ZTE Axon 9 Pro Hands On at IFA 2018

CTE's New Flagship Phone: The Axon 9 Pro

As we walk onto the show floor here at Health for Digital Trends, we're excited to visit with CTE and check out their new flagship phone, the Axon 9 Pro. The first thing that catches our eye is the sleek glass front and back design of this device. It's a bold move by CTE to go for such an aesthetic approach, but it certainly sets them apart from other manufacturers.

Upon closer inspection, we can see that the Axon 9 Pro boasts an enormous 6.2 inch screen, which is made possible by the use of OLED technology. The notch at the top of the display houses a 20 megapixel camera, which will be useful for capturing high-quality selfies and taking advantage of the phone's facial recognition features. The dual camera module on the back of the device consists of a 12 megapixel sensor paired with a 20 megapixel right angle lens.

In terms of hardware, the Axon 9 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X45 processor, which provides fast performance and efficient battery life. It's also paired with six Giga RAM and 512GB storage, making it well-suited for demanding tasks like gaming and video editing. The phone's speaker system consists of dual speakers, one located at the top and one at the bottom of the device.

One feature that stands out on the Axon 9 Pro is its ability to upscale video content in real-time. Using AI technology, the phone can take a normal video feed and improve it by upscaling the framerate from 24 frames per second to 60 frames per second. This means that users will get a smoother viewing experience when watching movies or playing games on their device. We've also noticed that the phone's display is incredibly vibrant, with deep blacks and vivid colors that make it perfect for watching videos.

The Axon 9 Pro runs on near stock Android 8.1, which provides a clean and intuitive user interface. However, CTE has added a few features to enhance the experience, including four sport modes that are designed to help track subjects in motion. These modes include activities like running, cycling, and swimming, and will provide users with accurate tracking data.

One of the most impressive features on the Axon 9 Pro is its battery life. The phone's 4000 milliamp power battery provides all-day usage, making it perfect for users who are always on the go. Additionally, the device supports both wireless charging and quick charge for Plus, which can charge the battery to half capacity in just thirty minutes.

In terms of pricing, the Axon 9 Pro will initially be available in Germany for €649. While there's no word yet on whether the phone will be released in other European nations or even the UK, it's likely that CTE will make it available in all major markets soon.
