The Hatch Hits The Dyno!

The Development and Testing of a Highly Modified Civic Engine

In this latest project, a highly modified Honda Civic engine was taken to new heights with the installation of various components designed to increase power output. The engine was first tuned using a manifold that allowed for better airflow, which resulted in an increase in horsepower. The engine's power output was further enhanced by a boost setup that gradually increased power as RPMs climbed higher into the fourth gear.

The testing process began on a dyno, where the engine's performance was fine-tuned and the boost setup was adjusted to optimize its effectiveness. The engine's power output was closely monitored during this phase, with the goal of achieving high horsepower numbers without sacrificing reliability or causing any issues. After several iterations of tuning and adjustment, the engine finally reached its maximum potential.

One notable aspect of the testing process was the need for a new battery that could handle the increased power requirements. The old battery was unable to keep up with the demands placed upon it, resulting in erratic behavior and eventually leading to a failure. A new battery was installed, which allowed the engine to run smoothly and consistently throughout the testing process.

The final results of the tuning were impressive, with the engine producing 648 horsepower at the wheels in fourth gear. This is an incredible feat for a car of its size and weight, and it speaks to the expertise and dedication of the team behind this project. Despite being able to push the engine to new heights, the team was careful not to overdo it, recognizing that excessive power can be difficult to handle on the street.

The testing process also revealed some interesting issues with the engine's management system. The battery light began to flicker as the boost setup kicked in, indicating a potential problem with the voltage being supplied to the system. The team was able to identify and address this issue through careful tuning of the injectors and fuel pump, ensuring that the engine could run smoothly and consistently throughout its testing phase.

Once the testing process was complete, the car was prepared for street use, with the installation of new tires and a fresh coat of paint. A roll cage will also be added to ensure the safety of the driver in the event of an accident. The team is now looking forward to putting their creation on the road and taking it out for a spin, with plans to participate in various racing events and track days.

The final product is a testament to the skills and expertise of the team behind this project, and it's sure to be a head-turner wherever it goes. With its impressive power output and sleek design, this car is poised to make a big impact on the motoring world.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enalright guys so today I'm going to try to get the hatch on the dyno so as you can see I got the pumper on there and a couple things that I did not film but I did get done I did get my radiator support welded up like up under here under the bumper for those of you who know what I'm talking about so this is all nice and solid now and I got another hood pin on this side so my hoods not trying to lift up on me got my hood latch back on and just pretty much got it ready to go I mean just got the bumper on and those things welded on but I should be good enough to take it over to the dyno so I'm going to go ahead over to psi right now and hopefully we can make some power 57 forty away from 400 I really yeah yeah she was spinner you got my red hatch on the dyno there just over here helped me out with my brake booster line because if you guys remember or not I had this line right here on this back plug and it was completely loose and we had it held on with zip ties so we went ahead and plug the Sakhalin completely and we're just going off a different fitting on the front and that should work just fine and then pretty much all I need and hopefully is make some power and hopefully doesn't blow up but we'll find out six forty eight thousand six forty eight sit holy the plan is ratalie fellas get four years 6:48 know if it's ever made right there and that was like barely anything easy forty-eight again 6:48 now I got everyone standing on my car because we're gonna try to stuff the boots like in second gear and we got to get it from from slipping so we're getting as much traction as we can Oh four-fifty in second year battle hook I hope you hooked that's not as smooth they're ran out to 119 a 19-5 I'm a charcoal 521 I saw me moaning over down is what wasn't spinning it wasn't spending at all that time 15 psi South 15 now so made it 521 on 15 psi 14.9 at raising that's just looks when you tired to one yeah see that's sick I'm Ansel a little more vicious 520 holes it's going to move out so is it like gradually giving it boost as the gear gets longer okay so it's not throwing all that load right on the tire so it should hook a little better now yeah love it hope that's the plan do you think you think that manifolds like a little more efficient seems like you likes it more that's like that's like a hundred more horsepower than last time at the halls of the yellow okay with old manifold I made 15 on 50 PS I'm a 450 it was all bottom row just do what it knows the top mount Arbel crazy 6:34 little less than last time but not too bad yeah turning the booth down so we can actually make it hook we got the Hopson now here just pulled it off the dyno we are completely done so the final number was 648 at the wheels let it focus right there so I made 648 and that was it fourth gear and it's actually making I think I believe 608 right now we turned it down a little bit Brent kind of set up the boost by year so it's making like four hundred and second somewhere in the 500s and a third and then the six hundred and fourth gear and then that boost is gradually going up as you get higher into the RPM so that's to kind of help keep it to hook on the street so we did turn it down a little bit but the hatch is pretty much ready to go so there you go guys made 648 and we could have easily turned it up more if we wanted to but I really do not feel the need to push it harder than that that is plenty of power for a tiny little Civic like that I mean that's crazy amount of power so it should definitely be a really fun car and we will probably have some videos of this thing on the street very soon we need very rounded very looks much like going on let's that out yeah stop this incoming one a wheel cooler well you want something cooler than a spare me cook hands-on are you trying to get sponsored by coach I'll be sick yeah you like it oh right oh yeah we just wanted to like you this and we prepared our sign oh but will it work good dead well we dressed up the able not a battery all right Malenko no no I've got jumper cables get cold over here so get going someone drive a car over here just touch it just describe you just watch it - the battery the try when you hook the haywire yeah closer don't cut them yet we're using the card the car battery instead what yep that wasn't bad we need to shoot the quart of oil portable well we can hike we need to get some distance with this bad boy Oh now one went by ha ha ha ha the camera barely picked it up at the end there is it yeah I went all hi I'm dick the imagine if we angle the more my victim like their bedrock you can still use it didn't even hurt it so full pasteurized literally thanks again Brent like always always this is always fun over here I'm gonna do a little poll for you guys is the camera shaking on anyone to hold it so it's kind of messy right now but I'm a starting third year kinda lame JMO you now people walk or derailleurs spots out of the room we've got a biker set up pretty good cause we spend pretty much good to go to be ripping a breeze so yeah so I just got back to her bow still spinning let it cool off but as you can see she does pretty good so we made nearly 650 wheel horsepower and boost I gear set up pretty good hopefully that video I'm not one cool good enough so you guys can at least kind of hear how good it looks and it definitely moved so she's back up and running and some things I still need to do obviously I need the roll cage before I die and probably gonna give her an oil change still need to cut this wire but kind of add some class so I don't really give a and another problem we did have on this dyno that I didn't mention the battery light was starting to come on it was flickering and when it was getting up there like in the boost in the duty cycle on the injectors I was losing some voltage so he kind of had to compensate for that in turn the injectors up because they weren't getting the fuel pump wasn't delivering is much fuel for some reason so there's a chance like my alternator could be slipping or something but I might need to get that looked into but for right now is it's running pretty good so definitely just gonna give it an oil change and that's pretty much it and probably get some new tires soon because my Mickey Thompson's are getting pretty chewed up they're almost completely bald so did any of a couple things but she's ready to go to Mexico so hopefully we can get some races in here pretty soon but ya got the hatch up and running so stay tunedalright guys so today I'm going to try to get the hatch on the dyno so as you can see I got the pumper on there and a couple things that I did not film but I did get done I did get my radiator support welded
