NOVEMBER READING WRAP UP!

The Bookish Musings of a Reading Enthusiast: A Review of the Past Month's Reads

As I sit down to write about my latest reading adventures, I am filled with a sense of excitement and satisfaction. The past month has been a whirlwind of emotions, with some books leaving me feeling elated and others evoking a range of feelings that have left me breathless.

I must say that one book in particular stood out from the rest - Renegades by Tomi Adeyemi. I had high hopes for this book, and while it did not quite live up to my expectations, it was still an enjoyable read. The plot was engaging, with a healthy dose of politics that kept me on the edge of my seat. However, I felt that there wasn't enough action or fight scenes to really get my heart racing. The scheming and plotting were well-executed, but it was more of a behind-the-scenes look at the events unfolding rather than a front-and-center battle. That being said, I did appreciate the exploration of right versus wrong, which is always a theme that resonates with me.

Despite not quite reaching the heights of Renegades, I still found myself thoroughly enjoying this book and eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series. While it may not have been my favorite of the month, it was certainly a solid addition to the Renegades saga.

On a completely different note, I discovered an author who has left me utterly enthralled - Clare Leachman. Her latest release, Sawhill Girls, is a creepy and captivating tale that had me hooked from start to finish. The premise of this book is deceptively simple: three girls living on the isolated Saco Rock, with one missing girl whose disappearance remains unsolved for decades. As I delved deeper into the story, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in the lives of these characters and their struggles.

What struck me most about this book was its exploration of female power and representation. The author tackles topics such as LGBTQ+ identity and asexuality with sensitivity and nuance, providing a refreshing respite from the usual heteronormative tropes often found in YA fiction. The writing itself is beautiful, with a lyrical quality that added to the overall atmosphere of unease and foreboding.

As I neared the end of this book, I felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that it was a standalone, complete story with no loose ends left untied. The author has done an excellent job of crafting a tale that is both haunting and beautiful, leaving me with a lasting impression long after finishing the final page.

Lastly, I must mention my latest obsession - Sarah J. Maas's Kingdom of Ash. This seventh and final installment in the Throne of Glass series was everything I had hoped for and more. The writing was evocative, the characters well-developed, and the plot expertly woven to create a satisfying conclusion to the series.

I must confess that I was hooked from the very start of this book, and it took me barely a day to devour the entire thing. The author has done an incredible job of bringing this epic fantasy series full circle, tying up loose ends and providing a sense of closure for the beloved characters. There were moments of sadness, of course, but they were tempered by the knowledge that I had grown to love these characters so dearly.

For those considering starting the Throne of Glass series, I highly recommend it. While some books may not be suitable for all readers, this series is an exception. The world-building is rich and immersive, the characters complex and multi-dimensional, and the story is full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

And so, with that, I conclude my review of the past month's reads. It has been a pleasure to share my thoughts and reactions with you all, and I hope that you have found something new to add to your reading list. Happy reading!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today I'm here to share with you all of the books I read in November so this is definitely my least amount read month I've had this year by far I've only read five books this month but I'm really happy with the majority of the books that I read this month was just insanity to me I've had like two weddings I had like six photoshoots I had lots of I had a prep for the read-a-thon I had to do another like thing for a like Marisa TV show marathon I was produced fitting in I just had a lot going on this month so the fact that I read even one book I'm pretty happy with oh yeah only five books so this would be a little bit of a shorter wrap-up I hope that is okay um as always I'm going to start with my least favorite book working up to my favorites so I want to talk about is my least favorite sadly and that is until a star fades by jacqueline middleton this is an adult chiclet novel I would say and I gave this book a three and a half out of five she also wrote the London belongs to me duology which I did really enjoy this book is all about this grunting Reilly who is at her senior year of NYU and she has a lot of things going on she has to you know struggle with having like three different jobs her mom has relapsed again with her cancer so she's having to go through with that and then she meets a guy named Ben and Ben is from London and he comes to New York basically and he moved from LA because his acting career wasn't going as well so he's hoping that New York will be better and he's just looking for a good time and basically these two become friends and then you can guess what happens from there I enjoyed this book I thought the romance was super cute but I found it to be too long like was almost 500 pages it's like 480 pages I do not think it needed to be that long I would say that was the one problem I had with it kind of just drug on because it was so lengthy that you had to write a lot but there was not a lot that happened if that makes any sense so I would say if you're like really interested in Chiclets - check this one out because the romance is very adorable very steamy is super cute but it just took a while to get there and then we got there took also a long time as well so it's just very lengthy in my opinion but I enjoyed it because it also talked about cancer talked about all my anxiety anxiety and I've talked a lot about important things I just didn't love it as much as I wanted to I know I'm very very like harsh on like romance and Chiclets books and I'm sorry to say but I liked it I just didn't love it I spoke I want to talk about is nine perfect strangers by Leah Moriarty I gave this book a 4 out of 5 I would say this is her latest book it's her craziest book yet that is for sure I did a whole video talking all about all of her books if you want to have any of my two books check that video out Tut's I tell you which ones I like which ones I don't like what they're all about and all that kind of things this is basically about these nine people that go to this health resort and they all go for very different things there's like a married couple that goes for counseling there's a guy who wants to go to just be healthier there's a woman that goes for just kind of a rejuvenation and it's all about their journey they're on like this nine-day retreat I want to say or like ten days and it just gets insanity this book does not have a mystery as most of her books do but it's just so bizarre like you're gonna hit Midway to this book you're me like what am I reading cuz it just goes from like here and then it goes like it's just insane I did like it though because it was so different from her other books and I still think about it quite often of just how a bizarre book it was so I did enjoy it and I would recommend it if you're really a more any fan but just don't expect it to be like her other books because it is definitely are like all rooks are kind of different this one is the most different I guess you could say would be the right word spoke I when I talk about is arch enemies by Marissa Meyer I gave this book a 4 and a half out of 5 this is a sequel to renegades which was my favorite mogul last year I think and I was very anticipating this one because I loved renegade so much renegades is about like this Marvel movie if you will of books we have these heroes called the renegades and they're basically these people that keep the city safe of Gatlin safe and they you know do things and they have younger kids that are becoming renegades they're all prodigies if you have powers pretty much and then we have the arch enemies who are kind of the villains of the group and basically this book follows two main characters Adrian who is a renegade his alias is named sketch he can draw anything and he can like pull it and it's a real wax he could bike draw a book on the floor and then pull it up and he has a book but gets insane and he's a good guy and then we follow Nova who was known as nightmare and her power is she can put anybody to sleep with a touch and she can also not sleep at all like she doesn't need any sleep to function which that would be great if I could have and basically she goes undercover as a renegade to learn more about them and kind of seek revenge on her family who was never saved by renegade and I just I loved renegade so much I thought it was fast I thought it was just a fun book to read it was so fun and this one I did not love I feel like this is the kind of standard second book set up where the first book is really really good and the second book you kind of hit a lull but then the third and final book it hits with a like a huge punch it's just really good this one I feel was just typical middle one there was a lot of politics that went into this book which I really enjoyed but with that there wasn't a lot of like action I would say there wasn't a lot of fight scenes and a lot of really choreographed you know scheming and things like that it was more kind of the back end of that like the political aspect of it the the right versus wrong which I do enjoy so sadly I did not love this one as much as renegades but I still love this series good lord it's one my favorite series of all time but the ending was also really good but overall I wanted to like it as much as renegades but I didn't I don't know how people are feeling about it honestly stone native he'll murder you for it but I liked it I didn't love it like I wanted it to be as good as renegades maybe I'm the only one that feels that way I am Not sure y'all have to tell me last two books I read this month I gave both 5 stars they were both amazing the first one is Sawhill girls by Clare LeBron I loved this book so much I was not expecting to love it as much as I did sometimes I go into books naked I like it I won't love it this one I loved it's about this place called Saco Rock and on this place there's these girls that go missing from time to time and nobody knows where they go they don't know what happened to them they kind of chalk it up to a disappearance or like they're dead and it's about we follow these three girls that live on Saco Rock two of them have been living there for a while and one is very new and she kind of shakes things up and throughout the entire this book you learn where these girls are going that are disappearing and what is happening to them and how these three girls are playing into it and it is a creepy book I'm not gonna lie to you I did not think it was gonna be as creepy as it was but it was very creepy like this is the perfect book to read near Halloween like hands down so if you own it and if you're thinking about reading it I would save it for Halloween because it's the creep factor is freaking up there for this book I loved it though it also has so great for female power like there's so many good feminist tales in this there's also great LGBTQ representation in this there's also great asexual representation in this this book is just phenomenal and I don't think enough people are talking about it like I haven't heard a lot of people say it like a lot of things about it but I loved every second this book the writing was beautiful the plot was beautiful and I also loved that the standalone like I feel like the story is complete and I'm very happy with that ended favorite book of the month sure if it was no surprise I feel like everyone's gonna be putting this as their top favorite of the year and that is kingdom of ash by Sarah J Maas it's the seventh and final book and the throne of glass series and it was worth the way it was beautiful it was sad it was happy it was all the feelings of below I have I have a but I just loved every second of it I thought it was gonna take me a lot longer to read this than it did but I should have known because once she liked Sarah J Maas envelops me in a story like it's she's hooked me in for good so I love this book if you're considering about reading the series I would go ahead and do it the whole series Donna so you don't have to wait and you could get the printer library and try one or two and see if you want to continue on but I think it's a great fantasy ye series honestly like I love the characters of some more than others but overall I loved how it ended and I'm kind of happy is that it like it's been a long series but I feel like the chapters finally like the it's done and I'm happy with that but I loved every second of this series yeah those are all
