Nissan GT-R Nismo vs Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - Drag race

Welcome to Silverstone: A High-Octane Drag Race Showdown

As we enter the world of high-performance cars, there's no shortage of excitement and competition. Today, we find ourselves at Silverstone, where two drag race enthusiasts are about to put their skills to the test in a battle for supremacy. On one side, we have Rob, who will be driving a Juke R 2.0, essentially a GTR in disguise, with a powerful engine and drivetrain that's sure to push the limits of this compact car. On the other side, we have Yan, a former GT Academy winner and LMP2 racer, who will be behind the wheel of a GTR Nismo, boasting an impressive 600 horsepower.

As we begin, it becomes clear that both drivers are taking their roles seriously, each aware of the competitive nature of this event. Rob notes that the GTR Nismo is not to be underestimated, having won their previous encounter by a significant margin. Undaunted, Rob expresses confidence in his Juke R 2.0's ability to keep pace with its more powerful counterpart.

As we prepare for the start, it becomes apparent that both drivers are taking precautions to ensure their safety and success. A full tank of fuel is present on both vehicles, while Rob mentions being "quite skinny," a humorous way of acknowledging the physical demands of this high-performance driving challenge. As the green flag drops, both cars take off with a burst of speed, leaving a trail of excitement in their wake.

Rob recounts the initial start, noting that Yan seemed to have gained an advantage, but his own car proved quicker than expected. As they hit the first gear, Rob's Juke R 2.0 surged forward, putting him ahead by half a car. This early lead proved short-lived, however, as Yan managed to recover and close the gap.

As we continue through the course, it becomes clear that both drivers are employing various strategies to gain an edge over their opponents. Rob mentions softening his suspension in an attempt to improve traction, while Yan is relying on the exceptional handling of his GTR Nismo. Despite these efforts, however, the outcome remains far from certain, as both cars continue to push each other to new heights.

In a stunning reversal, Rob's Juke R 2.0 comes out on top in the first round, edging out Yan by a narrow margin. The crowd is left in awe, wondering what might have been if only Yan had managed to maintain his lead. As we move on to the final round, it becomes clear that this was not a fluke victory for Rob.

With renewed determination, Yan takes on the challenge once more, but even he cannot overcome the superior traction and agility of Rob's Juke R 2.0. The GTR Nismo, despite its impressive power output, is unable to withstand the initial burst of speed from Rob's car. As they reach the end of the course, it becomes clear that this time, there will be no coming back.

In a surprising twist, it is revealed that Yan's engine response was sharper in certain parts of his car, allowing him to close the gap significantly in the final run. This reveals an interesting aspect of the competition, where both drivers are employing different strategies to gain an edge over their opponents. Despite this, however, Rob's Juke R 2.0 has emerged victorious in the end, leaving Yan with a respectable showing.

As we reflect on this high-stakes drag race showdown, it becomes clear that there was more at play here than just raw power and speed. The mental game, the strategy, and the physical demands of these drivers all came into play as they battled for supremacy. Will we see these two drivers clash again in the future? Only time will tell.

The results of this epic battle are clear: 2-1 to Rob's Juke R 2.0, but it was a closely contested competition that left both drivers with a lot to be proud of.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello welcome to Silverstone this is quite organized isn't it this is one of our drag races that we do you might remember a couple of weeks ago we did one between a jaguar all wheel drive ftype and this and GTR and the GTR 1 we thought well we should come back when we might have something that will beat a GTR so we've come back there's another GTR here although it is a GTR Nismo so it's got 600 horsepower but to try and beat it I've got a Juke R 2.0 um which is basically another GTR basically it's it's got a GTR engine GTR drivetrain in a Juke style Body driving the GTR Nismo is former GT Academy winner lmp2 racer gp3 driver Podium finisher at Leon Yan mbra loveliest man in motor racing and driving the DU car will be me now we've both got ballast of a passenger and because they're a little bit worried about the transmission of this 600 car we're doing a sort of rolling start um but anyway I'll get lided up and we will see which one is faster biscuit Bo how does that work buttery biscuit biscuits aren't buttery they but crunchy mind you could have short bread that's quite butter isn't it depends where you get from Tesco do good fish short bread they do a little bit of castor sugar on it maybe you ready ready put window up window's going up over there it's getting serious right off okay start rolling in three 2 1 creep not much creep of normal car 3 2 one go get oh on come on you can feel our our re will is to spend you no ared how is that has he got a full tank of fuel like me or is he not or you're just really fat I'm definitely quite skinny but but off the line I had him and then I was thought he was fine and then I looked I was looked he's coming back I'm like what who shoo shoo wow that's much quicker than I much closer than I thought it would be that was Bloody closer than I thought we were I mean all right Tad Tad quicker on the start on go got a slight jump we pulled away I reckon half a car yeah and then I I reckon it's just as the arrow kicks in just start come back cuz it's not I don't think it's a power thing and then yeah what' you reckon he was half a car at the end yeah probably what brisc face Maybe shout loud enough that could here buttery biscuit base I likey biscuit B like you're not taking this seriously you ready ready thumbs up here JY ready JY ready Rob to Charlie 30 seconds 30 seconds camera's on window up then we'll leave the suspension stand I don't know being softer it might give it a little bit more bit more traction don't do anything to of ready start to creep in 3 2 1 second run then and I'm one n down already but I'm not going to let mtin br's Mind Games bet the better of me three 2 one go the DU car is off to a better start again it really does have exceptional traction and this time it PS it all the way to the end stick that in your buttery biscuit base this isn't good we need a rematch so that's one all I'm fully flat as well youan you might have the jump but like I'm expecting once it gets going it really does start reeling in but it's just it's I think it's cuz it's short wheelbase it is just better initially off the off the line one more run deider well we've got this we're just making it a competition yeah making it interesting for people yeah we were we were rolling a tad quicker and when you went go yeah definitely we were way ahead on reaction so we got half a car straight away but we were pulling away a little bit until probably what fifth gear and then easy to really come back at that point what did you reach speed wise did you I didn't look freaking hell I'll look this time if you want Yan can you hear me is it the throttle or do you really need to practice more bat it's the throttle it's the throttle it's a throttle of course it is did C C again making it exciting cuz we only I mean we're talking fractions anyway it's like that yeah and it does lag as well so you like put it and nothing happens and he's gone so you sort of lose yeah but as soon as it says go I'm No Mercy yeah camera's rolling okay we'll start to creep forward in 3 2 1 creep run three then and let's see if we can finally put the GT to bed 3 2 1 go Ro a SL you got to start and I'm maintain it this is unusual I know com see you later rack on W yeah he did cat up an issue though it is impressive like just gets going better initially a run three marer gets the better start and even the Juke Superior Traction can't overcome the GTR Nismo by the end it pulls out narrow Victory showing that even a lightly modified GTR can't beat a GTR but we won smashed do that now so there you go 2-1 to the GTR Nismo in the end but I'll tell you what is interesting I think the engine response on the jukar is sharper because it gets away even when Yan gets a bit of a jump on me didn't jump the start but he just got a jump on me on the final run that comes back at low speed very quickly and only above sort of fourth gear when the aerodynamics of that better aics CD is 0.37 I think and that's 0.44 that that really pulls away it's close but GTR wins again y that was so hard that was really unpredictable\n"
