**Unreal Air: A Revolutionary Gaming Experience**
I've had the pleasure of testing Unreal Air, a pair of innovative glasses that have taken my gaming experience to a whole new level. At GDC 2023, I had the opportunity to try out this technology and I must say, it's hard to go back to playing on my Switch after experiencing the thrill of Unreal Air.
The first thing that struck me was the large screen everywhere I play. With Unreal Air, I can enjoy a massive 130-inch screen in front of me, regardless of where I am or what device I'm using. This is a game-changer for gamers who love to immerse themselves in their games. The switch from my Switch to Unreal Air has been seamless, and I've found myself wanting a large screen everywhere I go.
One of the benefits of playing on Unreal Air is its impact on posture. On my Switch or Steam Deck, I often find myself hunched over, straining my neck muscles. But with Unreal Air, I can lean back or lie down without worrying about looking at a small screen. This has made a huge difference in reducing neck pain and discomfort.
Unreal Air is available in Asia and Europe, but it recently made its way to the US via Amazon, retailing for $3.79. The adapter is an additional $59. For those interested, Unreal also offers another pair of glasses called Unreal Light, which comes with a built-in game called "In Wonder" that's an augmented reality experience.
Playing In Wonder was truly immersive and allowed me to navigate around a 3D space like never before. This is in stark contrast to traditional gaming on my Switch or Xbox, where I'm stuck playing in a 2D space. With Unreal Air, I can move around objects, see things around me, and connect to a PC or Mac using the companion app Nebula.
Nebula for Android offers an almost smart TV-like interface with plenty of apps and widgets at your fingertips. You can also use your phone as a controller on a Mac. For Mac users, Nebula provides three virtual screens that are like having three monitors. I was impressed by the seamless experience and the ability to switch between screens effortlessly.
However, there is one potential drawback: compatibility issues. Currently, some mobile phones may not be compatible with Unreal Air, which can limit its use. Real co-founder Peng Jin assured me that they're working on addressing this issue in the near future, aiming to bring universal compatibility for the AR display experience.
**Nebula for PC and Mac**
One of my favorite experiences was playing Forza Horizon 5 on a Windows laptop connected to Unreal Air. The immersive experience was perfect, with enhanced three-dot tracking capabilities that made me feel like I was truly inside the game. This is exactly what I love about AR technology: it creates an unparalleled sense of presence and engagement.
The Nebula app for PC gives users a large curved 21x9 screen with improved three-dot tracking capabilities, making it perfect for gaming experiences like Forza Horizon 5. Real's co-founder Peng Jin emphasizes that the goal is to bring AR display experience to people first, before offering more choices. They aim to provide customized experiences, such as multi-windows and ultra-wide displays.
**Conclusion**
Unreal Air has revolutionized my gaming experience, and I highly recommend it to fellow gamers. With its large screen, improved posture, and immersive gameplay, Unreal Air is a must-try for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming setup. Keep an eye out for updates on Nebula for Windows, which will roll out in the next month or two.
As I wrapped up my time at GDC 2023, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this innovative technology that's pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible with gaming glasses. Whether you're a hardcore gamer or just someone looking to explore the world of AR, Unreal Air is an experience worth trying out.
