2018 iPad Pro - Everything you NEED to know!

The New Apple iPad Pro: A Revolutionary Upgrade

This year's Apple iPad Pro has undergone significant changes, making it even more desirable to potential buyers. The most notable change is the reduction in size of the chassis, which is a welcome move for those who have struggled with previous models being too bulky. In fact, both models - 11-inch and 12.9-inch - have seen a whopping 25% decrease in volume compared to last year's designs. This reduction in size has also led to the new iPad Pro being made even thinner, standing at an impressive 5.9 millimeters thick, making it the thinnest iOS device ever produced.

Another significant change this year is the switch from Lightning to USB-C as the main connector. This means that users can now charge their iPads and connect them to external devices like cameras or displays using a single cable. The adoption of USB-C also opens up new possibilities for fast charging, with Apple providing an 18-watt power adapter in the box, compared to the 12-watt adapter used last year.

Unfortunately, not all changes are positive. The loss of the headphone jack has been a topic of discussion among users, and while Apple provides a cheap $9 adaptor to mitigate this issue, some may find it unnecessary. However, for those who want to upgrade from an older model, the new iPad Pro's improved connectivity options make it well worth considering.

The real star of the show is the new A12X Bionic chip, which represents a significant leap forward in terms of performance and efficiency. With 8 cores, including 4 high-performance cores and 4 low-power cores, this chip promises to deliver impressive results, with Apple claiming a 35% improvement in single-core speeds and a 90% overall speed boost compared to last year's iPad Pro.

The A12X Bionic chip also brings with it a new 7-core GPU that promises twice the performance of the previous 12-core GPU. This is a significant upgrade for users who will be taking advantage of the new iPad Pro's advanced capabilities, such as augmented reality and professional desktop apps like AutoCAD and Photoshop.

Battery life remains the same on this year's model, which may be a concern for some users who were hoping for a battery life boost. However, with the increased performance and efficiency of the A12X Bionic chip, Apple is confident that users will see improved results in terms of overall system performance.

The Wi-Fi has been upgraded to support simultaneous dual-band connection, while Bluetooth has also been updated to the latest version, Bluetooth 5. This means that users can expect faster and more reliable connectivity on their new iPad Pro.

For those who want a cellular model, Apple is offering gigabit-class LTE speeds, with up to 29 bands supported. This makes it an ideal choice for those who need mobile connectivity on the go.

In terms of storage options, the base 11-inch model will come with 64GB of storage, while the 12.9-inch model will start at $999 for the non-cellular version and $1,049 for the cellular model. Both models are available in Space Gray or Silver, but unfortunately, there is no option for Rose Gold.

The new Apple Pencil has also been upgraded, featuring a single flat side that attaches magnetically to the side of the iPad Pro, making it easy to pair and charge. The pencil itself has also seen some improvements, with compatibility with the new iPad Pro and improved performance in terms of responsiveness and battery life.

One final note is worth mentioning - due to the significant upgrades made this year, the new iPad Pro will only work with the A12X Bionic chip, not the older models that use the A11 chip. The Apple Pencil also requires the new A12X Bionic chip to function properly.

The second-generation Apple Pencil can be engraved for free if ordered online this year and it's priced at $129.
