The Most Popular Car in Every Country

**A Global Look at Car Popularity**

When it comes to cars, some countries have their own unique preferences when it comes to making and owning vehicles. From knockoff models to high-end imports, car makers around the world cater to local tastes and economies.

In North Korea, there are only two car makers in operation, with most North Koreans unable to afford a car themselves. Pyeonghwa, one of the few car manufacturers, produces just a few hundred cars per year and they're all knockoffs of other popular models. In Libya, you can find the Zhongxing Auto Grand Tiger, a Chinese pickup truck that's popular among locals. Similarly, in Madagascar, the Renault Kwid is a favorite among car enthusiasts.

In Malaysia, Nissan's Versa is a hit, while in Myanmar, Suzuki's Ciaz is the go-to choice for those seeking comfort, intelligence, attitude, and zeal. In Nepal, Mahindra is the top dog, producing vehicles that are popular not just locally but also internationally, including the popular Scorpio. The United Arab Emirates is known for its love of Nissan Patrols, which are used by law enforcement agencies and taxis.

In Oman, Nissan's Sunny is a favorite among locals, while in Pakistan, Suzuki's Alto is the most popular car model. In Sri Lanka, the Alto is also the top choice, and in Singapore, BMW's 2 Series takes center stage. South Africa is home to Volkswagen's Polo Vivo, which is a staple of the local market.

In Saudi Arabia, Hyundai's Elantra is the most popular car model, while in Syria, the Tucson is a favorite among locals. In Tunisia, Chery's Tiggo is a hit, and in China, Volkswagen's Lavida takes the top spot – a German-made car that's surprisingly popular in a country where domestic brands are often preferred.

Turkish drivers love Renault's Symbol, while Azerbaijanis prefer Khazar LD/SDs. Equatorial Guinea may not be known for its car culture, but Vice President, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has 25 supercars seized as part of a Swiss money laundering probe – including a Lamborghini Veneno.

In India, the Hindustan Ambassador is the most popular car model, while in Jamaica, Volkswagen's Beetle takes center stage. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan both love Chevy Nexia models, which are actually marketed under different names internationally. In Zimbabwe, Isuzu KBs are popular, while in the Republic of Congo, Gabon, and Thailand, Mitsubishi L200s hold their own.

The Renault Kwid is a hit in Côte d'Ivoire, The Gambia, and Senegal, while Ford Rangers take center stage in Sierra Leone. New Zealanders love Nissan's Ranger trucks – it's clear that some car models are popular across multiple countries.

game? There's no place more divinethan my ceremonial throne room. And because they're celebrating two years, they've packed theirschedule with amazing events. They've got six straightweeks of anniversary eventsand tournaments running from March 1st,all the way through the middle of April, all of them with insane prizes to win. They're even launching their first everclan versus clan tournamentto give show.(chewing)Now, before we get into it,I just want to say thatthe definition of a countryis a little political.I'm from the US so I'm goingby the United States listof recognized countries, whichis 196, including Taiwan.Let me know in the comments, which ones I mispronounced. There's going to be a lot of them. Now with that out of the way, let's kick this party off with,Figi.Ah, Fiji, one of my favoritearchipelago countriesfrom the South Pacific, famous for its crystal clearlagoons and rugged landscapes. Also, one of the best squarebottle water companies ever.As of 2016, there areover 110,000 vehiclesregistered in Fiji, andthe most popular one was,the boat? No, the Toyota Hilux.Toyota has been making thispickup truck since the 1960s.And it's been insanely popularpretty much everywhere. It's also the best sellingvehicle in Argentina,Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde,Cameroon, Central AfricanRepublic, Chad, El Salvador,Eritrea, Eswatini,Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya,Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Malta, Mali,Marshall Islands, wherethey've been experimentingwith coconut oil as asource of fuel for vehicles. It's not just for my pecs anymore.Mauritania, Namibia, Panama, Peru, Qatar,Solomon Islands, Sudan, Tanzania, Tonga,Trinidad and Tobago,Uganda, Vanuatu, and in Venezuela, the most popular car isthe Fortuner, which is a mid-size SUVbuilt on the Hilux platform. The Hilux is even thebest seller in Australia, ever since Ford stopped making the Falcon.Rest in peace king, taken too early. But what about countriesthat aren't filled with rugged terrain? What about a little place called Europe,or as I like to call it,slightly weirder, fancier America. In Portugal, the mostpopular car right nowis the Peugeot 2008.This little thing is asubcompact crossover SUVand it comes with turbo three cylinder,a diesel four banger, oran electric drive train. It barely beat out the Renault Clio, which is the most popular car in France. It's also the bestselling car in Bulgaria,Estonia, Morocco, Serbia, and Slovenia. Now we don't have the Clio in America. We don't have any Renaults actually, but it's basicallyFrance's Volkswagen Golf, which is basically Germany's Honda Civic.Which brings me to Golf's.The Golf is the bestsellerin Austria, Belgium,Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, and of course it's homeland of Germany. And, by the way, Volkswagendid sell more Beatles, historically speaking, all right. We're going by recent salesfigures here, all right. In Spain, you've got the Seat Ibiza, which is named a Mike Posner song.Monaco, you the got Smart Ford 2,tiny country, tiny car.Italu, Fiat Panda.Greece, Toyota Yaris.Yaris is actually derived fromthe Greek goddess ofcharm and beauty, Charis.Cyprus, you've got the Nissan Juke.Malta, the Toyota Aygo.Vatican City, Popemobile.Switzerland, Audi Q3.All right. And in the Netherlands,we have the Kia Niro.Kia Niro.I got nipples, Greg. Can you milk me?In Honduras, we have the BMW X5,probably because it's a huge tax saving.Which brings us to the UK.Do I make you rain, you gromet? In England, the most popular car or issurprisingly not the mini Cooper, but it is the Ford Fiesta. How about our friends upthere in Scandinavia yah.Sweden, you got your Volvo V60.Norway, Audi e-tron,Denmark Peugeot 208.Finland, Toyota Corolla.Iceland, now you might think in Icelandit might be somethingbeefy, like a Hilux AT38,but surprisingly, the currentbest selling car in Icelandis the Tesla Model 3.Iceland generates 100% of its electricityfrom renewable resources, and it's small enough that you can driveacross the entire countryin a single charge. So EVs are fricking booming up there. So EVs are fricking booming up there. So EVs are fricking boom in up there.Latvia, you've got your Toyota Rav4.The Rav4 is also popular in Ukraine,Moldova and Taiwan. In Lithuania, they love their Fiat Tipo's.Belarus, Lada Vesta. In Poland, you've gotyour Polski Fiat 126P.It's Polish for Polish Fiat 126 Polish. In Hungary Suzuki Vitara.Romania, Dacia Logan.Czech Republic, Skoda Octavia.Croatia, Skoda Octavia.Bosnia and Herzegovina, Skoda Octavia.Slovakia, the Skoda Fabia.Skoda by the way is a Czech manufacturerowned by Volkswagen. And as you can see, they are super popular in Eastern Europe.Albania, used Mercedes C Class Sedan.North Macedonia, Citreon C3.Montenegro, Dacia Logan.Kosovo, Dacia Sandero. Now with most of Europe covered, this brings us to a big one, literally.Talking about mother Russia. You've probably heard of this country. It's the really big one thatsits on top of Asia's face. You may also have heardof their car brand,Lada. So it's no surprise to learnthat the most popular car in Russia is,a Kia?At least in November of 2014, it was.Despite Lada's dominance asthe best selling carin Russia for 50 years, the Kia Rio swooped in andusurped the throne from Lada, but that didn't last long, because Lada hit backhard with the Granta.Sounds like part of your body that stinksafter you go to the gym?The Granta, Lada, tookback its rightful crowdas it remains Russia'sbest seller ever since.Speaking of best-sellers,let's start talk aboutmy novel, Nitroglycerin, the James Pumphrey story. It's a fictional novelabout my life that I wrote. You know what another best seller is,the Toyota Corolla. The Toyota roller Corolla,as I like to call it,is the best selling carof all time, period.Since 1966, Toyota has producedover 45 million Corollas. They're cheap, they're good. And that's why the Corollais the most popular carin Afghanistan, Bangladesh,Burundi, Egypt, Finland,Ghana, Ireland, Israel, Japan and Nigeria. And Camry, which is the Corolla'sbigger, buffer boyfriend,is the best seller inCambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria,San Marino and Tajikistan.Toyota also makes a car called the Viosfor the Asia Pacific region, and it's a bestseller inthe Philippines and Vietnam.Meanwhile, over in Kiribati and Samoa, you've got the Toyota Hiace.in Turkmenistan and Guinea-Bissau,it's the Toyota Prada.Speaking of Toyota. You ever heard of adainty little thing calleda Toyota Land Cruiser? They're the opposite thing.See, they're badass. Not to say that dainty can't be bad-ass,but it is the most popularvehicle in Bahrain,Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mongolia,Papua New Guinea and Yemen.Ah.I still ain't done with Toyotas.Barbados, you got Toyota Aqua.Brunei with the sultan livesYou got the Toyota Wigo.Ethiopia, the Toyota Avanza. We don't have specific models, but we know Toyota is themost popular manufacturerin Belize, the DemocraticRepublic of the Congo,Grenada, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nauru,Sao Tome and Principe,Seychelles, Somalia and Togo.Done good Kichiro, done real good.At this point, we have covered118 different countries.Thank me later, we still have 78 to go.So I'mma round off the next couple dozen.Just rapid fire like, you feel me?Algeria, Renault Symbol.Angola, Suzuki Alto 800.Armenia, Lada Niva.Bahamas, Honda Civic.Bhutan, the Hyundai Santro.Bolivia, Chevy Grand Vitara.Brazil, formerly the Volkswagen Golf, currently the Chevy Onyx, which is also the best seller in Colombia,Paraguay and Uruguay.Chile, we've got the Suzuki Belano.Costa Rica, the Hyundai Axon.Cuba, Lada Vesta, and a bunch of old Americancars from the fifties.Dominican Republic gotyour Hyundai Tucson.Ecuador got your Chevy Spark.Georgia, Hyundai Ionic.Haiti, it's the Daihatsu Terios.Indonesia, you've got your Honda Brio.In Benin again, we have thePeugeot 404 and Peugeot 504.Now that might seem weird, but a lot of African countrieswere colonized by France. So there are a lot of Frenchvehicles in those countries. In Iran, Saipa Tiba.Saipa is an Iranian car maker, and Tiba means, gazelle. In Iraq, Kia Frontier.South Korea, Kia Carnival. In North Korea, you gotthe Pyeonghwa Samchunri. What's that? You've never hear ofPyeonghwa Motors before? That's probably because it's one of theonly two car makers in North Korea. Most North Koreanscan't even afford a car,so Pyeonghwa only makes afew hundred cars a year, and they're all justknockoffs of other cars.In Libya, you got theZhongxing Auto Grand Tiger. That's a Chinese pickup truck, my man.Madagascar, the Renault Kwid. How many quid does a Madagascar costs. In Malaysia, you got the Perodua Myvi.Mexico, Nissan Versa.Myanmar, Suzuki Ciaz, which stands for comfort, intelligence, attitude and zeal.In Nepal, Mahindra.Mahindra?Mahindra, they make the race cars.Mahindra Scorpio.United Arab Emirates, Nissan Patrol. They love the Patrol inthe United Arab Emirates. They use them for cop cars. They use them for taxis, and people have been mining themhave over 2000 horsepurrs, check this one out, blow up patrol, this isa big fast daddy truck.Me and my babies.Oman, Nissan Sunny.Pakistan, Suzuki Alto.Sri Lanka, Suzuki Alto.Singapore, BMW 2 Series.Hmm, hi Singapore.South Africa, Volkswagen Polo Vivo.Nice South Africa.Saudi Arabia, it's the Hyundai Elantra.Syria, Hyundai Tucson.Tunisia, Chery Tiggo. That's a Chinese company.Speaking of, how about China, James? It's probably a Chinese car, right?Dead wrong. Think again. In fact, think five or sixmore times and come back to me,I'll wait. The most popular car in Chinais actually the Volkswagen Lavida.Yes, the most popular car in Chinais a German car namedafter a Ricky Martin song. It's made exclusivelyin China and it's loco.It looks like a kind of uglier Passat. In Turkey, the most popularcar is the Renault Symbol. In Azerbaijan, it's the Khazar LD/SD.Equatorial Guinea, though we couldn't finda ton of information about their cars, but the Vice Presidenthad 25 supercars seizedas part of a Swiss money laundering probe. So for the sake of this list,I'm just going to say most popular carin Equatorial Guinea isa Lamborghini Veneno. In India, the number one car everis the Hindustan Ambassador. In Jamaica, it's the cutelittle Volkswagen Beetle.Kazakhstan and Uzbekistanboth love the Chevy Nexia, which is actually an Aveo, but it turns out Chevy markets itwith 12 different names internationally.Zimbabwe, is the Isuzu KB.Isuzu DMax is popular inthe Republic of the Congo,Gabon and Thailand. The Mitsubishi L200 is absolutelyholding it down in Côte d'Ivoire,The Gambia and Senegal. In Sierra Leone, you'vegot your Ford Ranger. The Ranger is also the numberone car in New Zealand. It's been a long ride guys.We only have a couple more countries leftto cap off this list, but I got to mention that we couldn't findspecific information for a few countries. So, I'm going to go ahead and assumethat there are all probably Toyotas, which brings us to the final two.And I think that you probably knowwhich countries and vehiclethat I'm talking about. The most popular car in theUnited States of Americaand Canada is,(drumroll)the Ford F Series,F Series trucks, F Series trucks, they're the most popular.Oh my God.We all knew it was going to happen, but when actually does, when it actually does. What's up guys.Welcome to my house.I've got some huge news. The pop-up, up and downst-shirt was a huge success. Not surprised. It's the coolest shirtwe've ever designed. We worked really hardand hard work pays off.We liked it so much that we decidedto carry it over to a hoodie, because if you think about it,a hoodie is a pop up,up and down sweatshirt.I'm really, really stoked about these.I can't wait to get my hands on one. That's right. It's so new, I don't even have mine yet.So go to donutmedia.com.It's available now.The t-shirts sold outsuper fast and I guaranteethe hoodie is going to go just as fast.Pop-up up and down sweatshirt.donutmedia.com.Thank you guys so muchfor watching this video.subscribe! follow! the end!If you'd like to go ahead andhit that subscribe button, follow me on Instagramand Twitter and wherever@jamespumphrey. follow donut @donutmedia.If you want to learn moreabout a bunch of carsthat we didn't get here in America, check out this episode of the D-list.If you want to learn aboutthe fastest car of every year, check out this episode.I love you.
