Putting a Twin Disc Clutch in the Hatch

The First Time Out: A Journey with Wago and Its New Wing

Just pulled Wago out for the first time with the wing on there looking good, we're about to go pick up the clutch for the hatch and we're going to take waggo down the highway and see if the wing holds up or falls off. So hopefully it doesn't go anywhere. Just got back in waggo uh we went about 90 M hour on the highway for a while and Wing didn't fall off so Grilla glue seems to be holding.

We also got special delivery for the hatch look what we got here competition there's that and got out bearing alignment tool flywheel bolts and here we got the twin disc. It's kind of in there so I'm not going to be able to get that out with one hand oh maybe sick got the clutch all unwrapped comes with the new flywheel as well this one actually the ring gear is part of the flywheel so now won't have a problem about that coming off again.

The whole reason I had to take the car apart in the first place which is kind of good though cuz if I never pulled that apart I wouldn't have realized how roasted my other clutch was and that the flywheel had like little hairline cracks in it. So I guess those was a good thing that ring gear came off cuz need a new clutch anyways before we start getting the clutch put in.

I'm going to take the transmission outside real quick and spray it off with some brake cleaner and power wash it off cuz it's really dirty Honda power hell yeah that's why everything runs good around here. Just kidding piece of it's got a leak in the h all right so I got the transmission clean enough and right now I'm going to go ahead and take all these Allens off get it all apart to get the flywheel bolted onto the car and then I just got to put all this back together once it's on the car.

All right so we got all that off this is just the flywheel right here. I'm going to take some brake cleaner and spray it along right here cuz these come with a thin film to protect it and you want to make sure you get that off before you reinstall all the pads and whatever got to line up the PIN and all these bolts.

We're going to use some red Loctite make sure they don't go anywhere we got them all snug we're going to go ahead and torque them in a star pattern and we're going to start with 50lb and then go to 85. Okay so I got everything else hung up there these bolts all the way around are loose right now and they're loose right now so I can get this alignment tool in there.

And on this twin dis you got to make sure it goes all the way through both right there you can see when I spin this it's spinning both of those so it's all the way through. And then now I can go ahead and torque these down also in a star pattern with the alignment tool in there. And then these torque it 18 lb you want to make sure you put a little bit of Loctite on these as well getting it here.

I'll hold this side up this is what I did with Charlie say it's just give oh you just keeping the nuts K did I yeah I got train on my chest keeping in nuts can you get it yeah give me a second. I got breathe oh I'm lay in training food again oh all right we got the transmission on there. I jacked it up jacked the whole motor up so it was level.

Got this Bolt in on this side and I'm going to stop on it for tonight cuz it's getting late. So tomorrow right when I get out of class I'm going to come home and work on getting it done tomorrow and hopefully getting it driving around and start breaking in the clutch and whatever but it's almost there motor officially all back into place.

So just got to start plugging some things in and get the back motor mount hooked up and it should be good to go. Yep see you tomorrow
