**Unboxing and First Look: Redmi 5A**

We have the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is a nice feature that Xiaomi devices are known for. Additionally, we still have the IR blaster, which is another convenient feature that many users appreciate. The device also features volume rockers and a power on/off button, both of which feel metallic, despite being made of plastic.

The design of the Redmi 5A is primarily plastic-coated, with some metal accents. This is an interesting contrast to other Xiaomi devices, which often feature more premium materials. Moving on to the ports, we have a microUSB port, main microphone, and two slots for SIM cards and microSD cards. The latter is a dedicated slot for SIM 2, allowing users to insert their second SIM card or a microSD card.

Let's try booting up the Redmi 5A and see how it performs. As expected, the device boots up quickly, and we're presented with the usual Xiaomi MIUI setup process. We'll go through the configuration overview to get a better understanding of what this device has to offer.

The Redmi 5A runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9.1. We've also noticed that there's no fingerprint scanner, so users will have to rely on traditional methods of authentication. In terms of performance, it should be very similar to the Redmi 4A, given that the processor is almost identical.

let's just take it out and this isn't that gold color finish that we are getting and we have this let's take this out now just keep the handset to the side phone now we come back to this later and we will also compare it with the red me for a and some paperwork and stuff that you are getting and warranty info and other stuff so that's what you are getting and that and sim ejector tool we also get the power brick it's surprisingly big for this phone and it has a normal charger guys with the output of 5 volts at just one amp not even two hours that is very surprising and sim ejector tool and micro USB to USB cables so let's keep this thing to the side and then let's have a look at the handset itself as you can see this is the handset it said and it's slightly that's very similar to this one I would say the corner are slightly more rounded on this one that's what I've noticed initially but yeah so on the back we have the camera speaker and it surprisingly says made in India actually are not backlit and as you can see the one that we are having right now is the two gigabyte RAM variant and on that one out of that sixteen gigabytes only eight point eight seven gigabytes available so I would say this much internal storage is actually pretty low so if you are planning to purchase this device off for the three gigabyte RAM variant because internal storage though it has a dedicated micro sd card as a lot important for many apps but anyways that's what we have and again typical Xiaomi UI google apps are or pre-installed as you can see and let's just go back this is the multitasking trait that's so pretty simple interface that we are getting and we also have some Microsoft apps that are pre-installed so that is a new thing and yeah some third-party and just accept that apps so again the performance should be very similar to the redmi for a because the processor is almost the same on this one again this one also does not have any fingerprint a scanner so if you want fingerprint scanner you have to offer some higher variance of the redmi phone sadly no fingerprint scanner even on this one and let's just try to now fire up that camera again i don't expect a lot for the camera because it's a basic device and xiaomi is not famous for its camera let's be frank about that but we have that tap to focus but i immediately notice that the exposure as you notice right now it's decent exposure but if you tap the exposure is actually going a little bit crazy you have to adjust it like this if you hit the top to focus but anyways here are some of the snaps that
