to install Play Store manually now to do that you need to get the Google services installer and it will actually work it will throw a couple of errors and Play services and Play Store will actually auto update themselves and everything's been fine now I don't get any errors and I found the performance of Play Store is really good no problems with it and I can download everything I'm just going to get now playbooks here just to have a look at some eBooks and it performs quite fast as fast as I would expect from a flagship so I have just loaded up Dan Brown's Inferno here in Playbook and you can see that it looks really good looks fine on the screen sharpen enough the text can also use it in landscape mode here of course so what about about GPS performance well it you can see here it's picking up glown Ness uh the accuracy there in feet doesn't seem to get any better than 10 but I find the performance walking around in town testing it out seemed to be quite good I don't have any problems with it getting a fix on my location it is very quick so how long does it take to charge it zoi claims that you can fully charge the mobile phone in only 2 hours now I haven't been able to get there but apparently maybe the base model doesn't support Quick Charge 3 the chipset does okay the Snapdragon 650 this 652 does support Qualcomm quick charge 3 and I happen to have a Qualcomm quick charger three right here so I'm going to test that out and plug this in now if it goes over 5 Vols it's currently almost at 7 6.5 there it looks like it is at least supporting Quick Charge some form of Quick Charge either two or three spec and using the stock power supply here from them which is rated to 5 Vols and 2 amps I wasn't able to actually get what I would call Quick Charge times at least now charging my unit here took about just under 4 hours about 4 hours so definitely not the claim 2 hours so that's why I think that the base model here actually doesn't support at least quick charging three which is disappointing to see another reason probably why maybe you want to it might be better to actually go for the model the next models up that have the Snapdragon 652 and now with the stock show me charger plugged in you'll see it's outputting 2 amps 5.2 volts there so definitely not what I would call Quick charging and as mentioned it took about 4 hours using this charger that's that's an approximate okay I didn't have time to fully gauge that but it does take a while to charge so I finished running the p Mark battery test and it's just finished up now you see it finishes at 20% battery life so we've still got another 20% left 13 hours and 10 minutes it's worked out that you'll be able to get from the mmax here and you'll see the finer details there for those interested in the score quite an impressive result but you do have to remember that this does have only a 1080p screen and it has that 4,850 mAh battery so let's have a look and see now in the settings we have a look at the battery use so obviously p m took up most of that and here's the history details you can see that I did have a good reasonbly good uh mobile signal there it's not quite in the full green there but while this was on awake display on the whole time and I'll will just have a look now at the hardware so screen screen on time is 11 hours and 15 minutes now remember that the brightness I do have set is reasonably bright for the the calibration of the PC Mark test if you were to tone down that brightness I've still got 20% battery life remember left I'm pretty sure you could get maybe a continuous screen on time of about 14 hours which is quite amazing really quite a good time there and this is definitely the highest scores I have seen on the Chinese mobiles that I review a quick closeup now of the SIM card reader so you can either put a Micro SD card in the first slot or a nano SIM and then a micro SIM so you have two SIM support but you will lose the micro SD card now another thing to note with the micro SD cards is you can actually run it just like expanded storage or you can run it like the internal storage of the phone which is quite handy and that will actually allow you to run everything off that micro SD card so you must use a high performance card in there otherwise you will probably experience some slowdown and issues recording in 4k if your micro SD card isn't up to speed to run as the internal storage of the phone now the mmax supports fingerprint security so you have a fingerprint scanner on the rear of it and it's the same exact Hardware as used in the redmi Note 3 and the Note 3 Pro and I find it actually works flawlessly every time it works for me when I use it and you only need to scan your finger five times when sting it up and it literally works for me nine out of 10 times or in fact probably 10 out of 10 times so no complaints at all with their performance and I prefer that to the likes of having the fingerprint scanner on the front here of the home button of my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge The Edge you have to actually tap first and then scan to wake up but with the show me the way they do it you don't actually have to wake up the device first it's just straight away boom and that is how I like it so very good there so a quick rundown here of the camera modes we have a 16 map rear facing camera that has a 4x3 ratio so various different options here you've got manual mode that lets you adjust a few things um but not really a lot all you have the iso exposure time Focus now ISO goes all the way up to 3,200 so very sensitive there and and other features as well you can find in the camera settings where you can change and adjust a few things there so you can turn on grid lines I find is Handy uh the frame size well being a sensor that is 4x3 changing that down to 16x9 is going to reduce the resolution and detail captured on your photos there you have anti- banding and quite a few things there one thing I found that is slightly annoying when it comes to the camera mode there just a few filters there if you go through to the camera mode by selecting video camera mode and then the settings it will always default to just using HD resolution now this is probably so you can get the slow motion slow motion records up to 200 120 frames per second at 720p got time lapse as well and you need to always go in and then change the video quality from 720p into 4K if you want to record 4K or full HD now I find this a little bit annoying but that is just how it is and I think that's the way me want it to be show me want it to be set up probably because they want that to be available to us the seting to capture that uh slowmo there so let's have a look at some samples they go through the gallery here so the front cam there's a selfie there it does a little bit of that beautifying you could of course disable that and here is a front facing camera sample and how well the camera adjust to sunlight and Shadow let dip into the Sunil but you can only record 720p Max I'm I'm sure the sensor will actually support 1080p but it won't let you do it slight artifacting to in the video now here are a few shots taken with the Flash and without it now you'll notice here in this shot that you get a orangey color coming from that duel tone Flash and that tends to happen a lot it's not like I've got my finger in the way or anything like that that just seems to be how it is when taking uh flash shots close up now here's a a quick 4K sample and some more photos just a macro shot here just to show you how well it captures macros you can see all the ants daylight photos tend to come out quite well you have a look here these shots here if you zoom right in there a lot of detail is captured there is some oversharpening going on so the only real downside to the camera is the low light performance as expected for a Chinese mobile it's not really that great but as long as you put if you put the flash on you can still get some indoor shots that come out that are usable and so what about audio quality now on the Mi Max here well I have made a few phone calls and yes using it as a phone works surprisingly well well actually no I'm not surprised me offers quite good quality when it comes to the voice calls uh reception on both ends I've had no problems no problems with the single reception up here where I live towards the mountain often get poor signal and at the moment here inside I'm got four bars everything's working really well now audio quality to out of the loudspeaker I'll just give you a quick demonstration here I will turn that loudspeaker right up let's move over into uh YouTube and check out some carbon based life forms now why I use these guys because they don't give me any copyright problems you see it's firing out of this one here so it's not the loudest of speakers that I've heard but it's reasonably loud and I still rated as a good loudspeaker I wouldn't say it's poor uh there's definitely a little bit of Bas in there some of mid-range it does sound good to me and this using YouTube there probably isn't the the best example when you're gaming and often things that support or have a higher base volume this gets really loud on there and I find it yeah you got to turn it down particularly loud too and the videos that you record on the phone it does sound quite loud and not a problem there really with it now 3.5 mm headphone quality coming out of this is loud it's clear it's good there's no annoying annoying static or everything like that um of course supports the remote and microphone here this is a a mi headset and fine sound quality is very good and I'm pleased with the audio quality in general very happy with it now how does handle gaming surprisingly well it works really good actually the andr 510 handles 108p gaming all the latest games without any problems super smooth super fluid frame rates I haven't experienced any problems or slow down or choppiness at all and I'll quickly show you a few games here zooming in and out moving around the map very fluid very smooth and this title is Mortal Kombat xer you have eyes but will not see I will see you die Eternity Warriors 4 sh and this one is real racing three as 8 airborne so after that little bit of gaming there how warm does it get well I felt around this are it does get quite warm the longer you play it's around 33° I've seen it get up to about 35 and that's not actually too bad I don't find that temperatures are going to actually be a problem on this we have a look at the front half now too similar temperatures all right maximum there 33° so when it starts to get up around 40 as when I feel it's getting a little too hot a little bit too toasty to the touch but saying that it gets warm but nothing alarming at all so thermals are good so there we have it I think this is a really good large screen mobile phone media consumption is what this mot mobile phone's all about watching your videos on this YouTube web browsing gaming it's just so immersive thanks to that really nice 1080p display that show me put on here the only real downsides to this of course as everyone's going to be runting on about is the size of it being so huge yes it's massive it's not going to fit in your pockets so if you want a phone that is going to fit in your pockets comfortably then this is not the phone for you you the other downsides of course is their 4K video quality is average at least it's putting out 30 frames per second now unlike the redm Note 3 Pro and it did have quite a bit of artifacts there the other thing is Mii is not for everyone a lot of people won't like the iso look about it and they won't like to see the occasional Chinese text but that is only because I have the original first ROM if you get the global ROM of this model then you probably won't have any of that Chinese popping up it shouldn't be there at all so all in all definitely gets my thumbs up the XI Mi Max love the battery life too thank you for watching this review hopefully see you back in the channel soon bye for nowhi guys Chris here and welcome to my review of the xiaomi Mi Max this is a very it does work 4G here well at Le where I am in Spain and I hope to later get better speeds but dependent on the network really and just to M information they're using CPU Z so you can see it is running the andrino 510 and finally the sensors on board I know a lot of people sometimes ask in the videos does the phone have a gyroscope well this one does it has a lot of sensors on board there you can see gyroscopes secondary sensors you name it it's got a lot there because I got my model straight from China before the global ROM has been released that's a ROM that will be in English and have Play Store on it I had to install Play Store manually now to do that you need to get the Google services installer and it will actually work it will throw a couple of errors and Play services and Play Store will actually auto update themselves and everything's been fine now I don't get any errors and I found the performance of Play Store is really good no problems with it and I can download everything I'm just going to get now playbooks here just to have a look at some eBooks and it performs quite fast as fast as I would expect from a flagship so I have just loaded up Dan Brown's Inferno here in Playbook and you can see that it looks really good looks fine on the screen sharpen enough the text can also use it in landscape mode here of course so what about about GPS performance well it you can see here it's picking up glown Ness uh the accuracy there in feet doesn't seem to get any better than 10 but I find the performance walking around in town testing it out seemed to be quite good I don't have any problems with it getting a fix on my location it is very quick so how long does it take to charge it zoi claims that you can fully charge the mobile phone in only 2 hours now I haven't been able to get there but apparently maybe the base model doesn't support Quick Charge 3 the chipset does okay the Snapdragon 650 this 652 does support Qualcomm quick charge 3 and I happen to have a Qualcomm quick charger three right here so I'm going to test that out and plug this in now if it goes over 5 Vols it's currently almost at 7 6.5 there it looks like it is at least supporting Quick Charge some form of Quick Charge either two or three spec and using the stock power supply here from them which is rated to 5 Vols and 2 amps I wasn't able to actually get what I would call Quick Charge times at least now charging my unit here took about just under 4 hours about 4 hours so definitely not the claim 2 hours so that's why I think that the base model here actually doesn't support at least quick charging three which is disappointing to see another reason probably why maybe you want to it might be better to actually go for the model the next models up that have the Snapdragon 652 and now with the stock show me charger plugged in you'll see it's outputting 2 amps 5.2 volts there so definitely not what I would call Quick charging and as mentioned it took about 4 hours using this charger that's that's an approximate okay I didn't have time to fully gauge that but it does take a while to charge so I finished running the p Mark battery test and it's just finished up now you see it finishes at 20% battery life so we've still got another 20% left 13 hours and 10 minutes it's worked out that you'll be able to get from the mmax here and you'll see the finer details there for those interested in the score quite an impressive result but you do have to remember that this does have only a 1080p screen and it has that 4,850 mAh battery so let's have a look and see now in the settings we have a look at the battery use so obviously p m took up most of that and here's the history details you can see that I did have a good reasonbly good uh mobile signal there it's not quite in the full green there but while this was on awake display on the whole time and I'll will just have a look now at the hardware so screen screen on time is 11 hours and 15 minutes now remember that the brightness I do have set is reasonably bright for the the calibration of the PC Mark test if you were to tone down that brightness I've still got 20% battery life remember left I'm pretty sure you could get maybe a continuous screen on time of about 14 hours which is quite amazing really quite a good time there and this is definitely the highest scores I have seen on the Chinese mobiles that I review a quick closeup now of the SIM card reader so you can either put a Micro SD card in the first slot or a nano SIM and then a micro SIM so you have two SIM support but you will lose the micro SD card now another thing to note with the micro SD cards is you can actually run it just like expanded storage or you can run it like the internal storage of the phone which is quite handy and that will actually allow you to run everything off that micro SD card so you must use a high performance card in there otherwise you will probably experience some slowdown and issues recording in 4k if your micro SD card isn't up to speed to run as the internal storage of the phone now the mmax supports fingerprint security so you have a fingerprint scanner on the rear of it and it's the same exact Hardware as used in the redmi Note 3 and the Note 3 Pro and I find it actually works flawlessly every time it works for me when I use it and you only need to scan your finger five times when sting it up and it literally works for me nine out of 10 times or in fact probably 10 out of 10 times so no complaints at all with their performance and I prefer that to the likes of having the fingerprint scanner on the front here of the home button of my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge The Edge you have to actually tap first and then scan to wake up but with the show me the way they do it you don't actually have to wake up the device first it's just straight away boom and that is how I like it so very good there so a quick rundown here of the camera modes we have a 16 map rear facing camera that has a 4x3 ratio so various different options here you've got manual mode that lets you adjust a few things um but not really a lot all you have the iso exposure time Focus now ISO goes all the way up to 3,200 so very sensitive there and and other features as well you can find in the camera settings where you can change and adjust a few things there so you can turn on grid lines I find is Handy uh the frame size well being a sensor that is 4x3 changing that down to 16x9 is going to reduce the resolution and detail captured on your photos there you have anti- banding and quite a few things there one thing I found that is slightly annoying when it comes to the camera mode there just a few filters there if you go through to the camera mode by selecting video camera mode and then the settings it will always default to just using HD resolution now this is probably so you can get the slow motion slow motion records up to 200 120 frames per second at 720p got time lapse as well and you need to always go in and then change the video quality from 720p into 4K if you want to record 4K or full HD now I find this a little bit annoying but that is just how it is and I think that's the way me want it to be show me want it to be set up probably because they want that to be available to us the seting to capture that uh slowmo there so let's have a look at some samples they go through the gallery here so the front cam there's a selfie there it does a little bit of that beautifying you could of course disable that and here is a front facing camera sample and how well the camera adjust to sunlight and Shadow let dip into the Sunil but you can only record 720p Max I'm I'm sure the sensor will actually support 1080p but it won't let you do it slight artifacting to in the video now here are a few shots taken with the Flash and without it now you'll notice here in this shot that you get a orangey color coming from that duel tone Flash and that tends to happen a lot it's not like I've got my finger in the way or anything like that that just seems to be how it is when taking uh flash shots close up now here's a a quick 4K sample and some more photos just a macro shot here just to show you how well it captures macros you can see all the ants daylight photos tend to come out quite well you have a look here these shots here if you zoom right in there a lot of detail is captured there is some oversharpening going on so the only real downside to the camera is the low light performance as expected for a Chinese mobile it's not really that great but as long as you put if you put the flash on you can still get some indoor shots that come out that are usable and so what about audio quality now on the Mi Max here well I have made a few phone calls and yes using it as a phone works surprisingly well well actually no I'm not surprised me offers quite good quality when it comes to the voice calls uh reception on both ends I've had no problems no problems with the single reception up here where I live towards the mountain often get poor signal and at the moment here inside I'm got four bars everything's working really well now audio quality to out of the loudspeaker I'll just give you a quick demonstration here I will turn that loudspeaker right up let's move over into uh YouTube and check out some carbon based life forms now why I use these guys because they don't give me any copyright problems you see it's firing out of this one here so it's not the loudest of speakers that I've heard but it's reasonably loud and I still rated as a good loudspeaker I wouldn't say it's poor uh there's definitely a little bit of Bas in there some of mid-range it does sound good to me and this using YouTube there probably isn't the the best example when you're gaming and often things that support or have a higher base volume this gets really loud on there and I find it yeah you got to turn it down particularly loud too and the videos that you record on the phone it does sound quite loud and not a problem there really with it now 3.5 mm headphone quality coming out of this is loud it's clear it's good there's no annoying annoying static or everything like that um of course supports the remote and microphone here this is a a mi headset and fine sound quality is very good and I'm pleased with the audio quality in general very happy with it now how does handle gaming surprisingly well it works really good actually the andr 510 handles 108p gaming all the latest games without any problems super smooth super fluid frame rates I haven't experienced any problems or slow down or choppiness at all and I'll quickly show you a few games here zooming in and out moving around the map very fluid very smooth and this title is Mortal Kombat xer you have eyes but will not see I will see you die Eternity Warriors 4 sh and this one is real racing three as 8 airborne so after that little bit of gaming there how warm does it get well I felt around this are it does get quite warm the longer you play it's around 33° I've seen it get up to about 35 and that's not actually too bad I don't find that temperatures are going to actually be a problem on this we have a look at the front half now too similar temperatures all right maximum there 33° so when it starts to get up around 40 as when I feel it's getting a little too hot a little bit too toasty to the touch but saying that it gets warm but nothing alarming at all so thermals are good so there we have it I think this is a really good large screen mobile phone media consumption is what this mot mobile phone's all about watching your videos on this YouTube web browsing gaming it's just so immersive thanks to that really nice 1080p display that show me put on here the only real downsides to this of course as everyone's going to be runting on about is the size of it being so huge yes it's massive it's not going to fit in your pockets so if you want a phone that is going to fit in your pockets comfortably then this is not the phone for you you the other downsides of course is their 4K video quality is average at least it's putting out 30 frames per second now unlike the redm Note 3 Pro and it did have quite a bit of artifacts there the other thing is Mii is not for everyone a lot of people won't like the iso look about it and they won't like to see the occasional Chinese text but that is only because I have the original first ROM if you get the global ROM of this model then you probably won't have any of that Chinese popping up it shouldn't be there at all so all in all definitely gets my thumbs up the XI Mi Max love the battery life too thank you for watching this review hopefully see you back in the channel soon bye for now\n"
