Awesome Tech You Can't Buy Yet - July 15, 2018

Welcome to Awesome Tech You Can't Buy Yet, where we dive into the latest and greatest crowdfunding projects that are making waves on the internet. In this episode, we're going to explore four innovative products that have caught our attention.

First up is the Air Worl, a personal AC device that's perfect for hot summer days. This portable powerhouse can be carried with you wherever you go, providing a refreshing breeze that's similar to those insulated double-walled vacuum-sealed Yeti mugs that cost an arm and a leg. The idea behind the Air Worl is simple: fill it full of ice, push a button, and let the little fan on top circulate air through the ice, blowing it directly into your face. It's also a heater, as you can put pocket warmers in it to transform it into a cozy companion for colder months. Right now, you can get your hands on one of these devices for $129, with an ambitious August 2018 ship date that may be a bit ambitious considering this is the first product from Air Worl.

Next up is the Duo Laptop Monitor Extender, a solution for those who work on laptops and find themselves juggling multiple screens and programs. This clever device attaches magnetically to the back of your laptop and extends a 12.5-inch screen with 1080p resolution, giving you an extra display space to work with. You can rotate it up to 270 degrees, allowing you to tilt it towards you or flip it all the way back to create a monitor on the back of your monitor – perfect for presentations or showing off your screen to someone else. The early bird pledge price is $189, while regular backers will pay $220. With a delivery date set for January 2019, which is about six months away, we'll be keeping an eye on this project to see if it hits its mark.

Now, let's dive into the world of scuba diving with the Super Hookah, a tankless diving system that promises to revolutionize the way we explore the underwater world. The idea behind this innovative device is simple: instead of wearing a heavy tank on your back and going through certification processes, you can simply swim freely below the surface while attached by a hose. The Super Hookah floats on top of the water above you, making it easy to navigate and maneuver. With a ship date set for May 2019, we'll be waiting with bated breath to see if this project comes together as promised.

Last but not least, we have the Nano Cure Tent from Imperial Motion, an apparel company based in Tacoma, Washington. This self-healing tent is made using advanced technology that allows it to repair itself when damaged, eliminating the need for patches or duct tape. The concept of self-healing fabrics has been around for a while, but this is the first time it's been incorporated into a tent. To use it, simply pinch the fabric and rub it between your fingers, and voila! The hole will be filled in. Not only does it look great, but it also comes with a price tag of $200, with an ambitious December 2018 ship date that seems like a realistic goal given Imperial Motion's experience with manufacturing.

Last but not least, we have the Rizzo, a clever device that makes ironing shirts a breeze. Inspired by the trick of hanging your shirt in the bathroom while taking a hot shower to smooth out wrinkles, the Rizzo applies internal tension to your shirt and stretches it out as you get it wet. When it dries, it will be completely wrinkle-free – no ironing board or iron required! The video for this product features a hilarious intro with a buff Italian guy complaining about how much he dislikes ironing his shirts. You can get your hands on one of these devices for about $46 (or 39 euros) and are set to ship in October.

That's all for this week, folks. Be sure to check back next week when we'll bring you five more awesome crowdfunding projects that might have flown under the radar.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up everybody and welcome to awesome tech you can't buy yet I am gonna go over all of the best crowdfunding projects that have hit the internet this week first up just in time for summer is the air worl which is a personal AC device it's personal and portable so basically you can carry this thing around with you wherever you go and have AC with you which is pretty awesome you know those little insulated double walled vacuum sealed like Yeti mugs that cost way too much money it's basically one of those things with a little fan on top of it as the cap the idea is that you fill it full of ice and then just push a button and it'll kind of circulate air through all of that ice and then blow it in your face it's also a heater apparently but it's summer right now so I don't even care about all of that but apparently if you do want that you can put pocket warmers in it and it will do the same thing but become a heater right now you can lock one down for 129 bucks they're aiming for an August 2018 ship date which seems a little bit ambitious considering this is the first product ever from this company that we've seen but their video does show a pretty finished looking product so who knows they might actually hit that date moving on the next one up is the duo laptop monitor extenders anybody who works on a laptop knows that it's not exactly the most convenient thing you don't really have a ton of screen real estate to work with so if you're juggling a lot of stuff working with a lot of programs it can get a little bit crowded this is a solution to that it's essentially a twelve point five inch screen 1080p resolution and it attaches magnetically to the back of your laptop and you can kind of just like slide it out to create a second display that's right next to the one that you're using already you can also rotate with 270 degrees of freedom which means that you can kind of tilt it more toward you or you can flip it all the way back and essentially have a monitor on the back of your monitor which is good for I don't know showing your screen to somebody else or giving a presentation this one if you lock it down for the earlybird pledge you can get it for a hundred and eighty nine bucks it's 220 if you don't get it that early they're shooting for a delivery date of January of 2019 which is about like six months away but because it's an electronic thing it's complex don't be surprised if that gets pushed back next up we have the super hookah which is a tankless diving system diving obviously is pretty fun snorkeling and all that stuff is great but the problem is in order to go diving in scuba diving you have to have a tank on your back and you also have to go through all these certifications and stuff like that it's pretty complex so the idea behind this super hookah is that it is a tankless thing so you don't have to wear the tank on your back basically the idea is this thing floats on top of the water above you and then you can just swim freely below only being attached by the hose they say they're gonna ship in May of 2019 but again I wouldn't be surprised if they have to push this back just because it's a little bit of a complex thing to produce number four on the list is the Nano cure tent from Imperial motion which is an apparel company based in Tacoma Washington so this thing is a self-healing tent it's a pretty cool concept I don't know if you guys are aware of this but self-healing fabrics are totally a thing they are here now I've seen them in products before so this isn't the first time that somebody's doing this but it is the first time that it's in a tent which is really cool because as you know if you get a hole in your normal tent you have to go through this whole process where you either just slap some duct tape on it or you could use a patch kit it's just this whole big ordeal to fix your tent but with this sucker all you really have to do is pinch the fabric and rub it between your fingers and buy some magic by miracles of modern technology this fabric will self heal self repair and that hole that little puncture will be filled in it also looks like it's just a pretty good tent in general it's got you know nice design to it so you can get this thing for about 200 bucks if you pledge now they're aiming for a December 2018 ship date and because these guys are already an established company it's that actually seems like a pretty realistic goal alright and last but not least is the Risso automatic ironing system or the delete so as the Italian company that makes it pronounces it but I'm just going to call it Rizzo because I'm an American and I'm a the rules on this show all right so you know that trick where you can kind of like D wrinkle a shirt by putting it in the bathroom while you take like a hot steamy shower and all the wrinkles kind of come out this is basically built around that same concept but it's executed with a little bit more purpose essentially what this thing is is it's this internal frame system that applies tension to your shirt and you kind of just button your shirt around it and then you get it wet and it stretches everything out and then when it dries it will be completely wrinkle free so they're marketing it as an alternative to you know just busting out an ironing board and an iron it might be a little bit faster it doesn't seem like it would be necessarily the most convenient thing in the world but it is kind of a cool concept the video also has a hilarious intro with this like buff Italian guy talking about how much he doesn't like ironing his shirts so definitely check that that's pretty funny you can get your hands on one of these guys for about 39 euros which comes out to about 46 bucks u.s. they're gonna ship in October apparently but the thing is they've actually tried to manufacture this before they ran a Kickstarter campaign about a year ago so chances are pretty good that they already have all the manufacturing lined up all right that's it for this week but be sure to check back next week and I will bring you five more awesome crowdfunding projects that you probably didn't see\n"
