2024 Hyundai Santa Fe makes mid size SUVs look cool

Hyundai's Redesigned 2024 Santa Fe: A Mid-Size Machine Ready to Turn Heads

Hyundai has given us more information on its updated model, and it sounds like this mid-size machine is ready to turn quite a few heads when it hits the streets. The changes here are minimal in terms of powertrains, but the base engine has been kicked to the curb at least here in North America.

The 2.5-liter four-cylinder that made less than 200 horsepower has been replaced, and now you have a choice between two engines: the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, or the 1.6-liter turbo 4 hybrid setup previously. The hybrid was good for 226 horsepower paired with a six-speed automatic and comes standard with all-wheel drive. In contrast, the non-hybrid version uses an 8-speed dual clutch gearbox and can be had with front or all-wheel drive.

The truly intriguing update here is of course the style changes. The 2024 Santa Fe sits longer than the outgoing model and also has a longer wheelbase too. This means a great stance but also increased space for people and stuff. This three-row machine is a highlight reel of Hyundai's H branded styling, which can be seen in the lighting elements most notably. It's also there in the lower portion of the Grille. I'm sure we will find more hidden age elements as time goes on regardless.

It looks cool and serves as a standout styling element for the Santa Fe. The wheels look great, with a blacked out upper third that makes for a cool striation in the profile. The mix of boxy and subtly curvy works really well, that mixture continues into the cabin space which has lots of straight lines but also features a few subtle curves as well. The dash runs straight across and serves up a pair of 12.3 inch display screens that blend into one larger panel on the left is all of the info you need in the gauge cluster while the right handle is infotainment Duty.

Hyundai has made great use of the center console space too, it looks downright luxurious in its construction while allowing for some open air storage in the lower section and delivering a pair of wireless charging pads above that space. There's actually another screen as well, it's the 6.6 inch touchscreen which should offer up some quick access to HVAC or audio controls. Thankfully however, you still have some physical knobs and buttons in place too.

There's talk of further evolving the Santa Fe down the road as well, Hyundai is shown off an xrt concept version which gains loads of Overland or overland-esque features. This includes all terrain tires, a revised front rear fascia for better approach and departure angles, exterior mounting spot for a GoPro, a crazy looking roof rack with what appears to be an integrated light bar, a ladder on the back, and they even tossed on a set of limb risers cargo boxes and more.

It's very much the hey what an Instagram influencers put on their Rigs and the answer was just yes, it's only missing the tent or is it I don't hate it though but still you're not going too far down the trail without a transfer case or locking diffs. But that's a story for another video.

Back to the regular Santa Fe, Hyundai has yet to release any pricing information. However, based on the trim swing that starts at or just below 40K and probably runs up to or just over 50K, it seems like this sweet looking SUV will start landing on dealer lots sometime in the first half of 2024.
