The Planning and Execution of a Record-Breaking Minivan Launch
It's time to talk about making this mini man go from 0 to 60 in record-breaking fashion, they're gonna work like good up oh the mini man is about to be mobbed and out all the tracks dude yeah bro that's so awesome trying to make you safe here give you a little parachute taking this shoot off the take off Jamie's SRT putting it on them is so easy to put it on you you just got well the tube in there dude that would be really easy because we have the back support right here and you just well the tube and then yeah we just roll and how I think this it's just then you just want to give it to this yeah cable see like there Shane hold this real quick like see this is it so it's just a choke cable basically then I just got a mountain somewhere here you want to go Amelio go push the lever see this is how it is so it'll go through where this where this is and it holds it so then when you hit that lever watch hit the lever see it pulls it yeah it's the shootout so thought is just choke cable day yeah I feel like that's kind of I've seen videos of shoots that accidentally open I feel like that could easily happen when you're just cruising around you have a pin like this in it because this is a piece of wire that goes through it and then they pull the pin right before you do your pass and before the pass I still feel like like remove before flight and stuff like yeah oh what do you think guys should we put a parachute on the minivan before we head out let me know in the comments maybe we'll do it you know it doesn't that look badass or what that needs to happen huh so we just have it resting in there it's not actually mounted but oh with it on there dude that'd be sick Jamie can we borrow your parachute yeah can I actually borrow it if I put it on bro that's gonna be seats dude I think we should actually do it I think we should do it yeah all right I mean you know that it'd be like the only safe thing yeah we can literally just take the bumper off right a hole saw right through here and then just weld it to the support that's it and then we just got to run a cable that needs to happen it's like the only aftermarket piece you see everything else is sleeper but just a huge yeah if we if we do it right all you'll see is just a little tube coming off and no one will expect anything they'll just think it's for a bike rack or something I'll let's get a bike rack and just dude I should just hang a bike like on it like behind the shoot then maybe no one will even know it's a parachute that would be so sick would it like slide in a little bit into the bumper although I would like to browse the edge of my bumper okay that's the edge of my book that'd be so sweet let me know guys I'm kind of down it wouldn't even be that hard to put on real quick all we have to do is pull saw right through here and then it already has a bumper support in the back and we can literally just weld that bar to it and that's all it would need I think that would be so sick and then honestly would actually be like a safety thing to have I don't have to put as much stress on my brakes and stuff and then if the car ever gets squirrely and you throw that chute it straightens it right out I want to stay in it when you throw it so it doesn't jerk the back up so you don't stay in the throttle probably drive cars if you let off the gas and it knows it's over and you throw it it can pick the back up yeah I've seen that picture of the Evo and it like lifted the whole thing in there so once you feel the chute then you can let off again dude that'd be sick all right so we pulled the minivan off the dyno they went ahead and pulled all the cars in but Thank You Brent for the awesome tuned as always we broke 700 horsepower guys and yeah we're still kind of in a rush so we got to get going and I guess I'll see you soon yeah in Florida yep so uh Brent's actually gonna be coming out there he's gonna meet us he's gonna fly out and then we had a little change of plans we're gonna be using a different car to tow the minivan out there and then Emilio is gonna be coming with us as well so I can let you guys know that for right now but yeah we're gonna head out get this video put together for you guys I hope you enjoyed and I hope you guys are excited to see the minivan go to Florida because I'm sure excited to go so it's gonna be fun so it's gonna be for tonight guys thanks for watching
The Planning Stage of the Record-Breaking Attempt
It all started with a conversation about making the mini man go from 0 to 60 in record-breaking fashion. The team was eager to make this happen, and they began brainstorming ways to make it safe for everyone involved. They decided to use a parachute to slow down the car, which would allow them to push off in just the right moment to get maximum speed.
The team knew that they needed to do some testing before the actual attempt. They set up a test track on the dyno and ran some simulations to figure out how the car would behave when it was pushed off. They also made sure that all of the necessary safety equipment was in place, including helmets and fire extinguishers.
One of the main concerns was how the parachute would affect the car's performance. and it was really cold it's still cold out right now but it was like negative 5 when I woke up I got out of class early and I'm back at the house I've been working some on the minivan and right now I'm fixing to do an oil change on it so I can get ready to bring it over to PFI so we can retune it real quick and yeah so I'm gonna do an oil change I'm gonna borrow the catch-can off of my hatch and put it on here and I also need to get a battery tie-down because we have the factory battery tray I just need to get the little piece that goes over it just to clamp the battery down because right now I just have a ratchet strap on there so that shouldn't be an issue as well but yeah I'm on a really tight schedule right now but we have a lot to do today so I'm gonna get the oil changed on this thing get the new oil filter on there and start taking the catch-can off of the hatch I know I'm taking a lot of parts off the hatch but don't worry guys the hatch will be getting some attention here very soon I know you guys want to see some more of that thing she's just been chillin right there for a while but I'm gonna try to get the minivan up and going for this trip so I'm gonna get on that and yeah I'll see you guys when I am done with that and then I'll start heading over to PFI all right so I got the oil change done on the minivan I also got the catch camp put on I ended up swapping the valve cover off of my hatch and is putting it on here so I have the whole catch can set up off my hatch on the van right now has fresh oil new oil shelter and we're getting some corn right now and then we'll be on our way to PFI through our on the dyno hopefully all goes well and then I can carry on with getting some other things done today and just get prepared to head out tomorrow so hopefully this dyno session goes good hope you guys are excited and I'm really hoping the minivan can hit 700 horsepower so we'll see what happens all right guys we have the minivan on the dyno so I didn't feel too much but over the last couple hours we got quite a bit done on it I had to take the fuel rail off like I said in the last video so we could drill out that one little port and get the fuel pressure gauge all installed so that is ready to go it's right down in there and Brent was helping me out quite a bit as well because we also did change the injectors so nothing was really wrong with the old injectors these injectors that we just put in are the same size but the old ones they had a pretty rough time idling when it was cold and Brent things have something to do with the injectors so we just went ahead and swap those out since the fuel rail was off anyway here's the catch pan I took off of my hatch that is on there now and right now we're just letting it warm up we're about to do some polls see if that fuel pump relay helped with the fuel also we got a fuel pressure regulator on there an adjustable one that's an AEM so we can adjust the fuel pressure so yeah she's ready to go right now we're just letting her warm up got Brian inside you can probably start by giving her some more pressure around 47 so probably you can crank it up a little bit 55 would be to start with all right I'll turn it up something to this guy right here Oh me ha ha what see man sake Eman yeah dinah sauce breathe Danno sauce No 681 681 like and I was like man we're like dude it sounded like it from the outside really the tire was starting to wrinkle roof lining it's really quiet we're like just on Drive no I meant the down pipes open right now - yeah now it's shot yeah what I'm stomping at 4200 that's straight up because before it ran into the 12s and now it so we're coming down the road to these two beasts has to make more do we have enough helmets for everybody to ride down have two matching ones of the house what helmets yeah I think we need one for fire we need at least six helmets we just might fit in the very corner everybody's got GoPros on them like what do
