Unboxing the Third Generation iPod Nano
Hello YouTube, it's Detroit Borg again with another unboxing of an Apple product. This time, we're going to take a trip down memory lane and unbox a third generation iPod Nano that came out in 2007, but has been sitting around for years. I bought this little guy from Amazon.com on their marketplace, and as you can see, it's brand new.
As I pull off the tab to open it up, I'm greeted by the sleek aluminum front panel and stainless steel back panel. The design of this iPod Nano is quite different from its predecessors, especially the ones that came before the Nano, which had a similar candy bar design. Instead, this one resembles a shrunken down iPod Classic. I have to say, it's quite slim and feels nice in my hands.
The fourth generation Nano was available in an 8-gig model as well, but I got the four-gig model for this unboxing. Let's see if there's any charge on it. Nope, it's not charged yet. Now that we have our new iPod Nano, let's take a look at what's inside the box. We have a dock adapter, earphones, a USB connector, and some literature about the iPod Nano. The earphones are actually an older style, but I like them better than the ones they're selling now.
As I continue to unbox this little guy, I want to show you what's in the box and how it all fits together. On the bottom of the iPod, we have the hold switch, dock connector, and headphone jack. You can see that the aluminum from the front panel wraps around the edge to enclose these ports. One thing that stands out about this design is how simple and clean it is. There's nothing on top or side, just a sleek, minimalist design.
As we take a closer look at the iPod Nano, you'll notice that it has a glass screen, which is quite unusual for an iPod at this time. This design makes it feel more premium and modern. Now that we've unboxed our little guy, let's get it connected to my iMac using a Universal dock. I have to say, I'm impressed with how slim it is compared to the newer generations of iPod Nanos.
As I connect the iPod to my iMac, I notice that it uses an older style dock connector, which is slightly larger than the one they're using now. But, as I mentioned earlier, I think this style is better. Now that we've got our iPod connected, let's take a look at how it works. When you first turn on your iPod, you'll see the registration screen in iTunes. This is where you can set up your new iPod and start transferring music and other content from your computer.
In conclusion, this third generation iPod Nano is an interesting piece of Apple history. Its design may seem outdated compared to newer generations, but it still feels nice in my hands and has a certain charm to it. Thanks for watching, and don't forget to rate and subscribe if you liked this unboxing!
