Using the Virtual Mirror Tool

To help me choose from the vast array of frames, Glassesusa.com sent me several pairs of glasses to try on. I used their virtual mirror tool to try them on, including this pair which I quite fancy. What do you think? I'm going to try on some others so you can give me your opinions. By using the virtual mirror tool, I could see how the frames would look on my face without having to physically try them on.

Trying On Different Frames

I tried on a few different frames, including one with a different shaped frame. Look at this! Tada! These actually fit really nicely. They have little nose pads, which can sit at the top of my bridge. I have a very low nose bridge, so lots of glasses tend to slide off my nose, but these fit nicely. This is just one example of the many frames available from GlassesUSA.com.

Using Edible Materials for a Fake Ashtray

Today, I'm going to be making a fake ashtray along with fake cigarette butts. This is all edible because it is fake. Please do not eat cigarette butts or ashtrays or anything found in an ashtray. The recipe is inspired by Chef Ben Churchill, who authored this book.

Ingredients for the Fake Ashtray

The ingredients for the fake ashtray include flour, water, and food coloring. By mixing these ingredients together, you can create a realistic-looking ashtray that's safe to eat. The exact proportions of each ingredient will depend on the desired consistency and color of the final product.

Instructions for Making the Fake Ashtray

To make the fake ashtray, start by mixing flour and water in a bowl until you get a dough-like consistency. Add some food coloring to tint the mixture, then shape it into an ashtray. Once shaped, allow the mixture to dry completely before using it.

because it is fake. Please do not eatcigarette butts or ashtraysor anything found in an ashtray.Thanks.This recipe is inspiredby Chef Ben Churchill, who authored this book, \"Food Illusions\",and was the inspirationfor the sponge cakethat I made a little while back.I'll put the link above and down belowin case you missed that video. He includes lots ofdifferent food illusions. The Washing Up Sponge. What else do we have in here? The Stilton Cheesecake.Toast with an egg on top, which is of course sweet, rather than savory.Beans on Toast. So this is the recipethat I'm inspired by todayand it is the ashtray,The Ashtray Pannacotta. So this is what the dessertlooks like in cross section. There's pannacotta on the bottom. There's a layer of lapsang, which is a really smoky Chinese tea gel.And then he's got thisedible kind of ashtray duston the top, along withedible cigarette butts. So this is today's inspiration.I'm gonna be making a few simple changesto make this a little bit more accessiblefor the every day home cook.Alrighty, let's go ahead and do this.So rather than having a pannacotta baseI'm gonna be using browniesand I'm just gonna be using a brownie mix.Dump that in.And rather than using a half cup of oil,I'm substituting a halfcup of melted butter.Which in the U.S, is one stick.Or eight tablespoons. One large egg.Boop!(Emmy vocalizes)I just sprayed an eight inch baking pan.Spread this evenly. We're gonna pop this into a preheated ovenand bake it accordingto package directions. Then we're gonna allowit to cool completelybefore we assemble the ashtray. So, while my brownies are bakingwe are going to make thesecigarette butts for our illusion. So in this bowl,I've got 60 grams ofwhite chocolate melted.I'm actually using thisGhirardelli white chocolate.Little wafers. So reserve one third ofthat for another part.So it's not very much.Keep that over hot waterto keep that nice and soft.So set that aside. Now we're gonna add some orangepaste food coloring to this.Add a bit of that.Let's see what happens. That is very orange. That is not the orangethat I'm looking for.So he says just to use orange, but that just makes itlook like a creamsicle.I have a whole box of food coloring.I'm gonna add some yellow to thatbecause that's not quite theright color in my opinion.Yeah.Drop a yellow, less saturated. So I'm gonna add thetiniest little bit of green, like the tiniest little bit.Now we're gonna do is add water, just a few drops at atime to seize this up.Cool it off and to seizeit up so we can shape it.See, already it's getting thicker.Amazing.Look at that, instantly. So cool!So get our dough out.Make little cylinders, and then use a knife to get a clean endand then smonch a little bit, you know,as if you were to snuff out a cigarette. So these are the filtersand now we're gonna add alittle bit of white to the endsof these butts. Now here's the littlebit of white chocolatethat we've reserved. And to this, we're goingto add some powdered sugar. Now in the recipe, they ask for 30 gramsbut I'm just gonna add a little at a timeuntil this thickens up into a nice dough. You might not need the entire amount. So already this is thickening up.So just working that in there. And we want this to beabout the same textureas the orange chocolate. Now back to this. The directions say to make a small ball.So shape that onto the end.One.Alrighty.So I'm gonna finishall the cigarette buttsand then we'll comeback and work on the ashfor the ashtray. In Chef Churchill'srecipe, he actually makesmeringue from scratch, bakesit, and then pulverizes itin a food processor. So instead of making meringue,I'm going to be substituting these. And these are ladyfingers,Italian little biscuit cookiesthat are super light and airyand I'm gonna blitz them, asthey say, in my food processor. So here's a ladyfinger.I'm gonna break it up into a few pieces.Drop them in there. They're very crisp. And let's give them,(plastic clicking)Food processor. (sighs)Thank you.(machine buzzing)So I've got a really fine sivand I'm gonna sift thisthrough this into that.To get this to be a gray color,I'm gonna add some edibleactivated charcoal powder, and see what that does.Oh yes, oh yes.To get it gray. Now I'm also gonna addsome white luster dust.Just a bit.Give it some sparkle. And to make it really dusty and fine,I'm gonna add a littlebit of powdered sugar. That should also whiten things a bitbecause our cookieswere a little bit beige.Push this through my siv againso I can get all those powderedsugar lumps out of there. So here is the browniethat we baked earlier. It's nice and cool now.And now we're going to cutit in the appropriate shape.I have a brand new clean ashtray. This has never been used before. It has been cleaned and washed. And now we're going tocut a circle of brownieto fit inside of this ashtray. This cookie cutter isslightly large for this.So I'm gonna just trim alittle bit off the edgesto get this to fit neatlyand tightly as possible. And now it's just the fun part. We're just gonna put everything together.Actually, this is a little bit thick.Shave my brownie down just a little bit, taking off maybe a quarter of an inch.Okay, good.It was a little bit too proud. Now it's simply just amatter of adding our ash.So here we go.Ooh, this is crazy.I chose to use a brownie mix.Number one, because I love brownies. And number two, I wanted the backdropto the dust to be dark.I want it to be hidden.I'm also gonna include some powdered sugarfor kind of a finer texture.Mix that all together.Move this around a littlebit with a pastry brushand that kind of blends it together.Get some on the sides. We don't want it to looktoo consistent right? To complete the illusion,we're gonna add our cigarette butts.Using a chopstick, I'm gonnamake a little indentationinto the brownie as if we'rekind of stubbing out the,oh, I love it!Park one right there. To make the filter portionlook a little bit more believable,I took a little bit of the white chocolateand shaved little chunksoff and just press theminto the orange to givethat kind of model lookto the filter.Alrighty, my beautiful lovelies! Here it is, the edible ashtray. And I'm so happy with how this turned out.Relatively easy to makeand very, very convincing.Once again, this is a fake ashtraywith fake cigarette butts.Let's give this a taste.First, I'm gonna eat a cigarette butt. Here we go.Itadakimasu!Mhmm! And that tastes like white chocolate.A little bit vanilla, nice and cocoa-buttery.And it has the texture of a candy melt.So let's go ahead andtaste the brownie below.Right into our ash.Let's scoop out some of that brownie.Oh yes. Here we go.Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm.Delicious.A wonderfully, chocolatey, fudgy buttery chocolate brownie. It's sweet, of course becausewe added powdered sugarand those crushed cookies on top,but absolutely deliciousand stinking hilarious.Alrighty, so there you have it.The edible ashtray.Fun little pranky food.I think it would be great for April fools.Alrighty, My beautiful lovelies. Thanks so much for tuning inand big thanks to glassesusa.comfor sponsoring this video. If you'd like to check out glassesusa.com,click the link down belowfor a special offer. Thanks again for watching.I hope you enjoyed that one.I hope you learn something. Please share this video with your friends.Follow me on social media, like this video, subscribeand I shall see you in the next one.Toodaloo, take care.Bye!(light easygoing music)(Emmy vocalizing)\n"
