The Experience of Streaming with Friends: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at "Burial Grounds"

Now that we have so much time because Paul's not here and we have ended the show early, uh Steve and I are going to grab some wings from this amazing pizza place down the Street. There's this awesome hilarious guy old guy that works there; I just want to hug him. He's awesome. Um, we're going to get some wings and we might bring them back here or we might just have them delivered and we might start gaming a bit earlier than we usually do. An extra gaming system for me because I didn't bring one. I'd love to dabble in GTA V on it. Which I haven't played in a while, so I'm down.

I also want to invite you guys to join us. We will be streaming our channel on Twitch, and it's at twitch.tv/awom SAU Network. It's every Wednesday at 7 pm PDT. We actually have a little show called "Master in Minutes," and basically what we do is similar to your gaming segment that we did together, "Face Off." We get a game you haven't really played before that idea transcends to I learn the game and then I teach it to my co-host; she learns a totally different game, we both never played. And we break it down to about 15 minutes per game, depending on the type of game.

We've been giving ourselves a little extra time lately because the games have been more complex. Um, it was fun. Did you catch the last one? I didn't catch the last one that's okay. We did "City Builders" oh nice. Uh yeah and so the idea was really straightforward; we took a game that we never played before that was a city-building game, and we tried to figure it out without using the tutorials like we can't look anything up watch anybody else play it like it's supposed to be just us sitting down and play it for the first time. Usually, it turns into some terrible stream because we haven't actually tested it to make sure it's going to work with our systems.

We've changed that now; we're actually fully testing it before go live, so we've at least we know the menu will show up. Reviews by Gary gives his full support for it; he says the show is pretty awesome and Deb cracks him up. Cheers that I really appreciate that. Um Pope 89 says "Burial Grounds" pretty much loses every time, and he's actually the few times I've seen the show you have lost. Deb's a good gamer; she's really smart too. She's a programmer as well on top of everything else, and works in the tech industry.

hour of you doing this yeah Kyle and totally you have to like find the timing what are you saying Kyle and like or or it would be a great like a test of my improv like I would just record myself for an hour just drinking and just like blurting out random things and then when I'm when the real me is actually doing the show I have to like improvise and react to the fake me the fake drunk me and how I would actually react in that situation I think that's that's like a good social experiment yes I would love that okay but I'm fortunately glad that you are a real person today and that you're sober uh it's going to be much easier for us on the show for everyone in the chat as well uh so if you guys were wondering about how the format's going to go down today because Paul's gone um we're actually only only doing my half uh actually my half is the whole today yes um I'm not going to have special guests on and then be like by the way you have to spend a few hours planning for the show uh so instead it's going to be like an hour to an hour 15 minute show instead of the typical two to three hour run that Paul usually I go through a little bit low yeah might be a little bit low okay let me uh is are they saying both of us are low just says low all right let me crank it up for you guys really quick all right we're at 100% on OBS and I might even crank this up just a tad rage they're they're going to get quality options soon at some point not right now because they're not partnered yet right but at some point but you have you have some close ties with twitch so I'm probably going to hit you up for for some of that yeah I mean really need to get partnered I know been on it but you know with the trip and everything he's been a little preoccupied yeah so you in the middle of explaining the format I think uh you said a little bit about kind of what we have to to show everybody on the show today kind of maybe the highlights I'm not sure what you you were about to say yes absolutely thank you for reminding me uh so on today's show we've got some interesting things uh leaked GPU images for days pretty much on both team red and Team Green which we're going to take a look at do some analysis and things like that cuz uh leaked photos are always fun even if they might just be rumors uh we always kind of have that that hope that it's somewhere out there they're they're real yeah we can we can fantasize about them in our own creepy way uh and also a new horror game where you can't see is getting is getting uh major visibility lately V okay I see what you did there she visibility like it's getting attention but it's also like a double anyway you caught me in the middle of typing yes uh we've got some other interesting things going on today we're going to be doing a face off between me and Steve finally a new opponent a new worthy opponent because you know Paul was just on a big losing streak there he got lucky a couple times by cheating and then uh you know fate kind of called him out like no I'm champing for Paul so if I win today Paul wins today that is true on his behalf and if you do win it will only be because you cheated so uh now that we got that all cleared up um before I we just Dive Right into stories and stuff I know you have a lot of followers on Twitter and your own social accounts and stuff like that so a lot of people in chat know who you are but for those of you who don't um could you briefly just explain to them who you are what you do sure and and and yeah why why you're here so I was born in Southern California as a you don't have to go that far back my bad let's let's let's do like last let's let's do last month to two months okay so wrap that up in a nutshell so bottom line is is you guys know me from New Egg uh most likely and I uh I am no longer working at New Egg and there's obviously a lot of awesome people that are still working at New Egg um I still shop at New Egg but all told I I've moved on I've I've gotten something now at model price I'm extremely excited about it I'm there sort of um Community manager for lack of a better title because my title actually sounds weird it's Community marketing specialist um you typically tack on specialist whenever you're just not quite sure what that person is going to specifically do and there's nobody underneath me so I don't get a manager title yet uh but bottom line is it's it's I'm going to be in contact with you guys a lot of the time I see so uh it almost kind of sounds like you you uh you have a lot in common with like fractal Josh who's in chat right now like he he's he's like very big on community Outreach so you're basically just another Josh I am and I should actually and that's a terrifying proposition cuz one Josh is enough for all peeking out all right so congratulations on your new buy thank you uh be safe on the road wear your gear uh but let's talk about some news so first off let's talk about these leaked Hardware images of some video cards starting off with the gtx980ti I'm going to switch over here to our story because this is what I do now that Paul's gone I'm actually in charge of this now you should all be very scared and concerned um thank you uh so yeah there are some first photos leaked of this video card here's a look at it from our good friends at videoc cards.com of course sorry there's cars driving by the window that was noisy uh but yeah this is featuring The same shroud as the Titan X as you can see from the picture um except it's not the same color so looking at a different color uh and it's got the same power connectors as well as the Titan X that's one six pin and one eight pin connector um so very a lot of similarities here uh also the the video outputs are the same with dual link DV HDMI and you get three fullsize display ports as well uh there's no no no back plate I can scroll down here you can take a look at the PCB uh it is black kind of got that black glossy finish um and uh yeah I feel like I feel like these cards these high-end cards from Nvidia should really have um back plates yeah I agree or or or like or like maybe the option to get a customized one with like your gamertag on that could be it they might just be selling it uh separately yeah but uh six gabt of memory uh instead of the 12 and uh what is it two yeah 2,816 Cuda cor versus 3072 yep so there's there a nice chart that video cards.com put together uh between the Titan X 980ti and the 980 you can see pretty much across the board Titan X shares the same specs with the 980ti except just like Steve said uh there's half the the frame buffer so you're actually getting six only six gigs um which is stilling amount that's important yes exactly same memory bus uh same so same memory bandwidth and all that uh you are getting the same clock speed there were some rumors there in the early coming months that uh or the earlier months that that clock speed was either going to be faster some people were saying it was going to be slower um it's exactly the same uh and and this is all just according to speculation this is an official word from Nvidia this is all hearsay but um you know Jensen didn't call you no he didn't well actually he did but I I was on the phone with the president oh man you got to take the president had to reject you know what I mean he's Obama's getting me like 2 980 TI soy should be giving you like g6s and like air like not Air Force One cuz he has to be on that but like he just be sending you military crap he offered me the G6 and I took the 980ti instead such a nice guy yeah uh but there you guys have it um I think this is pretty sound like this makes sense to me that Nvidia is not going to have a brand new reference cooler for the 98 TI um perhaps we'll see a new cooler new reference cooler for the Next Generation um but uh yeah you guys let me know what you think in the chat do you think this is true or false I I think what's more interesting is the actual next leak um which is the the Radeon oh before you skip on that I actually think this is perfect I think that I think that they need the the 980 TI to exist to to be a go between between the Titan X and the 980 uh it fits a good point and it's not going to be faster than it makes way more sense the way they did it I mean when the Titan came out and it was just a monster in terms of gaming performance you knew it was going to be different than the prior versions of the Titans and that also eluded to the 980 TI being different exactly um and and also there's it's rumored that the 98 TI is going to launch a bit sooner than originally anticipated just to coincide with computex actually it could launch as early as next week you know in just a few days um and that's basically because AMD has their whole 300 series uh you know that's the unofficial name of what what we're calling it for reference um but I think just to take the wind out of AMD sales a bit I think Nvidia is trying to push their 980ti uh to compete with it right the b in Taiwan so Paul let us know you're there or you will be there in a few days yes grab me 98 TI if you're there if you can uh so here are some more leaked images uh this time of the potential Flagship card from AMD and I think this one looks a lot more interesting CU it's a design we haven't seen before yeah um and it's really cool looking uh it's got kind of like this nice um textured back plate or I wouldn't say it's a textured but it's it looks like rubbery in a way over this chrome finish uh it just looks really nice but even more interesting is the stock photo and these were released by chip chip.com also known for their uh rumor rumor stuff and I know you said back play but I knew what you meant it was the face oh yeah the face sorry the face it looks like it's it's more of a plate on the face of of the card I like the way it looks as you can see there's no fan instead uh they're going to go like the 295x2 route and liquid cool this again this is all rumored uh but you can see the actual uh bar inlets right here at the top um as well as a radiator right next to it indicating that this card might potentially be paired with a with a liquid cooling solution um which is which is cool yeah uh also very interesting about this picture and I think Paul and I briefly talked about this last week uh because we were looking at this picture earlier is that the PCB is notably smaller than what we've seen for many flagships um and Paul says that it's that it's 8:42 a.m. is that where you're pointing at yeah okay cool do I need to is that my Quee to do something no I just wanted you to know he was there oh yeah I saw him earlier okay cool cool Paul's in chat hi Paul Paul I took your seat I hope you're okay with that yeah actually this is Paul's seat so I took your seat I hope you're okay with that Paul but anyway um this is good news I think I think it's kind of cool that uh I I I think um nvidia's finally met their match in terms of like style as far as like a reference cooler they've been using the same one they've been playing out the same one for a year or two now a couple years and I think it's time for a revision but AMD is clearly caught on to to that and gone with something more stylish I think it looks really nice um oh do you know what I just realized what's that the inputs yeah I was just about to touch on that so they're going with I think it's what they're all display ports and one HDMI so you get three I'm sorry that's four display port no I'm sorry there's three fullsize display port and one HDM yes uh so that's kind of interesting um again this is all specul but uh I we keep we keep seeing this uh let me show you the the picture of the ports right here right there this is from wccf tech there are the three display ports and then you got the HDMI right there it is a dual slot card um but again like I said uh the PCB is notably smaller and I think that's due to the hbm uh memory that they're going with um because you're able to stack the the memory modules on top of each other and so you don't actually need to take up any the space around the actual GPU uh which really allows you to condense the size of your your circuit board yeah because you have all that memory around it with all the traces going to it and separation for heat and everything else yeah it's just it's like right there it's going to be cool so I think uh I think this card will if this is the real card it's going to run a lot cooler um a because you have the the liquid cooling system but also just the way hbm works is that you don't it doesn't require as much power because the traces are so close together you don't have to go all around the circuit board which means less power consumption which means less heat output so I think altogether we're going to be looking at a card finally from AMD that can almost match if not top out Nvidia Flagship card in terms of thermal performance I don't know about that but I I can say I feel actually the opposite in terms of thermal performance because the GPU will now be the the new that that thing will be generating heat on its own and on top of that it has to heat it has to transmit heat through the memory to cool it off so it's not like it has any other way to just cool it off as before um it's kind of it it's it's that's a huge engineering feat that amd's um yeah Engineers have had to solve I mean it's awesome I mean it probably won't be if it's super efficient then they have to worry less about heat but either way you're still you're still basically using the memory as Tim that is that is now uh how you have to transmit heat so obviously the memory now is going to have to be really resilient to that um and it will never get as cool as you can get the memory you'll never get the GPU that cool so the the temperature sensors and everything else you'll probably have sensors maybe midpoint to show the memory temp as well as GPU temp it's going to be wild man I can't wait to see what they do they probably had to use U liquid cooling just to make sure that it was a constant uh uh uh stream of of heat being taken off those that GPU and memory that's I just can't wait to see how it works to be honest like I want to pop the lid off and see what they've actually done how the cooling system is different based on the new hbm architecture or the new hbm uh engineering so that's really cool uh also let us know in chat this one I feel like is a bit more 50/50 in terms of rumor versus reality um I feel like it could have easily been faked you know I'm not too surprised with the 980 TI reference cooler but let us know in chat if you think this is the real deal or if someone's bluffing here uh because I I I hope it's real like I said I like we like fantasizing about rumors to see if they're true or not um but let us know in the chat very interesting stuff uh also uh moving on we've got some issues with uh the the uh Witcher 3 and the the performance the AMD cards speaking of AMD cards uh have been having lately with the game due to things like Nvidia Gameworks and Hair Works and stuff what I really like about this article is is clearly uh Punk poets actually wrote it you can see the image on the upper left apparently Steve thinks that this guy looks like Punk poet if you control uh scroll up you can really zoom in there and get a good I feel like Punk poets is is a bit sharper looking even though he doesn't like beer I no problem with Archie pareas I I'm just I'm just I'm screwing around with with h Punk poets if he's still there if he's in chat I hope he is uh that is that is funny that is funny too I think he's got a fuller beard guy probably and he's Australian he doesn't look as upset as as um Archie does that's true this guy looks like he just woke up yeah he's just like all right I'll take a picture of my stupid thing and then I'm going to get back to writing again just write this I'm good at uh you're welcome Punk that was a point for you and a point for me uh so all right just briefly recap you probably heard a little bit about what was going on with uh with like AMD systems that weren't performing very well with Witcher 3 because Nidia had all this proprietary uh technology that they were working with the devs on that they weren't allowed that they weren't sharing with uh AMD so there wasn't much optimization there uh and even and even um like older uh GeForce cards like Kepler Kepler wasn't performing nearly as well as it should have been on Witcher 3 as well uh but that's for different reasons that's because there was some controversy about Nvidia possibly uh like cutting it short cutting the performance short on purpose just to boost up the the market appeal phrase that maybe it's not they're cutting it short maybe it's they're spending all their time on the current gen and then they'll start working on Kepler later potentially I I have no idea literally that the is the rumor that they are literally intentionally uploading a driver that is now worse than kep's standard driver two drivers ago or a driver ago there's there's all it's all speculation so but I mean that that is one of the theories the other theory is um like you said that they just have been spending all their time on Maxwell that they haven't given kep any time anytime to Kepler which is still wrong it's just as wrong because you shouldn't buy a card and two years later it be outdated I just don't want to play a game that I can't play on a card I bought a year and a half ago two years ago what like that's that's my thing as long as the game is playable now if we're talking about like I'm losing 20% performance that I could be getting this is like the way I've always seen Nvidia or anybody else like like you you just always I'll be sitting there with my my 2-year-old car going oh there's a new up a new driver update cool oh there's like 15% increase here 10% increase here oh they're all for not my GPU oh that's how it's always been like I don't feel I don't feel neglected but if it was like we have a bug a problem and it's directly related to your driver and you're not solving it now I'm pissed off now I'm pissed exactly exactly and there there have been numerous posts of people that you know have ranted on and on about how like their Whatchamacallit like a like a low-end AMD GPU or I'm sorry like a low-end Maxwell card is outperforming a high-end Kepler one right like a 960 or something yeah and it's like it's it's costing Nvidia a lot of trust with their with their users but that's kind of a different story altogether than what this article is talking about okay um we're just talking about rumors in general this is much less controversial controversial it's simply just an announcement that AMD is to release uh a beta driver a beta Catalyst driver that will Rectify a lot of the issues that um their their Hardware is having with Witcher 3 Okay so uh the 15.5 Catalyst driver should be coming out soon I don't think it's already out yet uh and it's supposed to fix like I said uh visual effects with hair hair works and things like that um but an interesting thing is that AMD is also potentially going to add its own uh visual effects to the game so on top of on top of it well I don't know it's that's also still speculation they haven't really confirmed it we just know it's going to be better it's going to perform better but I don't know if that means they're optimizing it for Hair Works or if it's that they're implementing something like their own technology for excuse me for example tress effects maybe they'll just add tress effects and be like forget Hair Works you know just just use our technology we just added it to the game and now all of a sudden your 290x runs like it should that's the only thing like that that's actually I mean if it's all like tactical which I I I hate to think that it would be like that I can't imagine it being like that but AMD just wanting to do a bit more and then being run down with the extra work of not only optimizing it for their stuff but also for NVIDIA stuff yeah I I just I don't know I I think that would be not in amd's best interest even though they might look better to the the public it's really ultimately nvidia's job to fix nvidia's driver issues and software issues not working with it I don't know my my perspective no that's definitely uh that's definitely the other side of the argument that people have been have been going over it's it's definitely a valid one yeah um I just don't want AMD to be caught up because they're not as big of a company as Nvidia they don't make as much money as Nvidia does so they don't have that kind of ability to just jump in and dump money on a problem they don't have that so they really need to focus on what they do well and keep their products moving forward that's a good point um but yeah if you guys are impatient and you've been playing The Witcher 3 and you don't want to wait for the 15.5 beta driver uh from AMD there is a workaround that's been posted by uh redditor fried bongwater yeah um who basically has found a way to get the game to work properly uh or at least much better perform better uh with things like Hair Works enabled even if you have a radon card um or an R9 card or a Kepler based GPU I believe so I'm not going to go through through all the details uh you can we can post a link or something uh or you can see the link up here um but basically you go through Catalyst Control Center uh you add Witcher 3.exe profile and then you tweak the tessellation settings in there and apparently that kind of yeah and apparently that'll that'll fix your problem so a nice little work around uh thank you fried bong water for that but yeah that's pretty much all I have for Tech news pretty uh pretty pretty short on the on the tech news today that's cool man yeah definitely but um some interesting prospects for for the near future um do you have any kind of preference on like do you have a closer watch on uh team red or Team Green as far as their their latest Flagship gpus or are you kind of going both ways I I swing in both ways I love that there's there always needs to be forward motion for two companies at the top of any field and and that's going to keep everything moving in a capitalist environment and and it keeps them always coming up with new stuff different perspectives on the same idea right like so gaming envidian AMD they want to make sure that you have the best gaming performance right and and I love that they're going from different approaches like yeah different perspectives in a different approach right so um the fact that AMD is coming out with another GPU line that is radically different the before I'm excited about that I think that's cool I want them to continue to innovate seems like nvidia's got like their their um their seem to be less exotic their Solutions but just really effective I think it's just it can just throw time and money at these problems that AMD is you know just they're they're they're juggling two balls right now right CPUs and gpus that's that's a lot going on so I can easily see why they'd want to pull back on one or the other and then new new set of AMD uh G CPUs coming out too so like rumored but like of course that'd be awesome either way like desktop ones not just the apus right yep so absolutely anyway um thank you for that and uh let's let's move on to the next segment which is the games report uh we're going to do face off in a little bit I'm going to do Games first since we had a shorter News segment um there's some interesting games that are coming out soon uh some of which I'm excited for and others I'm a bit skeptical uh so first off let's talk about madmax the game uh obviously this is kind of sprung up because of the did we skip or we going to go back yeah we're going to go back to that okay cool cool uh obviously this has sprung up because of the huge huge success of the the recent film that came out so good which was really good by the way I saw it last night with my fian it was yeah it does amazing amazingly shot it's just one long action sequence it's it's pretty intense uh so it's no surprise that some developers are hopping on this opportunity to make a game based off of it Loosely based off of it yeah uh this one's actually from Avalanche Studios who makes just cause cool uh so you might be expecting immediately like all kinds of silly Mayhem grapple hooks but it's going to be a little the this the the Mad Max game is going to be a little bit less lighthearted uh okay you know it's a little darker a little bit darker takes after the movie a bit in that way uh so you're not going to be you know shooting machine guns from helicopters and stuff like that uh but you are going to be roaming around in your little dune buggy type car uh and pretty much the majority of that the game uh revolves around upgrading that car running into things mainly other cars uh and destroying them to bits so that you can then take those parts to upgrade your car further so you can run into more things what about Fuel and like and searching because I know it's open world so like searching the open world for like locations where you might be able to gather uh yeah so there are like little bases and it seems like every region of of the game has like a like a a top dog warlord um with that's kind of like protect held in this base kind of like the the little um Fort bases in in Far Cry 4 okay you remember that kind of similar to that God now I want to play Far Cry 4 I know right uh so massively open world desert game sounds like a lot of fun um of course you can use your vehicle to take out other ones via uh there's like flamethrowers that shoot out the sides you know all kinds of weird little add-ons that you can do Spears yeah Spears with explosives spe explosives I I know that was in the movie I'm not sure I didn't read anything about it in the game but it's very very possible there's a lot of things like that uh so yeah it looks pretty fun there's also a lot of hand toand combat so when you're actually on foot uh you can engage in um in combat that's very similar to like the the combat system in like the Arkham series okay cool exactly that's a really fun one yeah so uh if you guys aren't familiar with that there's like combo chains you can do takedowns uh visualized button prompts to Q you to do counterattacks and things like that uh so if you're into that sort of thing might be kind of cool but it seems like they're trying to cram a lot of different play Styles into one game so it'll be interesting to see if they can actually pull it off or you know if it's if it's just going to be too much to take on for one title um but uh yeah things will things will be proven or disproven uh there is a trailer out although this article that I picked for some reason doesn't have it so if you guys want to check that out you guys can go ahead and do that I'll put a link in the in the chat yeah uh all right moving on to the next game this is a horror game where you can't see uh this is uh from I can't see damn it damn it I need to change it back to the uh stories here sorry guys couldn't even see it ah there we go all right this is called perception and it's a kind of an indie I don't want to say an indie title it's it's from stems from the same developers uh same ex developers from Bioshock and Dead Space yeah um Dead Space being a very scary game so kind of makes sense that uh they're going horror with this one sounds promising as well um but it's called perception and it basically revolves well first off it's on Kickstarter right now we're not even sure if it's going to be uh fully produced I really really hope it is though it it looks very interesting um we need just show them that video to really get it yeah I'm just going to run through it really quick let me know if the volume's okay guys uh they start off with a little quote it's all very it's all very nice so you you play as this girl who's blind she's totally blind blind as a bat well not blind as a bat well yes blind is a bat actually yeah because echolocation exactly so you you rely on sound to help you see anything that makes a sound in the game creates a visual effect so you have cane you have a cane that you walk around with and you can tap the cane and it creates like this burst of vision uh momentarily where you can kind of see in that direction um as if you as if sound's bouncing off of it and you're getting an idea of where it is it's all like monocolor uh what the monochromatic yes you can see there's very limited amount of color in the game but that kind of lends itself to the whole blind thing right blind people that are that blind uh don't see color if you're really freaking blind um I'm just going to stop right now has gradients of blind in his mind and he's just like you're blind well you know some people are like kind of blind you can't see very far people are half blind anyway you play as a chick who's having nightmares these dreams about this this house so she does research she does her research I don't know how cuz she's blind but she finds she yeah you're right bra that's right sorry keep going keep going I was making a terrible joke uh and she finds the house so she decides to investigate and there's it's haunted obviously um with ghouls and ghosts and things like that so she she she tries to rectify what has happened at at this house you know all the wrongdoings that have happened there over the generations and it kind of goes back in time it skips around in in time and things like that but uh it's interesting there's there's actually um the problem with using your cane and other items to help you see is that the more noise you make the more Spirits you attract you're attracting the Dead with your you're attracting the Dead with your sound but you also need the sound to see so it's kind of like it helps it makes you weigh the risk of those two things right trick being able to see versus getting caught yeah now let's say you do make too much noise and a Spirit uh comes to you and tries to kill you presumably um what kind of weapons do you have to defend yourself well uh according to this line from their the developers Kickstarter uh it says while Cassie doesn't have an arsenal of weapons she does have her wit her cane and her smartphone so her her smartphone makes light but no sound that she can see with right great unless she can like play a ringtone on her phone and just leave it and see the whole thing uh but you're kind of limited you're kind of limited it's not like a shoot Run and Gun type survival horror like Resident Evil or something um you really have to rely on running and hiding if you get spotted so kind of familiar like reminds me of Amnesia a bit I never really played it by the way did you like it I played like the demo and it was scary as hell and I I didn't want to we need to get this game going with a new version with Heather yeah we need to do that yeah I'll I'll make my fiance player and if it's multiplayer we'll get my wife playing with your fiance oh my God like rest in peace headphone users um but yeah this this game looks really interesting I haven't seen anything anything like it other than the whole Amnesia aspect of running and hiding not having real weapons um but you can use uh the environment to help you um get cover and to to progress through the levels uh for example like when there's like a grandfather clock that starts ringing um you can use that to tap your cane more because then the spirits won't attribute the noise to you so there's like little strategies that you have to put into play I like that um but yeah I think they're they're asking for what is it 150k the developers are asking for 150k specifically from each person specifically from from each donor uh they really have no interest in making the game from each backer when I first checked earlier today they were at like 13 k or something like that but I'm pretty sure they're they're a bit higher than that now but there you guys go perception interesting interesting interesting all right and uh we got a couple more articles here under the games report the next one being the ENB mod coming to GTA 5 now this is pretty exciting because uh for those of you who don't know ENB the en series is um is a modding tool that allows users to really amp up the the quality of their in-game visual effects uh this so many pun jokes lined up and I I held back I oh no go for it you should just too late because I I should have been like oh cool so it's like a bed and breakfast mod for GTA 5 no Steve not not BNB andb oh cool like you're right it's good that you didn't I was trying to line up three or four but I I ran out of the first one I had a second one but I was like nah that doesn't make any sense a shortlived joke yes uh but that's okay um so basically this an awesome mod they did it for four too right yeah they did it for GTA is really popular for Skyrim still is popular for Skyrim uh just controls a lot of things like depth of field Bloom Sunray Shadows lighting all that kind of thing ssao uh right now this is just the first public beta version so it's mainly used for testing it's not a complete build yet but it is nice to see that uh this is this is going to be a thing and if I'm not mistaken they're still recommending this for single player use not multiplayer at all right yeah exactly Rockstar is has said that specifically um and it makes sense there's a lot of mods out there that have malware you know as we found out in recent weeks uh and you no no no no like it was just an article flying around I think it was the always had I forget which one it was wasn't the whale mod was it the gun mod where you shoot different things up might have been that one it was a popular one like that it's got to be a good a good honey pot to get people to to jump in on it yeah exactly but the cool thing about this is that GTA 5 already looks freaking beautiful so having the E andb mod just makes things photo realistic even photo realistic yes but there's also wait let's play the video I haven't even watched this video so hopefully like it's not like a something terrible get in trouble star intensity you can change things like Star intensity look at those clouds those look better than our real clouds wow that Skybox looks sick yeah what that's super bright so intense well that's a little too intense that's like what happens when you die and it goes Cloud intensity that was like a ambient Ambient intensity up intensity it's pretty intense we need to ambient that up man yes we do no we should not be taking ambient wait what I understand why I think you wrote in the description there I briefly read it that you were recently sold the reference design for like 150 bucks cheaper than retail price which is great I would have done the same thing and of course I would have popped it in as well but I think there's something else you could do you could probably uh maybe score an ACX 2.0 cooler for the reference card uh I think you mentioned that as well I think that's a great idea um just get another EVGA uh cooler swap it out it'll look so much better I think you already know that I don't really need to tell you that um additionally I think if you're going for a color coordinated build which I take it you are because uh you've got you know your your fans on the h100i right here or the H 105i um or is it the h80i it's h sorry uh as well as the blue fan up here it looks like you're trying to match everything uh black blue and black black and blue um but the ax 1200i power supply isn't really doing it for me it just kind of clashes it stands out sticks out like a sore thumb can I throw some stuff in there yeah go for it did you already talk about uh wire management nope yeah so that's that's a Rat's Nest in there man yeah I'd agree like that's that to me I can accept the different video cards you have tons of hard drives in there too I can accept the the different um design gpus that's fine if if the wiring looks clean so take two three hours check out Kyle's video on it and just go through it man like it looks so much cleaner yeah and I'm sorry that's an h60 I uh not an h80 you're right it's pretty thin um but yeah I completely agree with you Steve um there's quite a few routing holes in this case uh even though they're not grommeted you still have plenty of room to tuck away those cables and make it look really nice and clean um especially in the the power supply area I think it could be tidied up a bit uh just zip ties zip ties zip ties all day he say he says straight up though before Cable Management so I'm sure at some point you you're right this is before yeah and this is after the after looks kind of similar though no way look at the go scroll up and scroll back down again just look at at everything like no look at the power supply the power supply is still being routed through it but look up look look where the gpus are and like everything above it it's just it's be cleaner with wire management yeah yeah I think like uh whatever that is like some USB cables or no the the one that's being routed up just just to the right of his bottom card um just overall it could be a little tidier I think the cabling near the the hard drive tray like to the right of the hard drive be tued away to talk about the the USB uh wiring and the and the the sound header the the sound card header so if you were looking at the audio header and everything else across the bottom of the of the motherboard what I have done in the past and it's a serious to do this I'll warn you but if a chassis doesn't have a hole there that you can shove everything through what I've done in the past I've ran it underneath the motherboard yeah and so for audio that causes some inter issues you can do some things to Shield it but I mean if you just looking for cleanliness and you never use the front anyways um then you can run it underneath the motherboard out through uh the the hatch in the back the access panel in the back and but it requires you to take literally everything out of your chassis run the wires around backwards through the holes and then plug them all in and then line everything up and screw it back in so you literally have to do your build over again um but that's one way to get just the bottom lines to just look super clean yeah that's that's actually a really good point Steve um and also the fact that running these cards in s you've got two cards in here and they're pretty beefy obviously um I feel like they might be a little bit starved for air flow just because you have so many hard drives in there uh filling up the cage uh on the bottom there so what a POS one possibility is and not everyone's going to be into this and I understand if you're not is uh is they have um I think zigma Tech makes a an adapter for 5 and a/4 inch Bays you can take three I'm sorry three 5 and a/4 inch bays and it's basically a hard drive cage that goes into those three bays and it turns it into four 3 and 1/2 in Drive Bays so you could actually fit all four of your mechanical drives in that cage and put them right there in that big empty space if you think about it you should make more room you should make a lot more room at the bottom because that's where your fans are the intake fans are and you have a bunch of room up top empty space that doesn't need to be empty you can occupy it so and another thing well for me performance wise I get a lot more air flow if I just put a fan right over the gpus anyways so if you can mod it or if the chassis itself I didn't read which chassis it is um has a um a fan uhhuh it's a zelman z11 plus I think that has these weird fans on the sides that like takes air in if I'm not mistaken could like that case very much but um but I think that it would work already if you already have that you get some air flow but it's just not as much as if you were to just cut an fing hole in it and then and then Mount your own I've done that before with a Dremel right um tons better performance nice um yeah so there you guys uh so there you have it um thank thank you for sending that in uh Michael appreciate it uh but moving on we've got Chris Chris has sent in a picture a few pictures of his PC and I think it looks pretty good for the most part let's take a look here is we're on Chris now we are on Chris oh my bad thought we're on Ryan oh you're right well let's do let's do Chris first and then we'll go back to Ryan copy uh so we've got an MSI card in there looks very nice Definitely um attention to detail with the red and black theme I could he's going with uh he made sure to get uh the motherboard and and the video card as well as the RAM and the exhaust fan and the the bottom fan right there uh all matching nice and pretty with the red and black theme um if you really want to drive that home I would say for some reason I don't like white when it's mixed in with red and black I think red and black just looks good red and black um you know so obviously this is a defin R5 and it comes stock with with those white uh expansion slots but if you could find another case maybe an old case or something that's the only thing though he just needs to buy some expansion slot covers and those are cheap exactly yeah so you can buy some expansion slot covers and just black out the entire system black out the backside of the system do them all in red or you could spray paint them if you really wanted to you could do them in red if you wanted to and it's already white so you have a base Cod of something yeah exactly uh also the stock cooler I think even if you're not overclocking the Intel stock cooler just both AMD and in stock coolers are a little noisy just cuz they're such small fans they need to spin up at faster RPMs uh when under load and it could be quite annoying I mean if it doesn't bother you at all and your temps are fine you're not overclocking then I guess it's fine but if you really wanted to get a little bit more uh thermal dissipation out of your out of your cooling system and even do a nice little overclock I think it could do all of that and then some by adding a nice aesthetic to your rig because you've got something good going for you right now but that thing just it just looks unfinished it looks like you're looks like you're in the middle of saving money up for it a work in progress and you know if I actually read these damn tweets I might see that you are working on this thing no no he just said currently tweet you last week he just said that he he tweeted me last M unless he said something different last week yeah but uh I don't know what else do you have to say about this Steve I gotta agree with you with the cooler um and I and usually I do wire management slightly differently once again when it comes to uh one the in general uh um and then two even the even just the way that the the cooler has the cable kind of going across the top I try to like run it around closer to the motherboard um and then or maybe tie it into a couple loops or braid it you can braid it too and shortens it up also if you can uh don't if you haven't cleaned it off and you're still using the original pad that was on it or not Pad but you know like the the paste that was already on it right taking it off moving it and putting it back down again is not really advised but if you if you do have some some more um uh uh uh material you can throw on there and just clean that off real quick um and then spin it around what you can do is bring the wire closer to top and then braid it together so it's super short and then it'll just be one continuous line that goes straight in and even that would look better than uh than what it looks right now um and you might even be able to to rock that for a little bit longer honestly like if if you have it and you don't care about it then that's fine but this is a semi semic contest like we're are grading it so I would say that's definitely something I would change and other than that tighten up the the cables like the bring them together try and make it look like one thing instead of a mess of spaghetti like if you can if you can make this look like this or like this that that looks so much cleaner just to the eye uh straighter lines too uh with cables but other than that I think that's really good yeah his his case has tons of air flow he's even got an extra fan at the bottom yep I know I really like that yeah so uh well done Chris just make a few adjustments there I think you're good to go um next up we've got uh no not Jack back we let's go back to to Ryan Ryan you will not be left behind Ryan wait Ryan I don't I don't know where Ryan is second right underneath Michael I Ryan's rig thank you for Sing This in Ryan uh you've got an old school budget uh system in here um yeah and you even mentioned that Ultra budget build recycled old GPU and power supply recommendations to upgrade those and the CPU Cooler so again we've got a lot of Intel stock coolers here uh and that's fine but you know at least you have an upgrade path there that you can work towards um as far as cooling goes I mean hyper 212 Evo I think is still so the top of the list as far as price to Performance once again I think it's because the the the label there is probably saying Intel so they want to be able to read it but the cable for the stock coolers once again as far away from that that fan uh header as possible so like I would definitely once again spin that around yeah uh like like 180 degrees from where it is right now just make sure you clean it off and just zip tie the the excess or twist tie twist tie or bring it behind mother and just whatever's there and come back around again it if you want to go hardore yeah I mean I you know it's it's hard to like really say like oh get some sleeved cables for this system because it's such a budget build it's like you know I'm just trying to clean up this few lines that I see I I think your cable Management's really good actually you're using all the correct grommets I think all the best grommets you could possibly use y um you know I I think if you wanted to be a little bit more matchy you could get some blue dims uh you know some some Ram modules with uh blue heat spreaders just to match the the motherboard a bit and I don't know that power supply just looks like it needs to be replaced I'm not sure how old it is or if it's 80 plus I can't really tell doesn't look like it is it is but um I don't know get an 80 plus power supply if you want a recommendation for a and you're still wanting to be budget oriented um I I I've been recommending the CX series a lot over the last few months Corsair CX series really good um who else makes some good budget power supplies yeah fractal Josh budget power supplies not like amazing Primo ones yeah fractal like if you actually want a killer rig in your Scandinavian design it costs some little bit of money they are you know fractal power supplies obviously are much more reliable than than what you have in here but uh definitely a bit more um investment as well uh but I don't know who else makes some really cheap power supplies uh super super cheap EVGA I guess has some really good ones um it's been a while since I've looked at that market man to be honest with you I can't oh yeah the real the real rlp just said EVGA uh they makes I know they just came out with their line of uh they got some modular ones that are like sub 50 dude what yeah like like like 450 500 I mean definitely enough wattage to power Whatever video card that is yeah um if you wanted if you wanted a tip on I don't know if you wanted to replace your video card get get an AMD uh GPU I mean I would go with like I would go with like an r9280 I would definitely wait until the the proposed 300 series if they're coming out like hold off on everything until then in terms of gpus yeah because you'll you'll save some money that's a good point and but and and who knows if they're kind of out of your price range when they do launch you might see some lowered prices on on the 200 series I'm say don't buy the newest ones unless they make a great deal for for you um that's right yeah uh so I think that's pretty much all I have to say um clean looking build it it goes to show like you can still have a really really low-end budget system and it still looked nice yeah because this is like look at how clean there's like no dust no dude it just looks like you've been taking care of it and it looks better than some $2,000 rigs I've seen that just like uh they get dirty man you got to Cle dirty you got to clean them dirty dirty all right there was a there was a company maybe Josh knows which one I'm talking about um like quite a few yeah uh quite a few years ago there was a company that that at PDX line would show up and they had these like little like Zip not like ziplocks but like like packages of wet wipes basically for cleaning out your PC uhhuh and like they were they like dust holding and everything they were awesome Josh you know what I'm talking about huh I'm I'm yeah talk in chat uh but next up we've got Jack Jack sends this into us from somewhere in the world uh it's a little Overexposed the the picture itself but we're going to try to work with it best that we can um first off it looks like you're building in a fantex case uh the enu Primo I would I would speculate uh I can see the fantex logo right there um definitely an awesome case you've got a ton of room to work with uh the first thing that stands out to me is your CPU Cooler in that configuration and I think hey if you're getting temps with uh with the the cooler being oriented horizontally not vertically like it traditionally is or commonly is um then that's fine I I don't really care especially if you like the aesthetic of that better um it really just boils down to personal preference talking about his orientation yes is it blowing up I think so okay as long as it's blowing up you're yeah I I agree it as long as it's assuming that it's blowing up I think it's fine as long as you're getting okay temps uh if it's not I would flip the fan around at least uh to so that you have a little bit more going up for exhaust um apart from that the cable management I think could be a little bit improved especially with the video card um I think that there's like I would route that that pcie cable to the to The Grommet above it instead of going all the way down I I get where you're coming from like it's just a straight shot but it also kind of is so in the foreground that you that's the first thing you see whereas if you were to just kind of tuck it behind the the video card uh to the ground over here um it'd be a bit more discreet and wouldn't stand out as much yeah Steve what do you think no I agree with your assessment on that completely um I like I like this chassis in general though because you can take like I was mentioning before you can take those USB cables and the um the audio header and run run the cables all from that up to your front panel or anything else in through the grommets right there I I love it when when manufacturers do that much better yeah they fantex makes some great cases um obviously not as as good as Frac ones but you know uh to each their own um but I think that's pretty much it uh the only thing I would critique here is the picture quality and um that this obviously has nothing to do with the system but um I know a lot of you guys thank God that a lot of you guys have been sending in your pictures of your systems lately let me switch over to to our faces so you can my face there I am there's your face so I look I look really I look really silly sorry uh I know a lot of you guys have been sending in your pictures lately and thank you thank you so much because it actually gives us content for the show the day you stop sending in your rig pictures the day we stopped doing the segment which is going to be really really sad but in case you're wondering why I might not be choosing your your pictures oh that's a good yeah a quality of the picture itself if if it's Overexposed or if it's at a bad angle it's not straight on and or maybe the side panels on I can't see the hard drive cages I mean I want to see everything so make sure that your side panel is off and I can see the all the way from the left side to where your exhaust fan is all the way to the right side where your hard drive cages are and your five 5 and a qu inch Bay are and make sure that the lighting is good and and there's no dark spots if there's a dark spot I won't choose it I won't pick that picture I'm going to relate this to something you truly understand your computer is that hot chick you found on the internet that's naked and a with a crappy phone you we need to see that hot chick your computer we need to see that hot computer that is the exact analogy I had in mind then we're just like I can can imagine what it looks like and I'm sure it looks really cool but you're not going to make the cover of Playboy with that picture you're not going to make the cover of Playboy that's the point that's exactly what I'm trying to say uh or play girl or play girl or play girl you know I'm not going to discriminate here one yeah yeah send us your play Girl picture no don't do that um so the other the other reason I might not be picking your system pictures is because your your rig is already perfect in every way or or that's true you showed me a couple that were just or perfect enough it's Primo enough to the point where me Steve or Paul could never really offer enough critique or or you know or options to to make it worthwhile for the show so if if you keep sending in your your custom water cooled picture like why aren't they choosing my system it's because it's already pimped out and we literally have nothing else to say you should be proud that we haven't pick your picture you should be sending that to PC Gamer and let put it on a million dollar PC because Paul and I can't help you at that point you it would be really cool though if you did take like we should yeah I think I think that could be a good like maybe a giveaway on on the channel like the you know well if you want I was just suggesting as like cool content because they're obviously sending them to you anyways like here's the ones who lost for this reason a lot of a lot of the notable ones I'll save the pictures directly to my hard drive and stuff so you know just in case I want to bust him out for going back to my original uh uh correlation here that I I made ah ah yes yes although yes of course um but that's pretty much it I think alog not perfect and camera I can't do anything with that yeah camera uh this one is coming in from tuckup interesting name um let me uh go ahead and switch over I'm not going to pull a Paul I'm actually going to switch over this time there we go all right so this is kind of my hot my my hot my hand is getting really hot in here is it swe like it's sweating like this was a clean sock when I put it on I'm going to take it off a dirty sock it will be removed dirty all right it's it's difficult so so I actually like how clean the system is and and before I say anything crazy about it at all I actually have a very similar looking system myself it looks good it's clean clean it's got great air flow um it the the maybe a little bit of wire wire management um Cable Management that I need to do but aside from that it's actually a really clean build um the problem is here jumps out on me immediately is the amount of dust I need to dust my stuff really bad too man so yeah um so touchup I I recommend like going over it shutting the system down and going over it especially those fans dude if the fans have as much caked on um uh dust as I think they do you probably live in a hot area where you leave your windows open a lot and this is probably near that window because it's sucking a ton of this dust in um that or like myself you don't vacuum very often in your household which it's not like it's dirty it's just that dust Falls a lot and you need to vacuum it up in order get it up otherwise your system which is probably on the ground is sucking all this stuff in right um so Paul yells at me every time and and and for every time he says get that system off the ground like when he texts you know tweets it you know all like caps he's never really yelling it but he is like he's he's compelled to say that when he comes to my house there's like four computers on the ground granted they're not all on at the same time but they're like Paul literally gets a panic attack anytime he goes into yeah just put him up he just can't handle it yeah oh oh what for Halloween this year I'm going to dress up as a computer and just be on the ground and be the scariest ghoul or Monster PA ever seen here's what you do you have like instead of um you know like streamers or something Have streamers that are out like this that when the fans like have little fans and they just suck little dust particles in you can see so you can see the dust going in you know God that is a great great idea like big like you know like home fans that like for my for my intakes and just have Heather like dumping dust into me like flying up in my face oh I'm on the ground Sude save me Paul yes yeah he he absolutely has a point though like everything I ever learned about computers growing up was that the dust on the ground is much bigger and it can cause like if it gets into to the the PSU which is the most likely position it'll get sucked into it will actually hit certain components and possibly cause a fire and computer fires are really really really bad they're very uh have many hazardous chemicals and gases that are released when when um when they're burning so uh they are laughing their asses off we must be in the middle of doing this that's I can think of love it gosh love it yeah all right um I think if I were to say anything about this definitely the dust thing uh also the 240 mm radiator that you've got up there uh I I noticed you have the fans up top um you prefer push than pull I I I'm not going to say I prefer push than pull because I used to I used to have um well my my first system was a 600 T and you could only do a pull in that system with a 240 rad unless you did some modifications so I was doing pull for the longest time and I posted pictures of it online everyone was like you should switch to push it's way better it's super you know you're you're losing like 10 degrees or whatever I switched it and I saw like a one degree performance difference which is negligible um so I'm not going to knock you for that because I would always get annoyed when people would say they like dude I switched it like you said and it didn't fix anything um so that's fine but what I would be what I would tell what I would say is that I hope those fans are set to exhaust and not intake okay um just because then you're bringing more hot air into your system as opposed to exhausting it and you're too you can you can have a positive pressure inside of a system but I wouldn't recommend it in this case I I always prefer the two in the front sucking in and then the three in this case in the back pulling out and in fact I like the fact that you you have it set up as pull for this simple reason upgrades later far faster far more simple to just pop on four more fans right then and there versus pull it all off put two or four more I meant two more two more fans in the front right there versus or on the bottom right there versus pulling them all out and putting them on the top it's it's a little bit more problematic and and now it's it's like already in place you just got to pop in a couple screws and you're ready yeah um so that's definitely the way that I start out yeah but I agree though it should be pull on this on this uh pushing everything out yep but altogether uh nice system I would change the SLI bridge to a black one yeah I like that go for one of the Asus ones the Asus you could buy one of those and they look super cool um and they light up and it would just make it cool but aside from that dude definitely vacuum your stuff out I mean not vacuum but you know clean out the stuff inside get a can of compressed air get some dust off like at this point though bro it's really a rag like and and you really want to like make sure it's I said a rag too but I mean like to get the initial dust off like cuz there's so much dust here that dust off would actually get rid of some like the top layer cuz there's probably dust bunnies just sitting there at the point of it and you know get as much as you can and then go in with there with the remember what I was going to say about the fans you're going to want to like go in there with like Q-tips and get it all out or buy new fans I don't recommend you fill our our landfills with these fans or wherever your landfills are but um you could definitely clean those up with a with get it all off with with you know a rag or paper towels or whatever and then go to Q-tips to really get the rest of it off I would say right yep absolutely okay um and just to to verify really quick uh I think what cell processing was saying earlier um the headphones on top I can confirm those are dt880 Pros I have the same ones at home oh wait my microphone I'm tethered all right not worth it not worth it I'll go but they are dta880 Pros in case anyone was wondering uh from biodynamic um you can tell they're not the dt770s well what maybe I don't think they're dt770s because I think they have a different band but that's the exact same band uh and and cushions and everything um from mine so yes very good headphones very nice rig thank you touchup with the interesting name no idea how to pronounce it but uh moving on to Landon Landon sent in his rig he said simplistic black is the goal here I'm just I mean and it is very black which system is this which which chassis is this uh this is an air 240 I think okay so then the PSU is on the other side right okay I was like exactly I was like I forgot how clean that looked and I was like wait I'm sorry air 540 yeah I see the air 240 is the the mini or the Micro ATX version there this is the same uh yeah exactly so I don't know I really like this case I think it it looks really clean um because all the cabling and stuff is done on the other side uh especially the power supply you don't have to worry about the power supply um we've seen this from countless other manufacturers who try to cover up the power supply mess like NZXT with their h440 right they've got that whole shroud that covers the power supply fantex does the same thing for some of other cases um and Corsair does it in a different way by just putting it on the opposite side of the case completely shrouding everything in sight um so I think there's a lot of potential here to look really clean and you've done a really bang up job here Ser uh super clean Cable Management again you're utilizing all the correct grommets in exactly the right way I like how you've kind of put all the like you put your your 24 pin ATX and your PCI cables through the same grommet I think that makes it look a lot cleaner it just looks so flat everywhere else it just it just consolidating it into one grommet I think is is is a good is a good thing to do um instead of like cuz otherwise your eyes drawn to different routes that are going all over the place um whereas this just looks very contained in one SE little section and the rest of it looks clean um I don't even care that the the the water block on your CPU is up down that's the first thing I see though I mean I know how if you're going to if you're going to critique what else could you possibly say aside from that yeah I mean the only other option he had was to to flip it around um and move the other direction or or yeah that right like the best op option there flip the hoses the opposite direction and reattach it and flip the radiator too saying the whole thing exctly saying that terms of my mind if you really wanted the The Branding to be right side up that's a good way to do it especially because I think that lights up so it's even more noticeable in in low light environments I would agree that's probably one of the few things we could actually critique on this the other going to walk away now pissed he's like I knew it I knew they were going to talk about the freaking cooler well you know hopefully he'll be happy now like maybe he was on the fence about it and we just you know he was on the fence about spending four and a half hours on cable management and then he was like no we're good I'll leave that yeah maybe because he knew my formula he knew that if if it was perfect we' never choose him this is probably true thisly why everybody has all those those c those uh those uh um those stock CPU coolers because they're all like oh yeah he's going to say something about the always picks the ones with stock coolers yeah I'll do that and then he'll be like you just need to change the cooler I'll be like yeah I know here it is ha just right in the background that we can't see in the pictur is just like all their custom water cooling like thousands of dollars but they just like swapped it out with a bunch of crappy parts I got on the show yeah I'm on the show genius genius um but the one of the thing I would say here is only because you mentioned that you were going for a minimalistic black setup is black out the fans maybe like get some nice high static pressure fans for your radiators uh for your radiator there and just make them fully black I think if you just did it like completely blacked out it would look pretty sick uh that's the only thing I I'm seeing aesthetically that's not matching with me is you've got two of the white radiator fans up top and you've got a gray one in the back you can either black those out or if you're not super set on the whole Black theme I think maybe having a white fan in the back uh instead of the the stock Corsair case fan that comes with the uh the air 540 would match just a bit nicer with the with the radiator fans front fans as well honestly beautiful system yeah seriously I don't really have much else to say about it uh and and on that note let's move on so thank you Landon for sending that in again love it when you guys send in your stuff next one comes from uh a buddy of ours as well is a cell processing what's up cell I think he's in chat right now um he sent in his rig and I think this is the first time he sent in his pictures unless I I rejected him in in earlier episodes or something but I don't remember REM him sending some stuff in so he's got a a Define R4 there uh looks pretty pretty Define our fory and this is a nice uh shot of the front end of his system um there's a lot going on here I feel I I like I like the hardware the hardware looks good I think that's a 760 in there I think it's matched nicely with the cx600 nothing's Overkill seems pretty well balanced uh you've got one of those hard drive cages removed um which is good because you've got air flow now going kind of directly to your CPU Cooler uh might might help with some thermals a bit there you even got a fan that's at the bottom near your drive cage um that that's pretty much just delivering really fresh air flow to your video card I think that's uh really nice to see as well um looks like you've got an Rog board in there um I think aesthetically uh the cabling even though your cable management um show the back panel pretty good yeah CH show the back panel though yes I was going to get to that yeah cuz I I feel like if you're going to hit him for that this he he had the he had the the balls to show us the back which so many won't and this is super clean this is probably some of the cleanest backend Cable Management I've ever seen yeah this is cleaner than mine we've looked at a lot of backends and uh yep Colin I both agree you have the best back end we've seen yes so anytime you want me you want to invite me to your back end no I'm not going to go there um but yeah I think you did an excellent job we should all take a lesson learn a lesson from cell here on cable management on the back end he could still clean it up though to go back to your point he can still clean up the front a lot more cuz the if the back looks better than the front work more on the front that's why people the back this is almost inverse because usually most people have a worse looking back end because it's you know it's the part they don't see they just add aight out of mind and they just kind of clutter it all and cram it in or they do zip tight and stuff but just not to this degree of detail which is just phenomenal it almost feels like he started with the the back plate and then or the base the motherboard base plate from the opposite side and then let gave himself what he figured would be enough cable to go through because even the GPU it's just like wow there a lot of slack right there came up underneath it instead of going going off over the top yes yes yeah I agree it's cool um teol overall what what else would I say um I think if you're trying to go aesthetically you know I mean again these are things I probably don't need to say out loud but uh having the green uh CX series cooler with the Rog red mother motherboard uh clashes a bit Paul and I have discussed this too like it feels a bit christmy anytime we see red and green we think like Christmas uh for some reason it's just like I we always associate those two colors together there's a mod right like you could pop that cooler off and just pop on like resolder on your own LEDs if they match I'm sure you could yeah like the same resistance or something exactly okay uh just matter just depends on how much how much effort you want to put into it um but overall a nice looking system functionally it's it looks excellent uh and um crappy picture quality though yeah yeah what you take this with like a Nokia candy phone or no he didn't do what is this probably a webcam no maybe than a webcam it's definitely his phone it's just an older phone yeah we're going to get you a new phone still it's also he's firing into light he's he's shooting like his first picture you can see is his window's bright white right yeah I think I think the sensor would have been better off if you close the shades next time and let it try to take a couple pictures without that true and then all he has to do now is just take this this room fan this box fan here and Mount that into your case if you could just replace your side panel with the the window with this fan it would drastically decrease your temps and I think you'd be uh you'd be a lot happier with your overclocks there and you've got the wire the wire management down so the cable management down so you don't have to worry about getting sucked in or hitting the fins just install that industry grade fan you're good to go uh thanks for sending that in cell yeah man next next up we've got Brandon and this is actually our our last system of the day uh and it's the only water cooled system that I picked out it's an Xperia phone so it's a ah xeria phone okay nice well that explains it um so yeah uh again we've got an NZXT case looks like an h440 great case uh you've got some liquid cooling here but it looks like you're using an h100i uh and you just added in your own tubing which is interesting I I don't think I've ever seen that before well Paul did something like that with a a swift Tech but that's that's meant to be expandable I don't know the h no no no he grabbed he grabbed like a um a totally different radiator from something else like he grabbed something and just started to try and do his own work with it remember was it was it um an AO radiator it was AO radiator for a CPU Cooler I want to say it wasn't marketed as a expandable it was a 240 it wasn't expand it wasn't expandable like it no he like cut the hoses I remember cuz we got another one it was like NZXT something is that the crate crate Kraken Kraken Kraken is NZXT yeah I think it was a cracking cuz we had two in the office and one he' already he butchered up and it was for project on it yeah oh interesting um but yeah this is definitely the first time I've seen uh someone using an h100i water block for a custom Loop um but it looks like you did a pretty good job um I think this is is that a pump it is the pump right underneath the fan right pump underneath the fan can't tell oh yeah I think you might pump with some some pretty hefty hoses so I didn't even notice that but that looks a little funny to me I feel like maybe the pump would be better off uh behind the behind the like the the 5 and a qu inch panel off to the right whatever this is uh behind the shroud I'm always I'm always a bit nervous when you when you put the thing that that actually forces liquid through above the CPU where grav above all your Hardware basically all your hardw yeah um and I don't I don't do a lot of water cooling I've never done my own water cooling Loops but I talk a lot to a couple friends of mine that that do a lot of professional work and ask a lot of question certain things like that you know yeah but hey it's I'd also imagine that the pump might like move around CU it's not mounted to anything you might have it mounted we just can't tell I mean I mean really like not really zip TI bro it looks like it's I mean yeah but still it's I feel like a pump a pump should be mounted to something like screw it down bolt it down it because it has think about like it's moving all the time so something like that rattling I mean just having vibration especially because there's two tubes connected to it like easily you could have just you know the the the return tube coming back uh or the outgoing tube I think that's probably the return tube yeah because it's going through the radiator first so like I would just put that over in the 5 and a qu Bay Area that's that would be fine yeah yeah with with the radiator or next to it that's one way to do it and then you've got a windforce card that might be a I don't know 970 or 980 um they look the same yeah they do look the same it's hard to tell but something's going on with the pcie cables yeah I think they're not matching at all and if I had to choose one or the other to go with I'd choose none of them because they're both hideous um especially because you've got that nice 24 pin sleeve cable don't get tired on me Steve I'm sorry you wake up I'm sorry just splash this beer in your face not on your keyboard okay well technically be yours yeah but knowing me it' probably get on mine too I would never waste delicious beer yeah yeah never not intentionally but uh I I don't know I feel like you've got the nice 24 pin sleev Cable in a beautiful red that matches nicely with your RAM and your and your tubing and your liquid so you're basically suggesting just dude buy some some extensions buy the same one don't try to buy it one that looks like the other one he does have them yeah you can see them right there that's what I'm saying like just just match it up just get exactly the same same brand and everything cuz if it's a Ros one maybe we didn't have anything else or I say we as I'm still working at new but maybe new doesn't have anymore and that's just what he bought cuz it was what was available I I would I would I would highly suggest getting some because I mean you got a custom Loop there it should look pretty check out um what's the name of that uh web page now that that does the stuff that we know our friends that work there um cable mod no no no no no it's like two words like hard Hardware mod something it's basically where yeah see from my custom sleeping yes lro went to Hardware custom custom mod custom mod mod oh why am I blanking on Google it real quick you car I'll look all right for sure while Steve does that um Whatchamacallit uh yeah I would I would definitely custom Mainframe Customs that's right go to Mainframe custom get some nice sleeving um and make that red and I think that's it again you guys are getting better with your uh with your builds they're looking good I'm impressed every week like we we have less and less to because it's def Feb War AKA Deb and I uh produced a new show called master in minutes and basically what we do is very similar to your uh what was the name of the the the gaming segment that we did together face off was it face face off yeah so similar face off that that you get a game you haven't really played before that idea transcends to I learn the game and then I teach it to my co-host she learns a totally different game we both never played and she teaches it to me in minutes mind we break it down to about 15 minutes per game depending on the type of game we've been giving ourselves a little extra time lately because the game have been more complex yeah um it was fun did you catch the last one I didn't catch the last one that's okay we we did uh we did city builders oh nice uh yeah and so the idea was really straightforward we took a game that we never played before that was a citybuilding game and we tried to figure it out without using the tutorials like we can't look anything up watch anybody else play it like it's supposed to be just us sitting down and play it for the first time yeah um it usually turns into some some terrible stream because we haven't actually tested it to make sure it's going to work with our systems we've changed that now we're actually fully testing it before go live so we've at least we at least know the menu will show up um so reviews by Gary gives his full support for it he says the show is pretty awesome and Deb cracks him up so cheers that I I I really appreciate that um Pope 89 says and bar grounds pretty much loses every time and he's actually the the few times I've seen the show you have lost Deb's a good gamer she's really forc to be reckoned with she's super smart too she's a programmer as well on top of everything else and record myself for an hour just drinking and just like blurting out random things and then when I'm when the real me is actually doing the show I have to like improvise and react to the fake me the fake drunk me and how I would actually react in that situation I think that's that's like a good social experiment yes I would love that okay but I'm fortunately glad that you are a real person today and that you're sober uh it's going to be much easier for us on the show for everyone in the chat as well uh so if you guys were wondering about how the format's going to go down today because Paul's gone um we're actually only only doing my half uh actually my half is the whole today yes um I'm not going to have special guests on and then be like by the way you have to spend a few hours planning for the show uh so instead it's going to be like an hour to an hour 15 minute show instead of the typical two to three hour run that Paul usually I go through a little bit low yeah might be a little bit low okay let me uh is are they saying both of us are low just says low all right let me crank it up for you guys really quick all right we're at 100% on OBS and I might even crank this up just a tad rage they're they're going to get quality options soon at some point not right now because they're not partnered yet right but at some point but you have you have some close ties with twitch so I'm probably going to hit you up for for some of that yeah I mean really need to get partnered I know been on it but you know with the trip and everything he's been a little preoccupied yeah so you in the middle of explaining the format I think uh you said a little bit about kind of what we have to to show everybody on the show today kind of maybe the highlights I'm not sure what you you were about to say yes absolutely thank you for reminding me uh so on today's show we've got some interesting things uh leaked GPU images for days pretty much on both team red and Team Green which we're going to take a look at do some analysis and things like that cuz uh leaked photos are always fun even if they might just be rumors uh we always kind of have that that hope that it's somewhere out there they're they're real yeah we can we can fantasize about them in our own creepy way uh and also a new horror game where you can't see is getting is getting uh major visibility lately V okay I see what you did there she visibility like it's getting attention but it's also like a double anyway you caught me in the middle of typing yes uh we've got some other interesting things going on today we're going to be doing a face off between me and Steve finally a new opponent a new worthy opponent because you know Paul was just on a big losing streak there he got lucky a couple times by cheating and then uh you know fate kind of called him out like no I'm champing for Paul so if I win today Paul wins today that is true on his behalf and if you do win it will only be because you cheated so uh now that we got that all cleared up um before I we just Dive Right into stories and stuff I know you have a lot of followers on Twitter and your own social accounts and stuff like that so a lot of people in chat know who you are but for those of you who don't um could you briefly just explain to them who you are what you do sure and and and yeah why why you're here so I was born in Southern California as a you don't have to go that far back my bad let's let's let's do like last let's let's do last month to two months okay so wrap that up in a nutshell so bottom line is is you guys know me from New Egg uh most likely and I uh I am no longer working at New Egg and there's obviously a lot of awesome people that are still working at New Egg um I still shop at New Egg but all told I I've moved on I've I've gotten something now at model price I'm extremely excited about it I'm there sort of um Community manager for lack of a better title because my title actually sounds weird it's Community there I was peeking out all right so congratulations on your new buy thank you uh be safe on the road wear your gear uh but let's talk about some news so first off let's talk about these leaked Hardware images of some video cards starting off with the gtx980ti I'm going to switch over here to our story because this is what I do now that Paul's gone I'm actually in charge of this now you should all be very scared and concerned um thank you uh so yeah there are some first photos leaked of this video card here's a look at it from our good friends at videoc cards.com of course sorry there's cars driving by the window that was noisy uh but yeah this is featuring The same shroud as the Titan X as you can see from the picture um except it's not the same color so looking at a different color uh and it's got the same power connectors as well as the Titan X that's one six pin and one eight pin connector um so very a lot of similarities here uh also the the video outputs are the same with dual link DV HDMI and you get three fullsize display ports as well uh there's no no no back plate I can scroll down here you can take a look at the PCB uh it is black kind of got that black glossy finish um and uh yeah I feel like I feel like these cards these high-end cards from Nvidia should really have um back plates yeah I agree or or or like or like maybe the option to get a customized one with like your gamertag on that could be it they might just be selling it uh separately yeah but uh six gabt of memory uh instead of the 12 and uh what is it two yeah 2,816 Cuda cor versus 3072 yep so there's there a nice chart that video cards.com put together uh between the Titan X 980ti and the 980 you can see pretty much across the board Titan X shares the same specs with the 980ti except just like Steve said uh there's half the the frame buffer so you're actually getting six only six gigs um which is stilling amount that's important yes exactly same memory bus uh same so same memory bandwidth and all that uh you are getting the same clock speed there were some rumors there in the early coming months that uh or the earlier months that that clock speed was either going to be faster some people were saying it was going to be slower um it's exactly the same uh and and this is all just according to speculation this is an official word from Nvidia this is all hearsay but um you know Jensen didn't call you no he didn't well actually he did but I I was on the phone with the president oh man you got to take the president had to reject you know what I mean he's Obama's getting me like 2 980 TI soy should be giving you like g6s and like air like not Air Force One cuz he has to be on that but like he just be sending you military crap he offered me the G6 and I took the 980ti instead such a nice guy yeah uh but there you guys have it um I think this is pretty sound like this makes sense to me that Nvidia is not going to have a brand new reference cooler for the 98 TI um perhaps we'll see a new cooler new reference cooler for the Next Generation um but uh yeah you guys let me know what you think in the chat do you think this is true or false I I think what's more interesting is the actual next leak um which is the the Radeon oh before you skip on that I actually think this is perfect I think that I think that they need the the 980 TI to exist to to be a go between between the Titan X and the 980 uh it fits a good point and it's not going to be faster than it makes way more sense the way they did it I mean when the Titan came out and it was just a monster in terms of gaming performance you knew it was going to be different than the prior versions of the Titans and that also eluded to the 980 TI being different exactly um and and also there's it's rumored that the 98 TI is going to launch a bit sooner than originally anticipated just to coincide with computex actually it could launch as early as next week you know in just a few days um and that's basically because AMD has their whole 300 series uh you know that's the unofficial name of what what we're calling it for reference um but I think just to take the wind out of AMD sales a bit I think Nvidia is trying to push their 980ti uh to compete with it right the b in Taiwan so Paul let us know you're there or you will be there in a few days yes grab me 98 TI if you're there if you can uh so here are some more leaked images uh this time of the potential Flagship card from AMD and I think this one looks a lot more interesting CU it's a design we haven't seen before yeah um and it's really cool looking uh it's got kind of like this nice um textured back plate or I wouldn't say it's a textured but it's it looks like rubbery in a way over this chrome finish uh it just looks really nice but even more interesting is the stock photo and these were released by chip chip.com also known for their uh rumor rumor stuff and I know you said back play but I knew what you meant it was the face oh yeah the face sorry the face it looks like it's it's more of a plate on the face of of the card I like the way it looks as you can see there's no fan instead uh they're going to go like the 295x2 route and liquid cool this again this is all rumored uh but you can see the actual uh bar inlets right here at the top um as well as a radiator right next to it indicating that this card might potentially be paired with a with a liquid cooling solution um which is which is cool yeah uh also very interesting about this picture and I think Paul and I briefly talked about this last week uh because we were looking at this picture earlier is that the PCB is notably smaller than what we've seen for many flagships um and Paul says that it's that it's 8:42 a.m. is that where you're pointing at yeah okay cool do I need to is that my Quee to do something no I just wanted you to know he was there oh yeah I saw him earlier okay cool cool Paul's in chat hi Paul Paul I took your seat I hope you're okay with that yeah actually this is Paul's seat so I took your seat I hope you're okay with that Paul but anyway um this is good news I think I think it's kind of cool that uh I I I think um nvidia's finally met their match in terms of like style as far as like a reference cooler they've been using the same one they've been playing out the same one for a year or two now a couple years and I think it's time for a revision but AMD is clearly caught on to to that and gone with something more stylish I think it looks really nice um oh do you know what I just realized what's that the inputs yeah I was just about to touch on that so they're going with I think it's what they're all display ports and one HDMI so you get three I'm sorry that's four display port no I'm sorry there's three fullsize display port and one HDM yes uh so that's kind of interesting um again this is all specul but uh I we keep we keep seeing this uh let me show you the the picture of the ports right here right there this is from wccf tech there are the three display ports and then you got the HDMI right there it is a dual slot card um but again like I said uh the PCB is notably smaller and I think that's due to the hbm uh memory that they're going with um because you're able to stack the the memory modules on top of each other and so you don't actually need to take up any the space around the actual GPU uh which really allows you to condense the size of your your circuit board yeah because you have all that memory around it with all the traces going to it and separation for heat and everything else yeah it's just it's like right there it's going to be cool so I think uh I think this card will if this is the real card it's going to run a lot cooler um a because you have the the liquid cooling system but also just the way hbm works is that you don't it doesn't require as much power because the traces are so close together you don't have to go all around the circuit board which means less power consumption which means less heat output so I think altogether we're going to be looking at a card finally from AMD that can almost match if not top out Nvidia Flagship card in terms of thermal performance I don't know about that but I I can say I feel actually the opposite in terms of thermal performance because the GPU will now be the the new that that thing will be generating heat on its own and on top of that it has to heat it has to transmit heat through the memory to cool it off so it's not like it has any other way to just cool it off as before um it's kind of it it's it's that's a huge engineering feat that amd's um yeah Engineers have had to solve I mean it's awesome I mean it probably won't be if it's super efficient then they have to worry less about heat but either way you're still you're still basically using the memory as Tim that is that is now uh how you have to transmit heat so obviously the memory now is going to have to be really resilient to that um and it will never get as cool as you can get the memory you'll never get the GPU that cool so the the temperature sensors and everything else you'll probably have sensors maybe midpoint to show the memory temp as well as GPU temp it's going to be wild man I can't wait to see what they do they probably had to use U liquid cooling just to make sure that it was a constant uh uh uh stream of of heat being taken off those that GPU and memory that's I just can't wait to see how it works to be honest like I want to pop the lid off and see what they've actually done how the cooling system is different based on the new hbm architecture or the new hbm uh engineering so that's really cool uh also let us know in chat this one I feel like is a bit more 50/50 in terms of rumor versus reality um I feel like it could have easily been faked you know I'm not too surprised with the 980 TI reference cooler but let us know in chat if you think this is the real deal or if someone's bluffing here uh because I I I hope it's real like I said I like we like fantasizing about rumors to see if they're true or not um but let us know in the chat very interesting stuff uh also uh moving on we've got some issues with uh the the uh Witcher 3 and the the performance the AMD cards speaking of AMD cards uh have been having lately with the game due to things like Nvidia Gameworks and Hair Works and stuff what I really like about this article is is clearly uh Punk poets actually wrote it you can see the image on the upper left apparently Steve thinks that this guy looks like Punk poet if you control uh scroll up you can really zoom in there and get a good I feel like Punk poets is is a bit sharper looking even though he doesn't like beer I no problem with Archie pareas I I'm just I'm just I'm screwing around with with h Punk poets if he's still there if he's in chat I hope he is uh that is that is funny that is funny too I think he's got a fuller beard guy probably and he's Australian he doesn't look as upset as as um Archie does that's true this guy looks like he just woke up yeah he's just like all right I'll take a picture of my stupid thing and then I'm going to get back to writing again just write this I'm good at uh you're welcome Punk that was a point for you and a point for me uh so all right just briefly recap you probably heard a little bit about what was going on with uh with like AMD systems that weren't performing very well with Witcher 3 because Nidia had all this proprietary uh technology that they were working with the devs on that they weren't allowed that they weren't sharing with uh AMD so there wasn't much optimization there uh and even and even um like older uh GeForce cards like Kepler Kepler wasn't performing nearly as well as it should have been on Witcher 3 as well uh but that's for different reasons that's because there was some controversy about Nvidia possibly uh like cutting it short cutting the performance short on purpose just to boost up the the market appeal phrase that maybe it's not they're cutting it short maybe it's they're spending all their time on the current gen and then they'll start working on Kepler later potentially I I have no idea literally that the is the rumor that they are literally intentionally uploading a driver that is now worse than kep's standard driver two drivers ago or a driver ago there's there's all it's all speculation so but I mean that that is one of the theories the other theory is um like you said that they just have been spending all their time on Maxwell that they haven't given kep any time anytime to Kepler which is still wrong it's just as wrong because you shouldn't buy a card and two years later it be outdated I just don't want to play a game that I can't play on a card I bought a year and a half ago two years ago what like that's that's my thing as long as the game is playable now if we're talking about like I'm losing 20% performance that I could be getting this is like the way I've always seen Nvidia or anybody else like like you you just always I'll be sitting there with my my 2-year-old car going oh there's a new up a new driver update cool oh there's like 15% increase here 10% increase here oh they're all for not my GPU oh that's how it's always been like I don't feel I don't feel neglected but if it was like we have a bug a problem and it's directly related to your driver and you're not solving it now I'm pissed off now I'm pissed exactly exactly and there there have been numerous posts of people that you know have ranted on and on about how like their Whatchamacallit like a like a low-end AMD GPU or I'm sorry like a low-end Maxwell card is outperforming a high-end Kepler one right like a 960 or something yeah and it's like it's it's costing Nvidia a lot of trust with their with their users but that's kind of a different story altogether than what this article is talking about okay um we're just talking about rumors in general this is much less controversial controversial it's simply just an announcement that AMD is to release uh a beta driver a beta Catalyst driver that will Rectify a lot of the issues that um their their Hardware is having with Witcher 3 Okay so uh the 15.5 Catalyst driver should be coming out soon I don't think it's already out yet uh and it's supposed to fix like I said uh visual effects with hair hair works and things like that um but an interesting thing is that AMD is also potentially going to add its own uh visual effects to the game so on top of on top of it well I don't know it's that's also still speculation they haven't really confirmed it we just know it's going to be better it's going to perform better but I don't know if that means they're optimizing it for Hair Works or if it's that they're implementing something like their own technology for excuse me for example tress effects maybe they'll just add tress effects and be like forget Hair Works you know just just use our technology we just added it to the game and now all of a sudden your 290x runs like it should that's the only thing like that that's actually I mean if it's all like tactical which I I I hate to think that it would be like that I can't imagine it being like that but AMD just wanting to do a bit more and then being run down with the extra work of not only optimizing it for their stuff but also for NVIDIA stuff yeah I I just I don't know I I think that would be not in amd's best interest even though they might look better to the the public it's really ultimately nvidia's job to fix nvidia's driver issues and software issues not working with it I don't know my my perspective no that's definitely uh that's definitely the other side of the argument that people have been have been going over it's it's definitely a valid one yeah um I just don't want AMD to be caught up because they're not as big of a company as Nvidia they don't make as much money as Nvidia does so they don't have that kind of ability to just jump in and dump money on a problem they don't have that so they really need to focus on what they do well and keep their products moving forward that's a good point um but yeah if you guys are impatient and you've been playing The Witcher 3 and you don't want to wait for the 15.5 beta driver uh from AMD there is a workaround that's been posted by uh redditor fried bongwater yeah um who basically has found a way to get the game to work properly uh or at least much better perform better uh with things like Hair Works enabled even if you have a radon card um or an R9 card or a Kepler based GPU I believe so I'm not going to go through through all the details uh you can we can post a link or something uh or you can see the link up here um but basically you go through Catalyst Control Center uh you add Witcher 3.exe profile and then you tweak the tessellation settings in there and apparently that kind of yeah and apparently that'll that'll fix your problem so a nice little work around uh thank you fried bong water for that but yeah that's pretty much all I have for Tech news pretty uh pretty pretty short on the on the tech news today that's cool man yeah definitely but um some interesting prospects for for the near future um do you have any kind of preference on like do you have a closer watch on uh team red or Team Green as far as their their latest Flagship gpus or are you kind of going both ways I I swing in both ways I love that there's there always needs to be forward motion for two companies at the top of any field and and that's going to keep everything moving in a capitalist environment and and it keeps them always coming up with new stuff different perspectives on the same idea right like so gaming envidian AMD they want to make sure that you have the best gaming performance right and and I love that they're going from different approaches like yeah different perspectives in a different approach right so um the fact that AMD is coming out with another GPU line that is radically different the before I'm excited about that I think that's cool I want them to continue to innovate seems like nvidia's got like their their um their seem to be less exotic their Solutions but just really effective I think it's just it can just throw time and money at these problems that AMD is you know just they're they're they're juggling two balls right now right CPUs and gpus that's that's a lot going on so I can easily see why they'd want to pull back on one or the other and then new new set of AMD uh G CPUs coming out too so like rumored but like of course that'd be awesome either way like desktop ones not just the apus right yep so absolutely anyway um thank you for that and uh let's let's move on to the next segment which is the games report uh we're going to do face off in a little bit I'm going to do Games first since we had a shorter News segment um there's some interesting games that are coming out soon uh some of which I'm excited for and others I'm a bit skeptical uh so first off let's talk about madmax the game uh obviously this is kind of sprung up because of the did we skip or we going to go back yeah we're going to go back to that okay cool cool uh obviously this has sprung up because of the huge huge success of the the recent film that came out so good which was really good by the way I saw it last night with my fian it was yeah it does amazing amazingly shot it's just one long action sequence it's it's pretty intense uh so it's no surprise that some developers are hopping on this opportunity to make a game based off of it Loosely based off of it yeah uh this one's actually from Avalanche Studios who makes just cause cool uh so you might be expecting immediately like all kinds of silly Mayhem grapple hooks but it's going to be a little the this the the Mad Max game is going to be a little bit less lighthearted uh okay you know it's a little darker a little bit darker takes after the movie a bit in that way uh so you're not going to be you know shooting machine guns from helicopters and stuff like that uh but you are going to be roaming around in your little dune buggy type car uh and pretty much the majority of that the game uh revolves around upgrading that car running into things mainly other cars uh and destroying them to bits so that you can then take those parts to upgrade your car further so you can run into more things what about Fuel and like and searching because I know it's open world so like searching the open world for like locations where you might be able to gather uh yeah so there are like little bases and it seems like every region of of the game has like a like a a top dog warlord um with that's kind of like protect held in this base kind of like the the little um Fort bases in in Far Cry 4 okay you remember that kind of similar to that God now I want to play Far Cry 4 I know right uh so massively open world desert game sounds like a lot of fun um of course you can use your vehicle to take out other ones via uh there's like flamethrowers that shoot out the sides you know all kinds of weird little add-ons that you can do Spears yeah Spears with explosives spe explosives I I know that was in the movie I'm not sure I didn't read anything about it in the game but it's very very possible there's a lot of things like that uh so yeah it looks pretty fun there's also a lot of hand toand combat so when you're actually on foot uh you can engage in um in combat that's very similar to like the the combat system in like the Arkham series okay cool exactly that's a really fun one yeah so uh if you guys aren't familiar with that there's like combo chains you can do takedowns uh visualized button prompts to Q you to do counterattacks and things like that uh so if you're into that sort of thing might be kind of cool but it seems like they're trying to cram a lot of different play Styles into one game so it'll be interesting to see if they can actually pull it off or you know if it's if it's just going to be too much to take on for one title um but uh yeah things will things will be proven or disproven uh there is a trailer out although this article that I picked for some reason doesn't have it so if you guys want to check that out you guys can go ahead and do that I'll put a link in the in the chat yeah uh all right moving on to the next game this is a horror game where you can't see uh this is uh from I can't see damn it damn it I need to change it back to the uh stories here sorry guys couldn't even see it ah there we go all right this is called perception and it's a kind of an indie I don't want to say an indie title it's it's from stems from the same developers uh same ex developers from Bioshock and Dead Space yeah um Dead Space being a very scary game so kind of makes sense that uh they're going horror with this one sounds promising as well um but it's called perception and it basically revolves well first off it's on Kickstarter right now we're not even sure if it's going to be uh fully produced I really really hope it is though it it looks very interesting um we need just show them that video to really get it yeah I'm just going to run through it really quick let me know if the volume's okay guys uh they start off with a little quote it's all very it's all very nice so you you play as this girl who's blind she's totally blind blind as a bat well not blind as a bat well yes blind is a bat actually yeah because echolocation exactly so you you rely on sound to help you see anything that makes a sound in the game creates a visual effect so you have cane you have a cane that you walk around with and you can tap the cane and it creates like this burst of vision uh momentarily where you can kind of see in that direction um as if you as if sound's bouncing off of it and you're getting an idea of where it is it's all like monocolor uh what the monochromatic yes you can see there's very limited amount of color in the game but that kind of lends itself to the whole blind thing right blind people that are that blind uh don't see color if you're really freaking blind um I'm just going to stop right now has gradients of blind in his mind and he's just like you're blind well you know some people are like kind of blind you can't see very far people are half blind anyway you play as a chick who's having nightmares these dreams about this this house so she does research she does her research I don't know how cuz she's blind but she finds she yeah you're right bra that's right sorry keep going keep going I was making a terrible joke uh and she finds the house so she decides to investigate and there's it's haunted obviously um with ghouls and ghosts and things like that so she she she tries to rectify what has happened at at this house you know all the wrongdoings that have happened there over the generations and it kind of goes back in time it skips around in in time and things like that but uh it's interesting there's there's actually um the problem with using your cane and other items to help you see is that the more noise you make the more Spirits you attract you're attracting the Dead with your you're attracting the Dead with your sound but you also need the sound to see so it's kind of like it helps it makes you weigh the risk of those two things right trick being able to see versus getting caught yeah now let's say you do make too much noise and a Spirit uh comes to you and tries to kill you presumably um what kind of weapons do you have to defend yourself well uh according to this line from their the developers Kickstarter uh it says while Cassie doesn't have an arsenal of weapons she does have her wit her cane and her smartphone so her her smartphone makes light but no sound that she can see with right great unless she can like play a ringtone on her phone and just leave it and see the whole thing uh but you're kind of limited you're kind of limited it's not like a shoot Run and Gun type survival horror like Resident Evil or something um you really have to rely on running and hiding if you get spotted so kind of familiar like reminds me of Amnesia a bit I never really played it by the way did you like it I played like the demo and it was scary as hell and I I didn't want to we need to get this game going with a new version with Heather yeah we need to do that yeah I'll I'll make my fiance player and if it's multiplayer we'll get my wife playing with your fiance oh my God like rest in peace headphone users um but yeah this this game looks really interesting I haven't seen anything anything like it other than the whole Amnesia aspect of running and hiding not having real weapons um but you can use uh the environment to help you um get cover and to to progress through the levels uh for example like when there's like a grandfather clock that starts ringing um you can use that to tap your cane more because then the spirits won't attribute the noise to you so there's like little strategies that you have to put into play I like that um but yeah I think they're they're asking for what is it 150k the developers are asking for 150k specifically from each person specifically from from each donor uh they really have no interest in making the game from each backer when I first checked earlier today they were at like 13 k or something like that but I'm pretty sure they're they're a bit higher than that now but there you guys go perception interesting interesting interesting all right and uh we got a couple more articles here under the games report the next one being the ENB mod coming to GTA 5 now this is pretty exciting because uh for those of you who don't know ENB the en series is um is a modding tool that allows users to really amp up the the quality of their in-game visual effects uh this so many pun jokes lined up and I I held back I oh no go for it you should just too late because I I should have been like oh cool so it's like a bed and breakfast mod for GTA 5 no Steve not not BNB andb oh cool like you're right it's good that you didn't I was trying to line up three or four but I I ran out of the first one I had a second one but I was like nah that doesn't make any sense a shortlived joke yes uh but that's okay um so basically this an awesome mod they did it for four too right yeah they did it for GTA is really popular for Skyrim still is popular for Skyrim uh just controls a lot of things like depth of field Bloom Sunray Shadows lighting all that kind of thing ssao uh right now this is just the first public beta version so it's mainly used for testing it's not a complete build yet but it is nice to see that uh this is this is going to be a thing and if I'm not mistaken they're still recommending this for single player use not multiplayer at all right yeah exactly Rockstar is has said that specifically um and it makes sense there's a lot of mods out there that have malware you know as we found out in recent weeks uh and you no no no no like it was just an article flying around I think it was the always had I forget which one it was wasn't the whale mod was it the gun mod where you shoot different things up might have been that one it was a popular one like that it's got to be a good a good honey pot to get people to to jump in on it yeah exactly but the cool thing about this is that GTA 5 already looks freaking beautiful so having the E andb mod just makes things photo realistic even photo realistic yes but there's also wait let's play the video I haven't even watched this video so hopefully like it's not like a something terrible get in trouble star intensity you can change things like Star intensity look at those clouds those look better than our real clouds wow that Skybox looks sick yeah what that's super bright so intense well that's a little too intense that's like what happens when you die and it goes Cloud intensity that was like a ambient Ambient intensity up intensity it's pretty intense we need to ambient that up man yes we do no we should not be taking ambient wait what I understand why I think you wrote in the description there I briefly read it that you were recently sold the reference design for like 150 bucks cheaper than retail price which is great I would have done the same thing and of course I would have popped it in as well but I think there's something else you could do you could probably uh maybe score an ACX 2.0 cooler for the reference card uh I think you mentioned that as well I think that's a great idea um just get another EVGA uh cooler swap it out it'll look so much better I think you already know that I don't really need to tell you that um additionally I think if you're going for a color coordinated build which I take it you are because uh you've got you know your your fans on the h100i right here or the H 105i um or is it the h80i it's h sorry uh as well as the blue fan up here it looks like you're trying to match everything uh black blue and black black and blue um but the ax 1200i power supply isn't really doing it for me it just kind of clashes it stands out sticks out like a sore thumb can I throw some stuff in there yeah go for it did you already talk about uh wire management nope yeah so that's that's a Rat's Nest in there man yeah I'd agree like that's that to me I can accept the different video cards you have tons of hard drives in there too I can accept the the different um design gpus that's fine if if the wiring looks clean so take two three hours check out Kyle's video on it and just go through it man like it looks so much cleaner yeah and I'm sorry that's an h60 I uh not an h80 you're right it's pretty thin um but yeah I completely agree with you Steve um there's quite a few routing holes in this case uh even though they're not grommeted you still have plenty of room to tuck away those cables and make it look really nice and clean um especially in the the power supply area I think it could be tidied up a bit uh just zip ties zip ties zip ties all day he say he says straight up though before Cable Management so I'm sure at some point you you're right this is before yeah and this is after the after looks kind of similar though no way look at the go scroll up and scroll back down again just look at at everything like no look at the power supply the power supply is still being routed through it but look up look look where the gpus are and like everything above it it's just it's be cleaner with wire management yeah yeah I think like uh whatever that is like some USB cables or no the the one that's being routed up just just to the right of his bottom card um just overall it could be a little tidier I think the cabling near the the hard drive tray like to the right of the hard drive be tued away to talk about the the USB uh wiring and the and the the sound header the the sound card header so if you were looking at the audio header and everything else across the bottom of the of the motherboard what I have done in the past and it's a serious to do this I'll warn you but if a chassis doesn't have a hole there that you can shove everything through what I've done in the past I've ran it underneath the motherboard yeah and so for audio that causes some inter issues you can do some things to Shield it but I mean if you just looking for cleanliness and you never use the front anyways um then you can run it underneath the motherboard out through uh the the hatch in the back the access panel in the back and but it requires you to take literally everything out of your chassis run the wires around backwards through the holes and then plug them all in and then line everything up and screw it back in so you literally have to do your build over again um but that's one way to get just the bottom lines to just look super clean yeah that's that's actually a really good point Steve um and also the fact that running these cards in s you've got two cards in here and they're pretty beefy obviously um I feel like they might be a little bit starved for air flow just because you have so many hard drives in there uh filling up the cage uh on the bottom there so what a POS one possibility is and not everyone's going to be into this and I understand if you're not is uh is they have um I think zigma Tech makes a an adapter for 5 and a/4 inch Bays you can take three I'm sorry three 5 and a/4 inch bays and it's basically a hard drive cage that goes into those three bays and it turns it into four 3 and 1/2 in Drive Bays so you could actually fit all four of your mechanical drives in that cage and put them right there in that big empty space if you think about it you should make more room you should make a lot more room at the bottom because that's where your fans are the intake fans are and you have a bunch of room up top empty space that doesn't need to be empty you can occupy it so and another thing well for me performance wise I get a lot more air flow if I just put a fan right over the gpus anyways so if you can mod it or if the chassis itself I didn't read which chassis it is um has a um a fan uhhuh it's a zelman z11 plus I think that has these weird fans on the sides that like takes air in if I'm not mistaken could like that case very much but um but I think that it would work already if you already have that you get some air flow but it's just not as much as if you were to just cut an fing hole in it and then and then Mount your own I've done that before with a Dremel right um tons better performance nice um yeah so there you guys uh so there you have it um thank thank you for sending that in uh Michael appreciate it uh but moving on we've got Chris Chris has sent in a picture a few pictures of his PC and I think it looks pretty good for the most part let's take a look here is we're on Chris now we are on Chris oh my bad thought we're on Ryan oh you're right well let's do let's do Chris first and then we'll go back to Ryan copy uh so we've got an MSI card in there looks very nice Definitely um attention to detail with the red and black theme I could he's going with uh he made sure to get uh the motherboard and and the video card as well as the RAM and the exhaust fan and the the bottom fan right there uh all matching nice and pretty with the red and black theme um if you really want to drive that home I would say for some reason I don't like white when it's mixed in with red and black I think red and black just looks good red and black um you know so obviously this is a defin R5 and it comes stock with with those white uh expansion slots but if you could find another case maybe an old case or something that's the only thing though he just needs to buy some expansion slot covers and those are cheap exactly yeah so you can buy some expansion slot covers and just black out the entire system black out the backside of the system do them all in red or you could spray paint them if you really wanted to you could do them in red if you wanted to and it's already white so you have a base Cod of something yeah exactly uh also the stock cooler I think even if you're not overclocking the Intel stock cooler just both AMD and in stock coolers are a little noisy just cuz they're such small fans they need to spin up at faster RPMs uh when under load and it could be quite annoying I mean if it doesn't bother you at all and your temps are fine you're not overclocking then I guess it's fine but if you really wanted to get a little bit more uh thermal dissipation out of your out of your cooling system and even do a nice little overclock I think it could do all of that and then some by adding a nice aesthetic to your rig because you've got something good going for you right now but that thing just it just looks unfinished it looks like you're looks like you're in the middle of saving money up for it a work in progress and you know if I actually read these damn tweets I might see that you are working on this thing no no he just said currently tweet you last week he just said that he he tweeted me last M unless he said something different last week yeah but uh I don't know what else do you have to say about this Steve I gotta agree with you with the cooler um and I and usually I do wire management slightly differently once again when it comes to uh one the in general uh um and then two even the even just the way that the the cooler has the cable kind of going across the top I try to like run it around closer to the motherboard um and then or maybe tie it into a couple loops or braid it you can braid it too and shortens it up also if you can uh don't if you haven't cleaned it off and you're still using the original pad that was on it or not Pad but you know like the the paste that was already on it right taking it off moving it and putting it back down again is not really advised but if you if you do have some some more um uh uh uh material you can throw on there and just clean that off real quick um and then spin it around what you can do is bring the wire closer to top and then braid it together so it's super short and then it'll just be one continuous line that goes straight in and even that would look better than uh than what it looks right now um and you might even be able to to rock that for a little bit longer honestly like if if you have it and you don't care about it then that's fine but this is a semi semic contest like we're are grading it so I would say that's definitely something I would change and other than that tighten up the the cables like the bring them together try and make it look like one thing instead of a mess of spaghetti like if you can if you can make this look like this or like this that that looks so much cleaner just to the eye uh straighter lines too uh with cables but other than that I think that's really good yeah his his case has tons of air flow he's even got an extra fan at the bottom yep I know I really like that yeah so uh well done Chris just make a few adjustments there I think you're good to go um next up we've got uh no not Jack back we let's go back to to Ryan Ryan you will not be left behind Ryan wait Ryan I don't I don't know where Ryan is second right underneath Michael I dock accept the dock hold on where is it run the dock you guys get to look at my little uh script here my little outline for the show it's important yeah it is important to stay on all right here's Ryan's rig thank you for Sing This in Ryan uh you've got an old school budget uh system in here um yeah and you even mentioned that Ultra budget build recycled old GPU and power supply recommendations to upgrade those and the CPU Cooler so again we've got a lot of Intel stock coolers here uh and that's fine but you know at least you have an upgrade path there that you can work towards um as far as cooling goes I mean hyper 212 Evo I think is still so the top of the list as far as price to Performance once again I think it's because the the the label there is probably saying Intel so they want to be able to read it but the cable for the stock coolers once again as far away from that that fan uh header as possible so like I would definitely once again spin that around yeah uh like like 180 degrees from where it is right now just make sure you clean it off and just zip tie the the excess or twist tie twist tie or bring it behind mother and just whatever's there and come back around again it if you want to go hardore yeah I mean I you know it's it's hard to like really say like oh get some sleeved cables for this system because it's such a budget build it's like you know I'm just trying to clean up this few lines that I see I I think your cable Management's really good actually you're using all the correct grommets I think all the best grommets you could possibly use y um you know I I think if you wanted to be a little bit more matchy you could get some blue dims uh you know some some Ram modules with uh blue heat spreaders just to match the the motherboard a bit and I don't know that power supply just looks like it needs to be replaced I'm not sure how old it is or if it's 80 plus I can't really tell doesn't look like it is it is but um I don't know get an 80 plus power supply if you want a recommendation for a and you're still wanting to be budget oriented um I I I've been recommending the CX series a lot over the last few months Corsair CX series really good um who else makes some good budget power supplies yeah fractal Josh budget power supplies not like amazing Primo ones yeah fractal like if you actually want a killer rig in your Scandinavian design it costs some little bit of money they are you know fractal power supplies obviously are much more reliable than than what you have in here but uh definitely a bit more um investment as well uh but I don't know who else makes some really cheap power supplies uh super super cheap EVGA I guess has some really good ones um it's been a while since I've looked at that market man to be honest with you I can't oh yeah the real the real rlp just said EVGA uh they makes I know they just came out with their line of uh they got some modular ones that are like sub 50 dude what yeah like like like 450 500 I mean definitely enough wattage to power Whatever video card that is yeah um if you wanted if you wanted a tip on I don't know if you wanted to replace your video card get get an AMD uh GPU I mean I would go with like I would go with like an r9280 I would definitely wait until the the proposed 300 series if they're coming out like hold off on everything until then in terms of gpus yeah because you'll you'll save some money that's a good point and but and and who knows if they're kind of out of your price range when they do launch you might see some lowered prices on on the 200 series I'm say don't buy the newest ones unless they make a great deal for for you um that's right yeah uh so I think that's pretty much all I have to say um clean looking build it it goes to show like you can still have a really really low-end budget system and it still looked nice yeah because this is like look at how clean there's like no dust no dude it just looks like you've been taking care of it and it looks better than some $2,000 rigs I've seen that just like uh they get dirty man you got to Cle dirty you got to clean them dirty dirty all right there was a there was a company maybe Josh knows which one I'm talking about um like quite a few yeah uh quite a few years ago there was a company that that at PDX line would show up and they had these like little like Zip not like ziplocks but like like packages of wet wipes basically for cleaning out your PC uhhuh and like they were they like dust holding and everything they were awesome Josh you know what I'm talking about huh I'm I'm yeah talk in chat uh but next up we've got Jack Jack sends this into us from somewhere in the world uh it's a little Overexposed the the picture itself but we're going to try to work with it best that we can um first off it looks like you're building in a fantex case uh the enu Primo I would I would speculate uh I can see the fantex logo right there um definitely an awesome case you've got a ton of room to work with uh the first thing that stands out to me is your CPU Cooler in that configuration and I think hey if you're getting temps with uh with the the cooler being oriented horizontally not vertically like it traditionally is or commonly is um then that's fine I I don't really care especially if you like the aesthetic of that better um it really just boils down to personal preference talking about his orientation yes is it blowing up I think so okay as long as it's blowing up you're yeah I I agree it as long as it's assuming that it's blowing up I think it's fine as long as you're getting okay temps uh if it's not I would flip the fan around at least uh to so that you have a little bit more going up for exhaust um apart from that the cable management I think could be a little bit improved especially with the video card um I think that there's like I would route that that pcie cable to the to The Grommet above it instead of going all the way down I I get where you're coming from like it's just a straight shot but it also kind of is so in the foreground that you that's the first thing you see whereas if you were to just kind of tuck it behind the the video card uh to the ground over here um it'd be a bit more discreet and wouldn't stand out as much yeah Steve what do you think no I agree with your assessment on that completely um I like I like this chassis in general though because you can take like I was mentioning before you can take those USB cables and the um the audio header and run run the cables all from that up to your front panel or anything else in through the grommets right there I I love it when when manufacturers do that much better yeah they fantex makes some great cases um obviously not as as good as Frac ones but you know uh to each their own um but I think that's pretty much it uh the only thing I would critique here is the picture quality and um that this obviously has nothing to do with the system but um I know a lot of you guys thank God that a lot of you guys have been sending in your pictures of your systems lately let me switch over to to our faces so you can my face there I am there's your face so I look I look really I look really silly sorry uh I know a lot of you guys have been sending in your pictures lately and thank you thank you so much because it actually gives us content for the show the day you stop sending in your rig pictures the day we stopped doing the segment which is going to be really really sad but in case you're wondering why I might not be choosing your your pictures oh that's a good yeah a quality of the picture itself if if it's Overexposed or if it's at a bad angle it's not straight on and or maybe the side panels on I can't see the hard drive cages I mean I want to see everything so make sure that your side panel is off and I can see the all the way from the left side to where your exhaust fan is all the way to the right side where your hard drive cages are and your five 5 and a qu inch Bay are and make sure that the lighting is good and and there's no dark spots if there's a dark spot I won't choose it I won't pick that picture I'm going to relate this to something you truly understand your computer is that hot chick you found on the internet that's naked and a with a crappy phone you we need to see that hot chick your computer we need to see that hot computer that is the exact analogy I had in mind then we're just like I can can imagine what it looks like and I'm sure it looks really cool but you're not going to make the cover of Playboy with that picture you're not going to make the cover of Playboy that's the point that's exactly what I'm trying to say uh or play girl or play girl or play girl you know I'm not going to discriminate here one yeah yeah send us your play Girl picture no don't do that um so the other the other reason I might not be picking your system pictures is because your your rig is already perfect in every way or or that's true you showed me a couple that were just or perfect enough it's Primo enough to the point where me Steve or Paul could never really offer enough critique or or you know or options to to make it worthwhile for the show so if if you keep sending in your your custom water cooled picture like why aren't they choosing my system it's because it's already pimped out and we literally have nothing else to say you should be proud that we haven't pick your picture you should be sending that to PC Gamer and let put it on a million dollar PC because Paul and I can't help you at that point you it would be really cool though if you did take like we should yeah I think I think that could be a good like maybe a giveaway on on the channel like the you know well if you want I was just suggesting as like cool content because they're obviously sending them to you anyways like here's the ones who lost for this reason a lot of a lot of the notable ones I'll save the pictures directly to my hard drive and stuff so you know just in case I want to bust him out for going back to my original uh uh correlation here that I I made ah ah yes yes although yes of course um but that's pretty much it I think alog together a pretty clean system Jack thanks for sending that in so now you guys know if I haven't been picking your picture you're choosing your pictures uh picture quality send in make sure your rig's not perfect and camera I can't do anything with that yeah camera uh this one is coming in from tuckup interesting name um let me uh go ahead and switch over I'm not going to pull a Paul I'm actually going to switch over this time there we go all right so this is kind of my hot my my hot my hand is getting really hot in here is it swe like it's sweating like this was a clean sock when I put it on I'm going to take it off a dirty sock it will be removed dirty all right it's it's difficult so so I actually like how clean the system is and and before I say anything crazy about it at all I actually have a very similar looking system myself it looks good it's clean clean it's got great air flow um it the the maybe a little bit of wire wire management um Cable Management that I need to do but aside from that it's actually a really clean build um the problem is here jumps out on me immediately is the amount of dust I need to dust my stuff really bad too man so yeah um so touchup I I recommend like going over it shutting the system down and going over it especially those fans dude if the fans have as much caked on um uh dust as I think they do you probably live in a hot area where you leave your windows open a lot and this is probably near that window because it's sucking a ton of this dust in um that or like myself you don't vacuum very often in your household which it's not like it's dirty it's just that dust Falls a lot and you need to vacuum it up in order get it up otherwise your system which is probably on the ground is sucking all this stuff in right um so Paul yells at me every time and and and for every time he says get that system off the ground like when he texts you know tweets it you know all like caps he's never really yelling it but he is like he's he's compelled to say that when he comes to my house there's like four computers on the ground granted they're not all on at the same time but they're like Paul literally gets a panic attack anytime he goes into yeah just put him up he just can't handle it yeah oh oh what for Halloween this year I'm going to dress up as a computer and just be on the ground and be the scariest ghoul or Monster PA ever seen here's what you do you have like instead of um you know like streamers or something Have streamers that are out like this that when the fans like have little fans and they just suck little dust particles in you can see so you can see the dust going in you know God that is a great great idea like big like you know like home fans that like for my for my intakes and just have Heather like dumping dust into me like flying up in my face oh I'm on the ground Sude save me Paul yes yeah he he absolutely has a point though like everything I ever learned about computers growing up was that the dust on the ground is much bigger and it can cause like if it gets into to the the PSU which is the most likely position it'll get sucked into it will actually hit certain components and possibly cause a fire and computer fires are really really really bad they're very uh have many hazardous chemicals and gases that are released when when um when they're burning so uh they are laughing their asses off we must be in the middle of doing this that's I can think of love it gosh love it yeah all right um I think if I were to say anything about this definitely the dust thing uh also the 240 mm radiator that you've got up there uh I I noticed you have the fans up top um you prefer push than pull I I I'm not going to say I prefer push than pull because I used to I used to have um well my my first system was a 600 T and you could only do a pull in that system with a 240 rad unless you did some modifications so I was doing pull for the longest time and I posted pictures of it online everyone was like you should switch to push it's way better it's super you know you're you're losing like 10 degrees or whatever I switched it and I saw like a one degree performance difference which is negligible um so I'm not going to knock you for that because I would always get annoyed when people would say they like dude I switched it like you said and it didn't fix anything um so that's fine but what I would be what I would tell what I would say is that I hope those fans are set to exhaust and not intake okay um just because then you're bringing more hot air into your system as opposed to exhausting it and you're too you can you can have a positive pressure inside of a system but I wouldn't recommend it in this case I I always prefer the two in the front sucking in and then the three in this case in the back pulling out and in fact I like the fact that you you have it set up as pull for this simple reason upgrades later far faster far more simple to just pop on four more fans right then and there versus pull it all off put two or four more I meant two more two more fans in the front right there versus or on the bottom right there versus pulling them all out and putting them on the top it's it's a little bit more problematic and and now it's it's like already in place you just got to pop in a couple screws and you're ready yeah um so that's definitely the way that I start out yeah but I agree though it should be pull on this on this uh pushing everything out yep but altogether uh nice system I would change the SLI bridge to a black one yeah I like that go for one of the Asus ones the Asus you could buy one of those and they look super cool um and they light up and it would just make it cool but aside from that dude definitely vacuum your stuff out I mean not vacuum but you know clean out the stuff inside get a can of compressed air get some dust off like at this point though bro it's really a rag like and and you really want to like make sure it's I said a rag too but I mean like to get the initial dust off like cuz there's so much dust here that dust off would actually get rid of some like the top layer cuz there's probably dust bunnies just sitting there at the point of it and you know get as much as you can and then go in with there with the remember what I was going to say about the fans you're going to want to like go in there with like Q-tips and get it all out or buy new fans I don't recommend you fill our our landfills with these fans or wherever your landfills are but um you could definitely clean those up with a with get it all off with with you know a rag or paper towels or whatever and then go to Q-tips to really get the rest of it off I would say right yep absolutely okay um and just to to verify really quick uh I think what cell processing was saying earlier um the headphones on top I can confirm those are dt880 Pros I have the same ones at home oh wait my microphone I'm tethered all right not worth it not worth it I'll go but they are dta880 Pros in case anyone was wondering uh from biodynamic um you can tell they're not the dt770s well what maybe I don't think they're dt770s because I think they have a different band but that's the exact same band uh and and cushions and everything um from mine so yes very good headphones very nice rig thank you touchup with the interesting name no idea how to pronounce it but uh moving on to Landon Landon sent in his rig he said simplistic black is the goal here I'm just I mean and it is very black which system is this which which chassis is this uh this is an air 240 I think okay so then the PSU is on the other side right okay I was like exactly I was like I forgot how clean that looked and I was like wait I'm sorry air 540 yeah I see the air 240 is the the mini or the Micro ATX version there this is the same uh yeah exactly so I don't know I really like this case I think it it looks really clean um because all the cabling and stuff is done on the other side uh especially the power supply you don't have to worry about the power supply um we've seen this from countless other manufacturers who try to cover up the power supply mess like NZXT with their h440 right they've got that whole shroud that covers the power supply fantex does the same thing for some of other cases um and Corsair does it in a different way by just putting it on the opposite side of the case completely shrouding everything in sight um so I think there's a lot of potential here to look really clean and you've done a really bang up job here Ser uh super clean Cable Management again you're utilizing all the correct grommets in exactly the right way I like how you've kind of put all the like you put your your 24 pin ATX and your PCI cables through the same grommet I think that makes it look a lot cleaner it just looks so flat everywhere else it just it just consolidating it into one grommet I think is is is a good is a good thing to do um instead of like cuz otherwise your eyes drawn to different routes that are going all over the place um whereas this just looks very contained in one SE little section and the rest of it looks clean um I don't even care that the the the water block on your CPU is up down that's the first thing I see though I mean I know how if you're going to if you're going to critique what else could you possibly say aside from that yeah I mean the only other option he had was to to flip it around um and move the other direction or or yeah that right like the best op option there flip the hoses the opposite direction and reattach it and flip the radiator too saying the whole thing exctly saying that terms of my mind if you really wanted the The Branding to be right side up that's a good way to do it especially because I think that lights up so it's even more noticeable in in low light environments I would agree that's probably one of the few things we could actually critique on this the other going to walk away now pissed he's like I knew it I knew they were going to talk about the freaking cooler well you know hopefully he'll be happy now like maybe he was on the fence about it and we just you know he was on the fence about spending four and a half hours on cable management and then he was like no we're good I'll leave that yeah maybe because he knew my formula he knew that if if it was perfect we' never choose him this is probably true thisly why everybody has all those those c those uh those uh um those stock CPU coolers because they're all like oh yeah he's going to say something about the always picks the ones with stock coolers yeah I'll do that and then he'll be like you just need to change the cooler I'll be like yeah I know here it is ha just right in the background that we can't see in the pictur is just like all their custom water cooling like thousands of dollars but they just like swapped it out with a bunch of crappy parts I got on the show yeah I'm on the show genius genius um but the one of the thing I would say here is only because you mentioned that you were going for a minimalistic black setup is black out the fans maybe like get some nice high static pressure fans for your radiators uh for your radiator there and just make them fully black I think if you just did it like completely blacked out it would look pretty sick uh that's the only thing I I'm seeing aesthetically that's not matching with me is you've got two of the white radiator fans up top and you've got a gray one in the back you can either black those out or if you're not super set on the whole Black theme I think maybe having a white fan in the back uh instead of the the stock Corsair case fan that comes with the uh the air 540 would match just a bit nicer with the with the radiator fans front fans as well honestly beautiful system yeah seriously I don't really have much else to say about it uh and and on that note let's move on so thank you Landon for sending that in again love it when you guys send in your stuff next one comes from uh a buddy of ours as well is a cell processing what's up cell I think he's in chat right now um he sent in his rig and I think this is the first time he sent in his pictures unless I I rejected him in in earlier episodes or something but I don't remember REM him sending some stuff in so he's got a a Define R4 there uh looks pretty pretty Define our fory and this is a nice uh shot of the front end of his system um there's a lot going on here I feel I I like I like the hardware the hardware looks good I think that's a 760 in there I think it's matched nicely with the cx600 nothing's Overkill seems pretty well balanced uh you've got one of those hard drive cages removed um which is good because you've got air flow now going kind of directly to your CPU Cooler uh might might help with some thermals a bit there you even got a fan that's at the bottom near your drive cage um that that's pretty much just delivering really fresh air flow to your video card I think that's uh really nice to see as well um looks like you've got an Rog board in there um I think aesthetically uh the cabling even though your cable management um show the back panel pretty good yeah CH show the back panel though yes I was going to get to that yeah cuz I I feel like if you're going to hit him for that this he he had the he had the the balls to show us the back which so many won't and this is super clean this is probably some of the cleanest backend Cable Management I've ever seen yeah this is cleaner than mine we've looked at a lot of backends and uh yep Colin I both agree you have the best back end we've seen yes so anytime you want me you want to invite me to your back end no I'm not going to go there um but yeah I think you did an excellent job we should all take a lesson learn a lesson from cell here on cable management on the back end he could still clean it up though to go back to your point he can still clean up the front a lot more cuz the if the back looks better than the front work more on the front that's why people the back this is almost inverse because usually most people have a worse looking back end because it's you know it's the part they don't see they just add aight out of mind and they just kind of clutter it all and cram it in or they do zip tight and stuff but just not to this degree of detail which is just phenomenal it almost feels like he started with the the back plate and then or the base the motherboard base plate from the opposite side and then let gave himself what he figured would be enough cable to go through because even the GPU it's just like wow there a lot of slack right there came up underneath it instead of going going off over the top yes yes yeah I agree it's cool um teol overall what what else would I say um I think if you're trying to go aesthetically you know I mean again these are things I probably don't need to say out loud but uh having the green uh CX series cooler with the Rog red mother motherboard uh clashes a bit Paul and I have discussed this too like it feels a bit christmy anytime we see red and green we think like Christmas uh for some reason it's just like I we always associate those two colors together there's a mod right like you could pop that cooler off and just pop on like resolder on your own LEDs if they match I'm sure you could yeah like the same resistance or something exactly okay uh just matter just depends on how much how much effort you want to put into it um but overall a nice looking system functionally it's it looks excellent uh and um crappy picture quality though yeah yeah what you take this with like a Nokia candy phone or no he didn't do what is this probably a webcam no maybe than a webcam it's definitely his phone it's just an older phone yeah we're going to get you a new phone still it's also he's firing into light he's he's shooting like his first picture you can see is his window's bright white right yeah I think I think the sensor would have been better off if you close the shades next time and let it try to take a couple pictures without that true and then all he has to do now is just take this this room fan this box fan here and Mount that into your case if you could just replace your side panel with the the window with this fan it would drastically decrease your temps and I think you'd be uh you'd be a lot happier with your overclocks there and you've got the wire the wire management down so the cable management down so you don't have to worry about getting sucked in or hitting the fins just install that industry grade fan you're good to go uh thanks for sending that in cell yeah man next next up we've got Brandon and this is actually our our last system of the day uh and it's the only water cooled system that I picked out it's an Xperia phone so it's a ah xeria phone okay nice well that explains it um so yeah uh again we've got an NZXT case looks like an h440 great case uh you've got some liquid cooling here but it looks like you're using an h100i uh and you just added in your own tubing which is interesting I I don't think I've ever seen that before well Paul did something like that with a a swift Tech but that's that's meant to be expandable I don't know the h no no no he grabbed he grabbed like a um a totally different radiator from something else like he grabbed something and just started to try and do his own work with it remember was it was it um an AO radiator it was AO radiator for a CPU Cooler I want to say it wasn't marketed as a expandable it was a 240 it wasn't expand it wasn't expandable like it no he like cut the hoses I remember cuz we got another one it was like NZXT something is that the crate crate Kraken Kraken Kraken is NZXT yeah I think it was a cracking cuz we had two in the office and one he' already he butchered up and it was for project on it yeah oh interesting um but yeah this is definitely the first time I've seen uh someone using an h100i water block for a custom Loop um but it looks like you did a pretty good job um I think this is is that a pump it is the pump right underneath the fan right pump underneath the fan can't tell oh yeah I think you might pump with some some pretty hefty hoses so I didn't even notice that but that looks a little funny to me I feel like maybe the pump would be better off uh behind the behind the like the the 5 and a qu inch panel off to the right whatever this is uh behind the shroud I'm always I'm always a bit nervous when you when you put the thing that that actually forces liquid through above the CPU where grav above all your Hardware basically all your hardw yeah um and I don't I don't do a lot of water cooling I've never done my own water cooling Loops but I talk a lot to a couple friends of mine that that do a lot of professional work and ask a lot of question certain things like that you know yeah but hey it's I'd also imagine that the pump might like move around CU it's not mounted to anything you might have it mounted we just can't tell I mean I mean really like not really zip TI bro it looks like it's I mean yeah but still it's I feel like a pump a pump should be mounted to something like screw it down bolt it down it because it has think about like it's moving all the time so something like that rattling I mean just having vibration especially because there's two tubes connected to it like easily you could have just you know the the the return tube coming back uh or the outgoing tube I think that's probably the return tube yeah because it's going through the radiator first so like I would just put that over in the 5 and a qu Bay Area that's that would be fine yeah yeah with with the radiator or next to it that's one way to do it and then you've got a windforce card that might be a I don't know 970 or 980 um they look the same yeah they do look the same it's hard to tell but something's going on with the pcie cables yeah I think they're not matching at all and if I had to choose one or the other to go with I'd choose none of them because they're both hideous um especially because you've got that nice 24 pin sleeve cable don't get tired on me Steve I'm sorry you wake up I'm sorry just splash this beer in your face not on your keyboard okay well technically be yours yeah but knowing me it' probably get on mine too I would never waste delicious beer yeah yeah never not intentionally but uh I I don't know I feel like you've got the nice 24 pin sleev Cable in a beautiful red that matches nicely with your RAM and your and your tubing and your liquid so you're basically suggesting just dude buy some some extensions buy the same one don't try to buy it one that looks like the other one he does have them yeah you can see them right there that's what I'm saying like just just match it up just get exactly the same same brand and everything cuz if it's a Ros one maybe we didn't have anything else or I say we as I'm still working at new but maybe new doesn't have anymore and that's just what he bought cuz it was what was available I I would I would I would highly suggest getting some because I mean you got a custom Loop there it should look pretty check out um what's the name of that uh web page now that that does the stuff that we know our friends that work there um cable mod no no no no no it's like two words like hard Hardware mod something it's basically where yeah see from my custom sleeping yes lro went to Hardware custom custom mod custom mod mod oh why am I blanking on Google it real quick you car I'll look all right for sure while Steve does that um Whatchamacallit uh yeah I would I would definitely custom Mainframe Customs that's right go to Mainframe custom get some nice sleeving um and make that red and I think that's it again you guys are getting better with your uh with your builds they're looking good I'm impressed every week like we we have less and less to say because you guys are um learning you're all learning you like these revolver um these revolver uh looking like eight was it two four six no six uh groupings for the um the cable callers basically think cable Combs get the job done and make the cables themselves look good but I don't think the Combs themselves look good but I understand how else are you really going to pull that off honestly they should just stick with clear they should just be invisible like I don't want to color I agree give me give me clear and then I won't see them I'm pretty sure they have those yeah I would think so down the Street there's this awesome hilarious guy old guy that works there I just I just want to I just want to hug him uh he's awesome um we're going to get some wings and we might bring them back here or we might just have them delivered and we might start gaming a bit earlier than we usually do an extra gaming system for me because I didn't bring one I do okay uh it's a already loaded up with GTA V on it um which I haven't played in a while so i' I'd love to dabble in that a bit if you're down I'm down um if you guys are know to join us I will be streaming my channel on Twitch awesom sauce you guys don't already know I have an awesome twitch Channel which is at twitch.tv/ burial grounds and there every Wednesday which is tomorrow at 7 pm PDT we actually have a little show and I say we because it's def Feb War AKA Deb and I uh produced a new show called master in minutes and basically what we do is very similar to your uh what was the name of the the the gaming segment that we did together face off was it face face off yeah so similar face off that that you get a game you haven't really played before that idea transcends to I learn the game and then I teach it to my co-host she learns a totally different game we both never played and she teaches it to me in minutes mind we break it down to about 15 minutes per game depending on the type of game we've been giving ourselves a little extra time lately because the game have been more complex yeah um it was fun did you catch the last one I didn't catch the last one that's okay we we did uh we did city builders oh nice uh yeah and so the idea was really straightforward we took a game that we never played before that was a citybuilding game and we tried to figure it out without using the tutorials like we can't look anything up watch anybody else play it like it's supposed to be just us sitting down and play it for the first time yeah um it usually turns into some some terrible stream because we haven't actually tested it to make sure it's going to work with our systems we've changed that now we're actually fully testing it before go live so we've at least we at least know the menu will show up um so reviews by Gary gives his full support for it he says the show is pretty awesome and Deb cracks him up so cheers that I I I really appreciate that um Pope 89 says and bar grounds pretty much loses every time and he's actually the the few times I've seen the show you have lost Deb's a good gamer she's really forc to be reckoned with she's super smart too she's a programmer as well on top of everything else and works in the tech industry so if you want to if you want to hang out with us I got sell processing dropping the link in there actually sell you got a camel camel uh case that where where it's
