**The Evolution of Live.pill.com: A Dynamic and Geeky Radio Station**
I wanted to let you know that live.pill.com may be evolving into a dynamic, very geeky radio station as more and more people join the Mumble chat server we set up. This is a great opportunity for us to interact with our community in a new way.
For those who may not know, Mumble is an open-source alternative to ventrillo. It's not perfect, but it has its own advantages. In fact, I've had to set up an automator routine on Mac OS X to start the application, wait 30 minutes, quit the application, wait 5 seconds, and then relaunch the application because I think it's got a memory leak. But if you're new to Mumble, check it out! It's definitely worth exploring.
One of the exciting developments is that we'll be setting up schedules on live.pill.com to talk about certain topics and almost have our own podcasts with nomies. For example, one hour might be for people talking about comic books, another hour for sci-fi, another hour for Lego, and so on. I want to make it as interactive as possible for you all. Whether it's in the chat room or through voice conversations, we'll be exploring a wide range of topics.
I also mentioned that some nomies have joined us after searching for my name on Google. One such nomie is Stacy, who had a great time chatting with me last night, even staying up late to talk about various topics. If you'd like to chat with me and other people in real-time, you can join our Mumble group or set up your own server. I wouldn't be able to join yours, as that's a lot of talking! But we'll do our best to stay engaged with each other.
**The Community is Growing**
As it stands, we have approximately 100 registered nomies, which is well ahead of our goal. If we can reach a thousand nomies by the end of the year, I think it would be a huge success. And as for now, I'm thrilled to be able to give you what I've given you – not just for free, but also special access and more direct access to photos and videos from behind the scenes that my girlfriend Diana keeps publishing.
**The Future of Live.pill.com**
I want to hear from you! What do you think we can do to improve communication within our community? Is there anything else we can explore in terms of Mumble, ventrillo, or TeamSpeak? I'm all ears. The possibilities are endless, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes us.
**A Call to Action**
If you're interested in joining our Mumble chat server or setting up your own Mumble server, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'll do our best to make it as seamless and enjoyable an experience as possible. And if you'd like to talk with me and other nomies in real-time, I invite you to join our chat group or set up your own server.
**A Special Thank You**
I want to extend a special thank you to those who have joined us on live.pill.com so far. Your enthusiasm and engagement are what make this community thrive. And if you're new here, welcome! We're glad to have you on board.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthank you for watching liking commenting sharing and subscribing right now we are well on our way to finding 1,000 true fans uh an idea that was put forth by I believe Kevin Kelly on kk.org a few years back and that meant something to me uh I started to think about uh the community at large those of you who love what we do here with lockr and the content we provide we have been doing for well over a decade almost two decades it's been that long so a few years ago I started broadcasting my home office at live. pill.com ended how many thousands of videos with that uh it's still being broadcast and if you have not stopped by lately you may try it one more time if only because we added a an old yet new dynamic or at least a new Twist on the old Dynamic back in the day I would leave my microphone up all the time and sometimes bring in people by way of at that point we were using ventrillo so even if I wasn't in the home office you could still interact by way of the chat room to people who were moderators and were could talk back to you by way of voice and it kind of created I thought a very fun experience the problem was um you know I would always have to mute the feed if I wanted to get something done and it was very interruptive to my workflow or or I would have to mute the ventrillo server if I was trying to concentrate and think and that would disrupt everything well uh yesterday I thought well what if we set up Mumble and very grateful that kraton who's also a part of our our community uh what if kraton used his skills set up a Mumble server and if you're not familiar with Mumble it's an open source program crossplatform that allows you to have real time high quality low latency chat way better than Skype Gamers love using things like Mumble vent or ventrillo uh TeamSpeak uh I think that's the other one if I'm if I'm not mistaken I never really used that one though so I set it up uh and connected it to the live stream computer such that it's always there so we've got a live interactive Mumble chat server and we set it up specifically for those true fans uh I would say and that would be those who are registered nomies have a lot of fans but uh you know we we can't just open it up to everybody because you can only imagine the amount of chaos that would flow throughout if that happened uh so I've I've joined uh I've joined my Mumble group the private Mumble group uh that's being broadcast now on live. pill.com uh so if if you thought that I wasn't broadcasting audio anymore that's no longer true and whatever we're talking about you're going to be able to hear and we're probably going to be geeking out about uh one thing or another so let me go ahead and ask uh oh I got it hang on I got to jump into uh the room itself how's everybody doing hey Chris hello Chris how's it going Chris so there's a handful of uh our our nomies who are in the Mumble uh group this this private chat room not everybody can join uh because as I said uh that could potentially be chaos uh we're limiting it just to those who have become registered users on n.com you are more than welcome to join In fact when I shared the information of setting up this Mumble chat specifically in conjunction with live. pill.com a few people in Facebook actually considered becoming registered nomies at that very moment uh so it's for people who live all around the world and even if I'm in bed you know I may have the speakers off but chat may still be happening in fact um on my way to get the haircut today uh I I tuned in to the live feed at live. pill.com and could hear people using the Mumble chat room uh and you can set up Mumble on your own too don't think that is just for me you can download it at for free at mumble.rap .n net if I'm not mistaken so uh you know it's it's something that uh I'm adding value on a I would say a consistent or regular basis uh with you know any luck I'll be able to open up the Mumble chat maybe later on in tldr broadcast to potentially take questions and interactions from the audience if I want to ask the nomies a question instead of them just answering in the chat room or or you in the YouTube video feed uh to be able to uh bring them in by way of voice and interact with the I guess the greater part of our community see there's there's there's a great part of our community and a greater part of our community bottom line I do believe we do have a great community so if anything I wanted to let you know that live. pr.com may be evolving into a dynamic very geeky radio station as more and more people join uh the Mumble chat server uh that we set up and if nothing else if you did not know that Mumble was an open source alternative to ventrillo check it out I I love using it uh it's not perfect um in fact I have to set up uh using an automator routine on Mac OS 10 a way to start the application wait 30 minutes quit the application wait 5 Seconds relaunch the application because I think it's got a memory leak uh but if you've never heard of Mumble before check it out and maybe maybe you have before maybe you're more of a vent type of person uh maybe you are a uh uh is it was it TeamSpeak you wouldn't know I'm sorry honey I didn't mean to she she's she's she's bringing me Mumble juice and believe me if I have enough of this that's exactly what I'll be doing law laggy chat is laggy podcast on iTunes uh so it's interesting if we get enough nomies registered signed up and using this Mumble chat room there is a distinct possibility that throughout the day and potentially night we'll be able to set up like schedules on live. pur.com uh to talk about certain topics and almost have our own podcasts with nomies like one hour maybe you know people talking about comic books another hour maybe people talking about sci-fi another hour maybe people talking about Lego another hour maybe people talking about Macs another hour may be Linux another hour maybe PCS another hour maybe windows I mean really I'm giving I'm I'm opening this up as much as I possibly can uh to you and allowing you to I guess play along and I'm very very happy to see how how well this was received one of the nomies joined after I think he searched for my name on Google after remembering me from tech TV Stacy is his name uh and he had a total blast in fact we kept him up late last night uh talking in the chat room talking literally just talking and uh so if you would like to talk with me and other people uh like in in real time you can join our chat uh group The Nomi chat group or set up your own Mumble server I I I wouldn't necessarily be able to uh to join yours because that's a lot of talking uh Stones kickers on YouTube says one hour could be Vista that would be a very short or very long hour uh how many nomies are there uh thank you Paul crof 77 for asking that again on YouTube pay attention to as many of you as I can um we are we have approximately 100 registered
