**The Latest Update: iOS 15.2**
I've recently updated to iOS 15.2 and I'm excited to share my thoughts on this latest release. As someone who's been testing iOS 15.1 and 15.1.1, I can confidently say that this update has fixed a plethora of bugs that were present in the previous versions.
In terms of performance, iOS 15.2 seems quicker and more fluid than its predecessors. The iPhone is able to handle tasks with ease, and I've noticed a significant improvement in overall responsiveness. The update also brought about some major bug fixes, which was music to my ears as I had experienced many issues with the previous versions.
One of the standout features of iOS 15.2 is the App Privacy Report. This new feature provides users with detailed information about the apps on their device and how they're interacting with them. It's a game-changer for those who want to take control of their app usage and ensure that their personal data is being protected.
Another exciting feature in iOS 15.2 is the Macro Control feature, which is exclusive to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models. This feature allows users to capture incredibly detailed macro shots with ease, making it a must-have for photographers and enthusiasts alike.
The notification summary UI has also been revamped, providing users with a cleaner and more intuitive way of managing their notifications. Additionally, there are new music features that have been added, which I'll be exploring in more detail in future videos.
Legacy contacts are also available on iOS 15.2, allowing users to keep track of old phone numbers and addresses. And, of course, security updates are included in this update, ensuring that the device remains secure and protected from potential threats.
The battery life has been about the same as previous versions for me, but I'll be testing it out further to ensure a more accurate assessment. However, I did experience some issues with music playback, including battery drain. This is something that Apple needs to address, and I'll be keeping an eye on this issue in future updates.
Overall, iOS 15.2 has been a welcome update for those of us who were experiencing bugs and performance issues with the previous versions. With its new features, improved performance, and security updates, it's definitely worth checking out if you're due for an update.
**Future Updates**
As I mentioned earlier, the next major update for iOS is expected to be 15.3, which will likely arrive sometime in February. Apple typically releases a minor update (iOS 15.2.1) in January to address any remaining bugs or security vulnerabilities before pushing out the full version of the new major update.
In terms of what's next for Apple, it's clear that they're committed to continually improving and refining their iOS experience. With each new update, we can expect to see more exciting features and improvements, which will undoubtedly make our iPhone experiences even better.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enWhat's up guys my name is Brandon and today, Apple released ios 15.2 a little under a month after the release of ios 15.1.1 and this one is going to be a much more substantial update and we'll discuss why in just a moment but along with ios 15.2 apple also released ipad os 15.2 tv os 15.2 homepod os 15.2 watch os 8.3 and mac os monterey 12.1 so a big day for apple software updates but of course in this video we're talking all about ios and ipad os 15.2 and what's new now taking a look at the size of this update you can see here it came in just under 900 megabytes on at the iphone 13 pro max of course that size will vary depending on the device you're on and the version you're coming from if you're coming from 15.1 then it's probably going to be a little bit larger but if you have an iphone 12 or 13 coming from 15.1.1 it's likely going to be under one gigabyte so before we get into what's new let's go and check out the build number for this update settings general about 15.2 we can see here the build number is 19c57 and if we go down to the modem firmware we can see that the new modem firmware is 1.32.09 so if you were still having connectivity issues on ios 15.1 or 15.1.1 you could see those improved thanks to this new modem firmware update all right so now what's new here in ios 15.2 and the first thing is a big new privacy feature so if we go into our settings and then go to privacy and then go all the way down to the bottom you will see app privacy report now previously on previous versions of ios 15 that said record app activity and if we went into that it would show us you know this right here and it said that we can save our app activity from the last seven days well now in ios 15.2 we have a new ui here that shows us all the information without having to download it and open it up in another program so you can see here it says app privacy report records data and sensor access app and website network activity and the most frequently contacted domains so basically if an application accesses your contacts your media library your camera your microphone any of that it will be reported and recorded right here inside of this section so for instance if we go into let's just say the weather it accesses my location if i go into here we could see every time it accessed my location down to the specific minute which is awesome and if we go back you can see we can also see app network activity like for safari we could see all the different domains that were contacted and the websites visited an app and it shows all that information down here as well you can go really in depth and see the specific details about everything i mean you can go really in depth here and you really get full transparency as far as when applications are contacting domains and accessing different information on your device so this is a very awesome feature here in ios 15.2 definitely one of the biggest we also get a brand new ui for the notification summary so if you go into your notification center and if you have this set up in settings you will see that you get this brand new ui for your notification summary so it shows kind of all the applications inside of it and then when you tap to open it you can see we have a new look for when you open up the notification summary as well so a nice improvement here in this update we can also now access the hide my email feature directly from the mail application so if you have icloud plus and you have access to the hide my email feature you can now go ahead and compose a message in mail then tap on the from field and you will see a new option to hide my email and it says create a random address that forwards to your inbox so now when you select that it will send your email using an anonymous email but it will send it straight to your actual email inbox so much more convenient now to be able to do that straight from the mail application also new in this update is a very long overdue feature in apple music that allows us to search within a playlist so now if you go to a playlist and swipe down you now see a search bar up top and when you go to that you can search for a specific artist or a specific song and it will show all the results for that so if you search for it and then if you shuffle those songs it will only shuffle the songs from this selection right here it won't shuffle your entire library which is also very nice so again very long overdue but you can now search within playlists on 15.2 and speaking of apple music apple also just launched the apple music voice plan so this allows you to access the entire apple music catalog but only via voice only through siri so this is great for more casual users who don't want to curate playlists and things like that if you just want to ask a homepod or ask your iphone to play music and that's it then you can do that with this voice plan for five dollars a month as opposed to ten dollars a month for the entire the full-fledged apple music plan we also get access to the digital legacy program and legacy contacts with ios 15.2 so we go into our settings and then go to the icloud section and then to password and security and then close to the bottom you will see legacy contact and it says a legacy contact is someone you trust to have access to the data in your account after your death so if you tap on that this is where you will be able to access your contact list and select contacts that you want to be able to access your data after you pass away so not really something you want to think about but something you should strongly consider setting up just in case an accident were to happen you want to make sure that certain people will have access to your data because a lot of times even when people die the parents will not be granted access to that person's information even if you go to court i've seen multiple cases of that so you may want to set this up if you you know care about having your data passed down to somebody else another big new privacy feature inside of ios 15.2 is related to kids so this is the communication safety feature for the messages application so if we go into our settings here and then go down to screen time and then go down to one of our family members you can see here we have brandon jr if we tap on that and if we go down to the bottom here you will see or close to the bottom you will see communication safety so this is new in this update and if you tap on this you can see it shows sensitive photos and messages and you have a kill switch to turn that on or off so it says messages can detect nude photos before they're sent or viewed on your child's device and provide guidance and age-appropriate resources to help them make a safe choice apple does not have access to the photos so this is very important if you do have somebody you know a kid and they have access to a phone without limitations or without a ton of limitations this is definitely something you want to consider turning on and to give a little bit more context on that if your child sends or receives an inappropriate photo the image is going to be blurred and the child is going to be warned about the content and offered you know a way to contact somebody they trust or for help so it's very awesome and keep in mind this is not csam this is something that has been enabled to run and doesn't scan you know icloud photos csm detection has been delayed and definitely by apple so this is just going to be a communication safety feature not csam again apple does not have access to the photos we also have some changes to the emergency sos feature so if we go to our settings and then down to emergency sos if we compare this to ios 15.1.1 on the left you can see we have multiple changes so now it says call withhold instead of call with side button and then instead of auto call it now says call with five presses so not only has the verbiage changed but also we now have an eight second countdown before placing an emergency call instead of just a three second countdown so you'll be a lot less likely to accidentally call emergency services after this new update now one of my favorite features in this update is exclusive to the iphone 13 pro and 13 pro max so if you have a 13 pro or 13 pro max and you go into the camera application you will see when you get close to an object you will get a new toggle down in the bottom left that's called the macro control toggle so you can turn that on or off straight from the camera application now to enable that you do need to go into settings and then to camera and then if you scroll all the way down to the bottom you will see macro control so it says show camera control for automatically switching to the ultra wide lens to capture macro photos and videos so you want to turn that on and you will be able to access the macro control in the bottom left hand corner when you get close to an object so it's really convenient now to be able to turn that off i like turning it off especially when i'm recording videos that way it does not completely mess up my video and try to go into macro mode when i don't want it to so that's nice you also have the option to preserve that setting as well if you want it to remain at what it was set at last time so it will preserve that setting if you enable it right there also new in 15.2 we now get a parts and service history section inside of settings general about so you will see here it shows parts and service history and it shows that the battery and camera were replaced using genuine apple parts now if they were not using genuine apple parts it would show this right here unknown parts which is great if you buy iphone second hand and you want to make sure that if something was replaced you want to make sure it was using a genuine apple parts and now you can see that straight from settings on the iphone now keep in mind you can only see if the battery has been replaced for the iphone 10r 10s and 10s max for the iphone 11 and 12 you can see whether or not the battery or the display have been replaced and then for the iphone 12 and 13 you can see the battery display and camera whether or not those have been replaced with genuine apple parts or not so again an excellent feature for buying second-hand iphones we also have some changes inside of the stocks application so now inside of stocks you can see right underneath of the ticker you can see there shows apple but under here it shows that it's in usd and also shows the stock exchange that's on so it shows nasdaq and usd whereas before on ios 15 and 15.1.1 it doesn't show any of that down there and then also for the chart view you can see we now have a year-to-date chart view right here so before we could only do one year not year to date so that's also a nice addition here to stocks and then if you go back to the main screen of the stocks application you can see up in the top right you should just have an edit button that would allow you to change the order or delete stocks right here and now in 15.2 you have an ellipsis button that allows you to edit your watch list and also show the currency so you have the option to turn on or off show currency where as you can see right there it shows usd but if you had it in another currency it would show it there now we also have a small change inside of the notes application so now on 15.2 you get the option to haptic press on a tag and rename or delete it whereas before you were not able to have to press on tags whatsoever and inside of the reminders application we now have the option to bulk delete tags so now if we select multiple tags and go up to the top right and tap on the ellipsis you can see we now have the option to delete two tags if we go into the tv application you can see we now have a new store tab down at the bottom so we used to have that back in the day but it's been a while since we've had a store tab where you can see all the movies and tv shows right here we also have some minor verbage changes inside of our settings if you have icloud private relay enabled so if you go to your cellular settings or your wi-fi settings once you enable icloud private relay you will see that instead of just having a tab a little kill switch there for icloud private relay it now says limit ip address tracking and it says limit ip address tracking by hiding your ip address from known trackers and mail and safari when this is turned off icloud private relay will also be turned off for this network and then for those of you who use carplay you now have an enhanced city map when you use the maps application that shows road details like turn lanes medians bike lanes and pedestrian crosswalks for supported cities also when your phone powers off you now have access to find my for up to five hours after going into power reserve mode so basically once your phone either dies a battery or gets turned off you can still locate it inside of the find my application for up to five hours and then for ipad os we get all of those features i just mentioned in addition to a new feature if we go into our settings here and then if we go into general and then down to gestures you can see right here that we have corner gestures and it says allow finger to swipe from corner and you could select either the left corner or right corner and it could either do a screenshot or a quick note or you could turn it off so this used to require an apple pencil but now you can do it just from your finger so now if we swipe from the bottom right you can see we have a quick note right there if we swipe from the bottom left you can see we just took a screenshot so this is awesome i'll be using this a lot on my ipad now moving on to some bug fixes here in ios 15.2 we have a few of them so you can see here the first one is siri may not respond while voiceover is running and iphone is locked so if you use the voiceover feature you should see some improvements there after updating there was also a major issue with pro raw photos before but that has been addressed here in this update so it says pro raw photos may appear overexposed when viewing in third party photo editing apps so this happened to me with photoshop and a lot of other people had issues as well so that has been addressed if you shoot videos or shoot photos rather in pro raw format home kit scenes that include a garage door may not run from carplay when your iphone is locked so now that is fixed for home kits we also have a fix for carplay so it says carplay may not update now playing information for certain apps that has been addressed we also have a fix for the iphone 13 models when it came to video streaming apps not loading content so that has been addressed here with this update and then finally calendar apps may appear on the wrong day for microsoft exchange users so if you use exchange and you had calendar events set up if you had them added to your calendar and they showed the wrong date that has been fixed here with 15.2 now we also have some additional bug fixes that apple did not mention in the release notes and the first one was this right here this was one of my major complaints about ios 15.1 and 15.1.1 almost every day i had an issue with the notification center where i'd have these massive gaps between notifications and sometimes they would overlap so this is really annoying and this has been fixed here with ios 15.2 thankfully and then we also had issues with auto brightness in ios 15.1 and 15.1.1 but that appears to be fixed here with 15.2 as well so your auto brightness should work as intended and then for those of you who had issues with carplay you should also see carplay improvements along with the new look on the maps application now as far as remaining bugs go there is a bug with the music application and battery drain so you can see here apple mentions streaming in the music app could result in higher cpu usage causing faster battery drain in some scenarios now i have been monitoring this issue ever since it first came out in the beta stages and it was pretty bad in beta 2. so in 15.2 beta 2 this issue is bad and cost a lot of battery drain but then in beta 3 it got better and then by beta 4 it was pretty much non-existent so you could see some battery drain but i think it's going to be very very minor so i will let you guys know in my follow up video on the weekend if this has indeed gotten better or if i do notice battery drain i'll let you guys know what i think about it just because i've not had enough time yet to see how much of an impact this actually makes and then we do also have the siri bug still remaining so sometimes siri's voice will just completely switch up and revert back to the original voice the default voice so that seems to be an issue still in 15.2 and then also some users might still see an issue with the iphone storage not showing the correct calculations up top now as far as performance goes ios 15.2 seems quicker and more fluid than 15.1 and 15.1.1 and i don't have near as many bugs as i did on those versions because you know the bugs were apparent pretty much right away but all the bugs i was facing on 15.1 and 15.1.1 have been fixed here with this update aside from the siri bug which doesn't really happen to me very often but aside from that pretty much all of my bugs have been resolved so i would expect the performance to be better here with this update i did also run a geekbench test here and you can see the score so we got a 1730 on the single core and a 4817 on the multi-core so some pretty respectable scores there and then as far as battery life goes battery life has been about the same to me as 15.1.1 i haven't really noticed a big difference of course i will be testing this out because this did just get released but i will be testing this out more and give you guys a follow-up in my video on the weekend about how the battery life has been but just keep in mind you do still have the battery drain bug with music so that could play a part and i'll talk more about that in my follow-up video but overall i didn't really see a big difference in battery life going from 15.1.1 to 15.2 all right so now should you update to ios 15.2 and i say absolutely i mean once you update you're going to get access to one of the biggest privacy features on the iphone with the app privacy report you're going to get you know a lot of other awesome features like the macro control feature for the iphone 13 pro you're going to get the new notification summary ui you're going to get the new music features you're going to get legacy contacts of course you're going to get security updates and just so much more and if you had any of the bugs that were fixed obviously it's a no-brainer to update for a more enjoyable experience overall and a less buggy experience so i think everybody should go ahead and update to ios 15.2 unless you just have a perfect experience on 15.1 or 15.1.1 and you don't care about any of these new features then by all means just stay there but especially if you have a 13 pro and pro max you will definitely want access to the macro control feature with this update and then finally what is next for apple so we have ios 15.2 now and that means that 15.3 is going to be the next major update and i would expect that to come sometime in february so probably early february but of course time will tell now we should also see an ios 15.2.1 at some point in january if there are any you know bugs or security vulnerabilities that come up that apple needs to patch we can expect to see that final public release sometime in january but the next major release is going to be 15.3 and that will be out most likely in february so of course stay tuned i keep you guys updated on twitter so if you're not following me on twitter go ahead and follow me that link is down in the description below i will keep you guys updated over there but anyways guys there you have it that is ios 15.2 everything new hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did i would appreciate if you give it a thumbs up and of course make sure to subscribe for a lot more ios update videos just like this one but anyways guys thanks again for watching and i'll see you soonyou\n"
