**Apple iPhone 16 Pro Review: A Game-Changer for Content Creators**

As a content creator who shoots a lot of photos and video, I was excited to get my hands on the new Apple iPhone 16 Pro. After spending some time with this device, I'm thrilled to share my first impressions.

First off, let's talk about the camera updates. The iPhone 16 Pro still features a 48-megapixel main camera, which in my brief testing looks pretty similar to last year's model. However, the biggest change comes with the tuning options you can do to your image before and after taking your shot. This is where things get really interesting.

The 16 Pro does a lot of computational processing to make your photos look good, but normally, that comes at the cost of a baked-in look that's made at the mercy of the company manufacturing the device. Apple has gotten some flak for this over the past few generations due to their aggressive HDR tone processing, which can sometimes pull down highlights and lift shadows to an extreme degree.

However, with the iPhone 16 Pro, Apple is giving users more flexibility right in the camera app to dial in the look they want. This includes a handful of preset photographic styles that you can set your base look, which isn't entirely new to the iOS camera app but what is is a new set of controls called "Mood" that lets you fine-tune the look to your liking.

The Mood control is basically a d-pad and a slider that allows you to adjust the look to your liking. It's similar to how some cameras, like the cult favorite Fuji X100, let you bake in filmic looks. While it may feel like a watered-down version of how that product lets you achieve those effects, I'm excited to see where this feature takes us.

Another feature that caught my attention is the new 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The shots I've taken with it so far look absolutely amazing, especially in macro photography. But what really excites me about this lens is its use for video. Specifically, I love using it for vlogging because when the screen is facing away from you, it's very forgiving in terms of framing.

Speaking of video, the iPhone 16 Pro now includes the ability to shoot 4K at 120 frames per second slow-motion. This is a game-changer for content creators like myself who often find ourselves needing to film quickly and capture smooth footage without the aid of a tripod or gimbal. Not only does this make filming more convenient, but it also looks great.

Finally, I want to mention the new camera control button that Apple has slapped onto the side of both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. This hardware/software key gives you easy access to the camera app as well as your camera controls. While it may be a bit late to the game for Apple's part in introducing this feature, I'm excited to see how convenience features like this will become a staple of future iOS updates.

Overall, while the iPhone 16 Pro might not be the most exciting iPhone upgrade in the world, it's definitely a solid package for content creators like myself. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is the iPhone 16 Pro Max and for this year not only am I curious about what's actually changed compared to my 15 Pro Max and generations prior but also there are some key issues that I had last year that I hope that this phone actually addresses let's Jump Right In opening up the box here yeah First Impressions on the actual design it is obviously an iPhone so no wild departures here from the usual especially compared to the where did I put it to the 15 Pro Max the sides are wrapped in that very solid titanium which over the course of a year when looking at my 15 Pro Max has honestly held up fairly well considering that I actually dropped this a few times even on concrete so my assumption is that it'll probably work out well on the 16 Pro as well obviously I picked a different color this year going with black titanium instead of of the natural since I wanted to go for something different and I love how clean this looks but otherwise all of the colors look basically the same as last year with of course the exception of the hero color which is Desert titanium it did look good in person when I saw it at the Apple Store though I didn't grab any footage of it but I do wish that they turned up the saturation on it quite a bit to add an extra pop of color especially on the back glass but yeah there was something about this murdered out look on the black that makes me think it looks especially sharp obviously I have to fully set up in the phone but I just want to turn this guy on oo hello yeah man this screen is a beauty especially with the thin bezel but let me get this properly set up and I'll get back to you with some more Impressions many hours later all right so I've had a couple of hours to play around with the iPhone 16 Pro Max and something I will say is that even though I'm already used to how large these Pro Max devices are this guy is even bigger than the last one we're talking a 6.9 in display nice plus I think the screen to body ratio is also slightly higher but the actual dimensions of this phone are slightly bigger too if I push these two together you can see that the 16 Pro Max is ever so slightly taller coming from a 15 Pro Max it's hardly a difference that I can feel in the hands but if you are looking to upgrade to this year's phone from a smaller device definitely check it out in person to see if it's right for you not going to lie I was actually kind of tempted to go with the normal iPhone 16 pro this year since it's virtually identical inspect to the pro Max with the exception of course of the size and Battery this wasn't the case especially last year where Apple put more zoom on the telephoto camera in the Pro Max but generally speaking I just like having the bigger phone because again it does have that larger physical battery having that extra bit of charge means that I can work uninterrupted for longer which at least for me is worth the tradeoff of having some extra heft speaking of using these phones for work over the past year I've been filming so much stuff on my iPhone 15 Pro Max thanks to its ability to shoot prores video and Apple log as I'll talk about a little later on in this video the 16 Pro appears to have some quality of life improvements that could make this already great Video Production Tool even better for this upcoming year but first I want to touch a little on performance you see coming from the 15 Pro Max probably at the top of my list of things that I'm hoping improves with the 16 pro has to be better sustained performance especially when playing games or doing things like post- production work for Stills and video Apple silicon has always been about balancing both performance and efficiency and with this new a18 Pro chip is looking to be yet another Powerhouse at least according to early benchmarks but a key area that's always been a bit of a struggle for the iPhone has been thermals today in 2024 much of the competition in the Android space have made strides in cooling their Hardware most recently I took a look at the Galaxy Z flip 6 a phone with more physical constraints including the fact that it actually folds in half and is thinner than the iPhone but even still that device has Vapor chamber cooling to manage temps on its Flagship s so the snap dragon 8 gen 3 and the results were surprisingly good maxing out a game like zenis Zone zero at 60 FPS without any hiccups or overheating Now by comparison you are not going to find a vapor chamber cooler on the 16 pro and pro Max which I think is a shame instead Apple's hoping that a new graphite aluminum substructure along with changes to the rear glass will help diffuse heat better than in previous generations at least from what I can tell with my early Impressions the 16 Pro Max might run a little cooler than last year's phone but I will have to run it through my normal routine over the next few weeks to see how much of a difference this updated system actually makes even though I tell most people that you don't have to buy the new iPhone every year I have my own reasons for doing the upgrade myself obviously I do it as a tech Creator subscribe if you want to get notified about new videos but two the pro model iPhones especially after the 15 Pro actually do pro things that add value to my workflow in particular I'm excited this year for the camera updates we still have a 48 megap main camera which in my brief testing looks pretty similar to last year but the biggest change comes with the tuning you can do to your image like what you'd get out of a galaxy or pixel phone is neat whichever one's your style you can do it beyond the new processing features I love that the iPhone 16 Pro now includes a 48 megapix Ultra wide the few shots that I've taken on it so far look absolutely amazing everything is sharp especially macro photography but where I really love this lens is using it for video especially for vlogging obviously when it comes to getting the best video quality you're going to want to film with the lenses on the back of the phone but why I like the point five especially is because when the screen is facing away from you it's very forgiving in terms of framing with its wide field of view now on last year's 15 Pro the 0.5 lens was pretty decent quality quality with its 12 megap sensor but oh man the 48 mapel on the 16 Pro looks so good now speaking of video another cool feature with this iPhone 16 Pro is that now with the main camera you are able to shoot 4K 120 frames per second slowmo this to Rapid Fire filming b-roll shots that look super smooth without the aid of a tripod or gimbal not only does the footage look sharp and clean just by using the standard camera app but actually do
